Fantastic experience: Came in with a rough idea and left with something way better than I imagined. Adrian really collaborated with me on the design and made sure every detail felt intentional. He was also super patient with me as I went over every detail. The whole shop was super clean, organized, and genuinely welcoming. Everyone was friendly and made the experience comfortable from the start. The process was smooth, professional, and honestly just a great vibe all around. The tattoo itself is incredibly clean and exactly what I was hoping for. It was dedicated to my wife so I wanted it to be perfect and Adrian went above and beyond. Fantastic experience: Bang Bang was amazing from end to end. Jay Shin was elite! We honestly could not have asked for a better artist. Not only is he insanely talented, he's also extremely professional and an overall super nice guy. I've already talked with him about some future work I'll likely want done with him. I think in general some advanced planning is necessary to book an appointment, but worth calling in to see if anyone is doing walk-ins. We got extremely lucky as Jay Shin had a cancellation that day and so could fit both me and my wife in for sessions.

Fantastic experience: Hands down, Bang Bang is the best shop I’ve ever been to—and I’ve been to shops in Dallas, LA, Oklahoma, Florida, and now New York. The people are incredible (special shoutout to Eli and the front desk), and the artists are next level. Adrian is amazing; I can’t say enough about him and his work. The shop even reached back out to me the same day after I thought they were fully booked, and managed to fit me in around my flights home, having me come in early to sit with Adrian. After this experience, it’s going to be hard to go anywhere else for a tattoo. .

Fantastic experience: Excellent! The only place I'd go for tattoos. Period. The artistry and expertise is unmatched. Zee was lovely and easy and so talented. My only suggestion would be to give an after care card or email with the dos and don'ts. The three of us getting tattoos that day all received different verbal instructions, so it would be helpful to have something in writing so we get it right and don't forget. Thank you for another great experience!

Fantastic experience: What an amazing experience. I got five fine-line tattoos from Maria Fernandez, and she did such an amazing job. She was fast, kind, and had a great eye and steady hand. I'm completely in love with my new tattoos, I wouldn't change anything about them. Bang Bang is also a great studio. They offer after-care products, lots of snacks and beverages, and a gorgeous space. All the staff were so nice, and they followed up to see how I was doing. I also appreciate that they were doing a coat drive for charity. 10/10 experience, worth every penny, will be back for my next tattoo.

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo done in September and another in November - both fine line animal productions done by Jay Shin. I am a person that researches to make the best decisions to get the best results. I wanted the tattoos to be outstanding pieces of art and worth my flying in. Based on all my research, I chose Bang Bang studio and Jay Shin. Outstanding is what I wanted and outstanding is what I got, and then some. I want to give a word of praise for the work that was done by Jay Shin, but I cannot come up with just one word. So, I invented one, Jay Shin and his work are tremenfantastremarknificent. I will be back for another one and probably a few more after that.

Fantastic experience: Bang Bang is not your average tattoo shop! I was recently there to get the start of my half sleeve with Maria Fernandez (an amazing fine like artist). There was clear communication from the studio prior to my appointment. They were super straightforward about pricing and taxes since I was coming from out of state. They also shared with me that they were doing a coat drive while I would be there which I think is seriously wonderful! The shop is gorgeous. Lots of marble and the black and white aesthetic was giving museum vibes…I felt like a walking masterpiece thanks to Maria! The downstairs area is a lounge where you can hang if you need a few minutes, has a fully stocked fridge, and snacks galore. The tattooing space is open and felt very comfortable to be in. Honestly, it was so nice to get to look around and see what other artists were creating while I was sitting for my session. A little bit of a distraction and also lots of respect and inspiration for their craft! I’m looking forward to heading back up in the new year to finish off my half sleeve and would recommend everyone checks the studio and artists out if you’re looking for an epic quality piece.

