Fantastic experience: Lambo did my tattoos yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The whole appointment was quick, smooth, and super professional. He made me feel comfortable the entire time and the placement and detail came out exactly how I wanted. His line work is clean and precise, and you can tell he really knows what he’s doing. If you’re looking for someone talented, efficient, and easy to work with, I definitely recommend booking with him!

Fantastic experience: My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience with G! She did my nose piercing and it’s perfect! Then turned around and did my fiancés tattoo! She was so clean, organized, and made sure everything was perfect and what he wanted! Tattoo is so clean and crisp! Lines are perfect. Highly recommend going to see G for any piercings or tattoos!

Negative experience: I went in for a belly piercing and the piercer who was taking a smoke break and late to it told me i couldn’t get one bc when i sat down my stomach had a roll bc i was in tight pants and she made me do this multiple times, I felt fat shamed and embarrassed. she then told me to not get it ever in my life because she said it would be horrible scarring and said she can show me pictures. I know multiple people of my size or bigger have gotten it and not told no. I went to another piercer right after to get another opinion and they said that they could do it and there wasn’t any problem with how my belly was and i just felt singled out bc I'm african American and not a 40 lb girl.

Fantastic experience: My best friend and I decided on our girls/birthday trip we were going to get another set of matching tattoos. We decided on the shop West coast tattoos, and let’s just say they did not disappoint! The detailed work in each of our tattoos is amazing. Lines are crispy and straight. Zach was the tattoo artist. Not only was he funny and down to earth, he was professional and knowledgeable! 10/10 would definitely recommend. Ask for Zach when you go!

Fantastic experience: My best friend and I came to charlotte for a girls weekend. We spontaneously decided we wanted matching tattoos and this place did not disappoint. Zach was amazing! Negative experience: This picture is what’s left of a tattoo that I got last Saturday 4/26/25 and today is 5/2/25. I am mad because I paid $80 for this plus tip. Me and 6 of my friends went and got tattoos from west coast tattoos last Saturday and most of our tattoos are faded or not healing correctly. When we went there the people there were nice and very welcoming. But when we contacted them to let them know the state of our tattoos , they were rude and have yet to respond to the text and pictures we’ve sent (that they told us to send).

Fantastic experience: I took my friend here for his bday, Courtney was the one to do the tattoo. I can’t say enough great things about her!! The work was amazing, exactly what he wanted and the pricing was very reasonable. She’s super friendly too, her apprentice is also very kind and fun to talk to!! We’ll definitely be returning

Fantastic experience: My sister and I were coming through town and decided we wanted to get piercings. We called ahead to see if there was an availability, and Jessica was able to see us as soon as we got there. I got my nose and navel pierced and she made it such a quick and painless experience! Fantastic experience: 5/5 every day off the week! This is my second time coming to Jessica! I came a year and 1/2 ago and she did a wonderful job me and my girlfriend’s Tragus piercings! I couldn’t remember her name but I remembered her vibe and how she took such good care of us! I came back yesterday for my birthday and she hooked me up again! She was very informed on the Tragus piercing and she knew how deep to go. You can tell she’s well educated on her craft!!! She made my piercings feel nearly painless! Kind of felt good in a way! She was so calm and gentle. You can tel she has a great spirit and has absolutely upped my confidence! Definitely coming back for 3 more piercings in a few months! 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: I love this place !! I called whilst I was working and asked if I was able to get pierced and told them the time I was available to come in. Jessica the amazing woman who pierced me stayed later for me so I could get my piercings! She was very quick, reassuring and honestly the best piercer I’ve ever had!

Fantastic experience: I had some issues with a previous Naval piercing from a different piercing shop, and Jessica was an absolute lifesaver! She was incredibly supportive and understanding throughout the entire process. Her professionalism and efficiency were top-notch. Once healing was complete (over 1yr later), she completed my re-piercing flawlessly on New Year's Day. Jessica is truly phenomenal – she's skilled, kind, and incredibly responsive. Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with these folks from the initial phone call, until now, 2 days after. Because JESSICA has reached out to me several times via text to make sure I’m happy, comfortable and that I don’t have any questions. Jessica was incredibly attentive with my requests on my piercing. She was VERY gentle and explained as she worked. She never split her attention to anything but ME. My piercing was one that I have always feared doing and one that could potentially be very problematic if done incorrectly. I do not regret it, and it has not been as difficult or painful as I had expected. I’m so glad I found her. In all honesty I am beyond thrilled with my experience at this shop and especially with Jessica!!!

