Fantastic experience: Thias did a great job, it was my first tattoo and they were very patient and kind, making sure I was comfortable and happy with the design. They let me alter the design on the day before starting and the appointment ran over at no extra charge. They also started small with the tattoo to make sure I was ok with the pain level before diving in which I appreciated, I also got a lolly pop which was fun! All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and made it a really nice experience all round. Will definitely be going back for more tattoos!

Fantastic experience: I was on Vacation when I thought a Highland Cow as a souvenir Tattoo would be amazing! I was so happy that they were open for Walk-in Tattoos and that Chelsea had time for me :) and she showed me such a cute highland cow that I couldn’t say no! Even if it didn’t match my other tattoo style :) I fucking love this cow and I felt so welcome and comfortable, that I would definitely come back someday for another tattoo if there’s still free skin on me :D

Fantastic experience: I am absolutely in love with my tattoo by Thais. She was super warm, friendly and professional. She took her time with me making me feel comfortable, offering sugary sweets and talking me through the process when I explained I was a little nervous and not used to tattoos (was my first in almost 20 years!) This tattoo has been 10 years in the making for me, to mark a special memory of my late Granda and Thais has executed it perfectly. A really cool studio, everyone was friendly, singing along to the playlist and chatting amongst themselves. Really made me feel at ease ☺️

Fantastic experience: I wanted a bat tattoo but other than some references wasn’t sure exactly how it would look. Sophia gave me an incredible tattoo, one of my favorites now. She was great to talk to over the 4-5hrs, one of best tattoo artists I’ve been to over the years, I wouldn’t hesitate to have her do another one in the future.

When I was through the back really get a sense of how close they are and the love they all have for their work (and each others). Fantastic experience: Absolutely Amazing studio!! As a wheelchair user it was a massive relief knowing how far Sandie and the artists have gone and continue to go to make sure the studio is accessible to everyone who could possibly go! Upon meeting Sandie he immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease! All the artist are lovely and so talented! Marcos done a beautiful thistle to cover up an old tattoo on my stomach, while dealing with my horrible nerve reactions without once making me feel bad or like a hassle, on top of being a genuinely kind person! Cannot rave and rate Watermelon high enough and will recommend to everyone who asks! Can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic experience: I got my tattoo done with Chelsea_heslop in April 2025 and she was incredibly lovely, accommodating and encouraging. The second image was taken a month later and it healed lovely, looks very well done. The building is very welcoming and fun and I cannot wait to get another tattoo from them, thank you Chelsea! In love with my silly sweaty fish !! I had asked for the lines to be choppy and shaky and she did a wonderful job!! My friend has another tattoo from her and the lineart is lovely and clean if that is what your looking for !

Fantastic experience: I have had 2 tattoo's done here and they are amazing! I was visiting guest artist Moly Moonlight who attends regularly and she was just phenomenal! These are my first tattoos and between moly and the studio staff i felt completely comfortable. Studio is colourfully decorated and clean. Fantastic experience: Best tattoo shop I’ve used. Clean, efficient, and consummate artists. I was tattooed by Marcos who was gentle, very fast and designed two pieces on my chest and a full back piece that was beautiful and conformed to my existing ink. While getting tattooed I saw some of the other artists do beautiful work. Excellent prices, wonderful shop.

Fantastic experience: I just left Watermelon Tattoo, and I cannot be more impressed by and grateful to Chelsea for my new art. I’m building a travel tattoo leg piece, and I wanted a Highland Coo to represent my time in Scotland. Chelsea gave me exactly what I was looking for, but rather than the standard hairy coo, she made it her own style and flavor. She worked with me on placement, recommendations for angles and longevity, and even workshopped some new tattoo ideas I want in the future. Chelsea’s work truly stands out alongside my other art, and the color work is so vibrant and eye catching. We had a great conversation throughout the entire tattoo which was such a pleasure (and welcome distraction ). Phenomenal person, phenomenal artist. 10/10 would go back for my next tattoo.

