Negative experience: Very rude, don’t waste your time! And LETS MAKE THIS CLEAR IT WAS ONE PERSON IN THE CHAIR And LIKE 3-6 WORKERS NOT SLAM BUSY if you guys was so busy we would have not been able to walk right up to the counter you guys WISH THE SHOP WAS BUSY JUST VERY VERY RUDE AND EMPTY WITH ONE CUSTOMER. And if someone had said something to one of the 5 people I was with we would ALL(6) would have gotten a tattoos but THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. And I only left one star because I couldn't post the review without checking at least one star you deserve 0 stars.

Negative experience: Very rude, literally just left, no one said hello or anything we stood their for 10 minutes... believe all the reviews... the funny part is they must of assumed because we were black, we didn't want to spend money.

Fantastic experience: Ryan absolutely is the jewel of this shop, I was really determined to bring a tattoo back to chicago with me and despite being absolutely mobbed with people for their special (Mardi Gras week plus $20 tats means lots of frustrating people), Ryan made sure to get me taken care of for my custom piece, and took the time to draw up my design in my style of tattoo, i would without a doubt come back to see him again if i make it back to town in the future. He was patient, attentive, and kind during every interaction i had with him.

Negative experience: Customer service is awful i called the night before and asked for Mardi Gras hours and they said open everyday and never thought to mention they were actually closed today (the next day) so I wasted uber money for nothing. Just communicate you’re adults

Negative experience: Literally go anywhere else. Came because I was curious after seeing some social media posts about the shop and the specials they run. As soon as I walked in, there was no line, no customers, and it was not busy at all on Mardi Gras night…BIG red flag. When I was finally greeted, it was by the only tattoo artist there. He stated he was there voluntarily but he was not doing any available specials because he “doesn’t get paid enough off those” and that since he’s the only one in the shop tonight, he’s not doing it. Mind you, he never asked what I wanted or what I was interested in getting, pricing, or anything. He just assumed that’s what I was there for. Didn’t like that at all. Before he could finish telling me what he wasn’t going to do, I was walking back out the door. Don’t waste your time or money.

Fantastic experience: Mo took care of me for a walk-in. Quick, clean almost surgical how prepared he was and absolutely killed it. Highly recommend Mo.

Negative experience: VERY racist ! I arrived at about 4:20 .. IN my HIGH SCHOOL uniform. One of the men looked up and said are yall here for tattoos ? we said yes and the man replied okay sign in. after filling out the book WE WAIT FOR an hour to be called and before my name was said, he SKIPPED my name and called the person who came after me which was a white girl but, i guess the other man pointed to my name and he doubled back and called my name .. which is weird. then when we got up he asked me what i was getting and where i told him everything he wanted to know and he proceeded to ask me for my ID, but i didn’t have it. MY MOTHER WAS PRESENT SO IT WASN'T NEEDED. The man proceeded to ask us for a birth certificate and ID my mother said she don’t have it but she had her ID and my social security card, the man said “we need the birth certificate or ID from her” but, why not say nothing before ? My mother then asks well is this posted on the website the man lies and says yes. After leaving we go on the website and that information is no where to be found …. and YES I AM BLACK.

Negative experience: Went to get a small mustache tattoo on my finger in pink. Momo was seemed very annoyed at my request. Didn’t want to speak to me at all. He was very stand-offish. It seems as though he rushed the process too because 2 weeks later and it’s as though the tattoo never existed. And I paid $100 for nothing. 10/10 would never recommend.

Fantastic experience: Great job done by Scott. He gave me more then fair price for a sketch and color tattoo of pretty solid size. Also got a $20 tattoo addon for the sale they’re running ! friendly , quick and good work. My girlfriend also got a tattoo that came out very nice . But her artist was a lot more reserved and came off a bit judgey tbh but to each their own could’ve just been tired ‍♂️ Her price in comparison to Scott’s though didn’t seem as good IMO

Fantastic experience: Ask for Scott, less than 2 minute wait. All the staff are super friendly and are SME's (Subject Matter Experts) in tattoo artistry. Lirette provided me an of the cuff design for a tattoo, she took my words and made them into a awesome sketch.

