Fantastic experience: Brilliant work done here. Had my first two tattoos done here by Jay (done my arm) and John (done my chest), both lovely and welcoming artists. Would 100% reccomend.

Fantastic experience: My first tattoo was behind my ear and i really didn't have a clue and went back to get it added to. John was fine with that and did a brilliant job of sorting it. I then went back a few months later and john did a fantastic tattoo of a tiger on my back. It's amazing. I was so chilled, i almost dozed off! It was so relaxing! Will definitely be back for another.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here. I went with a design hoping to get a walk in, but fully prepared to book an appointment, and they were able to fit me in almost immediately with John. He was lovely and really good checking in with me about colours and pain level and stuff. Had a fun chat while getting my tattoo too. It looks amazing, and I'm really happy with it. He also had no issues working over a scar or two on my arm where the design was, which is even better, since that was a worry of mine.

Fantastic experience: AHHH! Today i got pierced by Jade White and she was the most lovely, gentle person i’ve ever met!! The septum and snakebites were so painless i ABSOLUTELY will be going back to get both piercings and tattoos in the future. So much love!!! <3

Fantastic experience: I went in today because my tragus, conch and rook piercings were tarnished and looked awful, jade helped me find the best jewerelly place and then placed them in, i got to admit it looks fantastic and my rook piercing was so thin that it seemed impossible to get any other jewerelly in, but she managed to get a lovely thicker hoop in, she was so funny and makes you feel welcome, i would defiently recommend her as i walked in quite upset and left with a smile on my face , couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to be back.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the service I received! John turned up 25 mins late and then immediately went outside and smoked for a further 20 minutes without even speaking to me. Turned out his iPad wasn’t even charged up… the tattoo I received was nothing like what I asked for and then when I tried to rebook to get it sorted out John kept saying he wasn’t working this week only for Hype to post on Instagram that John had time slots available for the week… overall pathetic customer service and I would avoid these guys to be honest, gone right down hill it seems

Fantastic experience: Had my tragus pierced just over two weeks ago by Carmen, she was friendly and very professional and made me feel more confident about getting my first needle pircing i honestlydidn'tfeel a thing, went back after two weeks to have a smaller tragus earing in and got my daith done it was no wear as painful as I thought it would be just a lot of pressure will definitely be back for future pircings

Fantastic experience: Went in on the off chance they could fit me in this week. Was lucky that Steven had had a cancellation and booked me in the next day. He was great and we talked through a cover up and things that would need to be considered and gave great advice. During the session the vibe was great, the conversation top notch and he seemed genuinely happy with his work (which he wanted to take his time on rather than rush). Would definitely go back for future tattoos. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: I adore this place. I've had several of my tatoos done here from two of the different artists, and had both my lip, septum and ears pierced at this shop. Every time has been a overwhelmingly positive experience, friendly artists with amazing line work and shading. I've been made to feel nothing but comfortable at this shop as an Autistic person. If you're looking for great tatoos at a reasonable price go here.

Fantastic experience: Recommend without a doubt. Snapped my septum jewellery the night before a wedding. Make a frantic dash to Hype 10 mins before the wedding starts, buy a (very reasonably priced) septum ring. Thanks to inhumanly long nails, I proceeded to jab it desperately into the piercing without my success, finally thread it and thankfully one of their piercers offered to help me, 0.05 seconds and all sorted. Absolutely lush, thanks so much guys!

Negative experience: Rude from the moment we came in. Piercing seemed unprofessional. Had my face yanked about with the clamps and when the needle was through. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Fantastic experience: I've had 4 of my piercings done here and the piercer is so friendly and polite! The studio is lovely and clean and you always feel at ease. I've never had a tattoo done here however I have only heard good things. All the staff are friendly and professional. I always recommend this place to people wanting piercings :)

Fantastic experience: I love going to Hype Tattoo. Steve has created 3 tattoos for me now and I love them all. He is so professional and works so hard but at the same time he’s so chatty and friendly and made me feel at ease every time. The whole studio is Covid safe but Steve always makes sure you can see him setting up and sanitising for a bit of extra security. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: We love Steve! Me and my friend came in to get small cute matching tattoos & ended up leaving with an extra tatt and a touch up! Steve was our tattooist and he was really attentive and lovely, dead chatty and friendly too! Not to mention all of the staff were mint, so welcoming! The studio was adhering to all Covid measures of course, so we felt safe there :) Steve definitely has gained two more clients! Great experience and highly recommend it here!!!x

Fantastic experience: This is a cracking shop for tattoos, everyone is super friendly and were happy to answer any (stupid!) questions I had. 4 of my 5 tattoos were done here, by 3 of the artists, and you can see which is the odd one out. The quality of the work from here is just lightyears ahead. Can't recommend the place enough!

Got a tattoo idea in your head? No problem - they'll sit with you and talk/sketch it out until you've got an amazing design ready to go!

Fantastic experience: I went in for an industrial piercing but unfortunately was not able to get it due to the high risk of embedding. Despite this the piercist was lovely and well informed. And I would recommend this studio

Fantastic experience: I've always loved this place and the service that I recieve, of the 11 piercings I've got, 10 were pierced at hype and ive never had an issue with any of them (the same cant be said for no11 but I can safely say that I won't be making the mistake of going to a different piercer ever again). The staff here are always lovely!

Negative experience: Had a tattoo booked but was assaulted the night before and ended up with a laceration across my face needing 10 stitches. Explained this to the receptionist and was told that was unfortunate and would lose the £50 I had paid and couldn't move it to another day. I understand they have a cancellation process but this woman lacked any sort of compassion and would never ever go there. Going to rebook my tattoo when I'm better at another studio as I personally wouldn't want to get a permanent thing on my body from someone who could not care about someone's wellbeing.

Positive experience: Me and my bestie had a spare of the moment tattoo here while visiting Newcastle.. Nothing exciting but the artist was cool and friendly and the place seemed clean and pleasant

Positive experience: Although I haven't been to this lovely from my piercing before , my friend recommended it to me and said nothing but great things about the place . I went in and asked for my navel done but the person who normal would do the piercing is unfortunately on holiday and comes back on the Monday . The man at the desk seems more than lovely and a very happy and welcoming man . Just to say I went to PUREINK to get navel done as I wanted it done for a party over the weekend( and the person wasn't in at hype piercings ) , and it was the worse possible piercing I got !!! it was wonky and not deep enough and the costomer services was horrid , I don't recommend that place at all although next time I will be coming to hype piercing .

Fantastic experience: I had both nipples pierced here, and I was so nervous going in, especially being by myself. The lady who pierced them for me was so nice and made me feel much more relaxed. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Had a trainee do my tattoo without being told. Parts he went too deep and parts he went too shallow of a writing tattoo. A couple years on the letters have now spread and words are unreadable. I now have a tattoo stuck on me that is illegible. Will NEVER come here again, and NEVER recommend them
