Fantastic experience: So great to work with! Living in the US, I reached out a couple months in advance, and was able to get an appointment scheduled during our trip to Ireland. I emailed some pictures with my ideas, and what Ollie created was exactly what I imagined! He did a fantastic job with the tattoo, in a reasonable amount of time, and I enjoyed chatting about all sorts of things during that time. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: Got an appointment very spontaneously and my ideas were realized exactly as I had hoped. Caz is a very nice artist and we had interesting conversations while my hands were done. Very queer friendly atmosphere as well.

Fantastic experience: Was thinking about getting my nose pierced for a while and after my friend said she went here and had a good experience I said I’d pop in. Debbie was so kind and really made me feel relaxed since it was my first piercing on my face and I was very nervous. She talked me through it really well and was so quick so the pain was quickly forgotten. I’m glad I went here today, was such a good experience. The building itself was so cozy and had a great atmosphere. I would most certainly come again if I ever think of getting another piercing.

Positive experience: Staff is lovely! Place seemed clean; I ended up removing my new earrings as the distance with 2nd earring was different left/right ear. To be fair I was shown the 'dots' of where the piercings were supposedly going to be, I could have realised the issue there and then.

The studio is lovely, very clean and it was the most relaxing and caring piercing experience I’ve had. She was very sweet, patient and informative, would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Denise is an absolute God send to the piercing world! Super professional, informed and friendly. I had to get my philtrum re-pierced after it closed and Denise did a full check beforehand to make sure everything would be OK. She offered great advice on jewellery choice and kindly loosened one of my other piercings at no cost. She was super sweet, and gentle and explained everything she was doing which is always nice as a nuerodiverse person. I felt completely at ease. I love the QR code consent form, so easy to use and it's nice to have a digital copy. The place itself is gorgeous and spotless. All the staff seem to really love what they do! I wish these guys the best success and highly recommend them for anyone considering a piercing.

Fantastic experience: I got a second lobe piercing by Sinead on both ears just during the Christmas break. Sinead has such a great way of putting you at ease before your piercing so that you are calm and relaxed, while also going through each step of the process and aftercare very clearly so you know exactly what's involved. The procedure itself was so quick and easy, and I'm very happy with how they turned out. It was a lovely experience and now that my ears have fully healed, I can't wait to go back and get my next piercing! ❤️

Fantastic experience: This is a lovely place altogether! I got a helix piercing by Sinéad a few weeks ago and my nose pierced by Debbie today. Both are incredibly sound and really take the time to make sure you’re happy with the placement, overall look etc. (think free lollipops and a ball to squeeze if it hurts) Also - Caz did my first ever tattoo nearly a decade ago and it still looks good. An absolute gem of a tattoo and piercing studio, can’t recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: Debbie was amazing got a helix and daith piercing, she was quick and made me feel relax and as comfortable as you can be when having your ears pierced . Best experience so far getting my ears pierced, will be back for a few more, she gave me good advice on cleaning and where I should place my next few piercing to make it look nice. I would recommend this place for piercing if you're interested in getting any.

Fantastic experience: Tattooed by Caz on several occasions now. Full chest and arm pieces in vibrant colours- he is extremely patient, light handed and excellent to work with. Caz has also done memorial lettering for me and his attention to detail is second to none. Pierced by Debbie and Sinead earlier this year, both were full of knowledge, gentle, checked in on me throughout and Debbie's aftercare services still blow me away.

Fantastic experience: I got pierced with Debbie around 6 weeks ago now and it was just an all-around great experience. She made me feel comfortable the entire time and explained what she was doing every step of the way. About a week after the piercings, one was a bit more swollen than we expected, so Debbie had me come in and she changed the jewelry immediately. My piercings are now healing extremely well, and I have had no problems since. Debbie is incredibly kind and professional, and I will absolutely be back for more piercings with her in the future!

Fantastic experience: I got my second and third lobe pierced by Debbie and it was an amazing experience! I'm really scared of needles but she made sure everything was okay, it was also pain-free as she was so fast and precise, I didn't even have the time to realize she was piercing my ear and she had finished! She's been really nice, if I'd get another piercing I'd absolutely get it from her!!