Fantastic experience: The front desk staff at BangBang was super helpful, friendly, and patient with me and my wife’s walk-in and to our surprise Anna was able to book me time with Jay. Jay was very kind and he listened to my tattoo request and gave me some good guidance on size and placement. The process was smooth and the outcome was better than expected. Negative experience: I’ve been a tattoo artist coming up on 10 years and been getting tattooed for 20, and this place is still the worst tattoo experience I’ve ever had. I got tattooed here years ago after a close friend recommended one of their artists. Paid the tolls and made the trek to the city to meet with my artist and explain my concept, which at the time he seemed excited about. This tattoo was extremely meaningful to me as it was for my Mom, who at that time was still alive. The deposit amount was $500 which I had no issue paying as I knew this shop was well known and Nico had a phenomenal portfolio. I felt like I was in good hands. Upon arriving for my appointment a while later, my artist showed me a generic photo he had gotten off google. I want to mention he knew I was an artist myself so putting no effort into the design was a shock to me. Not that I ever expect special treatment but come on. The biggest issue was I had told him the tattoo needed to be a specific place that my mom took me to as a child and explained this in full detail. He took notes and even said how cool of an idea it was. I told him my dismay about the design and instead of being patient with me, he got visibly irritated and said he was going to go smoke a blunt in the back and redraw something for us? Like I get this is an NYC shop, but artists shouldn’t be smoking before they tattoo. As a shop owner myself now, my artists know they can do whatever they want when they aren’t at work but any sort of substance use isn’t allowed during shop hours to ensure the clients get the absolute best results and experience. This was not the case at Bang Bang. I should have left then but was younger and naive. I figured Nico would redraw a design that incorporated my idea. I want to say at least an hour later and me sitting there awkwardly debating what to do, he came back out and showed me a design that was acceptable but still not what I had asked for. Looking back, I shouldn’t have gotten this tattoo and that’s my fault, but I didn’t want to waste his time and mine. I overheard a few times the other workers talking about Rihanna and other celebrities that came to this shop and realized that I probably made the wrong choice. They definitely made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We started the tattoo and it only took around 4/5 hours and I was told how after I left, I would be forgotten about , which in the middle of a tattoo is the last thing someone wants to hear. The whole thing was honestly horrible. He rushed through the tattoo and it looks nothing like his other work. He made it VERY apparent that he was not into this design at all. He didn’t even seem like he wanted to be there.And it gets worse. I go to pay and am told I have to pay the artist for the ENTIRE DAY despite the design being wrong, him smoking weed and taking his time and then doing a smaller piece. I paid almost 3 grand for a tattoo that is a little over palm sized. I was completely blown away. I shouldn’t have to pay for him to go smoke weed and hang out with the other employees. I myself do not charge clients for anything other than time tattooing and deposits cover the drawing time for designs. I have never been treated this poorly in a tattoo shop in my life and I’ve been tattooed all over the country by some of the best artists in the industry. I have commented on the IG of this shop expressing my concerns about my experience and they kept saying oh we will make it right. After many times of asking how, they never answer. No one has ever reached out to me from here, they just want to save face on social media. Unless you are a celebrity, you should probably look for a different shop. You might ask me why it took me so long to leave this review but my mother just passed away over the summer and I am finally going to have the tattoo redone by someone else.I also wanted to give Bang Bang a chance to actually make this right which they just ignored me so here I am.This isn’t what tattooing is about at all and every client should be treated as professionally as possible, no matter who they are.

Fantastic experience: 1st tattoo I was kind of torn on who should Do it. What I wanted wasn’t that big but very detailed. I looked up Michele Santanas stuff on instagram and she possessed everything I was looking for. She killed it! Thanks Michele you brought my vision to life and now it’ll last forever. I couldn’t recommend her enough.

They provided me a paper kind of divider/partition when I wanted privacy during my tattoo appointment and helped me work through the details of my design with poise and dedicated love. Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience with Bang Bang Tattoo for the Celtic symbol I had done on my left forearm by tattoo artist Jay Shin. The staff are really helpful and friendly and the shop is top rate. You get drinks and snacks! The artwork on my tattoo is beautiful and I am really pleased with how it turned out. Highly recommend. They are not inexpensive but I think really worth the $$.

