Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, nice welcoming environment

Negative experience: ive never had an issue going here for any of my prior piercings, so i didn't think that this time would be any different. i was really, really nervous about it because it's my tongue. the day before i saw kayy (who doesn't do tongue piercings but is wonderful ♡♡♡♡) and she said to come back in the day after so hazel could do it for me. fine, no issue at all, i did. hazel is much more no-nonsense which i usually appreciate, you can just go in and come back out and it's done and that's that. she's done a few of my other ones which are all great. this time, i went in and she got to it right away. i knew what to expect from my own research, but she didn't talk through anything or even get me to check the placement in the mirror. while holding my tongue in the clamp, she asked if i was ready. i said no. she kind of just scoffed and stabbed the needle through anyway. beyond the discomfort of a new piercing (especially in my mouth) i felt like my consent was violated. obviously i signed the form, and i paid for the service, so nothing is technically wrong. but it's leaving a horrid taste in my mouth that i trusted someone with something like this and they did not seem to care at all that i wanted to wait a minute. moreso than anything i felt like my being afraid was an inconvenience. if you're nervous about getting a tongue piercing, this isn't the place to go. if not, go crazy, their piercings are good lol

Positive experience: Lovely staff and quick service, unfortunately if you opt for an upgrade the bars are extremely short and don’t allow room for swelling, so the healing process is extremely painful.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this shop for about six years, and every visit has been wonderful. The staff always go above and beyond, and the customer service is always excellent. Kyle and Kayy made my most recent visit especially enjoyable. It’s the small interactions like these that can really brighten someone’s day. I truly appreciate their friendliness and attention to detail!

Negative experience: Incredibly rude. Entered asking for a piercing, man at the desk glared at me and said what aggressively when I asked for clarification of what time they’ll be open to do my piercing. Go to the piercing place upstairs instead. Far nicer.

Negative experience: didn’t get a piercing here, was just looking at the shirts but the guy on the front desk was very very rude. someone simply asked if they were still doing piercings at 5pm and he was very rude to them with the way he spoke

Fantastic experience: I recently went in for my second ear piercing and was feeling pretty nervous. My original piercings had closed up over time, so I’d previously gone to Superdrug to have them redone — but unfortunately, they messed up the positioning. Kellie was absolutely brilliant. Even though I was anxious (especially knowing it would be done with a needle rather than a gun — I’m not great with needles!), she was incredibly friendly and instantly put me at ease. She explained the whole process clearly and was so reassuring throughout. Not only did she fix the poor placement from my previous piercing, but she was also super mindful of my needle anxiety — quick, efficient, and gentle. I’m completely in love with my new piercings and genuinely grateful for the confidence she gave me to go through with it. Thank you again, Kellie! I’d highly recommend this place to anyone considering a piercing — you’ll be in safe, caring hands.

Fantastic experience: My 15 year old had her septum pierced here, they were great with her and advised what size she could have to hide it at school and she was very pleased with it! 7 months on and it healed perfectly with no issues. It was cash only when we went. We showed up on the day as a walk on and she was pierced 20 minutes later. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Honestly the most unhelpful and miserable bunch of people I’ve ever met. I went in twice, refused to help me with choices for new piercings, the jewellery broke in my ear and is crap quality. The woman moaned cos she had to pierce on her lunch, stunk of onions. Upsold me something and then never actually put it in my ear. Disaster. Go to Holier than thou.

Fantastic experience: Had my very first tattoo done here with Chorley and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience! We called a few days beforehand and were told walk-ins were welcome, which was great. The Scottish guy who helped me first (sorry I didn’t catch your name!) was absolutely brilliant — funny, patient, and so reassuring. He went through my design, style, and size, answering all my “first timer” questions without making me feel silly. I was quite anxious, but the atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Chorley then completed my tattoo and was just as amazing — genuinely interested in what I was having done, chatting to keep me calm, and making the whole thing feel easy. The studio was spotless, the vibe was chilled, and honestly it was nothing like the intimidating experience I’d imagined. I went with a few friends who got piercings, and they had the same great service — they’re already planning their next ones! I can’t wait to go back for more tattoos, and I’d recommend this place to absolutely anyone, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth.

Negative experience: Don't use the trainer piercer. The person was rude made no eye contact and didn't make an attempt to relax you etc. They didn't pierce my nose correctly. They were trying to pierce it for about 15 minutes, this is definitely not normal nor professional. My nose piercing still hurts a year after having it done from here.

