Fantastic experience: Christopher Manny and Taylor were awesome. We went in on a whim to get a tattoo and they made the process quick and easy. The shop was clean and our tattoos were exactly what we asked for

I was here for my birthday from out of state and the wait wasn’t long they weee clean, fast, and all the staff was awesome. Fantastic experience: I decided to get a tattoo as a souvenir of my first trip to New Orleans, back in the beginning of January.I'm very happy with it! They helped me decide on what to get. Squee was the artist that did my tattoo and did a fantastic job. I gave them free rein on what colors to do and am extremely pleased with the end result! I will definitely visit the shop again and DEFINITELY recommend Big Easy Tattoo!

Fantastic experience: Both myself & my daughter had art work while visiting 2 weeks before Fat Tuesday 2026. We stopped by to make appointments the night before we got ink just b/c we were walking by. Normally appointments aren't required. My artist did a fantastic job. I told him I was open to ideas & basically wanted a piece that was associated w/ New Orleans like a "Voo-Doo Doll". But, I needed the color to match the existing sleeve colors. Dude was very knowledgeable & for 7-1/2 hours under the needle, the pain was minimal. The hardest part was staying still.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic experience as a walk-in a few weeks ago with Stephen. The artwork was totally on-point. Equally as important, Stephen was open and engaging. Working in a walk-in shop in a touristy area requires a special kind of skill—you never know who is going to stop in. Stephen handled everyone who came in with kindness and professionalism. If you’re in NOLA, this is a great spot to get some ink.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I wanted a quick walk-in tattoo to get matching tats to celebrate our 1st trip to NOLA together, they got us in right away and we were done in an hour! Ace did my girl voodoo doll and Squee did the male voodoo. They were both super nice and I'm so glad we went in!

Fantastic experience: We walked in to get our vacation tattoos. When discussing the tat my wife and I wanted, they worked within our budget. That was wonderful they would do that for us. My wife was matched up with Ace for a black and white lil piece. She went back while Doc was working on my artwork. She was done in no time with a beautiful whimsical witches hat. DOC finished up my artwork. I had a grateful dead rose incorporated into a lightning bolt. I laid down and he got to work on an amazing original piece. I've had many tattoos, and his touch was so light I actually fell asleep a few times. The wife and I are very proud of our new ink. Id give 6 stars if I could!!!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I went on our honeymoon last week and got excellent work done by Steve and another artist (she did the tattoo on my wife, and I can not for the life of me remember her name, but I will have my wife do another review to give her a shoutout). Steve made me feel comfortable every step of the way. He even gave me clearance to cuss him out if needed. I may have taken him up on the offer a few times. Sorry again for bringing your mom into it. He was also so quick that I had to question that he was actually finished (usually the case with men, though). JK JK, but seriously, thank you for a memorable experience. You guys seriously rock.

Fantastic experience: Visited for Labor Day weekend and did a walk-in. Think the guy who did it was an apprentice. (Sorry I don’t recall his name!) But he was super chill and pretty excited to do this JJK design. Two weeks later and it’s wonderful! Though I did have to take extra care wrapping it up in an area like New Orleans. But with care, I’m very happy with it!

Fantastic experience: Walked in with a group of three and we were out in less than an hour! Christopher was amazing! He was so patient with my sister for her first tattoo, and he did beautiful work.

Negative experience: If I could give it 0 I would. Not the least bit welcoming. We entered the shop and one guy sat there 2 full minutes for speaking to us. Then the artist seemed to be drawing straws to figure out who would be dealing with us. When we finally did start talking to an artist he was super dismissive and short with us. It was made obvious that they didn’t want to service us so we walked out. Pics in the reviews are ugly so I guess it’s a good thing we did.

Negative experience: They wanted to charge $150-$200 for just a small friendship tattoo each for 6 girls. They really thought we'd fall for that okie doke? Not us! No tourist price paying here folks. Uh uh! They tried it!

Fantastic experience: The shop is clean and the staff are all awesome! My artist did an amazing job! I am so in love with her work! I am terrible with names, but I believe her name is Sweets (sp?). My husband and I get tattoos when we travel to represent the area we visited. She went above and beyond what I expected from this piece. My husband’s tattoo (another artist) is now his new favorite, as well.

