Perfect Image Tattoo & Piercing

Fantastic experience: A few weeks ago my girlfriend and I went in for some birthday piercings! Amber, our piercer was so fantastic - knowledgeable, calm, cool and collected. I got 3 pieces done (rook, flat & helix) and it was a super comfortable experience - Amber knows what she’s doing! My friend got a bunch of jewelry changed plus a new flat, and both of us are healing well and love the jewelry. The lovely gal who was working with Amber and team at the front spent a lot of time with us helping us choose beautiful pieces and explained everything super clearly and transparently. Tattoo and piercing shops can get a bad rap for how you feel when you enter and we felt SO comfortable there with the staff. They were all so great. Thank you Amber & team!

Negative experience: The bald guy does a horrible job tattooing and on top of that overcharges as much as possible. He will tell you whatever he needs to, to convince you to pay more. He should be a salesman not a tattoo "artist".

Negative experience: Had tattoos done a few mths ago. Within a week my spouses faded and is almost unrecognizable! Yes this was on his hand and we understood with time it would fade! It did not scab, he did not scratch it. I did email asap and was called and told to stop in so it could be fixed or looked at ect. We dont live super close ( i told the individual on the phone) so only recently went back this (saturday) the girl working informed me it was either not done deep enough or scratched picked off ect ( which was not the case). So nothing they could do ‍♀️ 150$ for a 1 inch tattoo that is now faded and gone after one week and really shitty response in person. In hindsight sight we should have gone someplace else and gotten something worth 150$. I do not recommend based on price and preffessionalism! No this was not a first tattoo!

Fantastic experience: Frankie was great! I got my third pair of lobe piercings done by her and she was kind and full of useful information that I didn’t know about from previous piercing experiences (at other shops). Definitely recommend her for anyone looking to get a piercing!

Negative experience: Depends who you go to but some of the workers are not kind at all they gave me a bad piercing consultation and I understand how different services can be more pricey but there whole shop felt like a cash grab 80 for a piercing removal 110 for the itty bitty surgical steel bar there are better options out there that do a much better job in presentation and service for a much fair price and to be honest it’s not like there quality in piercings were that much good other than that I’m sure their tattoos are fine

Negative experience: If you are going to be pierced here let it be by Amber she seems to be the only one that is actually good at piercing. In total I got 6 piercings from this place, my nostril and industrial were pierced by Amber and I have nothing but good things to say about that. Took care and consideration into making sure the anatomy was correct and that I was happy with the placement. I then got my double eyebrow and lip piercing done by Brock, that unlike Amber is all bad things. First my double eyebrow, I noticed later that day that the ball on one of my eyebrow piercings was loose and I screwed it back on and thought nothing of it until a couple days later when I had woken up to find one of my eyebrow piercings completely fell out, I was disappointed and brushed it off as a simple accident. About a month or so later I went in to have my lower lip pierced and that was done by Brock, not even 24 hours later the ball had fallen off and I had to get it repierced by Amber (who kindly did not charge me). I was pretty upset as I have been pierced well over twenty separate times and have never had an issue with balls falling off of piercings and yet I had issues with all my piercings done by Brock… I was also told to use diluted alcoholic mouthwash when healing my lip but I found that irritated it horribly and I was told by multiple other piercers (including Amber) that you shouldn’t be using any sort of mouth wash regardless of dilution. Overall I would avoid being pierced by Brock.

Fantastic experience: The staff were excellent and super helpful, everyone was super nice aswell. I got a Labret piercing done by Brock, it was quick and easy. Highly recommend this place

Fantastic experience: Frankie and Amber tag teamed for my eyebrow piercing for the second time as the first piercing was migrating (I hadn't even noticed until they pointed it out) and I have basically no scarring from the first one!! They both are very gentle, considering you're getting stabbed with a needle lol. The vibes were fantastic and I'll be happy to come back for a double eyebrow once the repiercing is healed fully! Great job to you both, Frankie for the piercing and Amber for making sure there wouldn't be scarring from the other one!

