Experiencia negativa: DO NOT go here for piercings. I came here to see the piercer who was working here in September. she had gave me a navel piercing which costed me $150. I thought I was going to get a good piercing because of the price. All the other shops I called charged way less and I only chose this one because it was the only one open at the time of night. Long story short, she had pierced my belly button and almost a year later the piercing still hasn’t healed, infected, even after using antibiotics and saline spray, and cleaning it with soap and water daily and the skin on the belly button piercing was really thin and about to rip out. The jewelry used was a really long bar, it just didn’t look right at all. I had went back because I was concerned that my piercing was going to rip through my skin and the owner at Dzul had no sympathy. As long as they got their money they will not care if they screw you over. I asked for a reimbursement and they said there was nothing they could do. Not even a re-pierce or nothing. all he had to say was that I didn’t have the right “anatomy” for the piercing, which is LIES! Your piercing just pierced it completely in the wrong spot BY THE WAY, and if I did I don’t understand why they didn’t just tell me me that I didn’t have the right anatomy for it a year ago when I got the piecing, it would’ve saved my stomach from really big scar/keloid. But like I said they just care about the money the make. Do not go here for piercings! And not only that they charge out the roof prices for tattoos it’s insane. If you’re going to overcharge your customers at least have a solution for them when you mess up…

Pricing was explained upfront, I knew exactly what I was paying for & that there was slight up charge for different jewlery. The studio is immaculate and as we were there just before they closed up shop, I actually was there to witness nightly clean-up and they were meticulous. Overall we could not have asked for a better experience!

Experiencia negativa: I’m leaving this review mainly for clarity for future clients, especially first-timers. Prior to my appointment, I was told pricing would be around $200–300 depending on design and time. I ended up paying $700 total between a deposit, a card charge, and cash for three finger tattoos. It was not clearly explained beforehand that the pricing was per tattoo rather than an overall estimate, which was confusing given the size and placement (these were finger tattoos, not a hand piece or larger work). The tattoos themselves are fine, but the process felt very confusing. There was also a misunderstanding regarding a cash payment that was initially assumed to be a tip, which added to the confusion. This was eventually corrected and refunded after I followed up, and I did receive receipts. Everything was ultimately resolved, but clearer communication around pricing and payment would have made this a much better experience. I recommend confirming total cost, per-tattoo pricing, and payment handling in writing before starting.

Experiencia negativa: If I could rate zero stars I would. Though they do decent work, their pricing is not transparent, and not at all in line with other tattoo artists in Seattle. I’ve got almost 30 tattoos. My last one a week ago with one of Seattle’s most popular artists, 6” in color cost me $700 after a hefty tip. A friend got a 3” black ink piece here, and they charged her almost $1500 for it. When she acted surprised, they threatened to call the police. I don’t know if they thought she was a tourist or what, but they royally messed with her. I had considered getting inked here, even was the one who recommended it to my friend. Hearing this kind of story makes me vow to stay clear, and hope I can save others from the same experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Had a Flash tattoo done by them at The Modern open house event and it was amazing! The check in process was smooth, the area was clean, and the artist was quick. I paid $150 for a flash tattoo and I couldn’t be happier with it. My wife and her friend also got flags tattoos and it was a gray experience all around. I would definitely recommend them!

Alejandro worked very closely with me to ensure that the tattoo was exactly what I wanted and Jacob did the actual work. This tattoo exceeded my expectations, and the atmosphere made for an amazing experience!

I’ve been following them and their work for years now and I knew when it was time for my ink this is where I wanted to go. The lounge is a Vibe and the skills are unmatched. If you want quality work and great service Dzul is where you want to go. I’m very picky with everything, especially something that will be on my body forever, so I knew these guys would take care of my husband and I. I don’t remember her name but the lady that help me finalize my designs was so patient and hadTrue understanding of what I wanted to accomplish and Alejandro executed my finish exactly like I wanted. I even got some previous ink touched up and had a fairly new piercing changed that was bothering me. The knowledge and skillset of everyone we encountered here is definitely worth any expense they charge. Value+result=well worth every penny! I was very lucky to talk to Tommy, who helped me put my design together. I was also put with Alejandro, the owner of the shop. Alejandro is one one the best. He has a very soft touch, and he is fun to conversate with. I want him to do the rest of my tatts but I live in another state. I am very pleased with the work.

