Fantastic experience: I was in last Thursday getting a snake and apple tattoo, experience was perfect lovely tattoo studio and very talented artists thats work there, (especially Mike who did my tattoo.) I absolutely love it.

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo here on the 30/04/2026 and can’t fault at all. I have seven tattoos and all done here at Pins. I woudlnt go anywhere else for them. The shop is lovely and clean the workers are dead canny thank you so much for making my experance brilliant x

Negative experience: Had a tattoo here in Feb 2022. Happy with the work but unfortunately sitting on the sofa in the waiting area in direct sunlight gave me discoid lupus with a patch on my head. My hair will never grow back and I am on medication for the rest of my life. Since then, the patch has only increased in side and redness. I contacted Pins and Needles to let them know and suggest that they put blinds up in the waiting area. Unfortunately their response was to block me.

Fantastic experience: Tattoo by Lucy was incredible, she is such a talented artist. Will definitely have to come back.

Negative experience: I would give this place 0 stars. I booked the Valentine’s discount offer for piercing and they had taken the entire payment in Advance. I was confirmed the appointment time on Instagram via a simple informal text but I was late by 10 mins to the appointment as I couldn’t get cabs due to bad weather. I reached and the guy at the reception very rudely told me “You’ve missed the appointment, have a lovely day” I mean, what kind of inconsiderate customer service is this? I requested them I’d wait for longer, and that I had no idea about the stringent timings. They were like I should’ve seen their Instagram stories ‘on the day of appointment’ which mentioned the stuff about timings. They told me I could get it done some other day at full price (not discounted) and that my previous payment is now void. No official confirmation was received about any of these conditions which they actually stated ‘after the appointment’ and they just expected me to walk out of there. It almost had me in tears as I was treating myself for my 30th birthday. I just want to say that you may have been fully booked or even overbooked but a little consideration wouldn’t hurt no one. I got it done on the same day, via a walk-in available around the area and was over in under 5 mins. I wonder what the situation would look like if it was the other way round and a customer was kept waiting. Review update: Someone from the studio stalked me on Instagram and sent harassing messages from a couple of accounts. That should tell you all you need to know. Swear words? Really I did in fact say sorry, not my fault if you conveniently missed that detail in your response. Please check out the photo to see who’s entitled and using swear words. And to clarify I stood out there waiting for Lucy to answer the phone and see if there was any miscommunication, was not interested in staring at you for sure.

Fantastic experience: As soon as I walked in the staff were so welcoming and helpful with all my questions, I wanted a Star wars tattoo and after talking about it for a while they started playing Star wars music which was great and told me I can to the right place. I've had 3 tattoos from Andie who did a great job and I'll be coming back for any other tattoos I'd like to get.

She went above and beyond to make sure the tattoos we were getting were spot on and didnt rush even though they took longer to do than estimated. The work is fantastic and she is a great artist will definitely return and would recommend

Negative experience: From start to finish a shocking and very rude service will never go there again had 2 ear piercings both fell out with inn days. I have never had problems with piercings in the past I have had done else where,should have known better . Could not go back to the shop due to travelling 40 minutes to get there as it was a birthday treat £50 down the pan be warned

Fantastic experience: I had my tattoo done ages ago I had the ugliest cover up it was a big black splodge but James Norry did me an amazing sleeve which took a while to get done because of work commitments but James was amazing he always made me feel relaxed and they always have a great atmosphere where they always make sure that u feel included and not ignored Jon always makes sure front of house the is spotless my only complaint needs a cappuccino machine lol . I will defo be back xx

Negative experience: I liked my tattoo, and the artists seemed friendly. however, the cleanliness of the studio is up for debate. The studio is full of dog hair, even their couches in the waiting area reek of dog & are covered with dirt. I own dogs myself, but I know to clean up after them never mind in a tattoo studio.

Negative experience: What I asked for vs what i got… Was booked in with Tom as a gift as his bio specifically says all styles welcome and he also specifically told us he could do fine line. I went to my appointment confident that as we had already told him to go with the one we sent over rather than the one which he had drawn up that I would be happy with it. I specifically said “exactly like the photo”, meaning how light it is, the amount of lines, the chain length, etc. When I fully looked at it when I got home I realised countless things that are not right, not to mention how dark and shaded it looks. The shape is not correct, it is flatter on the left side than the right, there is an area where he went out of the lines on the right hand side and also the lines are not symmetrical on either side. Overall I am very disappointed with this experience even more so because this is a tattoo I have wanted for years with a special meaning and now I have to pay to have it removed and redone somewhere else. EDIT: the reference photo is not a healed tattoo it is fresh, so no excuse for mine to be that dark. Further edit: Tom has now blocked us after we simply told him we weren’t happy with his work. I was also promised that the tattoo would lighten within weeks yet it has been 2 months and it looks worse that it originally did. Tom also did a small lettering tattoo at the same time and the letters are all different sizes and incomplete lines, to which he dismissed when this was brought to his attention. Absolutely disgusting.