Negative experience: Perfect Image of terrible customer service and admin. Long story short but essentially tried to book an appointment, was told to just call morning of and walk in. Since I was going to be on a tight schedule for the day I requested a booking, they requested a deposit which they took over the phone (no paperwork was involved) which is fine. I paid and set appt for a Saturday at 12PM. Came in on the Saturday about 10 minutes early to do paperwork, got it all filled out and then was told the artist was running late by about 15 minutes, all good, came back at 12:15 and spoke to someone else that went into the artists studio and asked how long she would be, was told another 45 minutes to an hour, as mentioned being on a tight schedule, that did not work for me so I requested my deposit back, to which I was first told that it was non refundable (sure, but I'm not the one who missed the appointment) and then was told that only the manager who was "uncontactable" could do them. Said no problem, I'll touch base with Frankie (manager) when she's in tomorrow. After speaking to her I was told again the deposit is non refundable, and that I would maybe hear from the "boss" to look into it further. After that I reached out to my credit card company and got refunded however it pisses me right off that the shop still has that $116. Deposits are to reserve a time slot and for the artist to not waist time drawing up a tattoo, the tattoo was a simple heart shape and did not require sketching and my time slot was not honored. What gives? I hope the credit card company gets their money back, as nuts as it sounds I'd rather they have it than Perfect Image.

Positive experience: Read good things about the shop and asked if they did a walk in since I'm not from here. The artist was great Tim . Very good very relaxing very funny n professional. This review isn't about the artists but the shop. I asked for roman numerials on my wrist which Tim did great n took less then 30 minutes and was charged $249. Less then 30 minutes and charged $249 was not expecting to pay that much .

Negative experience: My friend went in and was promised a price of $350 and was charged $475 this is unacceptable. She was promised a price and got charged $125 more never going back this is unacceptable

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I got our noses pierced by Brock. Great experience, clean, friendly and we are both really happy. Thanks for great service everyone! Even though they were busy we didn't feel rushed.

Negative experience: I recently got two new lobe piercings — one in the 4th hole on one ear and one in the 3rd on the other — done by Brock. I’ve had multiple piercings over the years, many of them done with a piercing gun, and I’ve never had an issue. This time, because it was a professional tattoo and piercing studio using needles, I expected less trauma to my ears. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I was trying to figure out why my right ear was more sensitive than my left, and after having my boyfriend take a closer look, we noticed there’s visible bruising behind my ear where the piercing was done. I’ve also had several cartilage piercings done with needles in the past and never once experienced bruising like this. Another concern was that Brock didn’t communicate before actually doing the piercings — there was no “take a deep breath” or warning, which every other piercer I’ve gone to has always done. Honestly, at this point I feel like I would have been better off going downstairs to Claire’s.

Fantastic experience: Tim was great; patient, attentive, gentle, and knowledgable. I’m definitely coming back for another tattoo from Tim!

Negative experience: I came here when my usual piercer was unavailable and definitely won’t be returning as I had a really bad experience recently with Brock as my piercer. Not only did he spend most of the conversation mocking past clients, he messed my nipple piercings up pretty drastically. He used jewellery that was too thin and way too short for my anatomy and he pierced far too deep. I went to my usual piercer, who fixed the issue in seconds. I see that the other piercers at this location get rave reviews, but I guess I was unlucky with who I got.

Fantastic experience: Tim was awesome! Got my first! Was small - Tim made me feel very comfortable when working on it. Very professional and patient. He is a great tattoo artist. I would recommend him 100% Thank you Tim! Great job!

Negative experience: Went in today for first time for my daughter to get her nose pierced. The young girl at the front was very nice, however the piercing woman took the person who came in after us before us, the woman who did my daughter’s nose piercing didn’t even tell her how to care for it only mentioned it could get infected and Use a very thin small needle. The piercing was $35 which I found extremely odd because every other tattoo place I called told me was $200. After reading all the negative reviews I’m feeling less confident in my choice to bring her there today.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE the tattoo I got from Anya. The line work is SO crisp. The shading is just in the right spots to make it pop. She has a very gentle hand when tattooing, I barely felt it. Also love the eyebrow piercing I got here. The studio is very clean and classy looking.

Negative experience: Don't bother. Lowest rated tattoo shop. Ignorant staff. Not sanitary. It's in a mall. What do u expect ? Go to Ruby tattoo.

