The first shop ripped me off on a way overpriced daith ring, the second didn’t have a piercer or jewelry, the third shop had a terrible jewelry selection. When I walked in I was greeted immediately by Jacki. She showed me an incredible selection of earrings and had exactly what I was looking for. She didn’t even charge me to change out the earrings I was buying (like the first place I went to). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Jacki was as sweet as she could be! I will be going MM for all of my piercing and jewelry needs in the future ❤️❤️❤️

I had put it off for years after a bad experience at Claire's years ago that gave me an infection and a phobia of needles. My experience here was absolutely wonderful and I would definitely go back for my seconds. Jacki was my piercer, who I chose for her medical background, and she was AMAZING. She was super kind and professional and gave me plenty of time to sit and recover, and even chatted with my friend and me. She gave us a ton of information about aftercare and prepared us really well. Everything was super clean too. The person at the front desk was very nice as well and super patient. I definitely felt safe and cared about here and I would absolutely recommend this shop (and Jacki!) to anyone. I also loved all the options for earrings!

Experiencia fantástica: We stopped by Mythical Markings today because my daughter has been wanting a helix piercing. My daughter had been there before with a friend and she told me they were very nice. She was right! Jacki worked us right in, went above and beyond to explain the whole process, and made sure my daughter was comfortable. I would recommend getting a piercing here to anyone, especially a parent who has a child who may be a little nervous. We’ll definitely be going back.

Experiencia fantástica: Back in December 2024, I knew I wanted a tattoo and knew what I wanted, but needed an artist. I had seen Andrew Luce's work on IG and I knew I wanted him to perform the work. I walked into the shop, not knowing anything more than I wanted my tattoo. Andrew just happened to be the artist next in line. From the meeting, consultation and work; Andrew is amazing, friendly, and honest! His IG is @tattoosbyandrewluce. Everyone in this shop is very friendly, kind, communicative, basically like family. I'm very thankful I found this shop!

Experiencia fantástica: Had a session scheduled with my tattoo artist Andrew. Sadly, I had a rash starting where he was going to work appear. Instead of rescheduling, he took the time and came up with something else. I got this beautiful chest piece last minute. I told him I was not wearing a shirt under my hoodie, but was wearing a bra. He was very respectful, gave me something to cover up with and pasties just in case there was a slip. He is willing to give breaks when the pain becomes too much. Everyone is so nice and was hyping me up for this tattoo. By far the best shop I have been to.

She’s very knowledgeable and her sterile technique is top tier. The piercing didn’t hurt at all getting done. It hurts more now in the heels by process of that says anything! Experiencia fantástica: I went and got my septum pierced today! The receptionist hannah was SOOOO sweet, not to mention she was really funny. When i finally got in to get the piercing done (there was a line but it got through quick) jacki was SO sweet. She talks you through everything and even has a little panda plushie you can hold. She used to do surgery so you KNOW her hands are not shaky and she gets stuff right. when it was happening it didn’t really hurt at all and went through SUPER SMOOTH. Overall it was a 10/10 experience i had. I would recommend jacki to anyone who wants to get a piercing! She also was able to cut out some gauges i’ve had in for a year i didn’t want anymore free of charge. She is such a sweetheart. Amazing staff, amazing piercing, amazing place!

Experiencia positiva: The receptionist I spoke with on the phone was very kind, but when I arrived at the shop, I felt like I was bothering the person who was helping me. That made me really nervous, so I ended up calling a family member to help me choose a nose piercing, since I’m terrible at making decisions. I started second-guessing my choice and asked the staff member (who never introduced themselves) for advice, but they just told me to pick whatever I wanted—which wasn’t helpful at all. I panicked and chose a piercing that ended up looking way too big for my face, and now I really don’t like it. I also wasn’t given any information about how long the piercing needs to stay in, how long it takes to heal, or how to clean it. I’m not sure if I’d come back, or if I do, I’d probably ask to work with someone else.

Jackie does an amazing job and takes pride on what she does. She has a medical field background which made me feel safe and comfortable.Dani also did an incredible job on my mom sleeve tattoo which healed up beautifully. Jacki was so sweet and kind and talked to me during the process which made me feel very comfortable! She also walked me through the cleaning process and how to take care of my piercings as well, even provided a tiny sheet with information! I 100% recommend her as a piercer especially if it’s your first time! Also the receptionist was amazing too! She was super friendly and I loved her energy! I would definitely recommend coming here !

Grace, my piercer, was very sweet and professional. She made the process feel easy and comfortable. She really knows how to talk to her clients. The receptionist was also incredibly friendly. Experiencia fantástica: I made an appointment with Jacki after a poor experience at another location. I told her what piercings I wanted (vertical industrial and conch), and she was very welcoming and knowledgable! She took the time to check my ear anatomy, and had me wait to order the correct jewelry so that it would accommodate swelling. As she pierced my conch, she was bru accommodating, and it was virtually painless. She also made sure to point out other piercings I would be an anatomical fit for in the future. I’m excited to go back and get my industrial and rook done in a few weeks when the jewelry comes in!

