Negative experience: Child groomers. Went in for a tattoo and they repeatedly asked me if I had kids and if I could bring them in to model for them.

Fantastic experience: I got 2 tattoos by Nursey, and the entire process was amazing! We had an active back n forth around designs, and the session went wonderfully! She was very gentle while tattooing me (as gentle as you can get while actively stabbing someone haha). I ended up yapping to distract from the pain towards the end of a bigger piece, and at no point did I feel annoying. I'll certainly be returning for another tattoo! Everything was excellent and I love how the pieces I got turned out!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Morse is seriously top-notch. The vibe in the shop is awesome, and everyone there is super friendly. I came in to get some work done on an existing tattoo that I wasn’t happy with, but Heath completely turned things around for me. He really took the time to listen to what I wanted and offered up some great ideas that made all the difference. His attention to detail is unreal, and he reworked the tattoo in a way that totally blew me away. I couldn’t be happier with the result. I can’t recommend this place, and Heath in particular, enough!

Fantastic experience: Another amazing tattoo experience from the great team at Dr Morse - Nursey was the artist today. I was v happy to trust her with my tattoo to commemorate my dogs passing. I have lots of previous work from her that is now between 7 to 11 years old and all still looks great, as do my tattoos from Simon himself and SkinSpider, who also used to be at that studio. I would trust any one of the artists at Dr Morse’s studio - they are a wonderful community of talented awesome humans. It is a pleasure to spend time there and a joy to wear their art. Thank again team. See you next year for more tough stickers.

Fantastic experience: I’m visiting from the states and it’s the first time back in NZ in almost ten years. One of my regrets was never having gotten a tattoo before I left last time and knew I needed to rectify that on this trip. I wasn’t sure where to start or how to find an artist so I just started following #wellingtontattoos to see if I could find an artist I liked. I ended up coming across Dr Morse Tattoo and checked out their page. I was impressed with the caliber of all their artists, but kept getting drawn to Jamie Renee’s work. Luckily she had just opened her books for the last part of the year and I was able to snag an appointment that worked perfectly with my availability. She was super communicative, easy to work with, and I was able to provide my deposit through PayPal. Morning of the appointment I arrive and did have a little trouble locating it. I was looking for a street level shop but ended up asking some wonderful folks sitting outside if they happened to know where it was. They ended up being the shop manager and one of the artists and provided me with directions upstairs to the studio. From the moment I saw the outside of the studio I knew I made the right choice. Their whole wall is covered in beautiful murals and has a submarine old-school vibe to it. Inside you find a comfy waiting area with heaps of vintage action figures. Restrooms were super clean and well maintained, the shop is open and bright and full of all the artists work hanging on the walls. Jamie Renee was just as awesome in person as she seems on her socials, her style is impeccable and her manner was approachable, professional, and friendly. We reviewed the drawings, she was open to making changes but she hit the nail on the head with what she showed me and we didn’t need to adjust anything. She had a few options for the second, smaller tattoo I was getting which was awesome and chose the one that suited me best. The whole process was as good as I could have ever hoped for, with the tattoos I received coming out better than I had envisioned. I was there for about three hours, Jamie and I chatted off and on while she worked but there was no pressure to keep the conversation going. We finished up and she gave me tips for after care, which was a major concern as I have a long flight home just a few days after my appointment. She uses Second Skin to cover, which is something that most of the folks I’ve met here haven’t heard of because they all thought my tattoos were unwrapped (which was great because I could show them off without issues!) Overall I’d highly recommended Dr Morse tattoo, they have artists that can suit every style, but if Jamie Renee’s work is what you’re after, you can’t get any better than her.

Negative experience: They made a mistake with my tattoo and refused to accept responsibility for it. It was a straight forward geometric design. They have given me a couple of tattoos before but alas ruined this last one and didn't want to hear about it and didnt even bother to reply to my second email requesting a way forward. Disappointing. I have consulted a tattoo removal artist who confirms the problem so will be getting this tattoo removed. Go to this studio at your own risk. Better talk to them beforehand about what happens if they mess up your tattoo. I do not recommend them. This one star rating is for their arrogant attitude. Simon Morse's reply to my review is typical: just deflect to defend, call the client abusive, why not. Mr. Morse was the one who trashed another tatto business (Union Tattoo) stating that their tattooing skills were rubbish and he offered to "fix" a tatto done on my arm by Union. He said it was a poorly done tattoo and wanted to fix it to display what a good artist he is by comparison. A lie: I didnt ask that the tattoo given by his staff be fixed. I only asked for a touch up where a piece had fallen off. He himself suggested something needed to be made darker in that specific tattoo. Also, I have never asked anybody to work over time. On the contrary He and his artist know how to over charge. So no time of theirs was ever given "free". He didnt feel the need to defend a fellow tatto business but felt good trashing them speaking of defending other amazing businesses in Wellington. Customers "dish" out reviews when the service is rubbish. Customers dont like to be bullied by businesses such as Dr. Morse. If businesses bully customers, there will be negative reviews unfortunately. Good thing that there is a forum such as this for reviews or imagine what businesses would be getting away with. Go ahead and take sides with the bullies and speak for them. What else are you going to do. I have never abused you or your staff as much as you would like to say so in retaliation.