She was incredibly thorough, thoughtful and collaborative. I felt so comfortable with her and the entire staff at Bang Bang. I asked the studio to choose the artist best suited for the concept, and they recommended Saint and I honestly don’t think they could have made a better call. Saint went above and beyond my expectations. The level of precision and detail was extraordinary, every detail perfectly captured, with shading that recreated the glossy, reflective texture of rubber latex flawlessly. Truly impeccable work. This studio delivers a boutique, premium experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the entire team made me feel well cared for. Saint was meticulous about stencil sizing and placement — I think we repositioned it at least six times before landing on the perfect location. That level of patience and commitment says everything about her dedication to the craft. During the session, Saint checked in frequently to make sure I was comfortable and took well-timed breaks throughout. The experience was smooth, relaxed, and enjoyable throughout what ended up being a 7-8 hour session.

My family literally said he would be painting cathedrals in Florence or Rome if he was born hundreds of years ago. Yes it is more expensive than some other places but it is worth every single penny. The staff at Bang Bang are accommodating and so enthusiastic about the craft. I called ahead to see who was taking walk-ins that day and when I found out it was Zee, I immediately made plans to go. Fantastic experience: I texted the studio with some reference images, inquiring if any artists were available for walk in. They responded quickly with artists who could match the style, also shared their portfolios and hourly rates. I showed up less than an hour later and it was smooth sailing. We got a tour of the studio, complimentary beverages/wifi, then met my artist Jay Shin and worked on the tattoo design/size/placement together. I have the artistic creativity of a rock and couldn’t articulate my feedback that well but he came up with something better than I could ever imagine and made it work elegantly with my other tattoo. I trusted him to make it happen, while he worked diligently and made the session comfortable/easy. It’s a sick tattoo and I feel lucky with how everything worked out so well like timing and artist availability. Very happy with the quality and detail. Definitely would come back again in the future, to Jay especially. I got lots of positive reactions from friends but also compliments from random strangers in nyc, which I’m not used to but hey it’s pretty cool. I appreciate how friendly and energetic people were at BangBang, helpful answering questions over text, and arranging appointment day of with the right artist. Expensive for sure, but if it’s within your budget, I think well worth the time and investment as I have no regrets at all!

They also provided refreshments which helps a lot during longer sessions. Ghinkos’ work is superb and she made sure I was 100% happy with everything. Will be back!

Lovely studio and friendly, easy-going staff as well. Good to know is that (at least for me as a European) are definitely at the higher end (I think, at least ), for me it was % worth it as it was professional, friendly, exceptionally fine line art so overall: amazing experience and I will come again when I am in NYC.

Megan, in particular, was exceptional and reached out to ensure I felt prepared. She was so welcoming and accommodating! Mr. K is among one of the best tattoo artists alive and being a client of his only further proved that. I have been an admirer of Mr K.s work for years now and finally had the opportunity to schedule an appt with him. It was insane to watch him work in real-time -- nothing short of incredible. His style is so precise and distinct, and he makes a point to work with each individual client to come up with a truly custom design. He took both our ideas to inform his artistic vision for my tattoos and then he free-handed everything. It turned out AMAZING. I could not be happier with the results! I really appreciated the way Mr K. took my feedback and either adjusted on the fly with ease, or pushed back at times because he has such a keen eye for what is most visually appealing in terms of spatial arrangement, placement, and sizing etc. In doing so, I could tell he genuinely cared about the outcome. Not to mention how meticulous and thoughtful he was while drafting every last detail. Mr K., like the rest of the artists at Bang Bang I'm sure, is at the very top of his craft. Fantastic experience: Josh definitely is my first choice. Losing my first time for Josh. Since this was my very first tattoo, I came in with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Josh went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and supported throughout the process. He patiently explained each step, gave me a clear overview of what to expect, and even took the time to introduce me to the Bang Bang team and studio, which made the entire experience feel welcoming and professional. As for the tattoo itself, I could not be happier. The design and framing that Josh created are exceptional, he has an incredible eye for detail and artistry. The piece has only grown more meaningful to me over time, and I truly feel that choosing to have it done at Bang Bang, especially with Josh, was one of the best decisions I have made.

