Negative experience: The worst tattoo shop I had came across they messed my tattoos size and the shape came out horrible wouldn’t recommend going here try finding a better shop

Fantastic experience: I had such an amazing experience with Remington at Cuba Street Tattoo for my second tattoo From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed and at ease. Remington took the time to really listen, talk through my ideas, and make sure every detail was thoughtfully considered before we started. That level of care made all the difference. The tattoo itself is a simple fine line piece, and it’s been done to absolute perfection clean, delicate, and exactly what I envisioned (if not better). You can tell there’s real skill and pride in the work. If you’re looking for someone who combines talent with a calm, professional, and reassuring approach, I couldn’t recommend Remington more highly. So grateful for the experience and already thinking about the next one ✨

Fantastic experience: Remington did a beautiful tattoo on my wife's inner forearm, of a fantail with a dandelion and a few flowers. What a master of fine art and heavily detailed works of art, like my awesome Lion theme and African tundra covering all my inner arm. Thanks Remington 10/10

Fantastic experience: Always had an excellent experience here at Cuba St tattoo with Rhys - came here with a bit of anxiety not having many tattoos but the friendly and inviting atmosphere put me at ease and now I'm a repeat customer - always go here for my tats, got 2 full sleeves done here by Rhys now, always excellent quality, attention to detail and look amazing healed!

Positive experience: I really dont like giving a bad review but The pericing i got have been the worst healing I have ever had the two nose pericing I got here ended up being a nightmare (the jewelry was old and outdated so it would come right out of your nose when you sleep) it got to the point that on ny day I had to replace both jewelry peices so my nose wouldnt get infected from having to constantly put the j curve jewelry back in I loved getting my tattoos here and totally trust these guys with that But dont let them near you with a needle

Negative experience: Both me and my sister got tattoos here, was my first tattoo and I didn’t get my ID checked, nor did the artist give me detailed tattoo aftercare instructions (he said he thought I had had a tattoo before, which I hadn’t so I guess he was basing it off of vibes). My sister got her tattoo fixed up by a different artist recently, because of how poorly they were done, and her new artist commented on how scarred her tattoos were. Shes had tattoos before and none this bad, her coverup was 1/5 of the pain. My tattoo was extremely painful, with uneven lines and has blown out a lot for only a couple months. It bled a shocking amount and was literal agony. I can feel the scarring, artist clearly couldn’t control his depth. Spend your money elsewhere, there are so many wonderful tattoo studios around with far better art and experiences

Fantastic experience: I came to this studio for my second tattoo, which was the first tattoo I arranged on my own. My artist, Redd, was amazing throughout the whole process. They took my sketched concept and turned it into something absolutely beautiful, taking pains to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. They were incredibly kind and considerate throughout the entire process, and made sure I was comfortable for all of it. They even let my friends come in to watch. They have done another beautiful piece on a friend of mine. I will definitely be returning when I have enough money for another tattoo!

Fantastic experience: My friend and I both got piercings here today. Amazing service and experience, the piercer (middle aged man, I forget his name) was very friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel really comfortable, he even kindly walked us to the ATM when we were uncomfortable alone in the street (not in an unsafe area but you know what cuba street can be like lol). Very reasonable price for the professional service you get here !!

Negative experience: Had a tattoo done by a women I think called Rhett or something like that. By far the worst tattoo I have so far and I have many. Cost me $400 and now I have to pay again to have it redone.

Fantastic experience: Have had both smaller walk ins and a few bigger pieces done here and have always had a really positive experience. The staff are friendly, skilled, accommodating and clearly passionate about their work.

Negative experience: Horrible experience ,upon entry I was asked "What I was doing there" as if I didn't belong I then went on to say I was wanting a tattoo on my fingers but got told due to a lack of visible tattoos I don't qualify for a finger tattoo which I understand but it was they was she spoke to me was very degrading.

Fantastic experience: I don’t often write business reviews, but every now and then a small business needs a tap on the shoulder with a friendly smile to let them know they’re doing a good job. It’s unfortunate we live in a world where the only communication of a business is negative. People a very quick to complain, and really give people great feedback. I was wanting to get some more work done, my daughter introduced me to Cuba Street Tattoo in the middle of last year, like many, people that know me, know I go off referrals. I had seen the work my daughter has had done from Cuba Street and wanted some for myself. I’ve had two peices done from Zeir now with more booked. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences from Z, and the Cuba St crew. Z alway greats me with a big hug and a warm smile, he knows me by name and the staff know me as M****’s Mum and greet me so. I know not everyone are huggers, but I am and I like that kind of greeting. What I love about Z the most, is he listens to what I want and brings my thoughts and ideas to life, and helps me see what we can add or take away to make it even more beautiful than I imagined. I have more work I want to get done and Z will be the one who does it hands down. Thanks Z and the Cuba St Crew, keep rocking and doing what you do best!

