Fantastic experience: From my first experience with Jarlath last year, I knew I had found a true artist. Not only is the work incredible, but the entire experience is something special. He takes the time to listen and works with you to create something meaningful and unique. My experience was so positive that I trusted him with a cover-up of a tattoo I'd had for over 25 years and came back again without hesitation because I knew I was in the best hands. His work and approach made such an impression that my husband, who had never had a tattoo before, trusted him enough to get his very first one. It was a big deal, and it speaks volumes about the confidence and comfort he inspires in his clients. You never feel like just another appointment. He makes you feel comfortable and valued throughout the entire process. If you're looking for someone who combines exceptional artistic talent with kindness, professionalism, and a truly personal approach, I can't recommend him enough. I'll definitely be back again (and again!). And as an added bonus, he provides great soundtracks while he works ☺️ And I love Elena, too! Two of the best!!

Fantastic experience: I came into the shop as a walk in, both Jarlath and Elena were welcoming and very easy to work with. Elena did my tattoo and 3 of my other friends who were also walk ins. I was having a hard time picking the placement for my tattoo but Elena was patient with me, I ended up going with Elena’s placement choice (she knows best) and I’m glad I did because I love it so much ! During the session she was very soft handed and gave my tattoo so much attention to detail even though it was small. Would recommend this shop to everyone visiting Galway !

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place. We met the artists when my wife got a tattoo there on a visit last year. The experience was absolutely incredible. There was just an instant connection to them as they treated us as if we were longtime friends or family. The trust they instilled provided me with everything I needed to finally get my first tattoo. It was something I have wanted to do my entire adult life but a decision I didn’t take lightly. Spending time with Jarlath last year during our visit as well as this year completely removed any feelings of doubt or hesitancy. I’ll always be grateful for that. Now it’s time to start planning the second one for next year’s visit. If you are looking to get some real artwork done I cannot recommend The West End Art Collective, Jarlath and Elena more confidently.

They took walk-in’s for 4 of us, and worked with us all day. Elena paid lots of attention to her designs and worked with much precision. She created the design for my tattoo and I fell in love with it.

Fantastic experience: Top highlight of my week stay in Galway! I walked by one day and saw the Pogues artwork in the window. I knew right away, "This is the place." Walked in with a vague idea for a harp tattoo, wanted something subtle yet strong, nice and real. I met Elena that day, wonderful lady from Italy who's been living here in Galway some 14 years. We talked and I sent some image ideas and the next day she had drawn up the PERFECT sketch. The experience was top class. You can just feel it's a good place. Good people, good music, good vibes all over. The owner's lovely kids even walked in after school at one point (what a great environment to grow up in!) A million thanks to Elena for her dedication to the craft. I'm heading back to Philly tomorrow 100% thrilled with this new ink. And I look forward to stopping back again next time I'm in Galway!

Fantastic experience: What an absolutely wonderful studio. It actually really encapsulates the vibe and the spirit of galway, and the artistic scene that is so important to the city. The studio is welcoming and full of beautiful art work. Everyone there is so sound and welcoming. A very comfortable and clean studio, a great place to spend some time getting some custom artwork on your body! I'm delighted with my tattoo experience there, and will be back very soon. I can genuinely highly recommend this studio.

Fantastic experience: Got a wonderful piece designed and inked by EDO. I told her what I wanted and she translated the idea perfectly to the final design. Her attention to details is superb, from design, the positioning of the stencil and to the actual tattoo, start to finish. The studio is very clean and the artists are very friendly. EDO was also very clear on giving me instructions about the tattoo aftercare. Highly recommend.