Fantastic experience: i was a walk in today to get a voodoo doll from the Halloween flash sale i got mine from Jackie, she has amazing designs on her board as well! i went for line work, no color nor shading. the place was clean, good vibes, and i didn't have to wait long, easy application for the paperwork also. will definitely come back for more ️

Negative experience: a few months ago i had my anti eyebrow pierced. i was not told, from my memory, that a curved barbell is not suitable for this surface piercing. what IS suitable is a staple, straight bar. it began rejecting after 2-3 months. after i was hired at another piercing shop, both of my coworkers (who are experienced piercers) told me that i should take it out, as it was going to reject sooner or later. that is exactly what i did when i saw the first stage of rejection, which is redness, and heat underneath the skin. i am still, several months later, left with two red dots that will not go away. they have begun to blend in with my skin, but are still fairly noticeable. this piercer did well with my eyebrow and nose, but i think she should have some extra training, and should know her boundaries as a piercer. at the very least, she needs to make it known that these surface piercings cannot be done effectively or safely, considering staple bars and dermals are illegal in the state of louisiana.

Fantastic experience: My sister took me here to get two nose piercings for my birthday by Brenna! She did such a great job. She was extremely compassionate, understanding, and patient. It was absolutely the best experience I could ask for from a piercer. The placement was exactly what I wanted. Brenna also didn’t mind taking the time to make sure the placements were perfect for my sister. She did so good that my sister decided to get her ears pierced too! The jewelry was included in the service & she offers a free change of jewelry after the healing period is over. Basically you buy some jewelry from The Jewelry Bar & then she will change the piercings for you for free! My piercings & my sister’s piercings are healing wonderfully. I have absolutely NO complaints at all. I’ll 100% be booking with Brenna again!! 10000/10 experience!!!

Fantastic experience: Got an AMAZING forearm piece done by Richard! This man has such a wide range of tattoo styles, and gave me exactly what I asked for. Great guy, big heart, super funny and overall made my first time experience to Nola unforgettable. I was so surprised with Richard's quick response time on social media regarding my appointment, you dont see that these days, and most artists book for months in advance. He was able to squeeze me in with the short time frame I had available for the remainder of my vacation, and even moved my apt up 2 days earlier after he had a client reschedule with him. I'm so stoked to show off his work, and even more hopeful to see him in the future for my next visit down here from Baltimore. Thanks so so much Richard <3 keep kicking butt! Fantastic experience: Walked in within a few minutes was ready to get my tattoo! They are all super nice and did great work. If I ever come back to Louisiana I will return for another one!

Negative experience: Me and my bestfriend went to this tattoo shop around September/October 2024 and we both got different tattoo artists. Her leg tat (which is bigger than my tat) costed around $130. My artist (all I remember is her being a caucasian girl with tattoos) charged me $130 for my tattoo. I did not realize until after that I got overcharged but I still paid. I wouldn't recommend this place but if you do go do not get tatted by a white girl with tattoos because she will overcharge you. Also for reference my tattoo is my mom's signature, it says "Arretta".

Fantastic experience: I love going in there to get work done! Everyone is so friendly and has a really chill atmosphere. Lirette does exceptional work! She designed my cat tattoo and corrected my other tattoos that I got elsewhere. Anthony did my tragus piercing. He really made me feel at ease and did an awesome job. Definitely recommend them!

Fantastic experience: Loved my experience here. Happy hour deal was awesome ($30 for both lobes!). Hailey was so sweet and communicative, making sure to make space for us to ask any curious questions we had about piercings. She was patient, calming, and informative. I felt nervous about getting my first piercings, but her composure helped me feel grounded and taken care of. Highly recommend. I will be back if I need more piercings.

Negative experience: I had a good experience with Jimmy initially , I was told to come back in two weeks for a free touch-up. I came back in a month and he said it wasn't healed. After a month, really!!! He told me he don't do free tattoos but you are supposed to be doing a touch up Jimmy!!! HE WASN'T THE SAME JIMMY WHEN HE TOOK MY MONEY, NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: In preparation for finding a place to get my 13 year old pierced, I spoke with both Kaylynn and Haley. Both were really friendly, professional, and informative. On the day that we actually went to get the piercings, Haley was working. She was incredibly sweet, patient, and thorough. She made sure that my child and I were happy with the placement before she started. She didn't rush anything and made sure to keep my child informed of her next steps through out. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, thank you!

Positive experience: Walk ins available. Payment options where unclear because they had signs for credit cards and an ATM. I heard the girl at the counter say that it was cash only but she didn't say anything to me. We waited for 30 minutes and got tired and decided to leave since there was no progression in the que. The shop was clean.

Negative experience: I had a great experience initial but after my tattoo I notice I did not take well to the ink I tried to reach out but they blamed me for the way the tattoo turned out . It sucks I visited && I had a great time but a horrible experience.

