Fantastic experience: Had my wife and two kids getting ears pierced, staff couldn't have been nicer, was very clean.

Fantastic experience: Got my contraconch pierced while in Edinburgh on a holiday. Sarah was absolutely amazing, so knowledgable and made the whole process very quick and easy! I have had many piercings in the past and can honestly say Sarah is the best piercer I’ve ever had. She also helped and advised me on irritation bumps I had on a past helix piercing done elsewhere. Fantastic experience: Had a few piercings done here, both times with Ellie. Could not recommend this place enough, not only was Ellie friendly and super helpful in calming nerves and giving advice on how to look after the piercings, but the receptionists are also very welcoming and professional so you feel like you are in good hands! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting piercings!

Negative experience: Got three piercings back in 2021: forward helix, tragus and a belly piercing. I had to take out the belly piercing and forward helix in 2025 because it was not healing! New piercer informed me that it was because it had been pierced at the wrong angel. This was YEARS after and at least three return appointments informing this studio that neither were healing - they told me it was due to the piercing that they switched twice. I've got 12 piercings - none as bad expereince as this. (Tragus is holding strong)

Fantastic experience: It was my first tattoo, and I was really excited but also anxious. Petra was my artist, and I wanted some customization. She did a great job modifying the design and made me feel very comfortable and less anxious. I’m really happy with the result and I’m hoping to get more in the future dont know when, but I definitely will!

Fantastic experience: Had my first ever piercing put in by Sarah. At first I was nervous, but she was so kind and professional that I was quickly put at ease. This shop is wonderful, all the staff are so sweet and fun (extra shout out to reception who is just the sweetest person and so patient). This is where you want your body art done, hands down!

Fantastic experience: Had a Hawaiian upper arm sleeve done via Marc Diamond. Had very specific idea and request with AI mock ups - Marc absolutely smashed it. Looked way better than the AI design. The guy is an absolute master. Cool guy as well. Would 100% recommend him in a heartbeat. Very professional. Worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: Was super nervous getting my first piercing and the wonderful lady who gave me my piercing was so so professional and kind with me today, so happy with the result too. Wish I knew her name to shout her out, but anyways so so happy with the service. Definitely would recommend.

Negative experience: I got my rook pierced here just over 4 years ago by Gill and regret it very much. This is all because of it being pierced incorrectly and not told I don’t have the best anatomy. I have had a ton of issues with it and found out today when looked at by another piercer as to why it still wasn’t healing was due to many issues in it being pierced. Not only was it done at the wrong angel and too far to the side (towards the thicker skin) it was pierced even when my anatomy wasn’t really correct. Additionally it was pierced at a straight angel which is not how it should be done. This all meant that because the tissue was thicker and done at the wrong angel it was just a ton of issues for 4 years and had to be taken out. I was very disappointed to find this out today as the experience when I had it done was fine and seemingly no issues . I hope in the future they will tell people with the incorrect anatomy they’re unable to have it done and pierce correctly. I hope this isn’t an ongoing issue as it was very painful to have.

Fantastic experience: My little girl came today and had her ears pierced by Sarah. She made my daughter so comfortable and did not rush her when she wanted to chat to Sarah more. She calmed her nerves and made her laugh so many times. My daughter has said so many times “the lady was so so nice”. We highly recommend this shop. It was a lovely experience

Fantastic experience: My 9 year old had her ears pierced by Sarah in May. After much procrastination by my girl at the appointment Sarah worked with her so she was happy -all went well and both ears pierced. (She had preciously had a gun piercing which was not a good experience.)We have had great service since, including emergency jewellery changes at short notice. I have also had a second lobe piercing and am now sporting a helix which has been painless. Great and friendly service..my daughter also wants a second lobe piercing. Highly recommend but u could get addicted!

Fantastic experience: I came in through a recommendation from a nearby studio. I was visiting Edinburgh from the US and a new piercing of mine had just lost its earring for the third time. I was so disappointed. I walked in asking for Sarah, and even though the studio wasn’t supposed to take walk ins for another 1.5 hours, she took me back straight away, helped me with kindness and efficiency, and got me all sorted out. As a tourist visiting the city I could not have had a better experience at this parlor and, most importantly, my earring is still intact!!