Fantastic experience: Quick and was well looked after. I was nervous going in for my ear piercing and the piercer I saw was lovely and reassuring and talked me through the aftercare. Will be coming back if I get more ♥️

Fantastic experience: Popped in on a busy Saturday, after being in the city for a Shed Seven gig, and was so impressed by the team especially Kai who did a painless tattoo near my ankle. I'm really happy at how well they treated me and listened to my needs.

Fantastic experience: First ever piercing and got a single nipple done. The girl at reception made it seem so chill, was nervous for my first one and she assured me. Rory who administered the piercing was very friendly and Informative and guided me through it all. Quick and easy and barely felt any pain. Definitely recommend and maybe coming back soon for a lobe piercing.

Positive experience: I had nipple piercings and a septum piercing done here in August 2024, following a recommendation from a friend. The septum piercing went fine with no complications. The nipple piercing did not go well. I was concerned that my anatomy would not work with it, and I asked the piercer for advice during a consultation. They advised me that the nipple piercing would work on my body despite one of my nipples being mildly inverted. They pierced them and the bars used were not long enough. The piercings repeatedly rejected and I kept having to try to replace the balls because they would come off overnight. In the end, after severe piercing rejection during a holiday in Scandinavia where I was unable to get medical attention, I went to a high-end piercing studio in Glasgow, who advised me that, as per my initial worries, the piercing type was not compatible with my anatomy. The studio in Glasgow advised that the piercings would continue to reject and would eventually split my nipples if I continued to have the piercings in. I got the piercings professionally removed in Glasgow and still retain significant scarring on my nipples, seven months later. A few months later, following the area healing (apart from the scarring), blood blisters formed inside the wounds where the piercings had been. I also developed a perseverant skin infection in the area that was not present previously. Cancer screening on the area ruled cancer out, but the infection (of unknown type), which has been monitored by pharmacists, GPs, and consultants, has continuously persisted for the past six months. Given the area, and the graphic nature of the wounds, I have not posted photos. I am disappointed with the poor quality of advice provided by the piercer that pierced my nipples at The Studio. This has led to multiple health complications since. I have increased the review to 3 stars due to the amenability of the staff to refund me for the service that I paid for on the basis of the medical complications since.

Negative experience: horrible lady, rude and rushed. uneven placement of my thirds and left with MULTIPLE infections including blood pouring out of my ear months after getting it! money wasted!

Fantastic experience: absolutely incredible !! ive had my mantis, large gauge daith, and eyebrows pierced all by Kay, and I wouldn’t go to anyone else now. She always takes an incredible amount of time and care to ensure that the piercings will be placed well and that i’m happy with them. And if any issues ever arise with my piercings, she’s quick to troubleshoot and make sure that everything goes well! She is also just an absolute delight to talk to, incredibly positive energy, and always makes my piercing experiences so much more comfortable and fun! :) The rest of the staff in the studio are also all incredibly respectful and lovely!

Fantastic experience: Went into the studio, I was pierced by the wonderful kellie, she explained the process, I was in and out in 5 minutes, she put me at ease and made me laugh, cannot wait to go back, only piercer I will go to from now on ❤️

Negative experience: absolutely horrible bob lady. so rude! didn’t ask for me to check if the piercing map out was even straight, and continued to show no kindness towards us and didn’t even bother to say hi. makes the environment very uncomfortable and even ended up making the piercing bent. didn’t give time to even look at it once i got up as she plastered it straight away while i was still laying down. probably trying to hide it lol. didn’t say anything about aftercare or ask how we felt about the piercing extra star for the sweet guy who was very welcoming and way better even tho he is more new. if you go make sure to go for him

The tattoo & piercing walk-in services are great and very informative and all the staff there are friendly, professional and give you confidence in their skill set. The prices here are also very reasonable. Would definitely recommend. Especially if it's your first tattoo or piercing - they cultivate a safe space

Fantastic experience: I was a walk in despite being Saturday at gone 11am & busy, I’d read reviews prior & I understand everyone has a different review of places & some were good reviews & obviously some negatives, But I tend to like to make my own mind up & my own experiences & be open minded rather than not trying a place we all have our own minds. My 1st encounter was accessing afflecks due to needing an electric wheelchair outside from leg damage/osteoarthritis but the staff were great one comes & gets the portable ramp so you can access it & use the lift, I went in the tattoo studio & the guy at the desk was so friendly & he said yes to the walk in tattoo. He helped me send the photos through I wanted done as I am rubbish with sending pics, he even taught me to airdrop pics! Then the tattooist drew the ones I wanted & then once he asked was that ok I said yes & I went in, he was friendly throughout chatting a bit to me which I appreciate as I have severe anxiety & was secretly struggling as it was a Saturday in Manchester & that means crowds of people & afflecks was quite packed out! He made sure I was ok with the placement first on my arm before he was gonna start which I was, it didn’t take long & he said due to me having old scars from previous ( Harming) the colour may need going over when it’s healed a bit, he said because my scars were quite old it would probably be ok but if the one that was coloured did need a top up just pop in and it’s free. I was given my aftercare info & a sachet of ointment to use. So all in all my experience was 5 star, I totally recommend this studio

