Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Mortez several times now for a piercing and several tattoo sessions with Gillian. Everyone at Mortez is so nice and the atmosphere in the shop is really chilled. Gillian is not only an awesome person but an incredible artist. When everyone else told me my old tattoos couldn’t be covered without laser, Gillian accepted the challenge and I couldn’t be happier! I assumed I’d have to have dark boring cover ups but Gillian is giving me better than I could have imagined! So vibrant and unique. Thanks Gillian and the Mortez crew for always looking after us when we visit

Fantastic experience: I’ve been back to see Gillian at Mortez a few times now, and she’s honestly the only person I trust with my skin at this point. What I love about her is that she actually listens. I’ve gone in with some pretty vague ideas, and she’ll just sit there and hand-draw something custom that looks ten times better than what I had in my head. She’s done everything for me—some really solid black and grey work, pieces with vibrant colour that’s still bright months later, and a cover-up that I honestly didn’t think was possible to hide. You literally can’t see the old tattoo anymore. The shop itself has a great vibe—everyone’s dead sound and it doesn't feel intimidating like some studios can. If you’re looking for someone who is a proper artist and actually cares about the flow of the design, go see Gillian. She’s a legend.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended studio with incredible artists and a genuinely fun, friendly atmosphere. Gillian (Stealth Badger) has created multiple designs and tattoos for me and still manages to amaze me every single time. I’m currently having a full sleeve originally done at another studio and disliked for years completely reworked as a full cover‑up. Other studios told me it couldn’t be done… but not the case at Mortez. The consultations, the design process, the service, and the hilarious chat are second to none. I wouldn’t put my trust anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Got a tattoo done here. I stalked off a recommendation Gillian badger (stealth_badger) instagram and was super impressed with her work. Had a few ideas and Gillian set down with me and really helped hammer out the qualities in the different ideas to help get a design which complimented the placing and gave me a tattoo which i absolutely treasure. I was only in the country for a short while and she helped me and worked with my schedule. Good chats, comfy environment and i would give a 100/10 if I could. Also super gentle if you’re someone squeamish, absolutely blown awaylove ‍love‍♀️loved the experience.

Fantastic experience: Gillian was my artist and made me feel very welcome and helped me all through my appointment. During my appointment I got two tattoos and she was very patient going through the pre-consultation and in the end the work turned out great and was exactly what I wanted. Im very happy with the result and I will be returning to add more soon.

Fantastic experience: I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a tattoo! My husband and I have been getting tattoos by Gillian for a while now. I was pretty clueless about what to go for initially- I knew I wanted something in a Celtic design and I was so happy and impressed with Gillian’s design and ideas. She is insanely talented - all her designs are amazing and she has a wide range of artistic style. We have great chats too and she patiently puts up with my middle-aged ramblings! Everyone is really friendly and you’re welcomed as soon as you come in. The studio is also spotlessly clean and comfortable. Google won’t let me add my photos but I highly recommend Mortez.

Fantastic experience: Mortez Tattoo & Piercing, on entering the studio, surely strikes all first-time visitors as a clean, well-ordered, welcoming and friendly space. From the front desk to the chair (or Hot Seat as I like to call it) everything is calm, seamless, and inviting. Both "professional" and "warm" are words I am entirely confident of using. A hat tip then to Roz, on the desk, and Jed, who put needle to skin on this occasion, both for myself and a family member: both were stars. I am sure there shall be more visits to Mortez on the horizon.

Fantastic experience: Amazing as always I had a tattoo with Gillian! It’s my second tattoo with her and both times I came here I had great experiences. Fantastic experience: I’ve had 4 tattoos done by Gillian now, including 3 cover-ups – one of them was a horrible tattoo I’d been stuck with for 10 years (I can't explain how awful this thing was). Another artist recommended Gillian, and honestly, she smashed it – it’s perfect and I'm absolutely obsessed with it. She’s insanely talented, but also just such a good laugh. She makes you feel totally relaxed while you’re getting tattooed, which makes such a difference. The whole team are lovely too – really welcoming and friendly every time I’ve been in. Gillian was outstanding, her work speaks for itself, she has what I can only describe as put 2 pieces of art on my leg and arm today. I could not be happier. Gillian was an amazing artist, she talked to me about the design, the colours and all the little details as we went through the process, she made sure I was super comfortable and even gave me a blanket. The studio made us feel so welcome, and having previously met Gillian to discuss our ideas we were excited to get started. The experience from start to finish was fantastic, Gillian’s design and superb artistry is second to none. We are delighted with the results - mine a delicate cherry blossom with a hidden breast cancer ribbon, and Gordon’s a bold music statement (Status Quo Pile Driver) that he can add to later. Recently tattooed by Gillian a memorial tattoo for my dog and Amanda for a hand tattoo Speedy and the quality of work is second to none. Fantastic experience: I can’t tell you how terrifying getting my first tattoo was. Would it hurt? Did I pick the right piece of art? Where should I have it done? I spent a long time mulling these questions over, but when I was ready, I went straight to Mortez on the recommendation of my sisters. Let me tell you; I couldn’t have been happier. My artist, Taylor, was so approachable and so helpful refining my design to get it looking like 100% the tattoo I wanted. No pressure, no eye rolling when I suggested a change, Taylor’s patience and ability to create the art I wanted had me ready in no time. I wasn’t sure what to expect when it was my turn, but before I even got to the chair, Taylor made a final check that I was happy with placement and design in a spotless environment. Seriously, this was hospital level clean. Bright, cheerful, and plenty of beautiful art to keep your attention away from…… the needle!! Fellow tattoo virgins, let me assure you that behind my calm demeanor, I was bricking it. It’s only natural for first timers, but the deed itself was nothing like what I expected. There’s no giant needle to poke you, the equipment itself is a noisy wee hand-held thing that feels like you’re being scratched with sandpaper. Seriously, that’s it. It feels like sandpaper. Sort of tickly to begin with, scratchy as the tattoo goes on. My tattoo, a small piece on my inner arm, took about 15-20 minutes and Taylor was great company as she worked. Talking me through the process, patiently answering my daft questions, all the while creating a beautiful, nuanced work of art. Well…. It was a cartoon moustache, but she still did a phenomenal job. I can’t recommend Mortez and Taylor enough, there is nowhere else I’ll go for my second tattoo!