Fantastic experience: We took a trip to New Orleans and decided we wanted to get tattoos while there so we went to Big Easy tattoo and christopher_coll helped us out we had a design but he was very helpful in recreating our vision and was very nice to all of us was a great experience would definitely get more if/when we go back ,And Tyler the other person working in the shop when we was there was nice as well and made us feel welcome had conversation with us was a happy bubbly person overall a really great experience.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough great things about this tattoo shop! My boyfriend and I decided to do a spontaneous walk-in on a Saturday afternoon, and from the moment we walked up to the door, we felt completely welcomed. We were greeted right away, shown the portfolios of several artists, and told that Steve and Christopher were both available. Both artists have over 15 years of experience and were genuinely excited to tattoo the pinup designs we chose. My boyfriend is a big fan of Sailor Jerry and got his very first pinup tattoo on his thigh. As a former roller derby player, I’ve always wanted a roller derby pinup—and I finally got her, right on my calf! Christopher really listened to what I wanted and absolutely nailed the design. It’s perfect, and I love her. What made the experience even better was how excited both artists were about the pieces they were doing. That kind of energy makes all the difference. This was such a special way to mark our first trip together to New Orleans. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll never forget the amazing art we got to take home from such a memorable day. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Went to New Orleans as part of our vacation and decided we were gonna do it the right way and get a tattoo. As soon as we walked in, the energy was amazing and greeted with friendly and helpful staff. Within about an hour the artist had my design drawn up and ready to go! My tattoo turned out AMAZING and exactly how I wanted it. His attention to the details was exceptional and will definitely be returning to this shop on my next vacation! If you’re looking for a clean environment with great tattoo artists and great energy this is your place!

Positive experience: Not the most comfy place. They only accept cash which, in my opinion, is an inconvenience for tourists. Tattoo room was not air conditioned and for a facility to be cash only, it would probably make a lot of sense if your in house ATM was operable. I'm just saying...

Negative experience: Couldn’t do a 3 line tattoo 4 hours before your tattoo shop closed Add on: it says more about your artist and your shop than it does about her if you can’t do a 3 line tattoo. I imagine your tattoo artists should have enough experience to do 3 straight lines. Sounds like a skill issue. My review still stands.

Positive experience: Girl did awesome looking and finding me options for repacement nipple rings. Remember though your in the qauter. 25 a piece before tax for two not unique ones. 10 to 15 bucks a piece on amazon. I just was looking for replacements not getting it pierced. In a big city to be expected.

Fantastic experience: After a memorable trip to New Orleans we wanted a permanent reminder of our visit. As soon as we walked into the shop we knew this was the place for us!! I didn't have an exact tattoo in mine so I decided on a hand drawn tattoo by Squiee. She has amazing art work to choose from. If you are unsure what you want I suggest looking over her work. Squiee is so talented and did some of the most beautiful work on my arm. She is so laid-back and gentle .She made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat in her chair. I recommend her 1000%.

Fantastic experience: Eddie was very patient and encouraging as I was making a decision for my first tattoo during the madness of Mardi Gras! He dealt with me going back and forth to make the design exactly as I wanted, and reassured me every time I had any ounce of doubt! The rest of the team was exceptional, and super fun and welcoming. I can’t remember the girl’s name at the front desk, but she’s fun to strike up a conversation with!! Everything was super clean and sterile and everything you’d hope a tattoo place would be. Immediately wanted another after the first one was completed!

Positive experience: Just go. To work backwards, I got a tattoo that I am obsessed with from Christopher. I left pictures of inspiration with my phone number and the fleur de lis I wanted so he could call me on my last day in NOLA. I called and let it ring until it went busy several times before going over to pick up my pictures where I found Christopher outside. I knew I wanted Christopher to do my tattoo while checking out the shop's website and seeing some color work that I really liked. I saw the scroll fleur de lis in their collection but had realized that Ace, who I was consulting with, was more a black ink tattoo artist. Ace is their piercer and I went in to talk to him because I wanted something to leave as a memory of NOLA that, as Sam had said the day before, can't be lost. (I was staying next door to Big Easy so it was easy to keep checking in.) Sam had turned me off by over talking in the street; I had a fresh tattoo that, when I showed him, he said he could fix. There was nothing wrong with it, in fact, I love it. I had gotten the new tattoo before going to New Orleans because I tried to email and call the shop with no response. They are definitely a walk-in place, perfect for impulse tattoos. If you want to go, take cash with you; they are cash only and the ATM next to the store only dispenses $200 at a time. It's a bit nerve wracking. Since you're here, click through to the website and see the work of the different artists. Ace or Sam may be the artist you want, just know before you go. And be ready to leave with a piece you'll love long after your trip.

Negative experience: Weirdo working on Sunday, June 30, 2024, caused us to walk away. Not worth wasting our time. He was obviously under the influence of something or he wasn't brave enough to say he didn't want our business. If I could leave it a zero stars, I would. Customer service is essential for any business to thrive. On this particular day, it was severely lacking. I surely hope he wasn't the shop manager.