Negative experience: i went here recently to get my cartilage and 2nd holes pierced in my ears, and jessica was my piercer and was drugged out on something and FELL ASLEEP ON ME while piercing me. aside from the fact my friend got 2 tattoos in the time span it took her to pierce my ears, jessica nodded out on me and fell asleep on my chest when i was in her chair. eric was also there and was visibly annoyed due to the same reason and expressed that to my friend and i AFTER THE FACT. i’m not sure how this shop is on a day to day basis, but from my experience i would not go back and would not recommend going there to anyone else. super unprofessional & super uncomfortable.

Fantastic experience: THE BEST tattoo/ piercing shop I have EVER been to! ERIC was my artist today. He was absolutely AMAZING! He was so kind, caring, and professional! ERIC made me feel so comfortable! I could tell that he has a lot of experience and that he has such a passion for art ! Fantastic experience: I got my nipples pierced in December by Destiny. It’s been 3 months since, and I was still in pain. I cleaned, I soaked. Did everything I could find to possibly help. Nothing did! I went back today and was helped by Jess. Not only was she helpful, she was concerned and apologetic about what I was dealing with. I showed her my nipples and immediately she jumped into action. She knew the jewelry had no room to allow swelling which led to them sinking into my skin. Instantly, she grabbed longer barbells, made sure I was comfortable and gently took out the too small barbells. When I tell you I felt no pain when she took them out, cleaned my nipples up and installed longer barbells. She kept conversation with me the entire time to! I recommend that if you get pierced, ONLY go to Jess!!! I’ll never get another piercing from Destiny again. The pain I was in because of her negligence to realize that every nipple is different, I don’t wish on anyone. I gave the 2 stars because of Destiny but Jess brought it back to 5 stars!!

Fantastic experience: I came into the shop about 3 days ago and I saw Jessica. I needed 5 piercings that night & Jessica made me super comfortable with each one. I had never been to a tattoo shop to get pierced but she answered all my questions & made sure I understood all my aftercare. I really appreciated that ! Negative experience: There’s a piercer (maybe she’s also a tattoo artist ) but she’s white , blond hair with terrible nails . Went in there , she was unable to put the ball on my septum piercing . She claimed it was her nails . She also gave me the wrong size ring . What makes it even worse was i found Out she over charged me . She charged me 20 . I went Back a few days later for a smaller ring size and the piercer working only charged me 10.00 ! This is the only reason i can Even give 3 stars . I’d never use that other woman again: She also claims she can’t take cash app cus she has to pay the shop out but everyone else takes it . LOL .

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing!!! I came in to get my second tattoo done and it came out amazing and while I was there Destiny the piercer helped fix my crooked snake bite piercing. The person who did my piercing originally had one side off center and she re did it for me!! Now my snake bites are perfectly even! 10/10 would highly recommend stopping by for tattoos or piercings

Fantastic experience: My bf and I got a tattoo here and it was amazing. The service, the tattoo, and the vibes! I forgot the lady name who did ours but she was blonde and also a Gemini. She was soo cool and did amazing! The girl who was practicing her art and showing us her drawings was such a sweetheart as well! Negative experience: This was back in 2019. My ears turned purple and would not stop bleeding. My nose swelled up. And the group I went with all had the same issues. We went back to have it fixed and it didn’t change the second time around. We had to go somewhere else all together