Now that I’m in a new & wonderful chapter of my life I decided to go for it but I knew I had to get it right! I can’t recommend Jarlath enough, we colaborated with my basic idea of my connection with the Hill of Tara @ he was back & forth with the most amazing sketches. He really put his heart & soul into it. Being nervous on the day, he calmed me down @ the very ease at which he undertook his skills made me feel I was in the right hands. Fantastic experience: I only had an idea at first: I wanted a tattoo of a root shaped from the profile of the Strait of Messina, the place where I come from. Google it if you don't know where it is of what it looks like, it was a challenge for any artist. That root was meant to go on my heart, and, as s friend suggested, I needed a flower to bloom from it. Which flower? Well, a magnolia of course, the symbol of the Promenade in Reggio Calabria, my hometown. Elena Dova at the West End Art Collective Galway listened to all these ideas in my head and transformed them in a miracle, a truly perfect piece of art. Not just that, she made the whole process an extremely enjoyable experience with her great sense of humour and all the incredible care she puts in her work. Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten a few tattoos all over the world and this was my first place in Ireland. Got 2 tattoos within a span of 2 weeks, by the wonderful and talented Edo. Incredibly specific, gentle and welcoming. Jarlath is also so impressive and also, you can see so much art around the studio. It’s very calming getting your tattoo done while staring and becoming part of the art all around the place. Genuinely if you’re gonna get a tattoo in Galway, this is absolutely the best place. Edo also customised the tattoo idea I had in mind and letting her take creative freedoms was the best idea I’ve had.

Fantastic experience: The fantastic Elena Dova!!! This year I turned 30, so I decided to give myself a special gift. A few days before my birthday, I walked into the studio and I met the fantastic artist Elena Dova. I told her about my idea to get a tattoo of an Irish selkie. She was listening to me so empatheticly and carefully to be able to capture the exact meaning the selkie has for me. A few days later, she showed me the tattoo design, which perfectly matched my wishes. Elena is an extraordinary artist and a wonderful professionist, she manages to transform a tattoo session into a magical experience, a pure moment of art. Elena is a talented artist she uses the skin like a canva, and that is magic. I am so happy to have a piece of her extraordinary art on my skin. I'm ready for the next one!!!!! Grazie

Fantastic experience: 10/10. I went in with an idea and told it to one of the resident artists: Elena. After a few days she sent me some designs. I wanted something a bit different and she was so nice about doing something different, putting entasis on making a design of what I actually wanted on me till we got a beautiful design that I loved. The day of everything was very welcoming and relaxed. We spent a good time making sure the placement of the stencil was perfect and I was not rushed at any time. During the tattoo you could see how much detail and effort Elena was putting into it. She was very receptive if I needed a break of not. Elena was also incredibly understanding that I wasn't conversing as much since I was trying to distract myself from the moments of pain. We powered through it and I got an amazing work of art on me by an amazing person. I highly recommend this place and keep mentioning it to all the people who compliment the tattoo. The people here are incredibly friendly and nice and super talented. You won't regret coming here.

Fantastic experience: Jarlath reworked an old Celtic band I was unhappy with - he really brought the tattoo a new life. His design around the old pattern is absolutely beautiful, and he managed to fix a flaw with the old band to straighten it out. It looks like a real piece of art now. He's careful, his studio is spotless and he is very easy company for 5 hours of tattooing. Thanks so much Jarlath. I'll be back for my next one soon!

My plans to get a single blackwork tattoo have expanded to a full Celtic knotwork tattoo bodysuit with no other artists involved, and people very often ask who did my work and how to contact the artist. His ability to intuit what a client wants and bring it to life in his distinctive style, the meticulous attention to detail in his multi-award winning work, and his eye for tattoo design, long-lasting pointillism tattoos, and shaping art to the body in a complementary way are all aspects of what make him such an exceptional artist. Plus he’s sound.

Fantastic experience: Jarlath has done my last 3 pieces (all progressively larger than the last) and I could not be happier. All 3 times a very general brief was given and I just let him do his thing and the outcome is better than I could have ever imagined. That being said if you have something specific Jarlath and Joe are incredibly professional and are happy to work with you. The studio is always clean and an absolute delight to be in. Jarlath is so incredibly talented, kind, and just overall a wonderful person and artist. Would absolutely recommend for big, small, and all pieces in-between.

The whole experience was great and actually quite enjoyable. The studio is clean and relaxed with great artwork on the walls to enjoy. Jarlath is clearly very talented as I barely felt a thing until the end of my 4 hour sitting, when there was some filling to be done, and even then it was fine. Jarlath made sure I was well wrapped up and knew how to look after my new tattoo. He also checked in after a couple of days to see how it was healing up. I would recommend without hesitation!