Positive experience: they were good with piercings just my nose piercing has been done a bit high up and my belly piercing the skin is really thin and it is not rejecting it it has been like that ever since i got it done and it is now fully healed staff were nice and friendly though

Negative experience: Called in if they have time for walk ins. Since I was 3 hours away. No problem they said. We have someone free. Once there, they didn’t have time for me. All the way for nothing. Can’t recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a few piercings done at studio 13 over the past couple of years and Sarah in particular has always been super friendly and welcoming! She was great at explaining the process as well as helping to easing the nerves of getting a piercing. Despite the fact that during my most recent visit, piercing appointments were fully booked for the day I never once felt rushed and felt completely comfortable and reassured the entire process. The studio itself is clean, sterile and well presented and the jewellery they sell has never given me any issues. I simply couldn’t recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: Brought my 14 year old daughter in to get her 3rd lobes and helix pierced today with the lovely Ellie! Absolutely great from start to finish, my girlie was really nervous but Ellie put her at ease and didn’t treat her like a wee girl which was definitely appreciated!! We will see you in 6/8 weeks for her jewellery change! Also thanks so much to Ellie and Lucinda (I think that’s the lovely girls name) on reception when I lost my phone and was in a panic, find my phone showed it at the studio but it was in a plant pot outside (think I must have put it there when rummaging in my bag for something when we left! ) I bumped into Ellie on way back to studio and she thankfully called and Lucinda (I’m so sorry if that’s not your name!) waited for me to get up to studio even tho she had finished work.. I was so stressed out but got a lovely hug from both of them and was so grateful to get my phone back!! Thank you again ladies and we will see you soon xx

Fantastic experience: Brilliant place to go to get piercings done. Went in yesterday as a walk in with my youngest and we both got ear piercings done. Gill who did them was amazing. Really lovely and clearly expert at what she does. The lass on the front of house (I’m afraid I didn’t catch her name) taking peoples names and details was also brilliant - helpful, friendly and really efficient at getting it all organised. Brilliant experience thank you.

Fantastic experience: Update : My daughter will be 11 tomorrow, and this is the third time I've taken her to Studio XIII. Sarah has pierced her ears three times, and every time has been excellent. I can't recommend them enough. I'm sure we'll be back soon. Thanks. Excellent!! We had an appointment to get my 8 year old daughters ears pierced. The customer service and care from all the staff we spoke to was first rate. Sarah did the piercings, she spoke directly to my daughter and checked everything with me. She made my little girl feel comfortable, explained everything to her before starting, and was very patient. I would highly recommend Studio XIII for kids getting their ears pierced. They are a lot safer, cleaner, and more professional than certain places that use a gun! Thank you for looking after my little girl. She is delighted.

Fantastic experience: Cannot say enough about Studio XIII. Decided very last-minute to get some tattoos while on holiday, and they were able to accommodate us same day for two walk-in appointments. There was a payment issue (completely my fault) and the staff resolved it with no trouble at all even after we had left Edinburgh. Not to mention their artists did a fantastic job. Will definitely drop by the next time I’m in Edinburgh. Thanks again, Studio XIII!

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Studio XIII for many years now, getting piercings that are well planned so they look great now, but also can be added to the in the future. 100% would recommend. There are nice options for piercing jewellery, and the team take the time to make sure you are happy before and after the work is done.

Fantastic experience: I got my earlobes pierced by Sarah on Halloween. Booking was super easy and she really took some time to find the best placement. I had botched misplaced earlobe piercings from before and she worked around those and made it super symmetrical. Piercing was quick and painless and she gave good and easy to follow instructions for healing. Now I only need to find the perfect new earrings

Fantastic experience: My friend spoke highly of this place so I thought I’d give it a bash. So me and friend decided to get matching tattoos and our Tattoo Artist, Carni was an absolute pleasure to be with. He was just all around a lovely guy, he spoke to us both and best of all, he knew what the tattoo represented (being a Ghost fan and all). The receptionist was lovely and understanding. The layout of the shop is spectacular. I will 100% be back!

Fantastic experience: Had my ears re-pierced by Sarah, who was absolutely AMAZING. Extremely professional (but super personable!), put me right at ease, and made sure to check exactly what I wanted done (e.g. confirming whether I wanted the piercing in the same spot as the original hole or not). She also very patiently answered all of my many questions, and never made me feel rushed. The piercing itself was painless – basically just felt like someone had pinched my earlobe for a second or two! Would highly recommend both Studio XIII and Sarah specifically for anyone looking to get a piercing done! Thanks for a wonderful experience :)

Fantastic experience: Just got my first tattoo done today and honestly I couldn't be happier, the artist Carni did a fantastic job and he was so nice and understanding about the fact that it was my first tattoo, highly recommended. The studio itself was chill and the reception staff were great, really attentive. Overall will definitely be coming back here whenever I get my next one done, and I'd recommend it to anyone in Edinburgh looking to get some tattoo work done.

Fantastic experience: 5 star treatment Never had a tattoo so made contact with Marc for advice on my leg sleave. He listened and reassured me regarding the design and work involved. On day of first session again reassured me and during the procedure praised me for being a trooper. Got another 2 sessions with Marc and genuinely looking forward to them, his experience is so reassuring and good chat when you need it. Thanks again Marc and team 1st tattoo of many I'm sure

Negative experience: Not massively impressed by the customer service. My 16 year old daughter was late for her appointment due to her bus being stuck in Festival traffic and was told she’d have to rebook and pay full amount again. Whilst I appreciate that it was inconvenient that she was 10 mins late, the fact that they said they are fully booked for the rest of the day and tomorrow, seems very harsh that she was not at least offered a discount on the next booking. Won’t be returning.

