He was incredibly reassuring, listened to her, included her in the procedure, answered all of her questions and explained everything for her understanding. Paul’s calm and friendly personality in pair with his professionalism made this a great experience. My daughter is very happy with her piercing.

Fantastic experience: Such a chill atmosphere - tea/coffee whenever I asked and great music taste! Bim was so gentle - I had two very long sessions with her to get my tattoos done and they look awesome. Very happy with the lines and the aftercare has been easy. She also stayed on to get the work done - the persistence and care she took was consistent from the first lines to the last bit of shading. Such a beautiful artist <3 both in personality and talent. Fantastic experience: Abbie is an amazing tattoo artist. I really wanted a design that would combine some key elements but work with the shape of my body. Designing on the spot Abbie was able to understand what I wanted to achieve and she delivered an incredible design that nailed the brief. Her colour work and detail is first rate. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Negative experience: EDIT: I was asked to email after leaving this review, which made it look like they took my concerns seriously. However, the response I received privately downplayed the issues as ‘unfinished work’ or ‘still healing,’ even though I was told the tattoo was finished and I am now 5 weeks on. The words they use in public don’t match how they treat you behind the scenes. I want to be clear that the shop itself is lovely – the receptionist was warm and welcoming, and the environment looked clean and professional. Unfortunately, my experience was with one particular artist (Danielle Rawlinson) and it has left me too frightened to return. This was my eighth tattoo, and I’ve never had such a negative experience. The artist was off and abrasive from the start, barely spoke to me, and kept chatting to colleagues while tattooing me without really looking at what she was doing. Her hair repeatedly fell into her face while working on my arm; she carried on tattooing like this until colleagues stepped in to move it. It felt careless and unprofessional. She never showed me the final design in full colour beforehand – only an outline the night before, after I had to chase her for it. I wasn’t aware she planned to add harsh black shading to what was supposed to be a bright, cartoony tattoo. It now looks uneven, with shading that makes the hair appear green, patchy colour fills, missing lines, and raised scar tissue in places where she repeatedly went over the same spot. This tattoo hurt more than any of my others (including ribs) because she overworked areas, and the result is patchy, scarred, and uneven. No white ink was added, some lines are crisp while others are broken and dotty. I eventually asked her to stop early because I was so uncomfortable – leaving the rose uncoloured and the background not even started. It was clear she would never have finished both within the time left, yet I was still charged the full amount. She said bubbles was complete, but a line was missed under her skirt and she did absolutely no white highlights. She also failed to give me any aftercare instructions – she said she would send them but never did. I want to stress that I have had seven tattoos before this and always felt comfortable, even in long, painful sessions. With this artist, I felt rushed, like an inconvenience, and extremely anxious – I even had a panic attack after leaving. It is a vulnerable position to sit for hours in pain while someone tattoos you permanently, and this is the first time I’ve ever left feeling shaken instead of happy. This review is not a reflection of the shop as a whole, but of my personal experience with this artist. Sadly, I won’t be coming back, even for the unfinished parts, because I don’t trust the quality of her work or her attitude towards clients. The overall tattoo is fine, but I need to now go and pay to get it finished and fixed elsewhere. You can see on the photos, there are two lines on her leg where there should be one, a bump in her shoe, the colour on the shoe is patchy and the line at the bottom of her skirt is missing, there is a raised area in her eye that’s been overworked and the shading on the hair should not be there, it does not suit this cartoon style, on her very light hair…this is 5 weeks on and because she wasn’t a good tattooist. Most of these good reviews in here seem to be for Paul the Piercer.

Fantastic experience: Booked an appointment for Paul to do 1x daith piercing and 2nds for my daughter. I have to say it was by far the best piercing experience I’ve had. Paul was fantastic, really professional but with a released and friendly demeanour. He fully explained everything and put us both at ease. He kept talking through it all as he worked and allowed plenty of time for us to be ready and gave us informed choices about positioning and jewellery. He was also very thorough about aftercare. My daughter says the lobe piercing with the needle was so much better than a gun. Her lobes don’t look sore and she says they’re not painful. My daith piercing doesn’t hurt at all - quite amazed, Paul must have magic hands!!! Anyway highly recommended. We will be back!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience at Hollow Bones, me and my friends all wanted to get a piecing, 2 of my mates had there belly done and me and my mate had our helix, we have never been here before but thought we would try it out. Walked in and the reception lady was lovely to us and made us feel very comfortable, we then had Paul who did our piercings who was so lovely and made us all feel very comfortable, one of my friends were extremely scared to get her belly done, Paul talked her through every step until she felt comfortable to get it done. We are all very pleased with our service and our new piercings, all definitely be coming here again! I’m very happy with our service today from all staff.

Fantastic experience: got a nostril piercing from here 3 weeks ago, and paul made me feel really comfortable. i was able to bring a friend as well which is nice. the piercing is still looking good and haven’t had any issues with it so far! pricing is reasonable too! definitely see myself coming here again :)

Fantastic experience: Had 5 full day sessions with Abbie to complete my design. For my first tattoo experience she was wonderful. The studio doesn’t make you feel intimidated as a new customer at all. All the artists are extremely friendly and kind. It’s refreshing to see a workplace where people actually get on and interact with each other nicely. Abbie is an artist first, then a tattooist, her talent to make an idea/vision a reality is astounding. The effort and detail she put into my tattoo is unreal. She is so warm and chatty, it is easy to spend the day with her. People compliment my tattoo all the time, as they should, she is incredible. Thank you to everyone at Hollowbones for making my experience great, but mostly Abbie for creating a masterpiece.