Fantastic experience: So far I’ve had 3 tattoos with @chorley_wood and every time has been perfect. Chorley’s work is immaculate and she is always friendly and professional. She’s always ready to take design and placement ideas and work with me to make sure the tattoo is the best it can be. The aftercare information is also excellent. Cannot recommend highly enough and I will definitely be back again and again!

She put the first marking on and she had no problem when I asked for It slightly higher. Once in the right place It was done so quickly. Negative experience: I had my belly button re-pierced here over a year ago. It has since rejected. I messaged the page on Facebook with an image showing the piercing where you can actually SEE the bar through my old piercing hole. I asked the studio if it was normal and if it would cause any problems. They said it would be fine, so I carried on wearing it. Now I've been left with a horribly scarred belly button and it makes me feel really self conscious because of how it looks now. I'm disappointed to say the least. I got my belly button re-pierced to make myself feel better about my stomach after having two kids, but now I feel like it looks worse than before!

Negative experience: Please be careful when going here for a piercing. I got my tragus pierced and followed the recommended aftercare, but it got infected almost straight away. Now on antibiotics with a terrible fever and completely bed bound.

Negative experience: Got my nose pierced here and the piercer had a weird and kinda rude attitude. She did the piercing really slowly so it was unnecessarily painful and then was messing about with it for ages because she couldn’t get the ball on. By far my most painful piercing. 1 extra star for being cheap though.

Fantastic experience: the piercer (kay) was really friendly and very informative talked me through the process before hand and was super lovely even after i went a bit dizzy making sure i felt okay before leaving, got lots of great info on after care for the piercing over all was a speedy a positive experience

Negative experience: AVOID THIS PLACE i dont usually bother writing reviews, however the service i recieved here was not only disappointing but also dangerous. I came in yesterday for snakebites, straight away i was greeted with an unprofessional and rude manner. I was pierced by a lady with dark hair in a bob and she made no attempt whatsoever to make me feel comfortable. She never bothered to ask me if i felt alright or if i was ready for my piercing, she didnt even bother to say hello and once my piercing was finished she never asked if i was happy with it, i was given virtually no information on the healing process/aftercare either. She marked where my piercings were going to be placed (didnt measure them or anything) and when i told her i thought they were slightly wonky, she dismissed my concerns and just told me that my lips werent the same on each side. The bars that i was pierced with were far too small and didnt accommodate for any swelling whatsoever, i had to go to a different piercer today just to get longer bars put in them. When having my bars changed, the new piercer noticed that the original piercing was not done straight and when she inserted the jewellery i could see it protruding around 5mm lower than where the exit of the piercing was. This meant that the original piercer had inserted the needle at the wrong angle, taken it out slightly and put it straight back in at another angle! I am a heavily pierced person and i have never had an experience as horrific as this one, ill be extremely surprised if these heal properly, stay away.

Negative experience: Got my 4th and 5th lobe piercings there 2 weeks ago. The piercings have swollen up despite me cleaning them as instructed, and part of the jewellery in both of my holes has been swallowed up by the skin of my ear, meaning that obviously the bar is way too short for a fresh piercing. I'm giving two stars because the piercer was friendly and reassuring through the process, but other than that the jewellery they use should be looked into for the clients' wellbeing and safety.

Negative experience: I’ve never had a problem with any other piercings I’ve had at other places yet here my nose stood has got really badly infected with puss coming out of it. The jewellery was way too big for a start. This was my second nose stud the first had no issues from another piercing place. Would personally recommend the white dragon in Stockport as I’ve never once experienced anything like this there. I’m never getting a piercing at afflecks again, my friend came with me and got the same piercing and the same thing happened to her and yes we have both been cleaning them.

Negative experience: awful. got my eyebrow pierced here, went to get it downsized and they declined doing it as it was an “irritation bump”. turns out they used a nickel bar which lead to me having an allergic reaction and blistering. don’t know what they’re doing

Fantastic experience: Went in last Friday and asked for a naval piecing, The women who did my piecing was so lovely she made sure I was OK every step and told me what she was doing,they also got me to fill in a form to say I have proved my age and that anything that goes wrong with the peicing after it is done is my responsibility not there's, I would definitely go here again as I had a great experience.

