Fantastic experience: I've had a bunch of work done at this studio over the years, and every experience has been awesome. The shop has a great vibe, is always clean, and feels welcoming as soon as you walk through the door. Mike and Tom are top blokes who make you feel comfortable straight away. Whether it's your first tattoo or your tenth, you know you're in good hands. The quality of the work is unreal, and Mike's attention to detail is second to none. They take the time to listen to your ideas, throw in their own advice when needed, and make sure you're stoked with the end result. The whole process is relaxed and stress-free from start to finish. Couldn't recommend Mike highly enough. I'll definitely be back for more ink.

Fantastic experience: Mike and Tom at Monarch are absolute legends. After countless hours trawling and researching artists on Instagram, I came across Mike and booked in for a pair of sleeves with him. This somehow ended up becoming an entire bodysuit over the next few years, haha. Mike's professionalism and attention to detail was top-tier throughout the entire process. The quality of his work on me has held up extremely well over the last couple of years, and will look bold and staunch for many years to come. I still have some bare skin leftover so I will definitely be back again. Chur the lads!

I stumbled across him on Instagram one day, looking for inspiration for a Japanese sleeve. I was so impressed with his work, that I ended up booking and flying up from Queenstown over 3 seperate trips. The quality of his work is unreal, and the whole process is extremely professional; making the trip to Welly a no brainer. I’ll be returning to Monarch for all my tattoos in the future. Fantastic experience: I was looking for an artist to work with my existing tattoo as I wanted to extend it to a 3/4 sleeve. Every artist I met wanted a "fresh canvas" & had massive egos! All that changed when I hit Mike up, he was down to earth & keen to work with what I had & incorporated my ideas into the design with his unique artistry. His work was so good that I went back a few months later & got a full sleeve. Enjoyed the yarns & looking forward to the next one mate!

Fantastic experience: I got large hanya mask, and partial cover up on my lower back, and on to my buttock. It was also to connect to a previous piece. Mike Todd was easy to work with. There was no awkwardness about where he was tattooing which was reassuring. Nice, clean work. Beautiful lines, and exactly what I wanted. Love the premises. Clean and well presented. I would go back, and definitely recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Very professional operation ( punctual : clean : detailed orientated.) The artist discussed my ideas was helpful and considerate in giving advice and input without being over bearing in anyway. The Tattoo was done at a quick pace which I was thankful for as ribs were a sensitive spot. Tattoo exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend this shop.