Negative experience: This owner has serious anger issues. I’ve never in my life seen somebody talk to women the way he spoke to my friends and I today. I’ve seen many comments expressing how this place has a hostile environment. Not only did he curse us out but he called us idiots!!!! This place needs to close down. Rude and unprofessional. I would never spend a dime in there. Skinsations is way more professional and their work is better there anyways! Go anywhere but here!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Okay so I just recently got work done at this establishment and I'm going to give my honest opinion and no I wasn't paid for this opinion. Hollywood 8 on Independence is a very clean establishment everybody was nice and very professional it's a very new tattoo shop it's decorated very nicely in the inside and very cozy and comfortable the receptionist was nice my tattoo artist was awesome friendly engaging and did very nice work on me honestly I can't wait to get my next tattoo I got tattooed by Alana she perform excellent work. If I had to give one complaint and I'm just nitpicking here I think that they should print out instructions on how to care for your tattoo afterwards and give it to every client that gets service no matter if it's a tattoo or piercing. If you are thinking about getting a tattoo please do not hesitate this establishment I have been to a few tattoo shops here in Charlotte and most of them are very loud rude and unprofessional But this establishment is definitely not that please support this tattoo establishment you won't regret it... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐... Shout out to the owner for putting together such a beautiful shop..

Negative experience: Bruce is extremely unprofessional. Have personally known underage people get pierced by him without any form of consent. Also, he puts women down in a HUGE way, he acts as if anything they do is beneath him. I can't believe he's still employed there. I recommend any of my friends looking to get pierced to stay away from this shop solely because of this man!

Fantastic experience: Great place. Went in for the first time to get a small tattoo, and now am working on a sleeve! Tattplug Tyrone is very detail oriented, his style is impeccable, his skills are ferocious. Dude is a beast with the ink. The receptionist Melanie was also very attentive in helping me set future appointments. She was quick to answer any questions i had. 100% recommend.

Negative experience: I mean I don’t know if the girl still works there but me and my sister wanted to get some birthday piercings. I got my second hole on my earlobes pierced and my sister decided on a septum piercing. 1. My earring are not even. 2. My sisters FACE was pierced instead of the “sweet spot” ! Please for the employers make sure all of your piercers are properly trained and certified in all noses ethnic and non ethnic noses and how to pierce correctly, because it is not the same in all noses. If you’re reading this and still decide to go make sure this person has a portfolio and has been trained properly in piercing. And rule of thumb if their piercings look “off” kindly ask for another or leave.

Negative experience: The dude pablo I believe that was his name tangled up my baby hair to her ear then kept twisting it till he noticed it and then cut off a bit of her hair because it was so twisted in. And still he charged 100 to pierce her ears!!! I was so angry I walked out so mad. My poor baby had to cry extra just because he didnt know what he was doing. Reviews on here say this place has best reviews but on yelp they are super low. I would go somewhere else!!

Fantastic experience: I got my nose done here last year and I loved it. I brought my son to get his ear done and we had a great experience. The lady was super sweet and pierced my son's ear quickly he didn't even know she had done it. We where only in there for maybe 5 minutes all together. I will always come here for piercings

Negative experience: My friends and I walked in on a Saturday to get a small tattoo. Pablo was extremely nice and personable. However, the rest of the staff was very dismissive and actually very hostile. They say there are rules against going in the back because of COVID but none of the staff had on there mask. Half of the staff was sitting in the back room on there foods when we walked back there and there was obvious hostility between the employees that work there. There is a $50 minimum for arms and legs and a $100 limit for everything else which isn’t advertised in there shop. Only one sign says $50 minute. I would suggest you go to another shop if you are looking for a great experience.

Fantastic experience: Emily is incredible! She’s the best tattoo artist there hands down! She’s great! All the tats she did for me came out awesome and exactly as I wanted! Absolutely incredible! She pierced my nose and it healed fast and it looks great! The area is kinda sketch, but hey it’s a tattoo parlor what do you expect!