Experiencia negativa: While I can’t speak about their tattooing, I did recently buy some body jewelry here. When going to a piercing shop, I ASSUME it’s going to be decent quality. Not only did it seem way more expensive than I’m used to, but my belly button jewelry that I paid nearly $30 for— tarnished in less than a month. I would expect this from Spencer’s or Hot Topic, but not a tattoo piercing studio. Besides that, the employee who helped me was very kind:)

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve gotten tattoos in many studios across the US and this is BY FAR the most professional studio I’ve been in. From the detailed website to the consult/art review/ink session everyone paid close attention to what I’m looking for and adjusted as needed. These guys are definitely the best at coverups and white on black, using elite techniques and products. Alejandro is super talented in specialized techniques. The chair was mega comfortable (don’t underestimate the importance of that when sitting for hours!) and Alejandro kept me informed and checked in throughout the process to ensure I was happy. They even sent me off with an aftercare kit. These people are true artists so if you want something beyond flash go here. You might get a shock at the quote but just know, you’ll be paying for talented artistic investment and high skill level. Highly recommend!!

My plan was to get a pine tree tattoo as a souvenir, but I wasn’t sure where to go. We saw Dzul on a tour map and happened to just come across it when we were walking around. It was a great experience! The staff is very friendly and helpful and my tattoo turned out great!

I met with Thomas and described my ideas and visions for the project, and he was super professional and kind to me throughout the entire process. They were willing to work around my budget and figure out the coverup situation in a way that made it easy for me to understand and budget financially. Thomas provided the best consultation experience I’ve ever had by far, he is a great communicator and runs the front end of the shop very well. On the day of my tattoo, I showed up excited for my big day, and I got VIP treatment being the only appointment that day. My artist was Alex who is legitimately one of the MOST KIND people I’ve ever met. I could tell he brings years of experience and passion with him in his shop, and I felt completely comfortable and at ease through the entire experience. We went for 4 hours with a few short breaks, and Alex was totally compassionate and professional the whole time. Seriously such a nice guy too. Alex is a tattoo legend. I am very happy with the work done and look forward to getting back in the shop for another piece eventually! You can trust this team with your very important sentimental pieces and know that they’re going to show up for you. Experiencia negativa: Nose piercings. Had them do it twice. When mine popped out over a yr later went to buy a new one. $50. Did not go in. Went back next day,. told her just wanted the cheapest smaller guage. Another $50 cause you cannot exchange. Got home same Guage size if not bigger than day before. Asked her since it was her fault get money back ot exchange. She said no.. would have to schedule an appt for ANOTHER $60 JUST to have piercer put it in for me!

My first tattoo—a giant octopus spanning my chest, shoulder, and back—always gets compliments and my experience over the 20+ hour session was positive as well. This visit was for something much simpler: a small song lyric on my wrist. But what really mattered to me was that my wife was getting two tattoos—only her second and third ever—after a less-than-ideal first experience elsewhere. This was my second tattoo ever, and the experience was amazing. I had a general idea of what I wanted but wasn’t sure about the font or placement. He took the time to try different stencils in the areas I was considering and was extremely patient with me. As someone who tends to be anxious, I truly appreciated the judgment-free and calming atmosphere. The tattoo I wanted was fine-line lettering of lyrics from Innerbloom by RÜFÜS DU SOL, and this was by far the best tattoo experience I’ve had. The quality, attention to detail, and overall experience make every penny worth it. For something that will be on my body forever, I couldn’t have asked for a better place. I’ll definitely be returning to Dzul for future tattoos!

Experiencia negativa: These guys are shady about money. I walked in to get a two-inch one-word matching tattoo with my daughter. We were quoted $250 total for the service. For similar tattoos in the past, I've paid no more than $100 but I figured okay they're marking us up $25 each for being walk-ins, no big deal. We ended up being charged $500 and when asked about it was told it was $250 for each tattoo, which had NOT been clearly stated at the outset. Not only is $250 an astronomical price for a piece that took 10 minutes, it was a total bait & switch with the cost. Super disappointing. The artist was sweet & did a fine job on the little stencil but the mark-up was insane. It's no way to do business.

She was great in making sure that the piercings were to be centered/even and not hit any cartilage, which I really appreciated. The piercings are healing wonderfully thanks to a job well done and proper aftercare advise provided. It was maybe a little pricey, but all in all, worth it.