Fantastic experience: Hubby and I were walk in’s and the level of patience and niceness Tara and Christoper showed with my ridiculous level of nervousness over a small tattoo and making a decision was chef’s kiss lol. Their vibe made me take the leap. Place was clean, Christopher went through the whole process with me, and clearly knew what he was doing. Fast and efficient. Don’t forget cash only, get it before you get there. No ATM inside the shop and the one on the street is slightly shady like in all big cities, though we had zero issues.

Positive experience: Great experience. Located close to my hotel on Canal street. The tattoo was amazing and my artist was nice and friendly and made my idea work. My only issue was it was cash only and I had to use a kinda shady ATM but that wasn't the shops fault I must have missed that on the website. Just letting review readers know have your cash ready.

Negative experience: Visited Big Easy Tattoos on 9/21/24 during a trip to New Orleans for memorial tattoos with my best friend for my best friend’s father. The shop is cool, staff was friendly, nice vibe. They seemed to appreciate the humor and sentiment behind these unique tattoos, we felt comfortable going ahead with a walk in appointment. However- our finger tattoos were $200 (each). Yikes, guys. I know we probably got swindled on the price, cash only no receipts given, but I hoped the quality would’ve been a little better. I even asked the artist to fill it in during the appointment and he said it was “fine”. Tattoo began to fade immediately. I reached out to see if there was anything they could do seeing as the tattoo was fading fast and is almost completely gone after TWO WEEKS. I spoke with someone at the shop and sent pictures, was told they’d be forwarded to the owner to see if any sort of reimbursement could be offered to get this touched up in NY where we live. Haven’t heard back except to say that the employee (not the owner) spoke with the artist who agreed to touch it up if we traveled back to NOLA for an appointment. I even gave the artist a $40 tip- we were so excited for these tattoos. So if you’re in the market for a very expensive, extremely janky tattoo from a place that doesn’t stand behind their craft- this is your place!

Fantastic experience: Eddie and Brock both did tattoos on me. The night we arrived In Nola, I spotted the shop and decided to check it out. Eddie was there and set me up with an amazing tattoos. He carries a steady hand and does amazing work. He listens to what you want and asks plenty of questions to execute what you want. Brock put the second tattoo of my trip. He did a cover over another tattoo I had. He also listened and executed the perfect tattoo. He also carries a steady hand. I have thrown out quite a few recommendations to people who ask about them. I receive so many compliments of the work done. I would recommend them to anyone at anytime. Can't wait to come back and get another!!!

Fantastic experience: I don’t leave reviews often but after my experience with Stephen I felt I needed to give him a shout out. I was a walk in as soon as the shop opened. There was no wait and Stephen took the time to discuss orientation and fonts/sizes. He did an impeccable job. Not only does he care about his work but he truly cares about the person he’s tattooing. This was a super important tattoo for me and we had a conversation that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Thank you for caring Stephen!

Fantastic experience: Steve did an amazing job for my first time!! Didn’t hurt and he is so good with shading and making sure you get what you asked for! Made it a true birthday experience!

Fantastic experience: Chris did an amazing job on the tattoo that I wanted. He was friendly, professional, gentle and explained every step before and during the process. He was finished much quicker than i had mentally prepared for. I am beyond pleased with his work and look forward to my next trip to NOLA for my next one.

Fantastic experience: Soooo I randomly got spontaneous during my Essence Fest visit and Ace re pierced my belly and it was the EASIEST thing ever. Ace said to breathe…it was over and I felt NOTHING. Definitely will go back when I visit NOLA again.

Fantastic experience: Got a simple “carpe diem” typewriter font tattoo from Squee. Clean and professional. Super quick. This was $160. 0 pain. (This is my 19th tattoo) Got this a few days ago and is healing nicely. I would recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: We were in NOLA on vacation and spontaneously decided to get a tattoo to commemorate our time there. My husband chose a voodoo cat in honor of our 16 year old tabby who passed. Squee did his and she was amazing. She was sweet and kind and reminded us of our daughter. I chose a black and blue swallowtail butterfly and Stephen hooked me up. He did an amazing and intricate job, even detailing it with red to make it really pop. He was funny and talented and we had a wonderful conversation. Additionally, Kendall greeted us and she was absolutely adorable. They all made us feel at ease. We spent our entire vacation looking for people who reminded us of family and we found them right here. We plan to make this an annual tradition. I cannot recommend these sweet people enough.
