Fantastic experience: Josh Lee is an amazing artist who has revived my love for tattoos! He created a work of art beyond my expectations for the partial half sleeve I wanted to cover up an old, faded tattoo. His use of colour and shading is perfect and eye catching. Every time I see it, I smile from ear to ear and it brings me so much joy. I have had so many compliments on it. Josh and the team at Modern Addiction are top notch, professional artist who take great care of their clients in a clean and safe space. I can't wait to get back in to see Josh as I am so happy with his work. I am already planning my 2nd, 3rd and 4th tattoos!

The atmosphere is great when you walk in and the individual rooms is a really nice touch and great intimate tattoo experience. Looking around the shop, there were talented artists all over. I had Nicola (aka Cola the Rockstar) and she was absolutely amazing! She brought my vision to reality beautifully and with such a gentle touch (well as gentle as a tattoo can be). Also as a dog lover myself, i love that they have adoption posters in the lobby. I just got my horse shoe tattoo done yesterday for my birthday and its a dream come true. I've had this idea in mind for about 6 years and to have Nicola bring it to life has been amazing. Fantastic experience: Every single staff member in the shop is amazing. They all carry a very warm and friendly attitude and are all just genuinely good people. Through consultation and execution, I have had exceptional experiences working with Lucie, and believe that every artist at the shop is exceptionally skilled - no matter what style you’re going for, someone will be able to do the tattoos you might want. The shop is filled with beautiful art and lots of laughs. Can’t recommend it enough!!

Fantastic experience: I started late in life with tattoos, 53 years old, and my first one was a loving tribute to my sister who passed away. I have now come back for my second one, and may get more after this. I wanted to send a shout out to Erin, who did both of my tattoos, and did a phenomenal job. The tattoo parlour is beautiful and clean, and the people are lovely. And Erin is super talented, kind, patient, and I couldn’t love my tattoos more.

Positive experience: Have gotten 3 tattoos done by Josh now and they have all turned out great and exactly as wanted. Haven't had experiences with any other artists so can't say about them.

Fantastic experience: I've been to Modern Addiction Tattoos several times in the past year and the service is always exceptional. All the staff in the shop are friendly, and create a welcoming atmosphere. The shop is always very clean and is an ideal environment for getting tattooed. I have worked with Josh to finish a previously incomplete, new school piece on my calf and several Pokémon tattoos on my thigh. Josh is one of the most creative, well rounded, artists I've ever worked with and he is always willing to go the extra mile with his designs. Josh creates a welcoming, friendly, caring and safe place within his room and I look forward to having more work done by him in the near future.

Fantastic experience: Modern Addiction is where I got my first tattoo and where I almost always go for my next one. I’ve been chipping away at a patchwork sleeve of various different things from a wide variety of series and Josh Lee has been my guy for over a year and a half now. The staff here are super friendly, the work is consistent and heals well, and it’s just such a great time whenever I visit. Very much recommend!

Fantastic experience: I would give 10 stars if I could! Everyone I encountered at Modern Addictions is so friendly and inviting. My first tattoo with Nicola was an ankle piece she helped me design in honor of my Dad who passed away early days of covid lockdown. My idea was in my head, a mix of thoughts and emotions and Nicola patiently designed and captured exactly what I had envisioned. I went back recently for a fair size cover up of a thigh tattoo that I couldn't stand to look at, it was senseless, drab and poorly executed. I have no words to describe the spectacular cover up she designed for me. Zero hint of the old tattoo!! The precise execution of Nicolas work is nothing short of perfection. Both sessions were so relaxing. Nicola is an expert top of the line tattoo artist and I cannot recommend her enough... definately worth the wait for her books to open up! Thank you Nicola for the care and expertise you put into your work.

Fantastic experience: ABOVE AND BEYOND ! I have a decent collection of tattoos and I have had been to many shops around Canada but I have to say that Modern addiction has definitely become my new home shop ! I went to see Josh for a very specific vision I had for starting my legs I wanted heavy black saturation and bright pops of colour and WOW. He nailed it ! I left with 6 amazing pieces that I am so beyond obsessed with ! Josh was so patient and passionate about really making vision happen. It was a joy to work with him. I felt so comfortable in the studio and they are so welcoming ! I also had a really amazing fine line black and grey piece done from Ashli …. What a good time ! Ashli is so fun and welcoming , she gave me a stunning calf piece and started my leg tattoo obsession! She had no issue helping me find the exact piece and made sure I was comfortable the whole time ! I will definitely be returning This shop definitely has an artist for everyone’s needs and aesthetic ! Thank you Josh and Modern for everything !

Fantastic experience: Where do we start? After googling best tattoo artists I came across Nicola’s Instagram. I got a full sleeve designed by Nicola around my family. Once my husband saw it he had to get something designed by her. She designed a Marvel baseball themed half sleeve for him. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. She is so talented. Brent and Melissa

Fantastic experience: I initially visited Nicola as a newcomer about 6 years ago looking to get my first tattoo, she took the time to draw and create an absolute masterpiece! She is very meticulous with each piece taking the time with the line work and thorough shading. Very clean studio space, equipment and no issues with healing when I followed her aftercare instructions! Side note: I got black and grey realism & floral pieces!

Fantastic experience: What a great experience over at Modern Addiction Tattoos. Got mine done by Josh. Very happy with the results. Josh is a great dude and nerdy at heart just like me so it was a perfect pairing. Josh took my idea and made it come to life! I got a cover up of an old tattoo and honestly I couldn't be happier. I got a Darth Vader tattoo with some Roses and turned out great. I can't see the old tat at all! Josh has a gentle hand and made the whole experience awesome. Nice size shop and super friendly office staff. I'd recommend heading over to their shop and check out the artists work or check them on insta. They specialize in all kinds of stuff and also run flash sales all the time. Pricing is on par for a high end shop like this one! I wouldn't hesitate to get another tat from Josh, in fact I've already got the next one lined up!