Cata was knowledgeable, comforting, and we bonded immediately! She took the time to explain everything before, during, and after the piercing, making sure I knew exactly what to expect. She also recommended the best placement for my piercing while checking in with me to ensure I was happy with it. Loren was also amazing—she really inspired the type of nose ring I wanted and was super thorough in helping me pick the right one. I do wish they had a bigger selection of nose rings, but Loren’s insights helped me find something I love. A Few Extra Details: Pricing: Piercing service was $70, and the ring I chose was $85–$90. Their aftercare products (cleaning spray/ointment) range from $10–$30, and they have them available for purchase in-store. My total with tip came out to about $230. Walk-In Experience: I arrived Tuesday at 4 PM PT with no appointment and only had one person ahead of me, so the wait wasn’t bad at all. Clean & Professional: The shop was spotless, well-organized, and clearly run by a team that cares about their craft. Overall, this experience exceeded my expectations—the process was smooth, way less painful than I imagined, and my piercing looks perfect! If you’re considering getting a piercing, this is 100% the place to go. Cata and Loren are amazing, and I’ll definitely be back in the future!

Cat took me on a walk in even though her day was jam packed with appointments, and despite the time crunch she took her time with the process, informed me, and made me feel so relaxed and comfortable while getting my septum pierced. As someone with a small nose, I can say she got the piercing PERFECT without me even explaining what I wanted it to look like. She understands anatomy and explained everything in a way that I understood. Very informative and so so kind hearted. I will be returning for all of my future piercing/tattoo needs and recommend everyone else to do the same. I am so in love with this piercing - it was worth every penny. I can’t wait to return. The consult with Nicole was amazing, she listen to the what and why of my idea and came up with a perfect design. Alex brought it all to life in an incredibly detailed, artfully crafted tattoo. After doing extensive research on tattoo shops I came across Dzul Ink Lounge. I immediately knew it was the place for me. I went with Jacob and he nailed it! The entire staff was welcoming and gave the family environment from beginning to end. This needs to be your next tattoo shop you visit!!

Experiencia negativa: My idea for a tattoo was simple, but for what I paid, the design was not impressive. There were lots of flaws, and it's fine, I was in a hurry and tired of looking, so it's my fault for being a bit impulsive. I paid over $550 plus tax for a simple design, and my quote was for $700, but I was very clear that I am already over what I was planning to spend. I was unable to get a refund on my deposit without a charge of $150, which should be a red flag, but I just went with it. I asked one of the ladies who works behind the desk, they basically traced an image I'd given them, quickly, and when I asked them to remove something, they erased part of it but not all of it, as if I just wanted some robe to be cut off, when the fold could have easily been entirely erased. I just wanted the basic idea down, so that was not a huge concern. I do want to say, it is alarming how much they charged for such little amount of work. I was in the chair for 40 minutes. I am sure these artists are able to do intricate, realistic work, but it seems like they are not willing to spend a lot of time on design. I'm not mad, everyone was nice, but I have had better work done for almost half the price since then. Again, my more recent tattoo was just line work, and it was more consistent, with better design by far, for half the cost I'd paid here. This is a tattoo shop for people who are either naive or masochistic, as the artists try to keep a celebrity lifestyle about their work that is probably unwarranted, even if they do have as much experience as they say they do. Proceed with caution.

Experiencia fantástica: Alejandro ended up doing a touch up (left side) on a tattoo I previously had from another artist (right side) … I found them through tiktok and was immediately impressed by their previous work… the more I went through their portfolios the more I knew I was ready to get my tattoo fixed, Alejandro took the time to sit and talk to me about the issues I had with my previous tattoo and understood I wanted to carry this with pride….he insured me he was able to help me with just that. After having two meetings we set a date to start and none the less I was so grateful for him and his team! The team was super professional and took the time to fix any and everything I wanted tweaked in his original mock up. I left leaving super honored and proud to be able to carry DZUL ink work on my arm. For however much longer I decide to live in the Seattle area, there will be no other shop that I will choose to go to other than Dzul. I had a cover up that was 9-10 years in the making, and with as important as this cover up was to me, I continue to be at a loss for words on how respectful and courteous the team at Dzul was throughout both of my sessions. I will be going back to Dzul whenever I am ready for my next tattoo, and I highly recommend you stop by for a visit and allow them the opportunity to bring your next tattoo piece to life.

Shop is clean and staff are friendly and helpful throughout the process of design and work. They even touched up the tattoo a month later (for free) because I wanted it a smidge darker than it healed up. If you're shopping around for tattoo or piercing, GO TO DZUL. Their shop is established and successful because of the quality of work they do.