Negative experience: I got a tattoo here a few months back in May and I wasn’t going to leave a review but after reading similar stories of the same artist, I thought I should say something. My friend and I decided to get tattoos for my birthday and I suggested this place specifically because of Emily, who is an absolutely amazing artist. However, after arriving, we were told Emily was not working that day so we had a nice, soft spoken Venezuelan woman as our tattoo artist. I began to feel a bit uneasy after being told the price of the two tattoos. Both my friend and I wanted very small, simple tattoos and we were told each one would cost us $200. I should’ve listened to my gut and walked out, but being naive and eager to get a tattoo, I ignored my best judgement and agreed to the price. The female artist was extremely heavy handed and the tattoo definitely hurt more than it should have. But that’s not the reason I’m leaving this review. I’m leaving this review because both my friend and I suffered from awful blowout due to the artist’s heavy hand and/or inexperience with the needle. I’d go as far as to say both because the shading on both of our tattoos was pretty sloppy and uneven. Not only that, but the placement of my tattoo is awful as the outline of it goes right over a freckle of mine and it isn’t very subtle. The tattoo I received also doesn’t look like the photo she was shown. Instead of following the outline of the original photo, the artist decided to put in her own “artistic spin” without first notifying me. So now I have a moon that looks too much like the letter “C” and a crooked star that looks nothing like a star, and is faded on the ends. Its so sloppy it honestly looks like the artist just gave up halfway through. I’m now looking into getting a coverup because the tattoo is honestly quite embarrassing. If you decide to go here, the only artist I recommend is Emily as she is very light handed and does an absolutely AMAZING job.

Positive experience: I went in (walk in) to get nose piercings and not even a few minutes later the piercer came out. Destiny my piercer was very cool, she also made sure to clean the things she would use. It was all really quick and i had a fun experience there!

Negative experience: My artist was AJ , I asked for realistic shading in my leaves and got this awful tattoo … and many of the leaves have shading out of the outline! The shading was jus so awful and two of the leaves that are black was not post to be black ! Nothing about this tattoo looks like what I asked for or showed him HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND going to have to get laser removal to fix this.

Fantastic experience: I suggest calling ahead to request wait time. We did, they weren't busy and had about a 10 minute wait for piercing. Bruce is a gem! Knowledgeable, funny, patient, understanding, personable and most importantly study with his hands! I will definitely be returning for other services and will request Bruceness....he made my day!! I also wanted to add very important, the place was busy (Saturday) clean and on top of the business. They were sterilizing e everything in between however not many people waiting not wearing mask .

Negative experience: My friend and i got our septum’s done, i had gotten the man with long hair, everyone was professional and very cleanly. Ali though i think he did mine too slow as it hurt like a mother, my friend had gotten the women with orange hair, the septum was placed horribly, it’s way too low then what it should be! it’s common knowledge septum’s are placed high up. She did not give a warning if my friends cartilage was crooked or something so she couldn’t place it correctly, looks bad!

Negative experience: 3/28/21 my friends and I decided to commemorate our trip to Charlotte by ending it with a trip to the tattoo parlor. Before heading on the road back to Hartford CT.I looked up a few near by and found this one and they took walk ins. When I first got my tattoo I was pretty excited The lady was a nice Venezuelan women who looked like Mia Khalifa and was excited to be working. I was genuinely happy for her. I liked that her equipment was quieter than your traditional tattoo equipment. She was calm so I felt assured. My tattoo was fairly quick, she took a pic and I moved along for my friend to go next. While she tatted my friend, my tattoo started bleeding a lot (I figured that was normal) she cleaned it we paid her (120 which I thought was fair) we left (I did get a piercing it came out amazing and that's why I gave this place 2 stars) The next day 3/29/21 the "bruise" Formed around and down my forearm and again I though it was normal. It started itching I would lather bacitracin on it (again thought it was normal) then the bumps started forming. I put topical Benadryl on the bumps cleaned it with antibacterial soap and patted it dry to then layer it with bacitracin but solely on the tattoo. On 3/31/21 it was raw it hurt I went to the walk in clinic they gave me antibiotics. My doctor (who is completely tatted) said I got a blow out tattoo meaning the women tattooing me was either heavy-handed or inexperience with the needle. So because of this misuse the ink was inserted deeper into the skin than it should be. Causing the ink to look blurry and smudged on the surface of the skin and bruised around it The only way to fix this tattoo blowout is laser, a cover up or a skin graft. I'm so sad this happened to me and the fact that it looks like I have a jail tattoo on my forearm I really want my money back to put towards a nice quality cover up But people please don't go there After many attempts I was contacted by a lady named Emily who told me that my tattoo was a bruise and that I need to put chapstick on it And that she will contact me by the end of the work with a solution (4/10/2021) ITS BEEN A WEEK ALREADY (4/16/2021)

Fantastic experience: Walked in with a friend late in the afternoon and AJ accepted both of us to get tattoo’s and did amazing work. Also amazing prices and love the quality of their work. Would definitely give it a try and I definitely recommend AJ he’s a great artist!