Fantastic experience: great tattoo shop. My first tattoo, the design concept is roses, Ferns, motorcycle engine. It hurts more than I expected. I basically gritted my teeth and persevered through the 3-hour process. Listening to music and watching short videos could not divert my attention. I even cried unconsciously during the process. The tattoo master said it was not shameful. It cost 450. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Fantastic experience: We went yesterday. The artist was Remington who is amazing with so much attention to detail. A professional artist with a great personality. Very calm and friendly. We are thrilled with the result. We love our matching shamrocks ☘️

Positive experience: Don’t really recommend getting a tat here, some of the staff is really rude!

Negative experience: Got a tattoo from them a while back and when I arrived to have it done I was told the artist was away. So I let another guy do the piece but was told after it was going to cost another $300.will never go back

Fantastic experience: walked in with my sister whilst she was visiting for my birthday, wanted a small one together. the guy we spoke to who did them was amazing! super friendly and chill, communicated heaps about the style and sizing and the price. the other guys in there too were also super friendly! as a queer girly myself i felt super comfortable there and would definitely reccomend and go back!

Fantastic experience: Cuba St Tattoo are quite simply, rad. I’ve been getting tattooed by many artists all over New Zealand for over 30 years and Cuba St is one of my favourite studios to visit. They managed to create the perfect atmosphere mix of professional and chill. They’re all an incredibly talented, kind, respectful, and friendly bunch, not to mention funny. I always have the best fun and have always left on a high note with some awesome tattoos. I’ve had 2 by Zeir, his calming vibe and friendly nature keeps me going back for more of his super cool and unique style of work, I get mad anxiety and his chill and friendly nature is a godsend for me. Grant is such a good guy, and his talent and vast experience in the tattoo industry is what made me choose him to tattoo my face. Trust me, I wouldn’t let just anyone do that! My beautiful trad butterfly gets many compliments. Sometime's tattoo studios can be a bit intimidating, but Cuba St Tattoo has always made me feel welcome. Their professionalism and dedication to giving everyone an exceptional experience no matter how big or small their request is, is something they should be proud of, and I have a wish list of pieces I’ll be returning for. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I was there for a nose piercing today and the guy was so nice. I didn't have an appointment but it was done in 5 minutes. He told me everything he was going to do and looked after me so that I'm comfortable. So great!

Fantastic experience: Got a tattoo from Zeir Aka Snake Eyes about 3 years ago. At the time I was inexperienced with getting tattooed and I found the staff to be understanding of this. Tattooist was easy to work with when coming up with custom design for me and I felt comfortable getting my butt out and having him work on sensitive area. Pricing was very fair. If I lived in wellington I'm sure I would be back often.

Zeir customised a design for me and slapped it on a few days latter. The whole crew was so welcoming at the shop too, will definitely be back!

The price is very reasonable considering they include the price of their product, I’ve been here for years and couldn’t recommend them more :)

Negative experience: Very negative experience all together. Extremely poor organisation, no regard for us as customers with a prior booking, no communication about price until the end of our tattoos when we discovered we were quoted a completely wrong price. Made us feel undermined and disrespected. Will not be going back and will encourage others to avoid this shop.

Total miscommunication on pricing and ended up having to pay six times more than what I was quoted. dogs walking around the studio too which is scarily unsanitary for a tattoo and piercing shop. would not recommend nor will I ever be returning. Negative experience: Was quoted for a tattoo when we booked 2 weeks in advance, was over 5 times the price, which we were only told about the end. When we tried to talk to them about it they got really defensive and condescending. Went wanting a cute little tattoo left significantly poorer and in a bad mood.

Negative experience: awful customer service - very misleading with the price, tried to explain the quote that was given to us initially, but wasn’t taken seriously. the guys there became very condescending and aggressive. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Negative experience: Have had a couple small tattoos from this place, which are all patchy. Been to many other tattooists around Wellington and NZ and haven’t had this problem. Also don’t bother emailing them they are that useless the customer service in the shop is bottom tier too in my experience.

Fantastic experience: I suddenly had issues with my three-week old piercing I had gotten elsewhere and popped in quickly to ask what I should do about it. The staff were super friendly and ended up helping me out and removing the piercing straight away to speed up healing. The whole thing took less than 5 minutes! Thanks again for the help :)

Negative experience: Have had 3 piercings done here in 2020 & 2021, after being painful and sore for months on end i went to another piercer and was told they were pierced incorrectly and needed to be retired. Was not given correct size of jewellery to allow for swelling. Don't recommend.
