Fantastic experience: I had an amazing realism colour portrait tattoo of my late wife by Jonarton based in chapters tattoo studio, Birmingham. If you want a realism piece done I can’t recommend Jon enough, thank you so much for your brilliant work.

Fantastic experience: I was looking at getting a tattoo, and after seeing a friend’s amazing realism piece, he recommended his tattooartist Jonarton (Jon) at Chapters Tattoo Studio in Birmingham. I sent Jon some images for inspiration for my Menorcan themed idea, and he created an amazing mock-up, and after a couple of tweaks, we landed on the perfect design. It was my first tattoo, and Jon instantly made me feel relaxed. While setting up, he took the time to chat, get to know me, and even played music he thought I’d like (and absolutely nailed it). His attention to detail is unreal. He clearly loves what he does and takes real pride in every part of the process. Jon talked me through everything, answered all my (sometimes nervous!) questions, and gave top-notch aftercare advice. He’s genuinely there for you from start to finish, even checking in afterwards to see how the healing process is going. The studio itself is lovely and welcoming, and everyone there was great. If you’re looking for a realistic tattoo, I couldn’t recommend Jonarton more highly. Absolute legend! :)

Fantastic experience: My tattoo was done in Birmingham by @Gempintattoo (Gem) at Chapters Tattoo Studio. The studio itself it's very modern with a stylish theme inside. It's spacious, clean and tidy. Two toilets downstairs and a little kitchen area for drinks and food. Staff all had great attitudes and were easy to talk with which is essential in those long sittings. Gems work is outstanding and her reputation proceeds her. Anyone wanting geometric, mandalIa, dot work or line work need to check her out! I have zero compliants about the studio and is without doubt the best tattoo studio I have been to for work. Highly recommended.

It’s a beautiful piece of work and he and Gemma’s attention to detail is second to none. The studio is clean, comfortable and stylish. Briefly met the rest of the team and they’re all friendly and laid back. Travelled from Durham to Birmingham earliest opportunity I could to get my work done with Jon after seeing his portrait work. Super accommodating when I needed anything and made me feel so at ease. I can’t wait to be back!

The studio is so clean and beautifully designed and all of the staff/artists are so friendly and welcoming. Would recommend the studio and especially Shan to EVERYONE!

Fantastic experience: If I could give more stars I would. Honestly Jon is superb at what he does which is give amazing realistic tattoos, from start to finish he’s professional and guided me all the way from design to finished article, even aftercare and products to use. The studio is based in Birmingham and has a great vibe about it, another artist i’d like to shout out is Gemma, she was doing a back piece in the seat next to me whilst I was having mine done, again beautiful work. Both these guys are an advocate for their profession truly grateful to be in their presence when they’re working at such a high level. Another mention was Glen the studio manager, lovely, lovely guy who is just so happy to help. Overall a great studio with even better people. Definitely watch out for them to bag some trophies this year.

Fantastic experience: Gem is the OG. If you’re looking for an Ornamental piece (line, dot and geometric pattern work) arguably the best in the UK, and if you’re local midlands, she’s just in the JQ over at chapters. Studio is really nice as well, easy to find, and plenty of parking around. If you want ornamental, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I recently attended a seminar run by Jamie Lee Knott at Chapters. It’s a clean, professional studio and was very quickly welcomed in by Jamie and Shan for the full day experience. The day was incredibly fun and informative and I came away feeling inspired and ready to put aspects of Jamie’s process into my own workflow. I can’t thank them enough for putting on an amazing event and it’s something that I genuinely recommend for other tattoo artists to level up their craft. Thanks!