Negative experience: Would never return here. Tattoos have healed really badly and are still lumpy nearly 18 months later. (just the cat and glass, not the bees or shading) Lines are extremely thick and rough too. My friend who came at the same time as me is having the exact same problems. The guy who did my tattoo clearly wasn’t in the best of moods, didn’t even speak a word to me. Ask him questions and I was totally blanked. Not welcoming at all.

Negative experience: Jewelary in the cabinet is not sterile, they use externally threaded jewelary as standard. The blonde piercer is very unknowledgeable and doesn’t really know what he’s doing, he takes a very long time, and can’t tell the difference between a 1.2 and a 1.6 I have had multiple experiences with this person and I think he should not be piercing. He made my piercings bleed when downsizing and didn’t know the length of the bar. You get what you pay for I guess.

Negative experience: Have never had a good experience here. Two visits nothing done and I’m glad I never did. The last time a few months back came in for walk ins and the guy on the counter was extremely rude even in asking what it was we wanted doing after then showing us what we would like doing tattoo wise told us the guy he had in that day couldn’t do circles. Decided to just get booked in with my regular artist.

Negative experience: Awful job. I went there to do a nose piercing and they put on a ring on my nose with a wrong angle and in the wrong position. I went to another piercer to help me change it, and she was not able to help me with any other piercing because the piercing was done so bad. It was extremely painful and she suggested to take it off, make it heal and then doing it again. I wasted money, time, and hopefully I won’t have a huge scar on my nose after this.

Negative experience: Great experience at the desk. Was having my lip re-pierced (right side). It was done at a very odd angle towards my chin very far away from where my old piercing had sat. When I politely explained that I was concerned it was catching on my teeth I was dismissed. Ended up taking it out as I couldn't speak without it rubbing on them, glad I did as due to the angle I had a line where it was pulling through my lip on the back.

Negative experience: Had two piercings done yesterday, the woman on the desk was lovely however my experience with the piercer was awful. She completely ignored my attempts to make conversation and as soon as I entered the room I felt uncomfortable. She marked me up and didn’t even explain what she was doing as she pierced me, no attempts to make me feel at ease. I tried to explain how I’d had the left side of my nose pierced before so it may be a bit more painful for me but she just ignored me. Once she was finished she gave me an aftercare sheet, didn’t check to make sure I was okay or if I was happy with the piercings. Terrible service in comparison to other places I have been. Definitely would not recommend.

Negative experience: Got my snakebites done here two days ago. Awful, absolutely awful. I was given way too long labrets that would constantly get attached to my teeth. Checked in the evening and realised that my piercings have become infected because of the labrets. There was no clean-up done whatsoever when it was pierced with blood literally dripping out for a solid 15-20 minutes. Wasn't even given a tissue to wipe it. £50 gone to waste just for a bloody infection. Do not come here

Fantastic experience: The studio and all the staff are fantastic you can tell safety, customer comfort and satisfaction are a priority. Had my earlobe & industrial piercings done when I seemed faint staff jumped in with a sugary pepsi to help. Ive never felt rushed or an after thought. I messaged on Thursday about two small tattoo and was given a quote quickly and asked to drop of a deposit (only £20!) the next day I did so and was booked for a tattoo session in less than 24 hours. They asked about the style of the artwork to find best artist for me too. When getting a tattoo today we're accomodating of me being late when i called up. Allowed me to have the tattoo stencil repositioned multiple time and throughout the session where warm, welcoming and friendly. On the way out the even gave aftercare advice not just for the tattoo but for the industrial piercing i had done months ago. (Even threw in a free piercing cleaning mist!) Will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone you're a credit to the profession. ☺️

Fantastic experience: The lovely Kay pierced me today and she was quick, it was basically painless, and she gave me detailed aftercare instructions. Plus the jewelry and piercing look amazing! She even helped me discuss perfect locations for it due to the anatomy of my ear so she’s insanely knowledgeable and helpful. 10/10 will come back for more holes in the future!

Negative experience: My friend and I have never experienced such unprofessionalism from the studio artists in our life. They were so rude and had issues with us correcting the tattoo design they “supposedly” replicated. We had a specific design in mind and wanted that exactly but they kept changing the design. They even admitted that they didn’t want to replicate the same design and drew what they thought was best however that wasn’t what we asked for and when we told them that they started huffing and puffing saying “that’s literally the same” when it clearly wasn’t and they admitted it wasn’t. What’s the point in getting a tattoo which is for life if it’s not exactly the one you want. This is one of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant experience with the piercers here! The piercings were affordable and of amazing quality. The piercers made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole experience.

