Fantastic experience: I found Laneways Tattoo Studio on Instagram while looking for somewhere to do a tattoo for me while on holiday in New Zealand. I messaged Josh as his fine line work came up and I was really impressed. Josh was really flexible and drew up the designs exactly as I imagined. The studio was really cool and had a good vibe. Fantastic experience: I was recommended to visit Laneways from another shop when they weren't able to accommodate my needs due to time frame and "blast over" technique tattoo. I met with James to discuss options and styles. James was patient and professional and in no time at all we came up with a game plan that suited my needs and exceeded my expectations. My new tattoo will be done over 3-4 sessions. Fantastic experience: I visited Laneways Tattoo today, and due to a misunderstanding, my appointment had accidentally been scheduled for two months from now instead of today. Since I’m leaving New Zealand tomorrow, waiting wasn’t an option. The person at the front desk went out of their way to make my tattoo happen anyway — and in the end, I was able to get tattooed the same day! Piri, my tattoo artist, took the time to discuss my idea and offered thoughtful suggestions. I truly felt like I was in the best hands, and the tattoo turned out amazing. This was my first tattoo, and at the end, Priri carefully explained how to take care of it. Thank you so much, Laneways team, for making this possible!

Negative experience: Worked with Josh to get my first tattoo and he was a very chill dude. However mistakes were made during the tattoo process and once all was said and done there were promises of fixing it for free, however after many cancellations it was never done. I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed.

Wether your first or last everyone there was nice, patient easy going and chilled, had a quick briefing of what I wanted and how much/long it would be then gave me a few examples of each design then checked if I was ok throughout the process. Negative experience: I saw Grace for a tattoo appointment yesterday. She seemed rushed and annoyed with me from the start (I’m assuming because my time was pushed back 30 minutes due to the previous client. My time was the last of the day.) When I asked her about making little adjustments to the design it felt like she got frustrated at me as she kept sighing. I left feeling like she didn’t care and wanted me out of there. If I hadn’t have been rushed throughout the time I would’ve had time to notice things I would have changed about the tattoo. Really disappointed as I thought Laneways was one of the best in Christchurch.

Fantastic experience: Josh has done all my tattoos, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. His fine-line work is always perfect and he puts so much care into every piece. He’s also created some really special and meaningful tattoos for my friends/family, which meant a lot to us. He takes the time to get everything right and always has good yarns. The whole experience is always relaxed and professional :) definitely recommend!

Negative experience: you want the best tattoos in christchurch??! i would 100% recommend going anywhere BUT here!!! had the disprivelage of sitting for an extra 30 minutes while my tattooist chatted with others after telling her what i wanted. she then charged me an extra $50 for that 30 minutes like WHAAAAT!!!

Fantastic experience: Went in for a little ‘souvenir’ fineline tattoo and left the studio very happy. Victor was really quick and on point with the design and execution. Not being a local sometimes makes it hard to pick the right place. But I’ve been instantly directed to the right artist when reaching out with my idea in the first place and it’s been a great experience all the way. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Have had 5 or so sessions with Josh now. He has worked on two new pieces, and one fix up on a tattoo done by another artist. The studio is clean and well looked after. Laneways have always been transparent about pricing, there are no hidden costs. They are also very welcoming. I would definitely recommend coming here for some ink, whether you are a first timer or covered in tattoos.

Fantastic experience: Laneways was great, professional, patient, and friendly service from all staff. It was my first tattoo, and I had a lot of questions. Plus, I was trying to make the appointment from overseas. I only had limited days to make time for an appointment because of my work commitment. There must have been over 35 emails sent back and forth for over a month to confirm an appointment. In all this, Josh (I hope I got the name correct), who was corresponding with me, was patient and polite! When the day came, all the staff were friendly. Piri worked with me to finalise a design, explained all the procedures, and had a great chat during the tattooing. The venue was clean, spacious, and well-lit. Overall, it was a great experience for a first-inker... Most important, I Iove the tattoo Piri on me. :-) Thank you Piri and Josh.