Fantastic experience: Visited Watermelon Tattoo for a new tattoo with the guest artist Sergio (this was our third tattoo from Sergio). Amazing service from start to finish. Easy booking process and great communication to make sure everything went smoothly. On the day Sandie was very welcoming and professional. Also got to mention the loud welcome from Gino the resident dog lol Would definitely recommend this salon as all the artists were incredible, the quality of tattoos I seen were amazing! From the start, liaising with the owner Sandie via email was an absolute pleasure—he was incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful in organising my sister and I's tattoos from overseas. He made the whole process smooth, found the perfect artists for us, and made us feel completely welcome from the moment we walked in. The studio itself had such a comfortable, relaxed vibe—great music, a beautiful space, and none of that intimidating energy you sometimes expect from tattoo shops. We felt at ease asking for exactly what we wanted. Thais did my fine line tattoo and I can’t thank her enough. She was so gentle and quick, and absolutely nailed capturing my Dad’s handwriting—it’s perfect and means so much to me. Sergio tattooed my floral bouquet and it’s honestly a work of art. Watching him work was amazing. Both he and Thais took the vague ideas I brought in and turned them into something meaningful and stunning. Can’t recommend this place enough. Fantastic experience: This was my first tattoo at nearly 60 so I was nervous as you might imagine. It was a wonderful, memorable experience, I loved every moment from the welcome, the beauty and ambience of the studio, the music (Bjork), the chupa chup when I had a wobble…and the finished product, which is more gorgeous than I could have possibly imagined. Fantastic experience: Hi First time "Ever " blank 62 year old canvas .Had my very first Tat done by Tina . Everyone's Tattoos are special to them and I was no difference.I got my son's doggy ( Lara a black Cocker Spaniel paw print next to my heart as she means Everything to me ) Tina was excellent and very talented and made me feel at ease .Not sore and have followed their after care instructions and Tat is still just as good as day 1 . I’d heard of Watermelon from word of mouth (all positive), it was my first tattoo and something I’d been putting off for a while. Sandie the joint owner was brilliant, as was Chelsea who completed my tattoo. They set my mind at ease, we had a great chat, laugh and joke. Before I knew it, it was all done. Fantastic experience: Had my first tattoo at Watermelon Tattoo today. It was brilliant! Firstly, any nerves I could have had about having my first tattoo were handled before they could even come up. They talk you through the whole process with lots of useful and easy to digest information available from their website and in the emails they send you. I very much felt like there was no question I couldn't ask them to be sure I was confident and comfortable in proceeding. Secondly, the energy in Watermelon is fantastic. Everyone there is enthusiastic and happy to be there, there's good music playing and fun chat going which keeps the atmosphere super chill, welcoming and relaxing. Clearly a really great team who work well together. Thirdly, of course, the artist who did my tattoo - Tina! Superstar. She was warm and reassuring before we began. She is clearly a great artist who takes pride in her work and she also knew this was important to me and her desire to make sure it was done right was evident at all stages. Other tattoos I spotted being done at the same time by other artists looked brilliant too. I'll be surprised if I'm not back again for more down the line! This is my second tattoo with Watermelon Studio, and I have to say, I love them! They are all so friendly, and the service is amazing.The first tattoo was done by Enrique, who advised me on the size and other technical details, and it looked absolutely fantastic. Now, I've gone again, and this time it's been a guest artist, Ainek, who has done an absolutely amazing job. I was in contact with her through Instagram, and she has been in charge of the design.I have to say that on both occasions, the experience has been nothing short of 10/10, with everyone being absolutely fantastic.Sandie and Noemi are a charm, as are all the artists who work with them. I can only say that I will repeat.

Fantastic experience: Thanks so much to the lovely Rebeca at Watermelon Tattoo for creating a beautiful masterpiece on my calf of a Ballerina. I had my tattoo officially booked in since the beginning of this year, but unfortunately the original artist that I picked is experiencing health issues, and due to this, I had to postpone and reschedule. Then I discovered Rebeca's work and I rebooked - I am so grateful. Thank you to Sandie for being flexible and patient and most importantly, for making sure I was lined up with a suitable artist. My tattoo is very sentimental and special to me, it is to represent my late Gran who was a professional dancer and who passed away last year. My rescheduled booking was made for the 2'nd of December, the day that my wonderful Gran passed away last year. The date was meant to be in honour to her in rememberance. I am very grateful for such a beautiful tattoo that means so much to me. Sandie was very clear and informative about the aftercare which was a great help. I must add, he also picked brilliant music for the day that was completely chilled vibes.

Fantastic experience: I just got my first tattoo with Enrique, and loved the whole process. There were some things I wanted to change about the initial design and he was more than happy to do it. The second design was great and he did it really fast. I was a bit nervous but he was super understanding and accommodating. As we were starting I changed my mind again and asked him to leave out part of the design, and again he was happy to do so. The tattoo is amazing. I couldn't ask for a better tattoo artist!

She made an adorable tattoo of my favourite cat in which she captured his cuteness perfectly. I would recommend Natalia if you want a cute tattoo.

Fantastic experience: So I left an initial 5 star review after my first tattoo at this shop years ago. I think it was with a guest artist? Since then, I’ve had an additional 3 tattoos with a variety of guest artists and two with Noemi. I can’t speak highly enough of my experiences. Every time I have left the shop delighted with the results. It’s such a lovely, clean, and welcoming shop, even for people like me, who feel super nervous all the time. I never felt judged or like what I wanted was stupid. Anyone who wants a tattoo would be lucky to get it done at Watermelon Tattoo.