Fantastic experience: I finally found my piercer! I went to Perfect Image two weeks ago for a daith and it was a great experience! The staff are friendly and professional, and there is a large selection of jewelry available in-house. Every time I walk by I see people leaving with huge smiles on their faces, which says a lot about the business. My piercer, Amber, was an amazing person to interact with. People like her make me and my friends want to keep coming back for more. She was professional yet friendly, making sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process while answering any questions I had. I can’t wait to get my second daith done by her in the future.

Negative experience: Charged me 22 plus $ and piercing came off in less than a month. I consulted on email regarding this and they said they’ll charge me again whatsoever. Poor service

Even though the young lady Stole her Boyfriends Lamb of God hoodie I'm sure she's a nice person The piercing went very well. It was an impulse move on my part. But one I'm very happy with. If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely check them out.

Fantastic experience: I have visited Perfect Image multiple times over the past couple of years and have consistently been pleased with their products, staff. Would recommend.

Negative experience: I've been to this location twice in the last year and was very disappointed with the service both times.The first time I went to get a tattoo, I left my name and phone number so that they could contact me back when the artist was available later that day. I walked around the mall for several hours and never received a call. The second time, I called ahead to schedule a piercing swap and was told that I didn't need to make an appointment and could just come in on the day. I arrived on the day we discussed, and there was no piercer available until 8 p.m. (when the mall closes). I needed to swap this piercing for a medical appointment and was left to find another place last minute to do the swap. I will not be back in the future.

Fantastic experience: My friends nose piercing fell out and she couldn't get it back in. She got it pierced at a different salon but regardless, Darcy was absolutely incredible and soo kind helping her get her nose ring back in. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend!!

Negative experience: Didn’t end up getting a piercing today. Wasn’t allowed to make an appointment, then showed up and the piercer had “gone to staples” and when she got back needed to break everyone so they wanted me to wander around the mall for FIVE HOURS. I arrived at 3pm and they said they couldn’t see me until at least 7pm. Absolutely garbage customer service. Went to steel n ink across the street where they usually require an appointment and they fit me in and I walked out 20 minutes later with two piercings. Don’t waste your time like they wasted mine. I have never had this problem at the Waterloo perfect image either.

Negative experience: I never leave reviews but in this case I absolutely have to because it was absolutely the worst experience ever do not go here the tattoo artist I had (Josh) was constantly late to the appointments so nothing was set up so the appointments always took longer than expected because I had to wait for him to set everything up and he was always stepping out for a smoke break. At one appointment he was over a hour late when he did show up he made me reschedule as he said he wouldn’t have time so unprofessional. I needed one more appointment to completely finish my tattoo after messaging/calling him for over a month constantly he finally responded saying I’m not doing tattooing anymore I had already put down $100 deposit towards my next/final appointment and my tattoo wasn’t even finished I was furious. So I called perfect image directly spoke to the manager and she confirmed Josh no longer works there so I requested a refund so I could go somewhere else they said sorry we don’t give refunds the girl I spoke to said they could talk to one of there other artists to see if any of them would be comfortable to finish it she gave me her instagram and said to send pictures of what’s been completed so far and to message her through there as that’s the best way to reach her I sent pictures and have messaged her multiple times to set up an appointment to finally finish it and have received no response. This is absolutely unacceptable to treat people this way. I understand you can’t control an artist quitting but at least offer to do something to rectify the situation if one of your artists isn’t comfortable finishing it then give me my money back. Now I’m out $100 and have a tattoo on my arm that isn’t even finished this tattoo was supposed to be for my kids I’m so upset.

Fantastic experience: So I got my nipples pierced in September of 2023 & the one healed fine but I was constantly having problems with the other. I went back to the original shop that I got them done at twice & the piercer told me my one nipple looked fine both times & left it at that. Last week I was on the verge of just taking it out because I couldn’t deal with the pain it was causing every day but I decided to give it one more try. I called Perfect Image & talked to Ella on the phone (the piercer working that day) & she was very helpful & informative with the steps we could take. Once I got there I waited a few minutes & then went into the piercing room where I showed Ella my piercing & she told me what the problem most likely was after seeing it in person (the other piercer had slightly pierced my areola) & recommended we changed out the bar to one that was a bit longer in hopes that it would help. It did!!! it’s only been a week but this is the best my nipple has felt since getting it pierced! She also made me feel very comfortable the whole time I was there & took the time to explain everything she was doing which I appreciated! Hands down the best experience I’ve had with a piercer & I’ve had a lot of piercings! Thank you Ella!