Has done both first piercings for my teen (she did a wonderful job, great experience ) and also easily putting earrings into previous piercings I thought were long closed for me! Can’t say enough good things, so friendly and informative, everything clean and hygienic, and so knowledgeable and talented. We will only go to Sarah from now on for any future piercings!

Fantastic experience: Recently got my first tattoo from here and would recommend the place to everyone looking to get a tattoo. The place is really easy to find and is really clean and fresh both inside and out. All the staff are super friendly and relaxed and the whole process is streamlined so it’s completely stress free from enquiry to the appointment itself. They ask a few questions upfront about your design and ideas to make sure you get an artist which suits you best. The place was really quite busy while I was there which is always a good sign and you can see why! Even though they are busy they still took the time to help answer everyone’s questions and offer advice and they never made you feel rushed or uncomfortable. I got my tattoo done by Marc who was a really great guy. He explained the whole process, talked through the designs and took breaks whenever I needed. Really happy with the outcome!

Fantastic experience: Looooved the aesthetic of the place. The ladies at the from were super nice and sparked up a lovely conversation :) these were my first piercings and I was hella nervous! But the process was very simple, my artist did some placements (ear lobes) and I checked if they were okay. Once that was done, he explained the process to me and that I should expect a sting (pain scale 4/10, as expected). Sterile needles were used (not the gun) and they in less than 10 mins I was done. I was briefed on how to care for my piercings (which are healing nicely by the way, just ensure you clean em twice daily) and that’s a wrap! Had a lovely experience and would definitely go back should I need any more

Fantastic experience: Studio XIII has become my go-to piercing place, and I don't even live in Scotland. I have gotten several piercings done by Sara and couldn't be happier! The atmosphere is chill, friendly, and (most importantly) the studio is highly professional. I can't help but feel at ease there. Studio XIII is also affordable, I find; they have a good variety of jewelry options and the appointments are quick, and easy to plan. Good website design wins the day :) I highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant I booked in for my 10year old daughters ears to get pierced. Sarah and ALL the staff there was absolutely amazing with her. she was extremely anxious and nervous but they took time reassuring her and answering any questions she had. totally went miles and beyond for her. I also booked myself in for my 1st ever piercing (nipple) and Sarah was fantastic. very knowledgeable, reassuring, professional and had a certain quality that makes you feel at ease. Talked me through everything from start to finish. Area was very clean and well organised. if I was to ever get my other nipple done or any other piercing, this is where I would go! 10/10 ⭐️

Fantastic experience: Just got my first piercings by Ellie, she was incredibly friendly and always made sure I was okay after the initial piercing itself, which is just super kind. The process was pretty quick and didn’t hurt too much, again Ellie was very kind and asked if I was feeling okay after every piercing was complete (I got 3 in total) The interior of the shop was very cosy and the decor was very ‘healthy’ lots of photos of tattoos (which I assume were gotten here) and even piercings on display so you know what you’re getting. Lastly, the price was perfectly acceptable but I would not mind paying more because I greatly appreciate the satisfying expertise of my piercer today. 5 stars for the entire experience! -Louis

Fantastic experience: My daughter has had all her piercings done at Studio XIII and I can now understand why. From phoning to check availability, walking in the shop door and having my piercing, every step of the journey was warm, professional and so reassuring. Everyone seemed so happy, it was such a positive experience. I was randomly allocated Ellie, she was fabulous, what a superstar, she coped with me wittering on about why I was there, what I’d like done and how I was hoping the piercing would look. I’m soooo pleased with it. It was definitely worth waiting for and absolutely the right place to have it done. Thank you! Fantastic experience: We went to get my daughter’s ears pierced and Sarah was fantastic. My daughter was very anxious, Sarah was great and had the right things to say to calm the nerves and all went very smoothly. We are very pleased with the result. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I had the lovely Sarah do my ear lobes for me. From a piercing over 30 years ago that was too high she sorted that out for me and an additional set of piercings behind that and on the other ear. Lovely atmosphere when I walked in and Sarah quite quickly put me at ease. I'll most certainly be back and request Sarah for future piercings and highly recommend her to any friends.

Fantastic experience: Studio 13 was great with a 10 and 12 year old for earrings needling. One redo, and one new. Patient with each and clear in explaining cleaning regimes and maintenence, they took the time needed. A clean environment in which to trust getting any body art done. I would recommend studio 13 off the High Street to everyone.

Fantastic experience: I traveled over from the States and while I was in Edinburgh, I wanted to get a tattoo! It was so easy to scheduled an appointment online, and they were very friendly and responsive. Thais did my tattoo and she did an amazing job! So personable, professional, and kind. Highly recommend!