Fantastic experience: We were recommended to Voodoux from a friend. We did a walk in on a Sunday night. Scott and Jimmy were great! My fiancé was getting her first tattoo and Scott was patient and super helpful. I got a flash tattoo that Jimmy customized for me and knocked it out of the park. They were both excellent in professionalism and artistry. I only wish we lived in town to see them again.

Positive experience: 1 star off for the man with black hair who had a smart response for nothing. I asked if they took Apple Pay to which he responds “most people do”…. I’m sorry but was I asking about “most people”?? A simple yes would have sufficed. However, the lady with the shaved head was very nice and helpful. I won’t be back though because being rude to someone simply asking a valid question is weird.

Fantastic experience: Brenna was my piercing artist, and she was awesome! I've never been to a tattoo shop, and my ears were pierced as a baby, so of course I don't remember it. The shop was very clean and well decorated. It also smells nice. Brenna was welcoming and warm like an old friend. Her voice was calming, and her conversation put me at ease. I definitely recommend this shop.

Negative experience: really upset about this place a girl named liv pierced me and didnt pierced it in one poke she made one poke and waited to go all the way through then put the piercing in and i felt liquid getting into my ear and i wanted to get up and she told me to stay laying down which made it go deeper into my ear and it wasnt just liquid it was my blood! going in my ear and all she kept saying was ill be fine its normal like no its not i swear to god i could not hear from my left ear. it felt like my ear drum got busted because I COULD NOT HEAR A THING FROM MY LEFT EAR! i had water go in my ear before but this felt worse the piercing wasnt painful it was my eardrum hurting and she kept dismissing my pain saying it cant go to my eardrum and im mad because the next morning theres still blood IN my ear and no not from my piercing because its not even bleeding. its the next night and i got crusty blood dried up in my ear. and i every time i burped my ear dr hurts!!!!!!! she should of used her senses and made me sit up and accused me of q tipping my ears pushing it further back when she used like plenty trying to clean it all before i tried to dry it out myself update its been two days and my eardrum is still in pain it hurts when i yawn, breathe, burp, chew, and pop my ears!!!

Fantastic experience: Welcoming environment and friendly artists! We didn't end up getting tattoos here, but the artists were all extremely nice and informative. We also saw some of their designs while there, and if the wait had of been shorter I would have loved to get work done.

Fantastic experience: I came in to get a tattoo and I had an amazing experience. Ryan, my tattoo artist made me feel very comfortable. He was just great in general. My lettering was done beautifully and everything was on point. The shop also has a chill vibe, and beautiful artwork/spooky stuff, which I also loved.

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough how great this shop is ! Going twice in less than 7days . First time .. Jimmy was sooooo beyond patient with our first timer and her mom ! Work was excellent . Again can I say how patient he was !!!! Loretta did my tattoo that day . She was a gem . Lite touch and perfect script . Went back a few days later to go over a family tattoo ( has been discussed and brought to other shops ) and Scott KILLED it !!!! He came up with the perfect rendition of what we wanted ! The entire staff was friendly , professional and the shop was immaculate. So glad both my nieces had their first tattoos at a shop of this quality. Definitely have a feeling I’ll go back whenever I’m in town .

Fantastic experience: Went in and got a tatto from jimmy, fantastic service, love my tattoo and was lowkey in a rush ,i was in n outta there but while i was there some dude banged on the window out of no where, jimmy my tattoo artist and scott another tattoo artist, handled it perfectly, the crazy guy had all the customers worried, luckily my guys came in clutch.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved the service here. I got 3 tattoos over 2 days by Ryan. It was the best tattoo experience I’ve had. He took his time with what o wanted and made sure it was perfect. The shop was clean and a pleasant atmosphere and a total vibe. I also got my nose pierced by Brenna and it was was with ease she was so nice. She made mr experience so good! I will be returning for all my tattoos and future piercings. It’s definitely worth the drive.

Negative experience: Walked in and a very nice girl asked what we were there for and just wanted to know how much and how long a tattoo would take, she walked into next room to ask a gentleman and she said he would be right with us. We waited around 15-20 min. A group of 5 came in to get tattoos and piercings and they were helped right away. I was talking with my friend as we walked out and the gentleman that was suppose to help us came out and told us you could’ve gave me 5 seconds, (not when I already waited 15-20min) and that another tattoo place could help us. I have many tattoos and have never been treated like that. We drove 1,100 miles for vacation and thought it would be fun to get a tattoo. We’ll go elsewhere

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience! Richard was the best! He took time listen to what we were wanting and made sure we were happy with everything. He also provided some stand up comedy while he worked and made sure we were safely in our Uber afterwards! 1000% recommended!!

