I've used Gareth over the last 14 years to do the majority of both my sleeves, there's not many people that you can chat with for 3 hour sittings and still chat more at the next sitting, Gareth is very chilled and easy to talk to. Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend Snake and Tiger enough. It’s in a great spot in the city centre and has catered to me as both a pre booked customer and a walk in. I’ve been getting tattooed by Gareth for almost 20 years and continue to go back. He always delivers exactly what I want, just as I imagine it and is an artist I know I can trust. It’s a clean shop, everyone is super welcoming and it’s a great space to be tattooed in!

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked in for my first inquiry Chris showed a deep knowledge of the iconography and context of Japanese sleeve design. Chris’s dedication to his art is obvious and the process to create the half sleeve was interactive, guided by sound principles and I am overjoyed by the results (so much that I have also had the other half sleeve done). I had debated a half sleeve for decades but always stumbled with finding the right person to trust with it. Chris trained in an authentic lineage of Japanese style tattooists tracing back to Horiyoshi III in Japan, he was given the name Horihebi as recognition of his dedication to his craft. This kind of authenticity was what I was looking for as well as a credible portfolio of work - Chris has both (and just as importantly is an engaging and interesting person who it’s easy to chat with). Highly recommend the studio and Chris.

Fantastic experience: One full traditional Japanese sleeve done and one in progress. Chris is an expert when it comes to traditional Japanese and American work. From concept to tattoo his professionalism and skill can’t be faulted I couldn’t recommend this shop enough! Professionals with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Service is second to none and always a pleasant and friendly experience. I’ll be back for more when my second sleeve is finished. Additionally, their cover-ups are also elite. My dad had two full sleeves to cover his old stuff and it’s like they were done on blank canvases. 10/10

Fantastic experience: I first went into snake and tiger and met Chris in 2022, I had a 1990s tribal which I hated and thought could never be covered. Anyway, turned out I was wrong, Chris immediately said he could cover it and I booked my first appointment, I've been back every month since then and now have 2 full Japanese style sleeves and we're well on with my back. Chris is a real expert in traditional Japanese style tattooing and I'm super happy with everything he's done for me. All the guys at snake and tiger are really friendly and it's a great atmosphere I'm the shop. Would definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: Me and my boyfriend came here for thr first time yesterday on the off chance that there was some walk-in appointments free. We was very impressed with how the shop looked, there were plenty of examples of the work all the artists had done available for us to look at and everything just looked clean and professional. Lucky for us, Ellen had some appointments free and agreed to do our tattoos. Mine was a custom piece created by my boyfriend and Ellen ensured that not only was his design respected, it was done to a great standard. She took great care to ensure that both tattoos were placed great on the body and that we was happy every step of the way. All the staff we came across were really friendly and were happy to talk through anything with us. Ellen took time to explain all aftercare to us and that we was okay throughout the whole tattoo experience. It was my boyfriends first time at getting a tattoo and Ellen ensured he was comfortable throughout and allowed him to take breaks when needed. We never felt uncomfortable with her and she was very chatty throughout. I would highly recommend these guys and I personally will never go anywhere else for my tattoos.

After trying a few other tattoo shops i walked into snake and tiger. They were welcoming and were able to book me in within the next few days.
