Fantastic experience: Had a very enjoyable sit with Holly to get a beautiful fern tattoo on my forearm. My wife and I were over from the States, and we love collecting ink in our travels. Holly’s botanical work made her the obvious choice for the piece. Was a pleasure chatting the time away, and overall the tat was pretty pain-free! Definitely stop in to Life & Death Tattoo if you’re in Shrewsbury.

Fantastic experience: This was the 3rd time being tatted by Hollie. She is one incredible artist, she executes my tattoos the way I want them every single time! She is always friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to be around. Her techniques and knowledge make this place shine, and never fails to put them into practice. The shop is always a clean and there’s always a comfortable, relaxed environment. 10/10!

Negative experience: I had an all day appointment booked with a deposit put down. Artist didn’t show and I wasted a days holiday with work. I am not impressed and will not recommend.

She has such a calming presence and immediately made me feel relaxed, welcome, and safe in her space. On top of that, her work is absolutely beautiful. I can’t recommend her enough!

Yesterday, 18.12.25, was the start of a relationship between myself and tattoist, John Lewis that will continue for a while to complete a project i have in mind. John and the team have made me feel welcome and very comfortable at the studio, with John working extremely hard on the first phase of the project. To say that his work, talent, efforts and friendly manner are excellent, would be an understatement. I've already booked into my next session, which can't come quick enough. Fantastic experience: After 10 years since my last tattoo, I recently had the urge to get some more work done. After a recommendation of Life & Death from a friend, I decided to book in with Phoebe after checking her previous work out on Instagram. I was not disappointed! Phoebe very kindly made adapted versions of her flash to suit my personal preference. I had another tattoo by Phoebe earlier this week; this time a custom piece. I gave Phoebe a design brief and she absolutely smashed it out of the park! I’m beyond delighted with the finished result. The studio itself is great, everyone is very friendly and welcoming and I can’t wait to have some more work done next month!

She is so attentive and is amazing with people who are nervous or a wimp (like me). I asked for a Wicked musical tattoo and She created the most amazing tattoo I could think of. Fantastic experience: Had a tattoo done today by Hollie, absolutely phenomenal work that I couldn’t be happier with had me smiling like a Cheshire Cat all the way home and made it well worth travelling down there! What’s more impressive is her attention to detail as rather than just stick a generic stencil on and call it quits, she went above and beyond and free hand drew the design so it fit anatomically correct. She was very professional as were all the other artists, very warm atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and taken care of! Can confidently say I’ll be going back for more and would recommend anyone looking at getting a tattoo get themselves there too (just wait for me to book my next one so I’m not at the back of the line ) Her work is incredible and not just her’s but all the artists were working on amazing projects from what I could see today! Fantastic experience: I can not recommend Jimbo highly enough. I have been seeing him for 13 years, lost him for 7 of those years, and could not see anyone else. I have large pieces, but they started off small! My tattoos feel very personal to me as they are based on my life, Jimbo makes them come alive through ink. Excellent if you want to give him free reign or if you have a specific idea. My chosen theme is dark, gothic but pretty! Jim is very focused on the art and getting it just right for you.

The studio is so welcoming and warm, and the attention to detail on cleanliness and safety is second to none. I had the tattoo completed in one sitting and was over the moon with it. A few years on and I am almost ready to go and get it added too. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Aaron at life and death did a lovely tattoo along on side and onto my ribs, he did an amazing job and kept checking I was okay and gave me lots of breaks. The environment in the shop was friendly and put me at ease. The staff were all nice and made the session go quickly. It was lovely seeing how well everyone works together! I would highly reccomend as all of the artists produce some amazing work. Lewis had completed a beautiful sleeve on someone I know, the detail was unmatched and Aaron's style and line work was great!

All the team there have their own specialties so there is really something for everyone. Everyone is welcoming from Joci on the front desk to all the artists themselves. He mainly got tattooed my jim, and was a great fun, friendly atmosphere, and the art is amazing. His tattooed are quite old now however they still look as great!! I 100% reccomned!

Negative experience: I initially enquired about getting a tattoo by John Lewis, as I was very picky with who I wanted to do it and I liked his work. They came back saying “can’t you use another guy, John is booked up for months”. I thought this was rude but still insisted I have John. After waiting 6 months John contacted me the day before to say he had to go out that day and said I’d have to “work around him on what time I could have the tattoo”, I wasn’t impressed with this at all but I had waited 6 months so just went along with it, so I went in that day but at a later time slot. Before coming to the studio I had told John what I wanted, but when I arrived the rose he had chosen was nothing like I had described, I did mention this but he said they are all similar…anyway I then proceeded to have the tattoo. Through the sitting John didn’t seem very focused and was answering phone calls multiple times during the tattoo which I wasn’t impressed with and he didn’t end up spending the full day I paid for doing the tattoo. I was charged the full amount despite all these things that happened. I do like the tattoo but I definitely think it could have been better and had more thought put into it. Just felt like I was another person to them and felt no customer focus at all. This was my first tattoo and I didn’t feel like that was really understood fully and that I wanted this tattoo to be done exactly how I wanted as it had meaning to me.