Experiencia positiva: I saw this piercing and tattoo place walking a while back. I had a nose piercing unfortunately it came out and my piercing closed. I wanted to wait but figured I would plan to get it re pierced. The first time I went there the piercing person was not in. I figured would call today to see if I could come in and was told I could. When I first got there the ladies behind the desk told me it could be a while 2 hours before my piercing. I told them had no issues waiting. The lady who was doing my piercing actually told me she would pierce my nose first instead of waiting the hours which I appreciated! I had gotten it in the same spot I originally got it pierced so it was a bit painful and it bled alot but she took her time and cleaned the piercing out for me. Gave me water and a candy. She told me I could sit in the front for a while and relax on the couch and shed check it again to just be safe. She gave me a spray to clean the piercing with and tissues. The piercing was a bit more expensive than I anticipated but it came out amazing and was grateful she took her time to make sure the piercing was ok.

Experiencia negativa: My husband and I went in to get a realism tattoo for my husband’s 1st tattoo on this upper arm. This is NOT a joke they quoted him $12-15k. I contacted many other tattoo parlors/owners said this is absolutely crazy pricing… the photoshopped artwork was amazing. Glad I’m not as gullible as they thought my husband was… Bad Business!!!

The detail and consideration they put into the design was great, and so important to me since I was getting my tattoo as a tribute to my dog that had just passed. I knew I was in good hands from the beginning with their communication and thoughtfulness. The day of my tattoo appointment was even better. I was a little nervous since I haven’t had a tattoo in a while, but Alex put me at ease, and it was honestly very manageable. Can’t recommend them enough!

She was very gentle and a soothing presence (I hadn't had any piercings for almost 10 years so I was nervous about the pain). She did a great job making sure the piercing location looked good to me and had me check in the mirror prior to piercing so I could confirm the location. She explained aftercare and ensured I had everything I needed to take care of my piercing. I'd highly recommend her!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been looking for a tattoo artist/studio to help me craft a coverup design for my first tattoo. My style leans more realism so I was looking for someone with skill in details, and I fell in love with the work of Alex & Jacob from their Instagram accounts. My fiancé and I decided to check them out for our matching tattoo of our two dogs, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. We called and planned a design session to start, which helped calm my nerves with an art review over zoom before we came in and had our tattoos done simultaneously. Alex did an amazing job with my fiancé on his first tattoo & Jacob did a phenomenal job with my smaller version. I even added on an additional little tattoo because I was having such a great experience. We left the seats incredibly pleased and already have our next tattoo sessions planned After two iffy tattoo experiences at other places, Dzul Ink Lounge provided everything I was hoping for - design help for a custom look, modern technology to make the final product stunning & excellent skill by the tattoo artists. Experiencia negativa: Staff was friendly and place was nice. Artist was pretty good but also slow. Rates are far too high, they will give you a range and you should just plan for paying at the top of that range. You can find many better artists for cheaper. EDIT: I feel like I should be more clear about my experience here and why I'm giving two stars. The place is nice. It is a premium experience. The staff is friendly and the artists and designers are clearly skilled. I agreed to the price and can't argue with what I paid. The artists was slow, but the tattoo itself is very good. So why only two stars? I'm not complaining about the price just to be salty. This review is for anyone looking for tattoo artists, Dzul is not worth the price. I figured that a premium tattoo would cost a premium price, so I agreed not knowing because it was my first tattoo. I should have done more research, and after having worked with other artists I have found that this kind of premium experience is not worth the price Dzul charges anywhere on earth. Seattle has many talented artists, who are great people and provide amazing experiences. I would say I have preferred my experiences at other places, but this is a personal preference. However, they charge not even close to the price Dzul charges. I'm talking multiple grand difference in price, for the same skill level. So for anyone looking at this, please do more research on local artists. They are great, still provide premium experiences and deserve your support. I paid $800 for a custom tattoo from with more ink versus the over $3000 I paid for my tattoo from Dzul. Whenever I tell literally anyone, from regular people to experienced artists, they are flabbergasted at what I paid, and it's frankly embarrassing that I agreed to the price thinking that I needed to pay that much for quality. You can get that same quality at other places in and around Seattle without getting ripped off. Please support other artists and don't go to Dzul, they deserve your support more.