Fantastic experience: A dragon tattoo has been on my bucket list for years… with all the life changes after a divorce, I finally felt like it was time to do something for me! Josh was freaking amazing!! I gave him a few ideas of the image in my head and made it exactly how I envisioned but BETTER! A reminder to myself “Life is tough, my darling, but so are you.” Josh, you rock, thanks for the great conversations and the amazing art. I absolutely love it.

Negative experience: Today is Saturday January 11th and me and my mother had a matching tattoo we wanted. I was told you pay hourly but was charged an outrageous amount and told afterwards they decided to charge us per tattoo. This was extremely upsetting because the tattoos are extremely small. The total cost was $508.50 for 2 very small tattoos smaller than 2 inches by 1 inch. After I got home I noticed the black lines aren’t connecting one one spot witch is extremely disappointing seeing the outrageous price. I would have liked to leave on good terms but the price is insane.

Negative experience: I came in as a walk in appointment with my friend just over a year ago and we showed them an inspiration photo and they said it was no problem to do it. We emphasized that we wanted it fine line (it was a matching tattoo). Pricing wasn’t discussed with us prior either. After getting the tattoos we found out it was $180 each and it is the worst tattoo either of us has ever gotten. I attached the reference photo vs how they actually came out. Sad to say this is on our bodies forever

Fantastic experience: Nice clean tattoo shop, tons of appealing artwork all around. My personal experience is with Nicola for ink. Would absolutely recommend her for any BG realism work you would like to have done and it comes with outstanding workmanship. I have sat with her for 40+ hours with reworking old tattoos and many new pieces covering large sections of my body. If you can manage to get an appointment do not miss the opportunity you will not regret it!

Fantastic experience: * scheduling went very smoothly and accommodated my restrictions * I received a sample the week before the tattoo which wasn't quite right and after some feedback I got the design that surpassed my expectations * Before/after care rules were definitely worth following as they helped speed the recovery - note that perhaps there should be mention of reduced activity for the few days following the tattoo in addition to not going I to swimming pools or into the sun (I think this helped my recovery this time around) * I'm in love with my tattoo!

I was feeling unusually anxious about it all, and everyone's kindness brought ease to my worried heart ❤️ i brought a painting and some insp pics for an original tattoo, and it turned out absolutely perfect, from drawing to tattoo. Dan is amazing! thank you to all of the staff for another great tattoo experience. Now that I'm in Guelph this will be my spot!!! Fantastic experience: I met Jen (owner) while getting my nails done one day and knew I needed to visit her shop! Booking an appointment was super easy. Filled out the little questionnaire that I was emailed, and got ‘matched’ with Lucie. I felt super welcomed from the moment I walked in the door. Lucie was fantastic and kept checking in to see how I was doing through the entire process. Her and I chatted and even after my tattoo was complete I didn’t feel rushed out. Lucie told me once healed if I wanted to add anything or get anything touched up to email her and I will if I feel like I need to do so Will be back 100% ! (Pic is the one Lucie took right after)

I usually do not write Google Reviews but in this case I was inclined as I wanted to share my experience with her and the studio in general. I note that this was my first tattoo, so I was a bit nervous. From the consultation to the time I had my tattoo completed, Jay was there to answer any questions and concerns that I had. She was very professional and also very nice. I was nervous when I attended my appointment but Jay guided me through the procedure and it could have not gone better. My tattoo healed within a week and I did not have any scabbing. Jay, you are a rock star! Thank you for being so amazing and professional.

Negative experience: I received a tattoo here several months ago that scarred quite significantly. This tattoo healed very poorly and scabbed like you wouldn't believe. I thought at first that this was my own fault, that my aftercare was poor, however I have quite a few tattoos from many different artists (including artists that are also pretty heavy handed) that have never scarred even a bit. There is also some blowout. After talking to some others who have received tattoos from this artist, I realize this is a common issue with their work. The work here is affordable, but you get what you pay for. 1 extra star as I was offered a touchup by the shop but I do not trust this artist to do that. I have had other artists look at this tattoo and confirm it was done poorly and offer a free touchup due to how scarred it is, so proceed with caution.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of getting tattooed here by Erin. She had such a warming presence as soon as she sat down. Erin was so excited to work with my revision to one of her flash pieces, and made sure I was happy every step of the way. Her lovely personality eased my nerves and made the process so much fun. The shop has a cool, laid back vibe, and I liked that there is art almost everywhere you look! I will definitely be returning to Erin for more work in the future.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place. Very clean, professional and welcoming. Got my first tattoo done here by Nicola today. She answered all my questions and was very patient with me through out the session and made me feel comfortable since I was anxious about getting my first tattoo. I will definitely be returning!! Thanks again P.S. love the plants and the decor, makes the atmosphere so cool!

Fantastic experience: Simply amazing! I was nervous going in but that soon disappeared after speaking with the owner, Jen, who was super positive about my tattoo and artist. Once on the table, Nicola made sure I was comfortable, happy, relaxed and liked the sketch she drew up for my arm. 7 hours later, I was amazed by the awesome work that she had done. My dad's tribute tattoo couldn't have been any more beautiful than what it turned out to be. If I could give 10 stars it still wouldn't be enough! If you are looking for a professional,clean, friendly tattoo shop, look no further than Modern Addiction. It's worth the drive to Guelph.