Everyone has their own style, and so you won't be left wanting. I've had several tattoos by the amazing Gillian, such a tallented artist! I wouldn't go anywhere else. The studio is immaculately presented, with a relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for your 1st or 100th tattoo, head along and say hi to them, you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: So, what to say about the guys at Mortez...from start to finish the experience has been excellent! Everyone is friendly and helpful, giving a great atmosphere. I had booked with Gillian for earlier in the year but due to work commitments had to reschedule, this was done with no issue. I had previously discussed my idea however hadn't checked back in and turned up, giving her no prep time, (please don't do a me though) She was an absolute star, took a rough idea thrown at her last minute and created a beautiful, meaningful thigh piece......freehanded no stencil.....can't wait to have it completed! Fantastic experience: The vibe and atmosphere at mortez Is great, the place just looks cool and you couldn't ask for friendlier, down to earth and fun staff that always welcome you. My tattoo artist is Gilian and since making the first tattoo with her I refuse to look anywhere else. It's easy to arrange a talk where you can discuss and brainstorm ideas for what you want and when I needed a cover up for old tattoos made elsewhere, she manages to make them even better than what I initially bring. I dont know how she does it but she's a wizard in this art and I'm excited and eager to do another dozen with her. 5 tattoos and 2 cover ups later I realised I haven't left a review. There's nothing to say but the fact that mortez Is 11 out of 10, if only I could give it that. Anyone looking to have a tattoo made go in here once, you'll find your home as I did. Negative experience: Rude very poor customer service never even made it through the door arrived 3 minutes early to a rude sigh and a two minutes gesture whilst I stood outside in the cold whilst the two ladies working drew me a dirty look before even thinking about seeing their drawing of a tattoo would rather spend my money elsewhere waste of time!!!!! Basic manners cost nothing

Fantastic experience: I recently returned to Mortez after getting my lobes done by Emma (who was amazing and so helpful in talking me through my first piercing) last year for a triple stacked vertical helix. My piercer for this was Megan and I cannot sing her praises enough, she was so helpful in telling me what my anatomy allowed me and I look forward to a project with her soon. Her communication skills and energy were phenomenal and I simply cannot recommend her enough.

Fantastic experience: I recently went and got my first piercings here, cannot recommend Emma enough. She was lovely, friendly and patient. She made sure to discuss everything we had planned, explain the process and check in with me at every stage to make sure I was happy and okay to go on. At no point did I feel rushed or pressured, and came out with three lovely piercings (lobes and a nose stud). She gave good advice on positioning and had clear safety rules as well as being meticulously clean. I would have no hesitation going back to see her for more work.

Shop is clean, all the staff are so friendly. It's a busy shop. I'm so pleased with my tattoo and Taylor is very talented. I can see this tattoo turning into a sleeve. Fantastic experience: I just went in because I had a problem with one of my piercings (just needed to put it back) and the lady so kind, thoughtful and friendly. She was really sorry not to be able to help me with my problem, and she took time to explain what was the issue and to chat with me. Even though the moment was painful it was not an unpleasant moment thanks to her.

Fantastic experience: Gillian has reworked some older tattoos of mine, brought new life to them and I now love them. She's also done some amazing pieces on me of her own design. Different styles, she's up for taking on any ideas I've had and I keep coming back for more.

Fantastic experience: Got 2 tattoos of my beloved Sox - his pawprint and wee face. Very impressed and happy with the finished tattoos and their accuracy. Friends have all commented on how great his face looks. Perfect way to remember him Amanda was very professional and has such attention to detail. Mortez is a very clean and hospitable tattoo shop. Will definitely be back for more.

Fantastic experience: I had a brilliant experience getting my ears pierced (19yo) and I was very nervous, the person at the desk gave some info and said I can talk to the piercer. The piercer Emma then spoke through the process and made me feel very comfortable, when I was getting it done they werent rushing, made sure I felt okay and had eaten and I always felt safe that I could say stop. They took it slow after and didn't rush me out the door and everyone was so lovely too. 10/10 would recommend they're amazing!

Fantastic experience: Nice and clean place. I had my tattoo there and a free touch-up session. The artist was changed on the spot, and i wasn't informed about this - but I'm satisfied with the final result.

Fantastic experience: Went in to get my nose pierced feeling incredibly nervous, but thanks to Rach, found the whole experience amazing! She gave me all the info I would need at the start, took her time to make sure I was feeling ok and then did the smoothest piercing I’ve ever had :D really happy with the result and cannot recommend Mortez enough.
