He was so attentive to the alignment and placement to explaining what he was doing and why. It really was a great experience. He also had an apprentice there too that was great. Fantastic experience: I recently had 4 piercings done here—3 on the ear and 1 nostril. Marc is super knowledgeable and makes sure to explain anything you need to know about the piercing and healing process. The shop has a classic vibe and is clean. I haven’t gotten a tattoo, but there are a lot of great flash options, and I know they do custom work, too. If you’re looking for a piercing or tattoo, I definitely recommend checking them out!

I got married 3 weeks ago and wanted Mrs. Bates they fit me right in no problem. Elba is not heavy handed I have tattoos all over my body and she was gentle where I barely felt anything and me and my husband couldn’t be happier. Thank you guys will definitely come again. Fantastic experience: Ever since 2020, Heart In Mind Tattoo has always been my go to since my brother recommend me. Specifically to Marc. All the times I’ve been there, everyone has been welcoming, always always clean, and get right to business. Awesome to chat with and are priced reasonably. There will be people that will complain, but remember: You get what you pay for. With Marc, every cent is worth it. I’ve gotten two tattoos, and just today I got my septum done. The apprentice was great too! Was happy to be apart of a lesson on septum piercings and they were very attentive. So was I because It’s interesting to learn. If you need to get any tattoo work or piercings done, definitely come here. Take it from me. I moved to Florida and came back to get it done because I trust Heart in Mind to always be 200% with me, and I know I’ll be taken care of.

Fantastic experience: A special shout out to Marc for saving my back dermal (left one only) that keeps rejecting unfortunately . This time it came out for the first time ever of having them for almost two years. He wasn’t the one that installed them, but the person that did moved out of the state and I had to find someone quickly before it was too late. I came across this shop I gave them a call and he was able to look at it the same day. He definitely saved the day! He was very kind , patient & also made me feel super comfortable. He gave me tips on how to clean it and we just pray that it will go back to normal lol Which was MARCH 26th I was serviced by Marc. Today APRIL 14th it’s now back to normal and looking better good. I will go back to change my other top to a bigger size but other than that the customer service was great. He was awesome thank you again.

Negative experience: Very inconsiderate just want to make money any way that they can. Literally walked in with my rook IN already and asked if they can simply screw the top on because I live alone.. which should take literally FIVE seconds. And it was a hassle. Said they had to sterilize it, wanted to charge me $5, and when I went to pay they said cash only. Sometimes it’s nice to just lend a helping hand to someone that comes to you for 5 seconds of help. Will never come here again.

We had them copy our grandma’s signature right from a card and they did it really well. It is very clear that they pride themselves on being sanitary and really take it seriously. He said I made him feel like he was a bad tattoo artist because I told him to redo something. He was getting upset that he had to use a new needle for something that he messed up on LOL.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience getting a tattoo with Marc. I am from out of state and was looking for a place that had a good reputation and do walk ins. He did really good fine line script work for my wrist that is healing beautifully. Marc’s demeanor was continually calm and professional. Note this is a cash only place so make sure to stop at the bank prior! There was an atm on site though and he was kind enough to allow me to go to the bank while my friend was getting her tattoo done. The place is nice and he is considerate to include his clients in his posts if desired :) I would definitely recommend his shop to my family who do live in NJ/NY

Fantastic experience: I got the snake eye on the 4th of July and the guy that did it was amazing he also replaced the stud on my dermal. He's definitely my go to for now on. It's bad I don't remember his name but I need ur help to push my tongue ring through I got it most of the way I just need it pushed through the bottom but yea I love this shop.

I had my 3rd lobe piercing done previously from another shop and it was uneven but got it redone here and it looks much better now. He also had an adorable dog that made the experience 10× better. Lucia went above and beyond to make my concept a reality, from start to finish! I really recommend her as an artist. I've gone to her with a bunch of ideas. She's always taken a ton of time out to go over everything, in the absolute MOST detail with me. Letting me know what would work, and what might not. Fantastic experience: 3rd time at the establishment with artist, Mark, who is a doll. This particular time, was for my daughter's ear piercings, I know, pretty simple. But it's always a pleasure to walk in without a worry in the world. This is now, my official, local tattoo/piercing spot! Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: Marc was kind of obnoxious. Made it seem like I needed to book an appointment when the 2 days I went, no one came in to ask for him. He took a really long time and tried to recommend adding his own touch to what I wanted, like bro, I had a specific piece. Place smelled like dog which was kinda off putting. The art from here is underwhelming so go in with a specific design. Color work nothing to rave home about. Check the instagram to judge tor yourself. If you want actual art go somewhere else. Contrary to the owners response to my original review about not getting a piece done, I did end up getting tattooed there and made sure it was something that could have easily been stenciled.

Fantastic experience: Came out better than I imagined. Was a nice simple template and Marc did his thing. Cleaned it up and allowed the tattoo to pop. The customer service from the go was amazing in the shop and all the artist there treat you like a close friend. I definitely will be coming back!

Denise was our artist and she was wonderful she is a true artist the attention and detail she has is amazing she becomes completely immersed into her work and she makes sure everything is perfect. I got a good sized tattoo of a tiger on my rib/sideboob, and Marc helped me every step of the way from designing, choosing the size, to the aftercare instructions. He was professional and made sure I was comfortable the whole time and he paid attention to detail (clearly - the tattoo is perfect.) I made my appointment straight through Instagram DM’s too, it was really easy. One thing I recommend is either taking public transit or walking, because parking is hard to get (obvi - it’s in jersey city on central ave).

Fantastic experience: Came in for a belly button piercing and had a great experience. Marc was awesome and he explained everything from how it was going to be done to the aftercare. He was very welcoming even though we were the last customers of the day lol. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: Just got my nose ring swapped from a stud to a hoop by Mark at Heart in Mind. He was friendly and professional, taking the time to make sure my new hoop was aligned perfectly, and explaining everything while he worked. It’s nice to have a quality neighborhood tattoo & piercing shop like this in the heights.

Fantastic experience: I went with a friend to get our ears pierced. I got my conch done and my friend got both of her helix’s done. I called ahead and made an appointment the same day. Very friendly and explained after-care gave two options either saline wound wash or unscented soap. Marc was our piercer. He was patient with both of us when deciding the placement of the piercing. It was a great experience, 10/10 would recommend:)

Fantastic experience: One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a tattoo and piercing parlor! I got my nipples pierced by Marc and when I say it was the least painful body modification I’ve gotten, I mean it. The set up, piercing, and aftercare instructions were quick, informative, sterile, and professional. Definitely going back for future piercings!

Fantastic experience: Mark was my artist and he was great. Quick and light technique while being precise and complete. He was very helpful with assisting me make small choices and changes to help me figure out what exactly I wanted. He was very friendly too, even helping me decide my next netflix binge. The tattoo looks fantastic and wasn't painful at all. I'll definitely go back for more. The shop has a great vibe to it and I felt very comfotable and relaxed.