Fantastic experience: Will definitely be returning here for my next tattoo. I had a session today with Anna, she did two pieces on my arm and also touched up a recent tattoo on the same location to match the style of the new ones. She touched up the previous tattoo perfectly! It looks just like the style of the new ones, which was also exactly how I described. Very friendly and professional throughout, regularly asking if I needed breaks and also giving great advice about tattoo placement. Cleanliness was excellent too. The pricing was also great, it actually came in below my budget which was a pleasant surprise at the end of the session! Overall I couldn't be happier with how the pieces turned out and will definitely be booking my next tattoo with Anna again. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience at Obsidian Arts, it's a wonderful studio where I always feel welcome! Debbie did my septum piercing today and she was so lovely and helpful, took her time to discuss with me what I wanted and check placement etc. but when it came to the piercing she was so quick I barely felt it! I haven't gotten a tattoo in this shop yet, but I have been tattooed by Caz many times (actually almost all my tattoos were done by him) and have booked for another tattoo on my next Galway trip. Really can't recommend this studio enough, it is well worth the trip from Dublin for it!

Fantastic experience: Truly one of the most welcoming studios in the country. Debbie is the kindest and most gentle piercer you could wish for, she takes you through step by step and makes the experience really comfortable no matter the piercing. My gf will only get her piercings and tattoos done here by Debbie and Caz because of the caring nature of them both. Worth travelling across the country for every time!

I was in Galway for a few days on vacation, and after asking some locals their recommendations for a place to get a tattoo, Obsidian was at the top of the list. I popped into the shop on a Saturday afternoon to see if they could do a walk in, and while the day was booked, I was able to make an appointment for the next day with Anna. She was great, super friendly, and did a fantastic job. If I lived any closer than an ocean away, I would definitely return for another tattoo.

Fantastic experience: Absolute great staff, know exactly what they are doing, very quick at tattooing and doing piercings. After the work is done they tell you exactly what to do with aftercare multiple times and also send an email to you so you can always look in case you forget something. Staff will always be happy to help with any questions or aftercare in the weeks following the work done on your body. Definitely one of the best body art shops in Galway I’d highly recommend going and getting some art done. Thanks to sinead and Ollie for all there help today with getting the work done.

I have had a couple a tattoos done by Caz, he is very patient and his work speaks for itself, top class... his attention to detail is second to none... Ive also had a couple a piercings by Debbie, another top class professional, she is very calming and makes your experience calming and carefree.. He's tattooed my whole left arm and was able to design exactly what I was looking for (even when I couldn't explain it well myself) He's really flexible and will take time to make sure you are happy with your design and placement, and happily redo or replace elements if you want. I was really nervous for my first tattoo but even the painful areas were not as bad as I thought. I can't imagine not having my tattoos now they are exactly what I wanted. I will always return to Caz for tattoos!!

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Debbie for my ear piercing a while back. She was so gentle and very kind and polite. I would also like to take a moment and thank Caz for the amazing tattoo that had to be done in 2 sessions. Very open to ideas and I requested extra attention to detail and he was bang on. Even though it was 2 long sessions to get the tattoo completed but well worth it. I will definitely be back to complete a full sleeve. Thanks guys for an awesome experience.

Fantastic experience: I've had many piercings from Debbie (industrial being the latest) and a tattoo from Caz, even before they set up obsidian arts. I was nervous about the industrial but Debbie was fantastic as always, quick and clean, minimal pain, and two months later I've had zero trouble with it, like the other six lobe piercings she gave me. (My first lobe piercing - done by another - swelled up for over a year, so it's a testament to how well Debbie pierces) Caz was friendly and professional, so nice to work with and did amazing work. Wouldn't hesitate to go back if I ever wanted another tattoo. These people really are the best at what they do, and I couldn't recommend a more competent & friendly place.

He was really clear and communicative and even guided me away from a really painful area for my first tattoo, thank god! He was really reassuring and made sure I was happy with placement and side before starting which was really helpful! I then brought my partner to Caz for some of his tattoos and he loved Caz’s work and we both plan to come back for more! We then went to Debbie for nose piercings and she was so chill and kind, it really made my boyfriend less nervous and comfortable! I will be back to Debbie for more ear piercings and I’m really excited! The vibe of the shop is so cool and it’s really clean and open which I love. Couldn’t recommend the place more.
