Experiencia negativa: I got a tattoo by Zezi about a year ago and still regret choosing her. She will charge you money for every second you are in her "presence". I arrived early to the appointment and was told to wait downstairs (she was in a meeting). I was not called back in until the time of the appointment. She didn't quite seem ready. We ended around 3:10 and then spent the next 15-20 minutes of her trying to take photos of the tattoo. WHICH SHE CHARGED ME FOR at around $450 an hour she charged me $100+ to take photos for HERSELF and making me wait (charging me more money) because my skin turned red. There was no aftercare information given except a link on information. No care kit or paper like I heard most tattoo artists give. For the price that I was charged $1900 for a 3.25 hour tattoo it was not worth it. She then also rounded up the time a few minutes just to charge me more money. I recommend going somewhere else lot of great artists that don't just try to take your money, I wish I had.

Experiencia fantástica: I made an appointment a few weeks ago with this studio not knowing what to expect. I came in having a large, fairly complicated design I wanted of a lionfish. It took two separate sessions (because of the extreme detail and size) but Zezi handled it like the pro she is. She is gentle, kind, professional and an extremely good artist. This is not my first large scale tattoo but I will be going back to her for another round because she is that good. Trust her process. She knows what she is doing.

Experiencia fantástica: I had my first tattoo when I was 18. On my butt…and I almost passed out I remember I was so anxious and it hurt so bad. Fast forward to getting my 2nd tattoo to honor my mom who recently passed away. I’m 44 and I was so scared. This place was like some sort of quiet oasis overlooking the water. It was the exact place I was looking for getting a tattoo. And let me tell you…it did not hurt! And I’m day 3 and it looks exactly how it did when I left. Beautiful thin lines just like I wanted. I’m so happy and will probably be back.

It was my mom and I’s first time getting a tattoo, and she was so thorough with the whole process, from consulting about the tattoo design (she was so patient with us, bless her) to making sure we were satisfied with everything on the day of. Her attention to detail was everything, and both my mom and I’s tattoo came out so so beautiful. I was nervous but she was very kind and understanding (tysm). The view was also beautiful, and the place was also very clean and nice. Leila is a fr professional and we spent the whole way home talking about what a great experience we had. Experiencia fantástica: I'm so grateful to have gotten my first tattoo from Zezi. I spent a long time deciding which tattoo shop to go with and I'm relieved I went with Finer Things Tattoo. Prior to my actual appointment, Zezi was very responsive to the questions I asked in our email exchanges. While we were corresponding, I changed my idea and wanted to include more in my tattoo and she still honored the original price she quoted me when it was originally going to be much smaller. On the day of my actual appointment, she welcomed me and thoroughly went through each step of the tattoo process. She worked with obvious care not only for the tattoo itself, but for my own comfort, and had a very focused work ethic. I'm so happy and relieved with the results. It was also a bonus getting to look at Lake Union from her shop. It was a very clean, simple, and calm environment. I especially appreciated how quiet it was and how open and bright her shop was. It helped me feel at ease. Wonderful experience!

Experiencia fantástica: I wanted a tattoo to honor my dad and was nervous cause it was my first one. Found a studio with a good rep and booked an appointment. The artist was amazing. He listened to my idea and drew something better than I imagined. He walked me through how the session would go and made sure I was good the whole time. It did hurt a bit in spots but nothing I couldn’t handle. The shop was clean and you could tell they followed all the safety stuff. Only thing I didn’t love was the music was kinda loud but it matched the vibe. The tattoo came out perfect and even better than the sketch. He gave me aftercare instructions and said I could text if I had questions. I already want another one and will go back to the same guy. If it’s your first or your tenth this place knows what they’re doing.

Experiencia negativa: I'm writing this review to share my experience getting two tattoos from Zezi. To start, Zezi is undeniably a talented artist, and I do like the aesthetic of the first tattoo I received from her. However, the overall experience was challenging and unlike any other I've had with a tattoo artist. My first appointment was in December. As this wasn't my first tattoo, I expected a collaborative discussion about the design and placement, especially since I had questions about the longevity of my desired location for the tree design I wanted. Unfortunately, Zezi seemed resistant to discussing the design and my questions, giving the impression of being inflexible and even becoming visibly frustrated. This lack of open communication was quite upsetting during what should be an exciting process. I did take a break during this appointment to re-set emotionally. Ultimately, we proceeded with my original tree idea, and I'm glad we did as I love the final piece. Despite the difficult interaction, I decided to book a second appointment in February because I genuinely admired Zezi's artistic style, hoping that knowing what to expect of her demeanor would help. This appointment, however, was largely a repeat of the first in terms of communication issues, and ultimately more problematic. I had requested a chamomile flower and provided inspiration images beforehand. Upon arrival, Zezi had designed a flower, but it wasn't chamomile. Despite my efforts to communicate what I was looking for and find common ground, working with Zezi on the design was very difficult. I essentially had to re-design the tattoo myself during the appointment to get it closer to what I had initially requested. Honestly, I regret getting this second tattoo done by Zezi; I have since had it reworked by another artist. Based on my experiences, it seems Zezi's process works best if you either give her complete artistic freedom or come with an extremely precise, non-negotiable design. She appears to be quite rigid and the collaborative design process I've experienced with other artists was absent. Beyond the design challenges, I also found the pricing structure confusing. Zezi states her pricing is clear and transparent, but I did not find this to be the case. Charging hourly for what felt like very short, rushed appointments was unexpected. For the chamomile tattoo, having to redesign during the appointment led to increased costs, even though the final design reflected my initial request. Additionally, there was a separate $200 "design fee" which I've never encountered before; typically, design work is included within the overall tattoo price. For contrast, I've since been getting tattooed at Fine Studio in Seattle, and the experience has been wonderful. They are highly collaborative, completely transparent about pricing, and allocate ample time for design discussion and adjustments. They foster an environment where you feel comfortable discussing your ideas and making changes without feeling like a burden. In summary, while Zezi is a skilled artist, be prepared for a potentially difficult and non-collaborative design process and ensure you fully understand the pricing breakdown beforehand. If you value open communication and collaboration in your tattoo experience, you might want to consider other artists. Edited June 2025: Zezi, I only asked for a refund for the design fee and additional time spent, not the base price, and only after you called me and asked me what you could do to make it better. It's also very difficult to raise a complaint during an appointment like this, especially after the experience I had with my first appointment, and as I said above. Writing back to negative reviews like this reads as very petty. Moving to one star for the customer service. Best of luck.

I just gave her a simple idea of what I wanted, not knowing exactly what I was looking for, just a tattoo that kind of embodies me. She was very thorough in the consultation, making sure I had everything I wanted implemented into it and helping make my idea come to life. Not to mention how clean and organized her workspace is, and the fact she made sure I was comfortable and doing good many times throughout. She made me very comfortable and confident getting it done with her. It was awesome! I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!! The lines are always so crisp and beautiful and she has such a light hand.
