Fantastic experience: After the past couple of years working with Rob in Polka and Volt, I JUST realized I had never left a review! I had been looking to have a Trash Polka piece for many years but had very little luck finding an artist that wasn't insanely far from home. I ended up finding Rob and his shop was only 15 minutes from my house. I spoke with him and honestly, didn't really know what I wanted at first. I am not super artistic but gave some random ideas to Rob and he came up with the most beautiful piece! Rob is incredibly skilled and my tattoo has gone WAY beyond what I was expecting from the beginning. I love going in for a session and coming out feeling elated at how the sleeve is progressing. It is also a huge bonus that Rob is a great guy and we can chat about so many different things. I have had many tattoos in my life and some artists are cold, want only to do things their way or really dig into your skin. I never have to worry about anything at Polka and Volt. I have also seen Jasteen in the past for a calf piece and she absolutely nailed, was also super skilled and a sweet heart. I have never had any work done by Angela but she gets me laughing and has some of the most beautiful birds she has tattooed in the past. Ultimately, I cannot recommend Polka and Volt enough. Clean, great people and absolutely amazing work!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Jasteen at Polka and Volt. My favourite part was that my tattoo theme was Soundgarden (a garden of sound) and Rob (co-owner) graciously put on a Soundgarden playlist for me (without letting me know) which ended up playing many many songs that I loved. Jasteen is very talented in her style of tattooing and she really made my sound garden come to life. Her floral work is amazing to see the detail of happening in person. Thanks for everything!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic tattoo artist. I have had to wait since 2022 as the covid days which pushed him further back into scheduling. As well as him being fully booked/books closed, I am very glad I waited. Extremely talented artist, he helps you design e writhing in front of you exactly how you want it. Even if you don’t know exactly what you want, he has a great imagination on filling in the gaps. Will definitely go back for more.

Although I have quite a few tattoos already, she was very unassuming around the experience and aftercare, even providing a reccomended moisturizer! Her chair space was very welcoming and accommodating, adding another level of comfortability to the experience. Definitely reccomend and will be back. Thanks again Sarah!

Fantastic experience: I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this was the best experience that I have ever had in a tattoo shop EVER. Like there is no contest. From the second I started chatting with Sara through the whole appointment it was such a dream. Everyone is so nice, and getting to just chat with Rob and Angela too while I was getting my work done by Sara was so much fun. You can tell everyone here loves what they do and care about their customers a lot. Also the shop is just absurdly clean which is so nice and it's so open that I don't feel claustrophobic at all despite that it isn't a huge space. Lemme just talk about Sara for a sec. She is one of the nicest and most fun artists I have worked with before. It was so nice just chatting about books and video games and life stuff with her while she worked. She was also super accommodating when I needed breaks and with the booking process in general. I cannot wait to come back for the second piece I booked

Fantastic experience: You walk in the door, and the artists could all be focused on tattooing but that never stops them from looking up, and taking the time to welcome you. If you are so lucky to have multiple sessions for different pieces, it is not hard to always feel at home when you return. Specifically, my wonderful artist was Robert. I am so grateful to have found an artist I jive with, can share many laughs with and can easily call a friend. His enthusiasm and creativity sets him apart. He completed a large Dolly Parton colour portrait on my right thigh and black/grey realism sleeve on my left arm. I highly recommend Robert as well as anyone else from Polka & Volt. ** shout out to Katlyn who does all correspondence and scheduling. She responds in a timely manner and is fantastic.

He has great ideas if you have an idea of what you want but have no idea how to tie it together like me! He's professional and very detail oriented but also laid back and always makes sure you're comfortable. If you want a sweet tattoo, check them out! Can't recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: I went to Lori Anne in the studio (@l.a.inks on Instagram), and she was wonderful! Personable and very polite, she was more than happy to hear out my ideas and offer genuine and helpful feedback. She was incredibly accommodating regarding my adhesives allergy, and provided alternate aftercare solutions. As someone who's fairly anxious, I felt very comfortable. The tattoo I received was absolutely gorgeous in the end. Truth be told, it turned out even better than I expected. The colours are stunning. I've gotten many many compliments so far. I hope to be back sooner rather than later.