Fantastic experience: Wow, What an amazing experience from the moment you walk in and are met by the lovely Louise at reception, the place is beautiful as well as clean, the atmosphere is safe and inviting. All of the staff are friendly and smiling, Simon has been tattooing incredible art for me, his attention to detail and ability to collaborate and listen with a caring demeanor is next level. I was so impressed i suggested to my daughter to go there for her first tattoo, she had the amazing artist Gabby do a beautiful fine line colored butterfly which is commented on wherever she go's, with up to 10 artists working there you will find the style you are looking for , if you are wanting a friendly vibe with amazing artists this is the place for you. Fantastic experience: Cam Oliver, highly recommended. It been about a month since my peace was done and still I am getting compliments about the detail, colour and design. Everyone keeps saying its a "peace of art" and "doesn't look real", which is what I wanted I want art and not a standard flat design. Can't wait till the next we design together. On a side note the studio is wonderful, clean tidy, inviting for ALL ages, the crew are a delight to hang out with while your getting inked. Highly recommend this studio and crew. He listened to what I wanted, made educated, professional suggestions, and made me feel like my I mattered to him. Today was a very sentimental piece and also covered up an old tattoo. My advise is, go with your ideas but keep an open mind and let Simon guide you, he is freaking amazing!

Fantastic experience: Very simply put I am hugely impressed by how good this place is and how awesome everyone who works there is. There is am incredibly friendly and familial atmosphere and it's very apparent that everyone really enjoys what they do. It certainly gave me confidence that I'd chosen the right place to have my sleeve done. I'd chosen Heath for what I wanted done & to say I'm impressed with the quality of his work is a massive understatement. Heath is an incredibly friendly guy, extremely professional and amazingly talented. I had very high hopes for how well my sleeve would turn out but he way exceeded even those, I'm absolutely stoked with what he has done. Bit of a long waffle but the take away is this, if you're thinking of having any work done I honestly doubt you'd find anywhere better, I can't recommend these guys highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing day here! Simon was my tattooist and was just so great to work with. He could really see my vision and brought it to life for me. Not only is his work spectacular, but he was kind and thoughtful and looked after me really well. I was pretty nervous and knew I'd be there for a while, so I had on the ready three books and about 12 episodes of Netflix. I didn't end up watching anything and I only got through about 5 chapters of one book because I just didn't need them. The environment of the studio is also really amazing, everyone seemed very friendly and supportive. Would highly recommend them to anybody. Thanks so much Simon, am really looking forward to finishing this one off and will definitely return for future projects!

Fantastic experience: It may seem strange to say I really enjoyed getting jabbed in the arm with a needle for 6 hours (and had that happened at a different doctor's office there would be fewer stars) but I really enjoyed getting jabbed in the arm at Doctor Morse. Come in, chat with the artists (all approachable, interesting and very talented) and get inspired by the stunning drawings that cover every wall Just, if it's your first tattoo, maybe don't go for a full back piece. The folks here'll be happy to talk you through some options.

Negative experience: I am very disgusted in My service with Brie. I got the 1st part of an amazing tattoo done in July. Brie had said to do it in 2 part, took a pick on ipad and said she would email me with what it would like. I did not receive any email and tried for 2 months to make contact via txt which is how she contacted me. About 2 weeks ago she returned from holiday and said she checked her old phone and did I want my tattoo finished. Of course I replied yes... Today I called the shop in which Brie answered, she was extremely rude did not want to hear anything I had too say. She just throw things like did you pay? did you txt my private number? why don't you just come in.. She did not care what process she had told me during my first session and then ended the convo with so do you want it done or not? So who in their right mind would let some mark there body when they have been ignored for 3 months and then spoken too in the worse manner I have ever heard in my life... My 5 star rating has now dropped to 0.