Fantastic experience: Man I so i love you! The group of very talented artists that work here and they are very friendly also. Good prices done by professionals not to mention the place is very clean which is always a plus. I've had 3 done here and work is excellent!!

Negative experience: FIRST of all, when we got there no one addressed us. Got there around 6 and sat there for over an hour and once we finally got helped they tried to charge us 150 for a small finger tattoo. On top of everything else they were very rude. The guy who did piercings was very nice and professional. But overall just wasted my time!!!!

Negative experience: I went and got a small tattoo done on my neck and received great work and great service. I came back to get a touch up to find out my artist had been in a car accident and been severely hurt. I asked the owner could he touch my tattoo up due to the fact his artist couldn’t be there to and touch ups are usually done by the artist for free. He proceeded to say he couldn’t give me what I asked for without me paying full price (50 dollars) because he’s a different artist. My whole thing is if it’s your shop you OWN in the absence of your artist you can’t touch up a tattoo that 4 letters long? Not a whole piece! 4 letters. Really argued me down about it when it would literally take five minutes. When I would’ve tipped half the tattoo price. That’s unprofessional to me and petty and bad business when I’ve came and got multiple tattoos and piercings there. I would NOT recommend this shop for work. I do hope Orlando pulls through and finds somewhere better to work he deserves it.

Fantastic experience: I went to get a very detailed piece of work done and Angie did an amazing job and I would very recommend her if you are getting something black done! I will definitely be going back when I want another tattoo done!

Positive experience: My son went in for a tattoo. I wasn't at all excited about it..but what are you going to do? I just know that it looks pretty good and he liked the artist that did it. Its healing, well looks great. I pray its the last, but he's planning for the next one already. I looked them up...I believe its a great place for a tat if you want one.

Positive experience: Great people and great environment. I got 3 piercings here today. I got my left nostril done to match up with my right piercing & I got my industrial done. I like my industrial but will have to get use to it. However my nose piercing is uneven compared to the one I wanted it evenly matched with. I got my piercings done by emma. My industrial has continued to bleed down my ear. I went to my original piercer & the instructions they gave me made more sense that the ones Hollywood Ink gave me. HI told me to to clean my industrial once a day for 2 weeks & i’m really suppose to clean it 5-6 times a day for 6 weeks. I would not recommend going here. Update: It’s been 5 weeks since I got my piercings. Emily the manager really helped with getting my piercings to heal correctly. Would highly recommend going to Emily or any one Emily recommends!!!

Fantastic experience: These guys are always the best, got my nips done here a year ago or so and just got my tongue pierced a second time. Emily was the best and super awesome. If I need another piercing she is definitely the go to!

Negative experience: My boyfriend got his septum pierced here, don’t do it -you will regret. It was the guys first time doing a septum and didn’t tell us. We over heard him talking to the lady and she wouldn’t do it so he did, the guy could’ve just told us and we would’ve went elsewhere. The dude pierced his septum in the totally wrong spot and left my boyfriend in awful pain (despite him having a very high pain tolerance). The piercing is not only in the wrong spot but crooked as well. Septum piercings are supposed to be inside the nose so once healed they can be flipped and not noticeable. Septum piercings if don’t correctly are not supposed to hurt at all. Do yourself a favor and do not get pierced here. Friendly staff and short wait time but definitely not worth wasting the money to have to take it out, let it heal, and then pay more money to go and get it pierced correctly.

Negative experience: Very friendly staff with not much waiting time on a walk in, however piercing quality is definitely not the best. My septum is extremely crooked and going directly through the cartilage of my nose, with one hole being closer to the tip of my nose than the other. Hurt like a cartilage piercing instead of the 1/10 pain rating others have given me. Definitely not worth $50