Fantastic experience: Thais did my first ever tattoo today and I cannot recommend her enough. She was so friendly, really put me at ease, and did a beautiful job. She took a lot of care in making sure it was exactly what I wanted before she even started - it was very much appreciated! The studio itself is nice and bright and had a lovely atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Watermelon Tattoo is the place to go! I can hands down say I’ve never been in a more welcoming tattoo parlor; it’s bright, clean, and friendly, and everyone is always in a good mood. I’ll never go to another place in Edi again! Enrique, my artist, has the cleanest and crispest lines of any tattooer I’ve ever seen, and after my first tattoo with him I knew I had to come back for more. He’s since done 3 other tattoos for me, and counting! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with such detailed and bold pieces, he’s just that good. Will definitely be back for more, and I recommend both him and Watermelon Tattoo to anyone and everyone who asks :)

I was quoted much cheaper in another shop but chose watermelon and Enrique when I compared his work to the other, I made the right choice!. Watermelon is a really friendly and fun shop with excellent artists, I will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo there with Tina and it’s super gorgeous! She is an incredible artist and super nice, I felt completely safe and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is a bit afraid of getting their first tattoo. The people in the studio are super friendly and you will be in good hands!

Fantastic experience: I had my first ever tattoos done by Thais at Watermelon Studio a week ago and my experience was great! The studio is very clean, calm and welcoming! I felt relaxed and at ease. All the staff were friendly and nice. Thais was amazing and took great care to make sure the designs were what I wanted which made me feel reassured. I would definitely go back!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience getting my first ever tattoo done by Tina. The whole team made me feel very welcome and at ease, it’s a very relaxing atmosphere, especially for someone without any tattoos yet. Tina absolutely nailed my tattoo, it turned out better than I had imagined and she was more than happy to make any changes. Would definitely recommend the Watermelon team to anyone.

Fantastic experience: If you live in or near Edinburgh, I urger to to look no further than the great people at Watermelon. Everyone is super friendly, which to a degree came as a shock as I've been tattooed at different places where there seems to be an air of weird macho, almost aggressive and unwelcoming you're "just another customer" sort of vibe. But not here. Is a super welcoming atmosphere that really helped my already sky high anxiety of getting a sensitive part of my body stabbed thousands of times with needles. Whenever I've had to nessage the shop, or an artist they are very quick at replies which is always a bonus. Enrique tattooed me and I cannot fault him. The design he made was better than anything I ever thought it could be. Was super gentle and pretty quick without worrying I was being rushed to get out the door again. I've already been in touch with him to plan the next project and I honestly don't see myself going anywhere else. As I said. Just to here. You won't regret it!

Fantastic experience: Visited watermelon recently (twice this year) and got a tattoo by Nat. I can’t even begin to describe how amazing her tattoos are. She spends the time creating your ideas and creates a masterpiece. Her consultation is friendly and inviting which makes you feel at ease - she’s also very open to make any changes (although, I didn’t, her idea for my tattoo was perfection) She’s also super funny and kind. The team at Waterloo also helped me adjust my tattoo appointment and I can’t thank them enough. Quick replies and very helpful each time I’ve been in touch. It’s easy to book and pay the deposit. Sandie’s playlists are a great talking point. The studio is super clean, inviting, relaxed and they have nice things all around to spy. Everyone and the tattoo artists at this place are 10/10. (I was super sad to not see the resident dog while I was there, always next time lol)

Everyone was super friendly and shared opinions when I asked on things like placement while also really listening to me. Enrique, who did the tattoo, clearly knew what he was doing, was friendly and happy to explain the process in a very reassuring manner. All around cannot think of a single point of improvement!

Fantastic experience: I recently had my tattoo done there by Natalia. She's fantastic, a true artist, and I absolutely love my design! The session was long but I was very comfortable, the place is beautiful, vibrant, inviting and absolutely spotless. They even played some of favourite music . The service is fantastic, a couple of days after having my tattoo done I emailed with some aftercare concerns, and literally within a minute I got a callback from Sandie who answered all my questions. Watermelon team, I promise I'll be back ❤️

