Fantastic experience: I just can't fault this place! I have seen 4 artists here. 5 different tattoos. Each amazing in their own way. The vibe is always on point. Clean and tidy. You just can't go wrong here. I had Emma this time and she was just lovely, made my piece everything I wanted and more - she understood what I wanted and helped me fine tune it to perfection Cannot recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: The whole process with Soular Tattoo is amazing. The initial consult emails were detailed and timely. The price matched the quote, the parlour has a nice moody reception that makes you feel relaxed and the work area is so clean and bright. Harry was my artist and I appreciate him and his work so much! Harry bought my concept to life exactly as I imagined it and was an absolute pleasure, he was detailed, informative and caring. Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been getting work done here for years, and there is a reason we keep coming back. Matt is an absolute OG of Christchurch, hands down the best, with the level of experience you just cant beat. He only brings in top artists so the quality is always next level. The studio has such a vibrant welcoming vibe that makes every visit a great experience. Would not go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I had a memorial tattoo done by Emma Lilly yesterday. She was extremely professional and thorough. Made sure I was happy with placement etc before starting. She was extremely hygienic and clean, as was the entire studio! Absolutely thrilled with result! She is also a very gentle tattooist. Would highly recommend her and Soular Tattoo studio as a whole.

Positive experience: Emma was my artist. She knows her stuff. She was keen on recommendations and understanding what I wanted. She was also supportive of tatting in stages if I wasn't 100% sure about whether or not I really wanted all of a particular design- a great quality in an artist. The environment was very relaxed and staff accepting and engaging. I would definitely recommend Soular Tattoo.

Nice friendly and relaxed environment, good communication via email re setting appointments and via Instagram with the artist to discuss the design before hand. My artist was Stefania, happy with her work, too bad she's leaving soon but will likely go to Soular again in future :)

She’s patient, great at listening and is always happy to help me bring my ideas to life. She is a very skilled artist and her attention to detail is amazing. Sonia has tattooed me in many different styles and she is amazing at all of them, seems there’s nothing she can’t do.

I know he passes his experience onto his other artists. I have been coming here regularly over the last couple of years and have had quite a bit of tattoo work done. The quality of this work make them stand out, and they receive a lot of positive attention. Matt's attention to detail is 2nd to none, and he will only be happy when your tattoo is done right.  The artists here are passionate about their craft. I hear them exchanging ideas and taking an interest in each others work.  It's always a good positive atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Soular Tattoos staff are friendly and professional. I have been there 3 times in the last 18months or so, and Sonia, is very talented and exceptional at creating incredible tattoos with amazing detail. She listens to what you are wanting and creates exactly that. She is kind, caring and easy to converse with. Thankyou Sonia, I'm sure you will be missed greatly.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with our service… We had a lot of confusion and miscommunications around pricing which we came to an agreement on, which is fine. But beyond that, our artist Stefania was half an hour late, didn’t properly greet us or make any effort to get to know us, or understand the meaning of the tattoo. My friend apologised for twitching so much at one point and her response was “yeah”. Then when I was getting mine done she kept holding me down and telling me to stop moving. Finally, we weren’t given, offered or even suggested after care products, just an information sheet. We also were never at any point asked to provide ID or sign consent forms, with no online contract or anything. Considering the price I’m surprised we were only covered with gladwrap, and with the lack of any friendliness, let alone customer service. I would also further like to request a copy of the design as it was designed externally and ever so slightly tweaked by the artist, we have paid for it and would like a copy. We left part way through the second tattoo because Stefania was making me so uncomfortable and I would not want to return to that environment, but would still like to complete the matching tattoo.

Gave him freedom for the rest and he bloody delivered! Exactly the Kirihuri that I had in mind. Bonus that he tattooed my wife over 10 years ago. We will both be back for our next pieces.

Karl did my very first tattoo a couple of days before halloween 2023 & I plan to rebook to see him again soon. Harry is currently tattooing me & my husband's matching tattoos right now for my birthday 3/1/2024. The Soular Staff here are so awesome. Music and vibes are always great. Great location, the building is sooo cool! Wicked studio set up very clean & tidy. Everyone has a unique style here. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Thank you for making my tattoo experience awesome.

Fantastic experience: Easy process, great to deal with and tattoos are always above expectation. Karl is an amazing artist and I always trust his input on designs. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Positive experience: Lovely place and staff, however I didn't feel very supported by my artist, though she tried her best. I felt pricing was a little bit steep as my design was simple line art with some lettering and took less than 30 minutes to tattoo and only about an hour all up and it totalled $350. Still a lovely place but sadly won't be back as I didn't leave feeling too great

Fantastic experience: Sonia is a legend - she has designed and competed 3 tattoos for me - including my first one ever, which was an awesome experience. Sonia also recently added watercolour to a dense black tattoo on my forearm that was done at another studio, which has elevated it so much more and made it look so organic like it was always meant to be that way. Soular itself is clean, friendly and the vibes are good - lots of good chat and excellent music selections. Rate this place so highly - and Sonia is awesome - thoroughly recommend!
