Fantastic experience: One of the best experiences we have possibly had getting a tattoo, thoroughly cleaned after finishing a section of the tattoo, explained step by step what was going on. Lovely studio!

Negative experience: got a tattoo here in october, came out extremely wonky, honestly was pretty overcharged for rhe service i received amd the fact that the artist who tattooed me was obviously an apprentice and didn’t make me aware

Negative experience: Opening hours are inaccurate. Says they close at 8pm and it's 6.20pm, I made the journey after work and it's closed. Quite frustrating as a returning customer because when are you supposed to know they'll be open?

Fantastic experience: Got a piercing done this month and I had such a good experience, everyone is so kind and supportive since I was a bit nervous. It hasn’t been long and it has already healed so nicely I am so happy about it !!! Love this place I will DEFINITELY come back !!!!!!

Negative experience: Had the consultation on the 31/10/25 for a 5/1/26 tattoo sesh, tattoo is meant to be of the dragons from the last airbender. They sent me a draft n I told them what i wanted changed, I had to literally beg for them to send me the 2 dragon pic which was sent to me on the 31/12/25. A couple days later they sent me the single red dragon with changes i never asked for and with barely any of the changes i did ask for. Super disappointed that they AI generated my tattoo ideas which was gonna be my biggest tattoo yet.

Positive experience: Been there yesterday for a Eyebrow Piercing I got vertical. The staff were friendly women and the studio looked so good goth like. I like my eyebrow piercing✨ but the piercer gave me end arch, I told her I wanted tail (end of eyebrow) but I don't think she knew what I ment. She said that the arch suits me perfectly or something along the lines. But I had to go with the arch then I wanted a tail one so bad My point is ppl come to u for their requested piercings not for piercing staff to tell them what they should go for because it's their piercing and money they are paying for. Overall, experienced piercer and process.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic! I had a really good experience with Vean Birmingham from start to finish. Whoever handles their watsapp and books the appointments was organised and happy to answer all my questions and share work by their artists. Can’t believe they’re open until 8pm, this was basically the decider for me against other tattoo shops because I could only come after work. I was pleased to be paired with artist Vlad because I’d seen on their website he has lots of experience. When we met he was really friendly. He already had my design ideas on his iPad and had been through them. My tattoo idea was quite personal to do with my kids and Vlad asked lots of questions and genuinely seemed interested in my project. He was a wizard on his iPad and sketched me a unique design with his inputs. He was helpful with advice about placement and what would look good with the body’s movements. Total time was about three hours and Vlad worked straight through without a break! The studio is lovely, clean and bright and in a great spot near the train station. Nice atmosphere with chill music playing etc. Would definitely recommend

Negative experience: got my seconds on my ear lobe pierced a week ago but few days later one of the earrings fell out so i went back to get the earring put back in. waited 40 minutes & the woman re opened an infected conch piercing of mine that had closed over three years ago - she got mixed up with the fresh ear lobe piercing i got last week?? not sure how that’s possible. she didn’t even take the time to clarify which hole i wanted the earring in, and in a job like that it’s important to communicate with clients?? so if i get an infection again in this re opened conch, i’ll know who to blame …

Negative experience: Rubbish place, this place is full of apprentices. Got a tattoo a few months ago. Followed exactly what the lady said and even bought the after care cream. Took of the wrapping of the following day to see many patches not tattooed properly. Messaged immediately and was told its my fault as I didn't take care of it.was told I would have to wait 6 weeks to heal then they would fill in the spots for a charge of £20. Came in paid and still a few spots remain. Can't be bothered to complain or go back as I came from nottingham. It was my first ever tattoo and was a horrible experience. Put in the extra £20 £30and go to a professional place as you will be back here paying the extra money to get filled in and even then it won't be done properly. If you go here and it goes wrong. You can only blame yourself.

Fantastic experience: 10/ Service and my tattoo came out lovely!

Negative experience: I got my piercings done back in May, usually I stay with my piercers but they closed down so I thought I’d try this place instead. They charged me £20 for a deposit which I’ve never had to do anywhere else. I got my tragus repierced and my conch, the lady that did my piercing which I think her name was Violet, I told her that I’ve already had the piercings before however I took them out but want them back in again, the whole time she was saying that the jewellery I have in previously from my other piercing shop was fake silver and giving me unwarranted opinions. She was rude to me and my friend that doesn’t get piercings so this put us off coming back. In total including the deposit I paid £110 for piercings and jewellery which my tragus has come out and I have problems with my conch jewellery. I feel like I have wasted money because of this. if I’m paying £100+ I shouldn’t be dealing with these issues. Saving for anyone coming here to do piercings it’s not worth it because you’ll be dealing with passive aggressive behaviour and jewellery that doesn’t last.

Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK HERE. This tattoo studio should be closed. The horrid tattoo they did, completely ignoring the design I agreed to is not the only issue. I was having tattoo removal on a previous tattoo and was told it won’t work? So why am I told to book in and go through the pain and pay if while doing the laser I’m told this? Also, not all the tattoo was lasered. I was given blackout goggles to wear that had dust in them and had to refuse to wear them and just looked away instead. Horrendous, not fit to be open and tattooing or lasering. I have complained and awaiting a response but not sure how this can be fixed.

Negative experience: went in one time but it took an hour and a half to actually get started even though no one else was there. i didn’t mind that too much but then when they printed out the stencil work had i mentioned a part being wrong that i asked to be adjusted both in the DM and to the staff at the time, the tattoo artist seemed annoyed with me. most of the time her communication was passive aggressive even though i was being nice. it was my first time getting a tattoo and they didn’t ask me if it was at any point of the appointment, which i thought would be a common thing to ask people for their safety and comfort. the service wasn’t welcoming at all, but the tattoo was really good so i’ll give it that!

Fantastic experience: Booked my tattoo in advance for a trip to Birmingham to see the Black Sabbath bridge and artwork to get an Ozzy tribute tattooed. Was only in Birmingham for a few hours and they were very accommodating giving my tight time frame to catch a train back to Portsmouth. Even though the artist I was assigned could not make the appointment due to traffic they managed to get another artist to step in and she did an amazing job. Atmosphere was great, very relaxed and dead happy with the result.

Negative experience: The tattoo artist was quite unfriendly and I had a reference photo but I asked for some letters to be changed. They did not do so, they put the first stencil on and I pointed out the letters were wrong despite me saying they were to be changed when I sent the reference photo. I will not be going here again. There are many better, friendlier tattoo places in Birmingham.

Negative experience: Didn’t have a great selection of piercing jewellery, they pierced my conch with a bar that was too short and it started to embed as it naturally swelled in the initial healing process. Went to another piercer who said it should’ve originally been pierced with a longer bar and replaced it and have had no problems since.

Positive experience: For my first visit of the shop, I thought is was good. However, I was waiting for an hour for the tattoo artist to start. He got his equipment ready then decided to have a vape outside before starting. I get that not many customers are in so it's a slow day but I felt I was waiting most of the time. The quality of the tattoos were good but I'm 50/50 on returning.

Negative experience: Went in for a jewellery change, it was my first time using Vean and wasn’t sure about it. Booking process was odd, no obvious pricing and kept getting messages from different chats afterwards (even after I’d been to the shop) seeming unaware that I’d even been in. Communication aside, my first physical impression wasn’t good. I arrived 15 mins before my appointment to find the shop locked up, shutters down and someone else waiting outside (I think she was the housekeeper). When I checked google for the opening times it was already an hour past opening. The receptionist arrived not long after and opened up - she also turned out to be the piercer. She was nice enough but the staggering delay in opening meant nothing was ready. Then the annoying registration/forms that never came through, and making my lay down for a nostril jewellery change seemed unnecessary. Less than two weeks later the ball has come off and needless to say I won’t be going back to Vean. The studio looks nice aesthetically but from my experience there are better places out there, that are friendlier and more professional with an easier booking process.

All the staff were very nice and it made the environment so relaxed. Kate was so patient, kind, friendly, and she made sure I was satisfied with the design before starting. This was only my second ever tattoo so I was definitely nervous but she immediately calmed my nerves! I will definitely be going back to Kate for my future tattoos! Thank you so much!

Negative experience: piercer was inexperienced and therefore pierced too close to the surface of my skin, which had lead to the piercing getting rejected and healing up. there was no discussion of aftercare and the attitude from the piercer was not the best.

Fantastic experience: Went to get my first tattoo done in memory of my mother - a matching one with my sister. It was only a small tattoo so it took about 10 minutes - the staff were friendly and made sure there was clarity on what we wanted and where we wanted it. They were also happy to answer any questions I had about the aftercare, and provided detail instructions for that. The only thing to note is if you're planning on booking an appointment, don't do it on Booksy as my appointment ended up not showing on their system. Fortunately, they were still able to see us that day
