Fantastic experience: I was tattooed by Sophia. She is so talented and kind. I spent 4+ hours in the chair, but the time flew by because she was incredibly accommodating and easy to talk to. She’s a very brilliant artist who perfectly blended her ideas and creativity with my initial concept. She has a very calming energy and went above and beyond—I mentioned I was traveling and she even gave me fantastic recommendations for the area and offered to show me some of them. The others in the shop were also friendly. My only complaint is that Sophia doesn’t own a shop in my country If she did, I’d go to her for every future piece.

Fantastic experience: Managed to get a walk in, Stevie did an amazing job, over the moon with my three scripts and he such a nice guy, we had a lovely chat. One of my scripts is a tribute to a musician in a band I love, he even put some of their music on while I was there which was a lovely surprise. Stevie was great at sorting out sizes and making sure I was happy before he got the ink out. The price was much lower than I expected so I gave him a little bit extra, I am so pleased. I'm utterly in love with my new inkings. Thanks Stevie!

Fantastic experience: I found out about Northern Tattoo Collective via an Instagram post and I'm very glad I message Mark. He was incredibly helpful with information prior to the tattoo (I get nervous sometimes getting a tattoo specially with a tattoo artist I haven't met). Mark was awesome super chill and enthusiastic! The place is super clean, chill vibes and excellent music. For those like me who get cold easily they got those nice heaters which you can request (as for the some folks get warm too easily they also have fans). There's loads of cool art work as well so plenty to get distracted with whilst getting a tattoo done. Everyone of the artist are super friendly and chill, very welcoming too. I'm definitely going back again! Specially with one of the new design Mark has made, I must get!

I had a shaky start due to my anxiety but I was looked after by her and some of the other team members and in the end got the tattoo done and couldn’t be happier with the result. Thanks a lot, will definitely come back here should I get any more tattoos.

Fantastic experience: Came in today to get a half sleeve to cover up an old tattoo and some very heavy scarring (with Adam being the tattooist). Staff were super lovely and offered me coffee as well, everyone was super respectful about my scarring, and it was very reasonably priced too. Would happily recommend to others - especially for more complex work/situations like mine ☺️

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at the studio. Just a fairly basic tattoo with Paul Fulton but it worked out exactly as hoped. Studio was clean and despite being reasonably early in the day had a good vibe going. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic experience: Have had two tattoos from here, first tattoo ever from Gucci, and my first big one from Nathan. Two solid and amazingly designed, beautiful tattoos. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for the start of my tattoo journey. Thank yous both!! Definitely recommend. They made me feel very comfortable and accepted as I feared I would be judged but that was not the case at all. Will definitely be going there again in the near future.

Fantastic experience: Had my first ever tattoo done here yesterday. Everyone really friendly. Callum who did my tattoo was lovely, really put me at ease. I had one of my son's drawings on the side of my hand. He was really knowledgeable about why it wasn't the best place but no judgment when I was stubborn and had it there anyway! Will definitely be going back. Update 2/2/23 Now have 6 tattoos all done at Northside all but 1 by Callum, I love it here, the skill of the artists, the banter in the shop. It's fast becoming my favourite place to spend money!

Fantastic experience: Went to Northside tattoo after years of trying to find the perfect artist to bring my design to life. After being here I now understand why so many people have recommended them to me. Had the fabulous Bella do a forearm piece and it turned out exactly how I wanted if not even better than I imagined. She’s such a talented artist and such a lovely person. So glad I chose her for this particular piece. If you want something badass and metal Bella is certainly the person you want to see! Fantastic experience: After losing my cat the vet took a paw print when he died and my daughter suggested that I got a tattoo done of it. Had it done today by Kara and what a brilliant job she did. The atmosphere was great and the staff so easy going and friendly. I would definitely recommend Northside and Kara for an excellent result and experience.

Positive experience: I went to Kara and she was joint best artist I've ever been too. Her tattoos are amazingly shaded and I love them. The only reason I'm giving 4* is as she was applying the tattoos she said about how she prefers tattooing Germans as they don't complain about positioning like the English do, so I had too much anxiety to ask her to move them and due to that I have wasted space on my arm. If not for that I think I would of always used Kara as she was amazing and had good craic.

Bella has always been professional and makes me feel at ease. Her work has always been amazing and I will continue to get work from her. I highly recommend as all the artists are really friendly, and there is something for everyone!

I have had 3 done here, all by different artists and all were as friendly and welcoming as each other. The decor certainly keeps you distracted from the pain too! An amazing place. Cheers!

Fantastic experience: Great studio. Amazing staff. Since I got tattoo during the Covid period, there were additional rules like masks and frequent hand washing etc which was all adhered too. The staff there are just amazing. I was tattood by Kara and I would recommend her to absolutely everyone. She's great. Also saw some work of Dainah who works there and she is outstanding too. I don't doubt for a second any artist here is great! I live 300 miles from this studio but I won't get tattood anywhere else now.

Fantastic experience: Contacted Northside Tattooz via email a couple of weeks ago prior to our stay in Newcastle. Wanted to surprise my dear friend with a custom made tattoo. Today we finally met tattoo artist Wayne in person and he was so exited for her that he was able to give her this very personal tattoo. For us it's a day to always remember, a day with laughs, fun and jokes but also with tears and a shoulder to lean on. We would like to thank Wayne again for his absolute fantastic work, his kindness and loving words. We couldn't have picked a better place to get this tattoo done!!

Fantastic experience: Been a lover of Northside since 2000 when I got my first tattoo, have visited numerous times since for different artists. Theres always a great atmosphere and Low always gets the great artists working here.

Negative experience: Incredibly overpriced - had a little heart on my wrist the size of a 5p coin and it cost me £40! Granted equipment costs etc however it only took the artist 5 mins if that to complete the tattoo and I personally think she took advantage of me as it was my first tattoo! Will never be going there again! Nearly said she can get a laser and take it straight off I was so shocked at the price!

Fantastic experience: I was working overseas when I booked my tattoo and I had to email the ideas I had for my tattoo rather than discussing them face to face with the artist, which was rather worrying for me. When I got to the shop for my appointment, Gregg had taken every word of my email into consideration and drawn up a fantastic design ready to start within minutes of my walking in!! Very professional, with excellent results! Highly recommended by me!!

Fantastic experience: Went for a tattoo off Bella. Great atmosphere and very clean. I also liked that they're collecting food/toys etc for a local animal shelter. They cover a lot of tattoo styles and have guest artists as well. I will be back for another tattoo off Bella but I'm looking at the other designs as well. One of the only 2 places I go to for tattoos on Newcastle. Highly recommend.