Fantastic experience: I contacted Abbie at Hollow Bones a couple of months ago with some ideas of what I wanted - an orchid in memory of my Nanna. I wanted it to be quite small but she said the detail wouldn't work as well if it was too small so I said I'd be guided by her and I'm glad I was. The whole experience was easy - booking via an app and being able to message through the app as well was great. The studio was welcoming and very clean. Abbie drew on the design first to check I was happy with size and placement and once I was she got to work. She chatted throughout keeping me distracted and it was finished before I knew it. I've had a few tattoos in the past elsewhere which have always been a good experience but this was the best. Abbie is such a talented artist and the amount of detail she put in was amazing. I will go back here if I want another tattoo in the future and would recommend it to anyone. There are a number of different artists so there will be someone to suit every style.

Fantastic experience: This whole studio is lovely. I was tattooed by Abbie on a recommendation and I would easily and eagerly pass that recommendation on to others. The whole studio has such a welcoming, fun and friendly vibe and it made me feel so comfortable to be there. Abbie was really nice and did such a beautiful piece on me, turning a regretted tattoo into something wonderful.

Fantastic experience: I've spent a few months sending ideas back and forth with Abbie to build up the concept of a full back piece. Had my first 2 full day sits with her this weekend, and the whole experience was great from walking into the studio and being offered a brew, to be bandaged up and given aftercare advice. Worth travelling all the way to Norwich, will update this review when we're further along!

Fantastic experience: Had a gorgeous neo-traditional flower design done by Abbie. Some stenciling was used but it was mostly done freehand because of a tricky placement. It turned out exactly how I imagined, I absolutely love it☺️ I was admittedly laid back about specifics, but Abbie was still very attentive during the whole process, making sure I was happy with the progress. She had no problem making adjustments or adding extra details as the piece was taking shape, it was really easy to communicate with her about what I wanted. She has a light hand - the whole piece was completed in a day with no issues and it's healing beautifully. I'm already planning my next tat with her

Fantastic experience: Paul and the whole team at Hollow Bones was so accommodating and friendly towards our group while doing a walk in was awesome. They were sweet and considerate. Very gentle and professional while piercing. When my friend was asking about different piercings Paul was realistic and didn’t shy away of telling her of certain piercings not working for her anatomy or certain piercings being a bit scary to do etc. would highly recommend to anyone! We also intend to go back for out tattoos as well.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience getting my ears pierced. I got my thirds and tragus done. I've waited a month to give the full review. I swear my thirds had healed after a week and I'd say my tragus is pretty much there. It was all relatively pain free and haven't had any issues with any of the piercings. Fantastic experience: Went in today for a walk in and my god it was so good. Squiretats fitted me in and I got one of the tattoos he wanted to do for a long time. He was lovely had a great chat and he made me feel very comfortable. Plenty of breaks and water when needed too because of the heat. Staff is lovely too with Luke on the reception. Overall 5/5

Fantastic experience: A lovely cool ear piercing experience for my 9 year old.... Paul was amazing with him, really engaging, he talked him through the process and made sure he was happy and comfortable with everything before proceeding. The studio is clean, hygienic and you can see that equipment is sterile. If anybody is looking for a piercer for their children or themselves I would highly recommend Paul.

Harriette, I can't aboustly recommend enough for anything pokemon or Geek related. After I got the first one, I had to get more even done a cover-up, which was absoulty perfect! While getting my tattoo, I managed to get my industrial done by Paul, who was aboustly amazing and answered all my questions I had! I honestly can't recommend this studio enough. The staff are all so talented and knowledgeable I couldn't recommend anywhere better!

Informative- taking the time to explain how and why he was approaching the piercings in a certain way, professional and calm - putting you at ease. Great after care advice. To be honest it was pretty painless and a genuinely positive experience. Paul is a genuinely lovely man.

I felt safe and secure as he knew exactly what he was doing, down to talking about future jewellery because it would determine the angle he pierced at. I heartily recommend Paul’s calm and considerate manner too.

Fantastic experience: I have been to hollow bones multiple times and all of the staff I have spoken to are friendly. The place itself is clean and there are multiple rooms for tattoos so it feels more private than many other local tattoo places when getting tattooed.

Fantastic experience: Paul pierced my nose and lip back in July. Now everything is fully healed I feel I can give a proper review. On the day the person on the desk who greeted me and sorted out the paperwork was welcoming and friendly. Paul the piercer was extremely professional, reassuring and also made me laugh a lot which took all the anxiety out of what was happening. He recommended aftercare products and told me exactly what to do to look after them. I didn't feel rushed at all. He took his time and made sure everything was exactly right. He was happy for me to drop in for a check up over subsequent months, or contact him with any questions at all. The studio has online booking which makes arranging appointments really simple. Last month I went back to get help with switching to hoops and again, he was incredibly patient with me and answered all my questions. 10/10