Negative experience: I got my navel pierced here in September and it didn't seem like my piercer really was confident in what they were doing. She wasn't confident in where the dots were supposed to go and placed the original dots way higher than they should have been. When she was unable to clamp me on the dots she made, she moved the dot down but it was really crooked. The jewelry she used was also way longer than it should have been so it got caught on everything and was painful and uncomfortable. A few days ago, I went to a different piercer for help changing the jewelry to something that fit properly and unfortunately because the piercing was so crooked and the jewelry was so low quality and so much longer than it should have been, I have to let it close up. As she was taking the jewelry out, a piece of metal broke off and showed that the jewelry had rusted a little around the ball.

Fantastic experience: Awesome place with great artists! Our group had Ben, Ryan, and Lerette. In midcity away from the tourist trap shops. Well worth going a few minutes further!

Fantastic experience: Went to mid city on a trip to New Orleans. I get a tattoo in every state I visit and wanted to get one for NOLA. After checking them out, I asked if they accepted walkins. They were busy at the time but asked me to come in at the end of the night. They not only worked me in but momo gave me my favorite tattoo yet. Amazing line work and black/grey shading. I get compliments all of the time and could not be happier!

Fantastic experience: The staff here is so extremely helpful and I've never had an issue. Very military friendly as well feels very friendly for women. Scott walked me to my car to make sure I'd make it home safely, we finished my tattoo way past closing. I've gotten approx 5 or 6 tattoos with them now in the span of a year. Love them!

Negative experience: We had a strange experience here. My husband and I came in for some tattoos before leaving New Orleans after Buku. After a lot of poking around online, I found Voodoux on Instagram and we liked the designs on their current flash sheet. Lirette was who was at the counter and who was going to do both of our tattoos, although she never introduced herself. I went first, and the tattoo process was pretty much as expected, Lirette didn't make any small talk or sat anything, so my husband and I chatted. When she was nearly done with my tattoo, she pawned my husband off to somebody else instead of doing his tattoo, which was strange because simple flash is quick money, no? My tattoo turned out well and I am happy with it. However, Jimmy Two Thumbs did my husband's tattoo, and it isn't nearly as well done. Lirette passing my husband off to Jimmy didn't seem to benefit anyone either. Lirette stayed at the shop, and Jimmy decided to take a break before beginning my husband's tattoo. He also complained about tattooing the entire time he tattooed my husband. We were happy to add to our tattoo collections on vacation, but this was a very strange experience. Update: four months later and both of our tattoos have faded and aged horribly.

Fantastic experience: I was a walk in, first time customer looking to get a tattoo. I was promptly welcomed and asked to sign in for a piercing or tattoo and to wait in the lobby area to be called upon. I looked through their flashes and found one I was interested in. When I was called up I told him which one I wanted and for it to be modified a little. He went back to draw it up and I only waited for about 20min before he called me back to the counter. He was very nice and definitely had my design drawn for the location on my body in my best interest. The whole process, from walking in to finishing the tattoo took about an hour and I am happy with it. He gave me his card and told me to come back in for a touch-up if needed. I highly recommend this shop and the only thing I'm disappointed about is that I waited 8 years to give this shop and the artists a shot! I will most definitely come back in the future.

Negative experience: Honestly, if I could rate this piercer 0 stars- I absolutely would. She pierced my septum wrong TWICE. She tried to free-hand it the first time, then tried to make it right free-handed. The piercing was crooked and through my cartilage. It was embarrassing to walk around with. I still paid full price, and I'm pretty upset about it. I had the piercing for several months and it never healed, I ended up taking it out- essentially paying full price for someone to botch my septum. I looked at her Instagram and there are videos of her piercing herself and had I seen that before I chose who to trust to pierce me, I'd have gone elsewhere. The shop itself is cute and has a nice vibe but I rarely hear good things about that piercer since sharing my horror story.

Fantastic experience: Walked into Voodoux and they were very accommodating! I had an idea for my tattoo and Scott brought it to life for me. It was a tattoo honoring a couple of friends who passed recently, and I was so appreciative of the care and expertise they provided. Very clean and bright shop. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo here on Friday the 13th and I was so nervous but when I walked in I got Scott. He was very nice and talked to me through the whole process. Best experience ever and I’ll definitely go back for more.