Negative experience: the tattoo is gorgeous but the studio atmosphere was uncomfortable. i ended up paying 2 deposits as they were unclear about booking dates and the deposit does not come off total price of the tattoo like in a usual studio. wouldn’t go back. like i said the tattoo itself is lovely

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. Shop well set up and clean. Had a day session with Sophie. Brilliant. So happy with the results, custom black patchwork but all her flash drawings (probably not right terminology ) look cracking as well. Will def be booking back in for more. (Music was suspect mind, didn't even know who Bruce Springsteen was ).

Fantastic experience: I got tattooed by Tom Carr for my first session at Pins and I’m so happy with the outcome so far. Had a full day session with him and we spoke about loads of different stuff, the rest of the artists were chatty with me too and they generally spent the time to talk and give their advice. I’m booked in with Tom again to continue the work. Tom takes his career very seriously and he wants the best for the customer but he also puts his advice across to give the best work. The fire was Toms idea and was not stencilled on he drew it from a reference and tattooed it, absolutely unreal!! I can’t praise him enough and the shop itself is just so cool.

Fantastic experience: Sophie recently tattooed me and two of my friends, amazing service. We each got yolo (a strange tattoo idea we know) but she never once made us feel judged for our silly tattoo and had such a comforting energy that really calmed our nerves. She took great time and was so patient showing us different fonts and many sizes as she knew we were unsure of what we wanted. Absolute legend and couldn’t recommend more :)

Fantastic experience: One of the best tattoo shops I've visited by far. Really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Even though busy they were kind enough to fit me in for a same day appointment as I was only in town for a few days. Had a fantastic bit of work done on my back to a very high standard for a very reasonable price. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, pop in see for yourself.

Fantastic experience: Great shop and friendly staff, I got a tattoo in September 2022 by Anth_tattoo and its amazing. Its a Polynesia arm wrap which I understand is difficult but he didn't complain and it took around 4 hours to complete! Definitely recommend going to the shop and meeting the staff, Great job Pins And Needles!!!

Negative experience: The level of professionalism in this place is awful. Jon is the most arrogant, obnoxious person and the way he talks to women is disgraceful. He's greedy and the power he thinks he has, has went to his head. As for the tattooist, as much as I liked him as a person my tattoo was still unfinished after 2 rounds, he promised me a third round then I was constantly fobbed off and then he lied his way out. Can't obide liar's (I won't name and shame him as I don't have to stoop to their level). I've had to go elsewhere to get it finished. So what should have cost me £80 cost me £180 wouldn't even give them 1 star but unfortunately for me you have to pick something in order to post

Negative experience: Got a tattoo here last year, it's really patchy and the edges are rough and bumpy. The tattoo artist was really friendly but I wouldn't want another tattoo there. No one told me it was cash only or the price until after I had the tattoo and ended up being £80 for a tattoo that is so simple and small, it only took 30-40 minutes. I was considering getting a different design before this one and messaged the Facebook page but they asked what I wanted I told them and then they stopped replying. The guy at the front desk seemed unwelcoming but maybe I was just nervous since it was my first.

Positive experience: Still bringing the customers in.

Negative experience: Guy on the front counter is soooooo rude, absolute chip on his shoulder edit: no that isn't me, I simply came in and asked if I could see my friend and was refused in a very rude manor. The issue of me not being able to go is understandable just the guy on the door was very rude. Don't try and shoe horn random issues into reviews to make yourself look better. Enjoy your day

Negative experience: Came and got daith piercings with my friend a few months back. I can’t remember the name of the piercer but the place was not sanitary where the piercings were being performed. We didn’t get our ears marked out on where the piercing would be and the ear was not even wiped off before or after the piercings were done. Who knows if the tools were sanitized before as well. I would of left but I didn’t even have the chance to say anything before the piercing was done as it took basically 2 minutes from when I sat down to when I was walking out of the room. I don’t know how this place does with tattoos but I wouldn’t even bother going back after that experience

Fantastic experience: messaged on the morning asking what availability they had, tattoo was done by 12:45 the same afternoon. in love with my new tattoo and could not recommend the place enough!

Fantastic experience: Have had 3 different tattoos here, with 3 different artists, and every time I've been so impressed! Love the standards and love the friendliness of all of the team. Had a few piercings done here as well, and always felt looked after and they've healed well.

Fantastic experience: Recently got my first tattoo here. Messaged Jon on FB and got back to me quickly and recommended which artist for my design and it was ideal. Followed COVID rules really well and nice to see the covid tests being handed out to the staff so you knew they were getting regular checks. Tom did my tattoo and was really easy going and nice bloke. Nice environment everyone was joking on and having a good laugh.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here, was getting a touch-up of a tattoo I got somewhere else that had badly faded, was super nervous and Jon was absolutely lovely and helped me stay calm. I'm so much happier with my tattoo now!

Negative experience: Have had a really poor experience with Pins and Needles Tattoo Studio. I originally visited for a small tattoo but due to poor hygiene I have had multiple issues. Jon has demonstrated really poor professional standards.