Fantastic experience: I love the tattoo I got there, Garrett had such a cool plan and drawing based on what I explained. I have a lot of tattoos and this one was by far the most "gentle". What I mean by that is that my most of my other ones have been done with a wired machine and a heavy hand while this was much more delicate. It makes a big difference with thinner lines, so I really liked his tattooing style and it fit perfectly with what I got too.

Fantastic experience: I decided to get a tattoo the represents my son and the image associated with his name is bland (Olive Branch) so to spice up the design I wanted to do Trash Polka. Not something done by man artists. I found Robert through some searches and he does some great TP work. Met with him to do a consultation and was Booked with them and had a pretty long wait (which is a good thing as they are in high demand). I was very lucky as a cancelation happened and I jumped up by several months to an earlier date. Just went in to get some finishing touches done up and I couldn't be happier. Robert was great to work with and collaborates with you to make sure you get a great looking piece. Everyone in the shop is friendly AF and spoke about how much they loved the design I got (which makes you feel good about it). If I ever get more ink I'd head back here in a heartbeat. 10 out of 10...no notes.

Fantastic experience: Based on a colleague’s recommendation I went to Polka & Volt for my first tattoo, a portrait of my grandson (1 year old) and it was a GREAT experience. The artist, Rob (Polka) , was exceptional in spending time with me to discuss all aspects of the tattoo such as where will it be, tattoo size, colour or B&W, and armed with over 50 photos of my grandson, we chose the best one for the tattoo. Ron explained why the photos he recommended as a tattoo candidate were perfect for a tattoo and he was very detailed in his choices. There was no pressure or rushing and Rob provided me with all pros and cons of each candidate; I had the final decision. Execution was a great experience. The studio was welcoming and the mood was relaxed with banter and humour among the artists. The Studio was spotless in all aspects and all precautions were taken as the tattooing was being executed to ensure a sterile environment. Rob also took the time to explain how to care for the tattoo and a month later I returned so Rob could ensure all was well and do any touch-ups. I appreciated this visit as it showed Polka & Volt wanted to ensure the tattoo was the best it could be and that I was satisfied. I will also give a shout-out to Katlyn who manages appointments, answers questions, looks after the many details and keeps things running smoothly . The result was a beautiful portrait which has received countless complements. My grandson recognizes himself and pats the tattoo when he sees it. For my first tattoo, I was more than pleased with the result. I highly recommend Polka & Volt and I will return. I encourage you to visit, I cannot say enough good things about Polka & Volt. I must add the other artists are also highly skilled as seen in their work. It's a busy studio so book soon.

Fantastic experience: Angela has done all of my tattoos. I personally have 9 tattoos. Each of my tattoos, having important meaning to me. All of them are very colourful, and very detailed. Angela is a true professional, and such a skillfully, talented tattooist. She is also a wonderfully gifted artist, who genuinely cares about the art. I speak from experience. More than once, I have come to Angela with an idea, and she has taken the idea and created the most amazing piece; that I am both excited for, and proud to wear. Maybe most importantly; Angela is kind, friendly, and from the moment you meet her, you’ll feel more like a friend than a client. I completely trust her. Thank you Angela.

Fantastic experience: Super highly recommend this shop, as well as the artist i had ! This was my first time going here, and I noticed right away how super clean and organized the studio was. I had Jasteen as my artist. She was super friendly from the moment i walked in the door, and made me feel welcome. She has great communication, listened/worked with me to make sure I was going to be happy/satisfied with the tattoo design. I met one of the owners and he also was super nice. He respectfully gave a great suggestion to Jasteen and I regarding my tattoo. I really like how he was positive and that he did that. It shows that he really truly cares for his artists, and wants to help them grow artistically, he also complemented her work on my tattoo afterwards. Jasteen absolutely did a super amazing job, and really grasped what I wanted. I am super happy and thankful with her work and really love the tattoo. The half Filipino sun with the Canadian leaf raising out of it, with the stars around it turned out incredible the colour mixtures she did is unreal! I am glad Jasteen was recommend to me, and that I got to support another Filipino. Whenever I decide to get my next tattoo, I will gladly book with Jasteen and go back to this shop. Salamat Jasteen :)