Fantastic experience: I worked with María, whom I had been corresponding with for several months prior. We have a goal of creating a full sleeve piece and worked on completing my forearm while integrating two existing pieces into the work. I barely felt anything as she started and the work that was done, and dialogue María gave throughout the session was perfect. We had a real back and forth and I loved how she was adding elements via free hand and we were able to make changes to the piece on the fly that made the tattoo turn out as well as it did. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with her as we complete my sleeve.

Positive experience: Overall had a great experience at the studio. The wait time was a little bit long, but that is to be expected. I would have preferred some size options for my design as I feel that I would have been happier with a smaller size. But, overall I loved the design my artist created had everything I wanted in the design. Great experience.

Fantastic experience: This is my second tattoo at Bang Bang and I can’t speak more highly of the experience. You came for the exceptionally talented artists, but you’ll stay for the professional and welcoming staff. Bang Bang has you sorted for before, during, and after tattoo care.

The vibes are always friendly and professional at bang bang from the initial outreach for availability to deposits and questions about potential pieces and ideas. Every single person was warm and friendly which isn’t always the standard in tattoo shops so for me that’s a big asset.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience overall at Bang Bang and with the artist Zee. I’m in New York from San Diego for a week and they were able to accommodate me last minute with no issues/attitude that you get from some studios. They chose my artist for me based on my design. Zee was warm and put me at ease. We collaborated on the design when I arrived at the studio and he was super nice throughout. I was in and out in about an hour and am so happy with the result. The lines are amazing. I will definitely be back!

I have been following Bang Bang for years on Instagram, and I’ve always appreciated the creativity of each artist. They’re always on the cutting edge, and they deliver. You knew from the beginning they wanted to curate a meaningful experience for me, and were happy to answer any questions along the way. The shop itself is beautiful, bursting at the seams with personality. The buzz and the energy inside are worth the trip alone. It is so immaculate, relaxing, and inviting. It’s a perfect space to create and receive art. I was honored to work with Solar, an incredible and kind artist. I knew her style would be an ideal fit. Her intricate and delicate line detail is stunning to say the least. Her designs are beautiful. My tattoo means so much to me, and it’s everything I wanted. Solar made it more meaningful and helped guide me with placement. She was a pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to work with her on the next one! Everyone and everything at the shop is first class all the way. I’ve also been using the Forever Care Kit, and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Overall wonderful day. I expected the artwork from Jay Shin to be incredible and he more than exceeded my expectations. What caught me by surprise, though, was the culture that is present at Bang Bang Grand. From the first time I called to spending the day there, my strong impression was that everyone working was glad to be there. The staff could not have been nicer or warmer and that really contributed to it being a lot more than just getting a tattoo, it was an overall great experience.

Fantastic experience: I was considering getting my first tattoo, and reached out to Bang Bang after my cousin said that her tattoo from the same location was still beautiful after 10 years. The service, kindness, and hospitality, from my initial inquiry, from the moment I walked in the door, and every single person I interacted with, was absolutely wonderful. The space is stunning, and has a clean, welcoming vibe. Such an oasis in the city. There is a great client lounge with a fully stocked fridge and hidden snack drawers, free wifi, and you can chill on couches, or there is a long table if you need to work. The artist stations are all open, but there is a ton of space between them, so it still feels like you and your artist are connected. I was fortunate enough to work with Lazer Liz, who has almost 20 years of experience, and brings her own philosophy to the art form. She was incredible, and I couldn't be happier with the result. I had a 2.5" fine line tattoo done on my forearm, and the highest level of pain I felt was the equivalent of scratching myself with a broken nail...and this was my first tattoo ever. She said it had to do with the location of the tattoo, and because it was a fine line tattoo (ink doesn't go as deep)? My cousin's fine line tattoo, also from Bang Bang, still looks great after a decade, so I look forward to proudly wearing Liz's work and my story on my arm for many years to come.