Experiencia negativa: This place lies about doing custom tattoos. Wife paid a $100 deposit for a custom drawing only to find the exact drawings online. When the artist wouldn't / couldn't make the requested changes they did not give the deposit back.

Experiencia fantástica: This was such an amazing place. My sister got her first ear piercings and I got my forward helix. We were both pierced by Jacki and she was such a wonderful help with making both of us feel comfortable and made sure I had the correct anatomy for the piercing I wanted. Which was reassuring because I knew from then on that she knew what she was doing. Additionally, she was very responsive over DMs and was transparent with me about pricing, jewelry, etc. Love this place and if I’m ever in Knoxville again I will for sure make another visit here!

Experiencia fantástica: Went to get my septum re-pierced as it's been out for almost 3-4 years, so I thought it had closed. Danny checked before piercing and found out it wasn't closed at all! She got a lubed taper through it, no problem, and I had my septum back without piercing. I had her check my old nipple piercings, and it was the exact same thing. I got 3 of my piercings redone without any piercing, and I'm so glad she checked for me before adding another piercing in my nose. Best experience I've ever had

I told him a little bit about their history and my concept to transform their prints into dandelions. He listened and totally got what I was going for. I went in and got it done today, I couldn’t be happier. Jamie is not only an amazing artist but he tattoos effortlessly with the lightest hand. The shop is immaculate and has the best vibe. Grace at the desk was very accommodating and patient as we tweaked the design to get it just right, and she answered all of my questions (I had a lot) in such a friendly manner. Danny, my artist, did an amazing job on my tattoo and talking to me through the whole process -- we even ended up talking with the other artist in the room who was also incredibly friendly. I was very nervous when I walked in, but by the time Danny started I had no worries at all. Thank you to Danny and Grace and all of the staff for making my first tattoo such a pleasant experience.

Experiencia positiva: Piece would have taken 3 sessions and cost over $1000. Every other artist I've asked about it said it should have been a one-shot unless I tapped out, and no more than $600. Tattoo got infected (under the saniderm) the 2 times I was actually tattooed, costing me even more in medical bills; the artist said the scarring from the first session, which came about from massive lesions forming where he'd tattooed me, was places he'd intentionally left free of ink and did this whole, "No, honey, I did that on purpose," condescending thing when I mentioned he might have to go back over it (as if I wasn't there to see my leg swell up and have to get antibiotics to kill the horribly painful infection, or as if you can't feel the dips where the scars are). Walk-in clinics aren't cheap, and, in total, I spent close to $500 extra getting meds to fight the infections from this tattoo. The doctor at the clinic told me I was dumb to go back to the same artist, and I think she was right. Last appointment, I was told I'd have to pay a rebooking fee because I couldn't drop another $150+ on getting a doctor's note saying I was sick, even though I was told before the 48 hour period that the artist working on my tattoo wasn't in and they couldn't reschedule without him, and that it would be fine to reschedule once he was back in. Guy didn't listen to my placement idea at all and completely messed up the basic instructions I told him I wanted, then made me feel like I had to get the design he'd just traced over from existing images because he'd spent time drawing it. Slowest worker ever, and I didn't see him wash his hands after going out for a smoke (maybe that's why it got infected twice? Who knows. I'm no doctor). He also talked poorly of other artists in the area that I'm pretty friendly with, which was uncomfortable. But not as uncomfortable as having dude call me "baby" and "honey" and "sweetie" the whole time as he talked about his open, poly relationship. Overall, I regret not having gone to someone else initially, but I already have someone willing to finish the piece and go over the scarred areas so it's not so obvious that my leg got mangled at this studio.

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely love this place and the people that work there! The staff are blast to be around, they’re funny, personable, and cool people. Big shout out to Jamie Pierce, he has been doing a big piece for me, and he is by far the best artist I have ever had. I am in love with the work he has done so far, and I can’t wait to work with him even more! If you are in search of a studio or artist, or you’re still browsing, look no further, this is the place to be and he is the man to see. By far my favorite studio in Knoxville!

Experiencia fantástica: Been there like 6 times now! My tattoo artist Andrew Luce is amazing! I have 5 pieces made for him so far and definitely more to go I even have one that we have been doing for multiple sessions. I love the environment he creates every time I go and get a tattoo it's amazing, he always listens to what I'm imagining in my mind so he can create something amazing that I will love! Also, you can talk to him about a lot of things and have fun! Not only he is great I will say all the staff I have interacted with are amazing people and I love to be there! Also, they have candies at the entrance!!!! Love the place and they also just expanded so very happy for all of them

Experiencia fantástica: I went in to get my nose pierced. Nice open area/lobby when you walk in. I was greeted right away and asked if I had an appt (which I did). Jacki was very gracious and knowledgeable, she helped me pick out my jewelry & discussed everything I needed to know about my piercing and how to care for it. I felt very comfortable and Jacki did a great job! I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