Negative experience: Had my rook and cartilage done here they put the wrong jewellery in both, they put a tiny bar in my freshly pierced rook??? This has caused so much pressure around my ear and pressure headaches. Really do not recommend, seems like all they care about is the money and not their customers well being. Most Staff are also extremely unprofessional and rude, spend your money elsewhere.

Negative experience: Went here to get a piercing as I had been a few times in the past. Was greeted by a lovely lady on the counter and was hoping she was the piercer. Unfortunately she wasn’t. The piercer didnt introduce herself nor say hello. She wouldn’t let my partner come back with me although the room was big enough for him to stand out of the way and not obstruct. I was told to sit on the bed and no other conversation was had even though I tried to engage. She marked me up and then told me to lie down. She gave me no reassurance and minimal explanation as to what she was doing. It was dead cold silent and she could see I was in pain. She then flung an aftercare sheet at me and didn’t even say goodbye. I have never had such a bad experience with piercings or tattoos and to say she’s doing so many daily im surprised there was no other reviews saying the same. I won’t be reccomending to anyone or be returning. Only got two stars as the girl on the counter was so lovely

Negative experience: Wanted a piercing, was told on the phone they take walkins and open at 10am on Saturday. After getting in to Manchester early with a toddler in tow I was told by a man the lady eating her bacon butty who I spoke with on the phone day before ,no piercings until 11am after they have sterilised. We couldnt wait with my son so had to leave it. If they had something on the website or if the lady would have told us this on the phone day before it would have saved us a wasted trip. They came across as rude, unbothered and not very helpful. Why give them our business after that ?

Fantastic experience: I have been tattooed and pierced here a few times. The staff are all friendly and professional. Never had any issues. The staff provide great aftercare advice and a good range of jewellery :)

Fantastic experience: Recently visited here to have my sons ear pierced. It was done by the amazing and professional kay. Kay spent time with us talking us through things before the piercing and gave us loads of after care advice! To which my sons piercing is healing up nicely. Thank you kay!

Negative experience: came in for double nipple piercing. the woman on the desk with the teeth gems was nice and helpful. the woman who pierced me with a dark hair & a bob was very quiet in the piercing room and didn’t try to make me feel at ease in any shape or form, just simply told me to take a deep breathe in when she pierced them, probably the only words she spoke. the bars she put in were way too small and my nipple was almost enveloping the balls, i had to come in around a week later to ask them to size them up, she only put a bar 1mm bigger in and so the problem persisted and i ended up having to order longer barbells. not very happy with my experience but atleast i didn’t catch an infection

Fantastic experience: Had my nose pierced by Amy 3 weeks ago - first piercing and I went faint. Amy took the best care of me and made sure I was okay before I eventually left. Thank you for the Pepsi and the awesome nose ring!

Fantastic experience: I called in today to have my ears pierced! Kay was fantastic! She is very helpful, friendly and looked after me! The studio it’s self was fab! Great atmosphere, music and the manager hasn’t changed, he still is super funky and awesome. I’ve been coming for years and love it still!

Fantastic experience: Proper good place, everyone’s so lovely. Went to get my septum repierced and there was a bit of a wait (about 15 mins) everyone was so apologetic about the wait but I literally had a walk in appointment I wasn’t in anyway expecting to be in and out! Definitely recommend this place

Negative experience: System changed where you can no longer book but walk in only. Went early ish to avoid disappointment. Got there no staff available to do piercing and the receptionist suggested going to a different place. So if you thinking of going - Maybe call first before turning up as we spent £20 on train fares.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service from start to finish - I’ve been here a couple of times now on days out with my girl friends…it’s become a thing we go out get something somewhere pierced and then for drinks… anyway I digress… Service here has always been brilliant. Staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable about the piercing you want and give great advice on locations on your body for them. Piercing areas are really clean, sterile and private. The team welcome you to contact them afterwards if you need any aftercare advice. Great range for choices of jewellery too! Whole heartedly recommend the studio to anyone wanting a new piercing - do it!! Getting another one here soon and one day maybe one day I may get enough courage to get my nips pierced too!

Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo here today and it was a really positive experience, lovely team but also very efficient with timings. I also got my nose pierced here two months ago and never had any problems in the healing stage.

Negative experience: Incredibly rude staff and they only have bars and rings available for ear piercings no studs don’t go there