Fantastic experience: I saw Michelle for a touch up (of someone else’s work) and a new design I wished to incorporate into the piece. My experience was EVERYTHING! I was very satisfied. She was thoughtful, skilled and a pleasure to work with. Michelle is incredibly professional and ensured I knew exactly how to care for my tattoo. I can’t wait to see Michelle again and collaborate on a design.

Fantastic experience: Incredible space, clean (!!), kind and generous treatment all around, amazing artists - BANG BANG is legit the best. Full access to snacks and bevs is a really nice touch, made me feel like a VIP even though I was an ordinary first-timer. Will definitely go back. 11/10

Fantastic experience: Incredible 5 Star Experience @ Bang Bang NYC! First, I have been a fan of Bang Bang Studio for many many years, following all the artists and just in awe of the artist and work that comes out of this studio. About 6 months ago I knew I was going to NYC for a couple days to see Othello on broadway, shop, sight see, etc (I love NYC), I reached out to Bang Bang to see if there was a chance I would be able to get in during my extremely tight schedule, the customer service and management were delighted to talk with me and discuss my idea, travel plans, etc and immediately made me feel at ease and I was booked. I'm a fan of many of the artists at BB, and would of been comfortable booking with any of them, but I was incredibly pleased to be matched with ZEE! I fly in from Detroit, and as soon as I entered the doors of BB all of my nervousness turned into calm and peace as I knew I was in the right hands, from the friendly front desk staff to the assistants and artists, everyone was so nice and just an absolute pleasure to interact with. The studio itself is a beautiful piece of art full of minimalism and thoughtful design layered in stone, glass and steel wrapped in monochromatic palette, the plants and fish are a nice touch and the sounds and smells are a vibe, you can just tell the amount of thought put into this property and understand why there is nothing else like it, it's special. Now, none of that would matter if the art itself is not next level, and the quality that is coming out of this studio is just that, such a carefully curated stable of technically precise artists of vast disciplines that you can feel that they feed off of each others talents, and again everyone is so nice and kind which is a breath of fresh air. Now to show ZEE some love, what an incredible human, so talented and detailed, I couldn't have wished for a better experience, the care, precision and hospitality that he showed me for the 8 hours we spent together on a rainy Saturday might of been a normal day at the office for him but was extraordinary for me. I thank everyone @ Bang Bang NYC and cannot wait to come back for another visit!

My tattoo came out literally perfect - I cannot express how grateful I am for the care and attention to detail he gave. After I shared my concept, he took about 45 minutes to design the tattoo and returned with several creative and thoughtful options, each one beautifully rendered. The final design we landed on far exceeded my expectations — it captured the spirit of what I wanted in a way I didn’t even know was possible. The tattoo session itself lasted around four hours, and the experience was genuinely enjoyable. Mr. K is easy to talk to, warm, and present — the kind of person you’re grateful to sit with for a few hours. His technique, precision, and artistic eye are simply world-class. Afterward, Megan walked me through the aftercare process with such clarity and care, sending me off feeling supported and genuinely excited. Needless to say, the final tattoo is stunning — delicate, expressive, and technically flawless. I would recommend Bang Bang without hesitation. And as for Mr. K? 100 out of 10. One of the most sophisticated, thoughtful, and talented tattoo artists in the world.

I told her things I was looking for and she came up with a unique design for me. The studio was beautiful, clean and everyone was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Maria and the this studio. Fantastic experience: My session with Pawel was absolutely amazing. His work is nothing short of stunning. I couldn't have asked for a better artist. My only suggestion has nothing to do with Pawel. The music was roaring at a very high volume throughout the day. I get the aesthetic, but the music was overpowering.

Fantastic experience: Getting tattooed by Basil was an incredible experience. I don’t consider it just a tattoo, it’s truly a piece of art, beautiful in every sense: before, during, and after the process. The level of detail and definition in the tattoo is absolutely impressive. I wouldn’t consider getting tattooed by anyone else; only Basil. Alize, Robert, and the entire staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The entire experience was nothing short of amazing.