Tim Boyd was luckily available and he was able to scrape up the perfect sun tattoo with my reference photo. I am obsessed! He did it so quick, and was so chill and cool. Negative experience: This place was extremely disorganized and the reason I'm giving a one star is the way me and my friends we treated we were not greeted or welcomed when my friend asked to get the piercing done she was looked at like she was dumb asked for her number told we were going to be given a call in an hour or so because the piercer they had in was going for lunch no problem! we walked around the mall for about an hour never got a call so we came back to multiple people ahead of us we continued to wait another 2 or 3 hours after that before she even got to the back to get the piercing done , while we waited I asked them how much it would be and the costs of jewelry for a navel piercing they told me to come back on Monday (another huge waste of time) where the piercing would be cheaper they told me “I didn’t have the anatomy” when i feel they at least could have checked when we came in the days before as to not waste more of our time. my friend also asked one of the people at the front for advice about a piercing thinking she was a piercer or someone who could help was given advice and then over heard another person ask the same worker and she told the “sorry I'm not a professional I can’t give out advice” after giving my friend wrong advice. I’d also like to say there was absolutely nothing wrong with the piercer my friend had Ryan was amazing and gave us as much advice as possible.

Fantastic experience: The best service I've ever had. I've gone there for piercings and two tattoos so far. Tammy by far is the best. Funny outgoing makes you feel so comfortable and best place to go for a tattoo so highly suggest going there. He is amazing and all his work turns out wonderful

Fantastic experience: Came here after seeing a billboard on the mall after I left a close by tatt/piercing shop- it was an uncomfortable consult. Ryan and the staff were super supportive, assisted me right away with my inquiry, and helped me pick out really nice jewelry. I was so happy with my experience here yesterday, that I'm coming in today to get a helix and buy more jewelry pieces.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! The front staff were incredibly helpful, upfront with pricing and friendly. I got Ryan as my piercer and they were so lovely and gentle. I was recently diagnosed with a degenerative issue with my one ear making me increasingly hearing impaired. My ears are sensitive because of all the poking, prodding and surgery I've had in the last 3 years from doctors so I won't lie, I was anxious about more pain on my ears. Ryan def put those worries to rest because she was so calm, kind and gentle with me and was really descriptive when it came to aftercare. In the end, it didn't hurt as bad as I thought and they look amazing. I'll be back to continue decorating my ears!

Fantastic experience: Came in with some family and friends for a spontaneous little trip. Everyone else got piercings (which they loved) but I had gotten a tattoo by Tim Boyd. He was very welcoming and an amazing guy to talk with and create a quick on the spot concept. He checked with me countless times to make sure every last detail was to my liking and that I was leaving with art that I was proud to have. Very efficient and gentle, as well as having one of the quietest machines I've ever had used on me (a big plus if you ask me). Will for sure be back to get more work done by him when in the area, Thank you 1000 time over Tim!

Negative experience: Service isn't good. Why wouldn't you take appointments? I was told to come back an hour and a half later, so I killed some time at the mall. Came back and was told there was about a 40 minute wait. What a waste of my time. Went across the street to Steel N Ink and got in right away. Should have went there in the first place.

Negative experience: Last year in June, I had went to get my very first tattoo, this tattoo artist that I had was very rude and also very rude when she was showing me the styles I could choose from! She was even more rude with me while in the room getting the tattoo done! She went very deep into my skin, she didn't do a very good job. Now I have a wrist that is very sensitive to the touch and it doesn't even looked finished.!!! Next time I get a tattoo I'm going to an actual professional!!!!

Negative experience: My daughter had her ears pierced here. Basic small stud earings. Over $200 to get a piercing and they charge you extra to come back to get shorter studs. Really ? An extra 30 to downsize the stud. Anything to rip people off i guess. I highly donot recommend this place! .

