Experiencia negativa: Scheduled an appointment online, got the confirmation and the reminder, showed up only to have the shop closed. Just received a call from shop owner only to have them question the review I left. They informed me that they had an emergency and was going to come back. I told them I understood and they then asked “why didn’t you call when you got to my shop?” I do not feel it was my responsibility to call if they are not there. If I was not going to show up then it would have been my responsibility, but it should have been the shop to call me and let me know they needed to reschedule. They were able to call me now and ask about the review but not last night. It was a very unprofessional phone call.

Experiencia fantástica: 2026 UPDATE! My wife and I went back to Tattoo Shanky (and brought our friends this time ) while we were in town for a concert. Shanky was able to give me two new tattoos and touch-up the tattoo he did in 2025. As expected - it was a very fun, clean, precise experience! Shanky's work is impeccable. This will definitely be an new traditional for us, every time we're in Seattle. Fun, quick, and most importantly, incredible art. I will definitely go to Shanky again next time I'm in Seattle.

Experiencia fantástica: Messaged Tattoo Shanky on IG for a quote and what I wanted to get done and came in to get a tattoo of Toothless from HTTYD on my rib cage. This was my first tattoo so I was verryyyyy nervous but he showed me a couple size options and was able to advise me on what would look best/heal the best for sizing and then started. He worked off of my inspo pic and made it look exactly like it and then added a bunch of shading to make it more realistic. I heard l stories about the ribs being painful but honestly I didn’t really feel the pain and Shanky said it was because of using a lighter hand. He did the tattoo very efficiently, I believe I was done within 30 minutes for what I believe is a 3” by 2” tattoo of a dragon and it came out just like I wanted. Would definitely come again for my next tattoo :)

Experiencia fantástica: May 2024: Just visited Seattle with some friends for the weekend and decided on a whim to get tattoos. This shop is clean, everyone was friendly and the 3 of us were in and out within 2hours from deciding exactly what we wanted and having them done. Wonderful experience and highly recommend! Would totally go back if we find ourselves wanting another tattoo during a trip to Seattle. August 2025: Visiting with a friend for the weekend to see Teddy Swims and had to go see Shanky for another tattoo. Such a great atmosphere, we had lots of laughs and ended up having the shop to ourselves. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to visit again in the future.

We didn’t have an appointment but there was only one other person getting a tattoo before us so we only had to wait about 20 minutes. My daughter went first and Shanky made the process so easy and fast, she didn’t cry or anything. My sister and I ended up getting our sibling tattoos and we each got an additional $30 tattoo. We were walk ins and he got us in super quick, super friendly and helped us all pick the placement we wanted. The studio is very clean and has a great atmosphere! Experiencia negativa: My best friend and I were in Seattle this past weekend and we wanted to get last-minute tattoos. We were really excited when we came across this shop because they allow walk-ins and a majority of the reviews are great. However, our experience there was unpleasant. I picked a tattoo design from the table he has full of outlines, and when it was my turn I showed him exactly where I wanted it placed on my arm. I was pretty nervous and when he asked me “left or right?” I wasn’t sure what he was referring to. He made a joke about how many drinks I had that day (he made this joke several times). He then made me stand in front of him facing my friend and our partners who were sitting down and then proceeded to grab my arms and shook them as he kept repeating “left or right?” I then understood he was referring to what arm I wanted the tattoo on, even though I had just told him. I started to feel weird about him grabbing my arms that way, but I didn’t want to make a big deal. My partner later told me that the artist had winked at them when he was doing this. He then asked where I wanted it placed - the back of my arm or the side (again, I had already told him where I wanted it). I told him the back of my arm. He then transferred the outline on my arm and told me to take a look at it. I realized it was more to one side than I would have liked, so I let him know. He seemed very irritated that I didn’t like the placement and rudely told me that where I wanted the tattoo was the side of my arm not the back. At this point, I became even more uncomfortable with how he was talking to me and how he had kept making jokes about “me drinking.” My friend and I decided that we did not want the tattoos anymore because of his poor customer service. He had treated the previous customers completely different, so I’m not really sure why he started acting so rude. We were the only customers in there when it was our turn, so maybe that made him feel more comfortable to show his true self.

I plan on booking a larger piece with him in the future. Highly recommend! (Side note, don’t be fooled by the non-descript tattoo shop a couple storefronts down, it’s not the same. Ask for Shanky directly!)

Experiencia fantástica: This shop is an 11/10. I want to pick them up and bring them back to Western NY with me. Both artists were so friendly and accommodating- offered drinks and food as soon as we walked In. Great communication on same day walk in and $30…. Yes 30….. flash tattoos. Great vibe and amazing story. He even touched up my girlfriend’s tattoo that was too thick that she got in FL over a year ago at no charge. Wishing continued success to this amazing spot.

Experiencia fantástica: I am genuinely taken back by how fast and easy this piercing experience was. Went here to get a septum for my boyfriend. Usually piercing take an hour, there’s additional fees, wait time. But this guy, I literally walked in no appointment he did it in 20 minutes gave us ice cream and water and advice on what to do with my infected eyebrow. I was not expecting it to be so good, I am coming back.

Experiencia fantástica: Walked in and right away he was working with me about what I wanted and made all adjustments perfectly. He took my crazy idea and made it fit with other tattoos i had and the finished product looks amazing! This tattoo was of a cute little kitty cat holding a flower, I wanted it on my ribs and I couldnt feel it at all. Other tattoos I have were very painful while this one was done timely and very well. This is by far the best tattoo artist I've had. Get all your crazy tattoos here!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I was in Seattle on vacation for a show and suddenly got the itch for an impulse tattoo. The first shop I saw was closed, but not even two seconds later, I spotted Shanky’s shop. They didn’t open until noon and it was only 11:30, so I grabbed some lunch and came back right when they opened. When I showed Shanky my idea, I originally wanted it on my hand. But instead of just taking the job, he took the time to explain why that placement would need constant touch-ups and really wasn’t worth it. That honesty showed me he truly cares about the craft and the art—not just making a quick buck. The tattoo came out exactly how I envisioned it. The linework was clean, crisp, and absolutely 10/10. I walked in on a whim, but now I’m seriously considering flying back just to get more pieces done by him. Experiencia fantástica: Just got my first ever tattoo with Shanky and I cannot express enough how amazing he was. He warned me that filling in the black might be a little painful but I barely felt a thing. And the line work is flawless. Exactly what I wanted and one of the nicest people I’ve met in Seattle!