The line work, dot work and shading is amazing! I love it! We didn’t finish the shading but what he did needs time to heal. 7 hours of tattoo work and it’s AWESOME! Experiencia fantástica: Hey, I went to Mythical Markings this January and it was fantastic! I waiting for about 2 years after my 18th birthday to get a tattoo because I couldn’t decide on a place to go. One of my friends got their tattoo done at Mythical Markings by Jamie and they loved it. Jamie was my tattoo artist and he was amazing! He was very attentive and friendly! It was a pretty big tattoo and since it was my first tattoo ever, I was really nervous. The day of my tattoo, Jamie looked at the tattoo outline sketch with me to make sure I liked it and we went over sizes, etc. It felt like he wanted to make the tattoo look as perfect as I did and that put me at ease right away. He took his time with the tattoo, because he wanted to really look great! I myself loved that because I was really scared of getting someone who didn’t care and just wanted to get done and get my money. My tattoo looks amazing and healed very nicely! I am 100% going to Jamie at Mythical Markings for other tattoos again and I suggest you all do too!!

I was unbelievably comfortable both with speaking to every person that worked there, and was very comfortable in the chair as well! Experiencia positiva: To start off, I've waited this long to leave a review due to anxiety and other reviews being called out for waiting so long. I had felt wishy washy for weeks after my appointment, so I wasn't going to worry about leaving a review within a time frame. I have nothing against the people working here. Theyre talented and hardworking. This was just me and my friends' experiences. It seemed that there was a misunderstanding regarding pricing for me. I'd asked for a specific quote of the maximum cost, and ended up being charged more due to the deposit not being taken account for during the discussion. Maybe I should have specifically said including deposit, but since it was my first tat I assumed that's what maximum meant. As much as I enjoyed my artist's enthusiasm for his work, the rushing through the consultation and the pressing to add detail made me feel a bit pressured. I really wasn't comfortable with the offer to add in freehand background ink to the piece once my tattoo was finished, as I had no idea how much it would cost or how long it would take (it was my first tattoo and I was shaking by hour 3) Edit: turns out I was unintentionally overcharged and just recieved my deposit back. I'm glad they were communicative with me and wanting to fix the issue. Moreover, I understand that these issues could have been avoided by myself being extra extra clear and stern about what I wanted, but I still felt it right to post my experience so that others like me will know what they need to do and say if they plan on coming here for their tattoo. Most of the actual reason for my review is due to a friend of mine, who had to cancel his appointment due to his artist, Andrew, being extremely unresponsive. He felt very rushed through the consultation and felt as though the deposit was almost shoved at him like he only had a few minutes. He wasn't quoted a price, but discussed size and time he wanted. He was very taken aback when he saw the 6 hour block for his appointment, as extra time and a general time quote wasn't discussed with him. He tried to voice his concerns several times and ask for the detail to be toned down, or for a quote of time/price, only for most of his messages to be left on read for several weeks. He rescheduled his appointment due to his nervousness about the lack of communication, to which the artist only responded saying the reschedule was fine and not addressing any of the previous messages he had sent prior. He ended up cancelling and losing his deposit due to the appointment date getting closer and still having no information or communication. I understand that tat artists xan get very busy, and can have emergencies outside of work, but to leave a client who's already paid his deposit in the dark for that long isn't professional. If it were just my experience, maybe my review would have been higher, but the complete lack of communication made my friend afraid that his first tattoo wouldn't be a good experience. He didn't recieve his tattoo, but he did leave a deposit and tried to work with the studio, so I very much consider that as him being a customer. However, because he didn't recieve a service, I put our experiences on one review. EDIT: I realize I forgot to name the artist for my friend. My apoligies, I've fixed that. Also, I wanted to clarify that he was definitely friends with his artist on Instagram. We both were, and I got pretty consistent replies while he never got replies.

Experiencia fantástica: Heard about Mythical Markings through some friends, these guys are amazing! Jamie did my design and he was a champion! Very professional, he checked up on me several times during the session to see how I was doing, and overall was a really chill guy; he made the session super comfortable and he’s a true master of his craft. Would 100% recommend Jamie and Mythical Markings to anyone looking to get a tattoo; Jamie’s now my go to guy for tattoos!

Experiencia negativa: Went here to get my first tattoo and had the worst experience. My artist Krissy was 30 minutes late to my appointment (that I put a 50$ deposit down for) and then as soon as she walked in asked if someone else could do my tattoo instead because she had another client coming in and she needed to finish that stencil and guilted me into agreeing. Then when I told the new guy what I wanted (a small peace sign on my shoulder) he looked at me and said he didn't do small tattoos and then had the shop owner come over to help him argue with me! This is over a tattoo I had already agreed on the size of with the original artist and put a deposit down for. After finally getting them to let me get my small and SIMPLE tattoo, I had to wait so long for them to get set up and have me tattooed. What I was told would take 15 minutes took almost 2 and a half hours... Terrible experience

Experiencia fantástica: Had my second and third ear piercings done today by Grace and was very happy with my experience! She was precise in the measurements and the piercings were quick and I felt little pain. So much better than the retail staple gun experience If you are wanting safe and sterile piercings you cannot go wrong with Grace and Jacki at Mythical!!