Negative experience: Friend got an earlobe piercing here on early July 2023. Returned a month later since he was having trouble with healing. I really do not think the female piercer Ella knows the signs of infection or irritation. The backing on the piercing was noticeably tight and interfering with healing. When we brought this up and it got brushed off. Just today, I advised him to go to the ER, to which he was diagnosed with a localized cellulitis and prescribed antibiotics. I am NOT saying the infection was her fault, she cannot control that. HOWEVER, when a client comes to you complaining of pain, tightness, and delayed healing, ALL SIGNS OF POTENTIAL COMPLICATIONS, please listen! This is your responsibility as the person who performed the piercing. This, paired with waiting an upwards of 30-40 minutes AFTER APPOINTMENT for her to finally do the piercing, is really putting a bad taste in my mouth. She gave minimal aftercare instructions and was pretty unknowable when it comes to body modification care. Go to Steel N Ink Barrie instead. I got TWO lobe piercings done at the same time there, and they were clean, kind, and attentive to follow up.

Fantastic experience: Every time I’ve gone into Perfect Image in Barrie they are kind and helpful. On previous visits I was just browsing but yesterday I bought and had some body jewelry changed for me by Ella. Ella is really knowledgeable about piercings. She was able to look at my nose and belly ring and see what size it was. She was also great at making suggestions regarding how the jewelry would fit. Ella first changed my nose ring which was very stubborn to remove as I had it for over a year without changing it. She was super calm and gentle; she made me feel comfortable and safe in her hands. She loves what she does and you can tell! I will definitely return soon for ear piercing. The girls at the front desk are wonderful and they have a nice selection of good quality body jewelry too! Very satisfied with this location!

Fantastic experience: Took my 13 yr old daughter there for ear piercings yest(sept 2) the girls were amazing ,Gracie was very comfortable, they talked to her distracted her and was done under 10 min said she would def come back Def a great experience for Gracie

Negative experience: I got my septum pierced here a year ago and they pierced it crooked. The jewelry was such low quality that the threading on it actually snapped off. It was not pierced in the right spot and was extremely painful to even remove the jewelry. I had it in my nose for less than 24hrs before I had to take it out. People were nice but had a bad experience

Fantastic experience: Dallas and Ryan were an absolute amazing duo to work with when I got my nose piercing yesterday. Not only were they professional, but they were friendly, kind and compassionate too. I was well informed throughout my time at the studio, and my thoughts and feelings were seriously considered when we were discussing placement. They got me so excited for my piercing! They held my hand (almost literally) through the whole process to make it less intimidating but more of a joyful experience. I would absolutely recommend PI to anyone who wants any piercing or tattoo. I will be back!

Negative experience: This place is a disaster!! Everytime we went in for a tattoo they they were available and were not, they did not honor their workmanship or jewelry . Thye put in a too small part at piercing and said do t worry it will OK. It wasn't and because it was too short They would not honor their part in it Treated us horribly. Would not recommend. We have come to find out after accusing of user error it originated from there. They used a base that was too short , they even told my sister she would pro ably need it replaced but not to worry she could get it done when she was in town next!!

Negative experience: Do not go to this place. I had my conch pierced by Dallas. She pierced it and then said the base may be too short but not to worry about it. A month later while I was passenger in a car, I realized that my earring wasn’t in my ear anymore. I ended up finding the badevin my bra, but could not find the top. When I went back about it, they were rude and I then went somewhere else and found out that it was indeed too short so I had to buy a brand new one, and that that’s what caused the problem and why the earring broke. And I hadn’t healed properly wondered why this was happening, and now I have answers from another place.

Fantastic experience: I got my vertical labret done here and I love it! My piercer was ella and they did a great job. But most of all I love the person at the front desk! They are so sweet and helpful and talked with me until I was getting the piercing done, and hyped me up after!!! great experience for an affordable price

Also a special shout out to Ryan who answered all of my questions regarding the jewelry and was extremely welcoming, polite and energetic when my partner and I walked in. Fantastic experience: I went to Ryan and absolutely love the work he did for me. It was easy to get a response from the artist, and he is super friendly and easy to get along with. I was initially put off from this business simply for it being located in the mall, however, after attending - it’s actually quite a nice and clean place!

Positive experience: Did a walk in with Amanda, love them!