Fantastic experience: My wife and I traveled from the US to Scotland on vacation. We wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate the trip. Looked up the best shop in Edinburgh and it was Watermelon. Emailed them late one day and got an immediate response and got in the next day due to some cancellations. Awesome experience, communication, and shop. Super inviting inside and certainly not intimidating like some shops can be. Staff was nice and supportive. Great soundtrack playing as well.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were in Scotland for our honeymoon and had made a deal that if I got to pet a hairy coo then I’d have to get a hairy coo tattoo… well I got to pet a hairy coo. I reached out to Watermelon Tattoo on a whim via Instagram and Sandi replied quickly and was absolutely delightful and able to squeeze me in last minute. I ended up getting tattooed by Sandro (who was a guest artist) and had a wonderful experience with him too! If he guests there again, go see him!! He’s a kind and talented artist who doesn’t pressure you to do anything you don’t want to. A lot of tattoo shops can be judgmental of silly girlie tattoos - watermelon was the exact opposite. The space is clean, welcoming, and a total gem. When we make it make to Edinburgh we’ll make sure to book an appointment ahead of time. I highly recommend this shop!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic experience at Watermelon Tattoo today! This is THE best place I’ve been to for a tattoo. My tattoo is amazing and captured exactly what I wanted as a tribute to my late father. Very welcoming and not intimidating whatsoever like some other tattoo places I’ve been too. Really friendly and relaxed. Huge thank you to Sandro for my excellent tattoo, it’s perfect! Sandie is also really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended and I will most certainly be back, I won’t be going anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this studio enough. Everyone was just so friendly and understanding. Natalias design was beautiful, but the final tattoo was even more stunning, she really delivered a perfect job. The studio itself is very clean, they give really good instructions on how to care for your tattoo and mine healed absolutely without any complications at all. I'd go back for more ink in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish Watermelon tattoo made me feel welcome and my custom wanted. My previous experience at a tattoo parlour had not been great. But here it’s night and day. From walking in being made to feel welcome to just feeling my custom was wanted. I had a wee wobble a few days before coming in and honestly it was handled beautifully. Thais’ design was just perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I felt so at ease and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. I cannot thank you all enough. As Arnie says… “I’ll be back”.

Fantastic experience: I had a lovely tattoo experience at Watermelon Tattoo with their guest artist, Juanita Plata. She let me see the design ahead of the day so I could see it and make any tweaks to the design. On the day I was greeted in the studio by Gino the studio dog who was very friendly then Juanita showed me the reworked design and made the stencil so we could look at placement. Everyone in the studio was really nice and I felt very welcomed. The tattoo went smoothly and I was given lots of advice on aftercare including a flyer with all the instructions which I could refer back to. I was also able to buy tattoo cream from them for the aftercare which they had a vegan option. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I am so glad that I found Watermelon tattoo! I was looking for somewhere where I wouldn't feel intimidated, I loved the design of the tattoo artist and wouldn't smell bad. Watermelon was perfect! All of the staff where polite and welcoming, the shop was so clean and my tattoo artist (Nat) was so incredibly talented! I met with her to discuss what I wanted from the tattoo and I knew that she would understand what I was looking for, so much so that I wasn't worried at all when she said I wouldn't see the design until the day of the tattoo! When I came to have the tattoo, I immediately loved the design and any changes I wanted Nat made right in front of me. I sat for 5/6 hours and I felt comfortable and listened to the whole time. The other artists where welcoming and warm. I would highly recommend Watermelon tattoo! Thanks massively again :)

Fantastic experience: I was able to get booked in last minute with Noemi and I am SO GLAD it worked out!! Her artwork and watercolor style is stunning and her speed is legendary. A 5 inch full watercolor piece took less than 2.5 hours including the consultation. I'm blown away, thank you to the whole staff for being so friendly and giving me the best souvenir

Fantastic experience: The staff was incredible and so sweet. I asked for a bigger tattoo on my ribs, but the pain became too intense. Noemi and the rest of the staff were extremely understanding and kind and offered a new session plan to make sure I get my dream tattoo done in a way that is less painful. I was so embarrassed for wasting Noemi's time, but everyone was extremely nice and I look forward to having this tattoo done at this studio. I 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had the best walk in session today at Watermelon Tattoo. I came with my friend and we both wanted to get some fine line artwork. The team were super friendly and so attentive. I got a free certificate and cute Polaroid picture to commemorate my first tattoo and my friend was gifted some Watermelon Tattoo merch as it was her birthday. Throughout the whole process I felt very taken care of and comfortable. They have a lovely studio and an even lovelier team! I would absolutely recommend this place <3

Fantastic experience: Had my first tattoo and it was a great experience! It didn't hurt as much as anticipated, so that was a plus! Everyone was so friendly and willing to answer any questions or concerns I had. Noemi did my tattoo and was always wanting to make sure I was comfortable and happy with the results. I'm so happy with the results and would definitely love to go there again! I highly recommend Watermelon Tattoo! It's a very chilled out environment that I think is great for those that may be a bit nervous.

Fantastic experience: I've been following Watermelon on social media for some time and had the opportunity to get tattooed by Noemi at the end of January. Everyone in the studio was so friendly. I love both pieces that Noemi did for me. They're healing beautifully. Noemi is patient and a perfectionist (which I appreciate). I will definitely return for more tattoos next time I visit Edinburgh.