He was also very patient and over all - just chill. The atmosphere is great ; they have a TV you can watch stuff on if you want! The session went by so fast of how comfortable I felt. The place is incredibly clean , it feels welcoming and everyone takes precautions to be as clean as possible. Jacob did my first tattoo he was really incredibly patient and detailed. I'm so glad I came here for my first tattoo it was a great decision. During the tattoo process the staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. Jacob was so good he would always ask me how I was doing and helping me to get distracted of the pain since it was my first time. When the final session was done, I was speechless with the results. Experiencia positiva: Wife and I were visiting Seattle. Asked if they do walk-ins. Looked through their "flashes," and asked for 3-4 inch tattoo with simple line work and mild shading. Having over 20 tats, I'm thinking this cant take too long to do and it cant be too wild or detailed cuz again....walk in. I'm also well aware of paying an artist for their hard work. After asking the front desk for an estimate, I was blown away when they told me $900 for just lines and $1500 w/ shading. Now don't get me wrong, I get the artist has to eat, but $900-$1500 for a walk-in is crazy. Off a walk-in???!

Update: Despite their response claiming I never had a consultation, I did, in fact have a full consultation in 2023 with a woman who put all my image references in a file, talked to me about possible designs and quoted me prices...very high prices.

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to Dzul Ink by a friend from work. After looking at the artwork on their website I knew that I wanted Alex to do my dark romance book tattoo. I didn’t have a picture of what I wanted I only new what elements I wanted in the tattoo and the placement. When I had my first art workup sit down, I was blown away by what they came up with. They were great at offering changes to the design so it would accentuate the part of my body it was going on. They were never pushy or uncooperative when I suggested changes or tweaks to the design. During the tattoo process the staff went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. Alex was great he would always ask how I was doing and if I needed a break. When the final session was done, I was speechless with the result. I love every bit of it!! Alex truly captured the dark theme that I wanted and really made the elements come alive. I am already talking to him about my next tattoo. I would highly recommend getting your next/first tattoo with them. You will not be disappointed!

Experiencia negativa: I got a nose piercing at this shop a few months before the pandemic began and had a memorably unpleasant experience. After having 4+ piercings in the past, this is the only place where the piercer (a woman, possible French or Spanish accent?) was rude to me and bad at her job. She had trouble getting the jewelry in several times, blaming the shape of my nose (I have a normal nose, never broken, no issues whatsoever) and trying to force it in. The whole experience was extremely painful and I ended up with blood running down my face. Again, never had an experience like this when getting my lip or septum done in the past. The piercing fell out a few days later, too. I wish I had written my review then, but chose not to pursue it because I didn't have the confidence to advocate for myself at the time. Hopefully their staff doesn't blame their ineptitude on the client anymore, but I'm not optimistic. Notice that they rarely reply or apologize to negative reviews. It says a lot about their character.

The shop's design team was creative, courteous, and communicated really well. Alex made me feel relaxed and comfortable while completing the tattoo, though it had been at least a decade since my last one. Everything was very clean and my healing was a breeze. The only thing keeping this from a 5-star is that I ended up having to wait nearly an hour past my appointment time as the artist was running very late, and wish I could have gotten that time back, but otherwise, this is a phenomenal studio and a talented team. When the tattoo gods tell me what my next tattoo should be, I'll head on back to Dzul!

Athena and Alejandro were patient, accommodating and attentive to my vision and needs during my tattoo consultations and tattooing experience. I was impressed by their customer service, and appreciate them making me so comfortable.

Experiencia negativa: Haven't gone here or gotten a piercing here but I AM an ex piercer and, them charging $100 for one nostril piercing is absolute extortion. I usually an pretty polite but I cackled over the phone when they said "$100 for one nostril". I don't care if they're all surgeons with PhD's, that price is an absolute SCAM. Piercing gate needs to be added to tattoo gate. This is almost as ridiculous as that girl who charged thousands for a tattoo consultation and then plagiarized the finished product.. everywhere else it's $35-$50, which is normal, I'd have even been willing to go to $60-$70. Many places try to sell themselves as "better than everyone and that's why we're expensive" when they're just scammers. Boycott pretentious tattoo&piercing shops like this. They're just gentrifiers. There's only one way to pierce. Needle through skin. It's not rocket science. Love- an ex piercer with 13yrs under my belt. Edit: if a majority of the reviews are split between 1&5, it just goes to show that those 5* reviews were paid for. The *1 reviews told me exactly what I thought. I'm glad their prices pushed me away before I made the mistake of booking here.
