Expérience fantastique: I decided I wanted to get a nose piercing after 10ish years of it being taken out. I booked an appointment same day here with Keegan. They were very professional and were fantastic about giving information about what to expect and aftercare. It ended up we were able to reopen the old piercing so they were able to reapply jewelery in the old hole. I was very appreciative that they decided to try that first, it was surprising and I think will make for a much quicker healing experience. The jewelery options were plentiful and they had alot of different designs and colors, very great and high quality options. I have always believed in paying for top quality jewelery, and i am grateful for shops who have similar values. I got a beautiful little jewel, and it looks stunning and shiny. I am so happy with it and will absolutely be back if I decide to get any other piercings, and I will for sure be back when it's time to change out for a new top.

Expérience négative: I've been going back and forth about saying something and initially wanted to write a private email about it but emails only seem to be for making an appointment. I don't know what can be done or said but I just wanted to express my experience that I had just the other week that's really been bothering me and won't leave my mind because of how I was made to feel and I didn't feel good about myself at all leaving that night. Like I said, this was just the other week when my best friend and I came together for tattoos with Tori. Things were fine, originally, until they weren't. When asked who wanted to go first, I stepped in and said that I'd like to be last, that I needed a minute. Now, when someone states that they need a minute, usually that means they're not okay. Instead of making sure the client (I) was okay, if they (I) needed anything, I was laughed at and ridiculed for my statement. She turned to my friend at the same time and made a comment on how she knew the process. (I have 30+ tattoos, granted they were hidden) I just needed to ground myself and process things due to a minor anxiety attack. But to assume I was "scared" is not cool and that alone didn't sit well with me. And it goes down hill from there. How I felt afterwards was like a third wheel, when this was supposed special moment for me and my friend felt like the special moment was between them instead while I was left out. While tattooing my friend, not much was said at all until she was done and gushed over the tattoo she did on my friend and took nice photos with the special light. Next came me and suddenly all chatty, but with my friend. I tried to chime in, making my own comments and adding to their conversation but I got short answers and essentially brushed off while she continued on with their own topics, leaving me to just lay there and listen. Tattoo is done and I didn't get the same excitement from her at all at the finished results. She snapped a super quick shot without using the nice light and basically slapped on the saniderm, the entire backside wasn't even attached to my skin. So it was no wonder that when we left to our next destination, that I had fluid all over my leg, foot and shoe, in a public space. Shop was closed by this point so until I got home, I was pretty much a walking biohazard. Thankfully I had my own saniderm to replace and had it stying on just fine during healing. The point I'm trying to make is that I didn't feel good about my experience. I don't understand the coldness I received and the favoritism the other received. Was it because she's a returning client spending hundreds on appointments when I was new? Cause that's totally wrong. Was it a bad day? Last clients of the day? Because that's also very wrong to treat one better than the other. I have been treated better and taken care of better at a tattoo show where it's super face paced and littered with people than i did that night. And normally tattoos make me feel good after, they're like therapy to me but that just wasn't what I got... Again, not sure what can be done or said but I just wanted to bring this to light and maybe be more aware of comments and to take better care to ALL clients when there's multiple coming in together, or just in general and not have them feel so horrible about themselves because they "need a minute"... Thank you for your time.

Expérience négative: Im giving one star only because of the one gentleman with long blonde hair for greeted us with a smile asked if we need assistance. I went in to just to see jewlery they had to possibly purchase for my clients and the one lady was so quick in the way she responded back to me first off i was not going in there looking for a deal I was willing to pay full price and she looks at me and says we dont do resale or sell at cost i told her im not expecting you to do that im willing to pay full price and she was questioning me as if I was not a certified piercer asking if im going to sterilize the jewelry before piercing..im sorry but super rude! pretty sure she was just judging me based on my attire you lost a potential customer. Such a great way to greet your customers.

Expérience fantastique: me and my boyfriend went together for nostril piercings and neither of us have any regrets. we showed up 10 minutes late due to awful traffic, they still took us no problem. Keegan was super kind and professional, explained the process of the piercing all the way to downsizing very well, provided a safe and comfortable environment to ask questions, provided a sanitary and clean space for the service, and we saw all the equipment come out of sterile pouches. the piercing room has a bunch of cute decorations and photos on the wall which i personally loved and the studio as a whole has a nice light atmosphere. they had great jewelry selection as well. both of our experiences were very very positive and fun, and overall made the whole thing way less anxiety inducing than i usually find it to be. i won’t lie, the price is on the higher end of what i’ve paid before but the jewelry quality and the quality of the service itself is more than worth it. i plan on going back for any pieces i might add in the future!

Expérience fantastique: I have always wanted to get a tattoo but was too afraid to. After much encouragement, I finally got my first tattoo with Tori. She came highly recommended and she truly made my first tattoo a great experience. The process was explained to me clearly and she was very reassuring as I was still pretty nervous. I got a small tattoo of my rainbow hamster's front paws and it is the cutest little tattoo, she did an amazing job. I love my little memory of my boy! Cannot thank Tori enough and will definitely be going back to her!

I went there for the second time and I went there as a walk-in customer with my mother Just to pick out a nose Jewellery which wouldn’t take so much time, But the lady was being so passive, aggressive and rude towards my mom and I As if it felt racially motivated. They claim to be in a rush but we only took five minutes to choose something. It felt so odd to me

I have now been back to Human Kanvas Sunridge twice more since then and gotten 2 more to add to the existing one.If I were to get more,it would be with them,.I've had 3 different artists and all 3 were caring ,professional and very easy to work with,I highly recommend this location

Expérience négative: I’ll give 5 stars for the tattoo outcome, but maybe just 1 star for the pricing. This isn’t about the shop itself, but about the artist, Manik, who did my tattoo in the Sunridge area. I arrived at the shop at 12:30 PM. After going through the design discussion and his sketching, we started the session at 2 PM and finished at 8 PM. That’s 6 hours of work, including a 30-minute break and a few 15-minute pauses throughout. I’m not sure if it’s fair to charge me for a full-day session ($1,200), especially considering he only tattooed me for 6 hours (with some breaks) -and it’s not even a full lower arm. There’s still a large area left untouched. For comparison, my artist at Human Kanvas in Beacon Hill told me she only charges from the actual start of the session, which I thought was very fair and considerate. In contrast, with Manik, I felt like I was overcharged. That’s why I’m feeling a bit ripped off.

Expérience positive: honestly the piercing wasnt the problem mine turned out fine but its just people that work there my piercer was schantarra she was rude she doesnt allow recording which i thought it was a shop thing so i didnt think anything of it but after someone i know who got there piercing done by her and she told them that SHE didnt want to get taped so it was a personal thing which i understand but also why be a piercer when people obviously want to get to get on video i just thought it was stupid and annoying and the way she told me was very rude she just seemed like a smart ass i just think she doing to much they honestly didnt have good customer service they didnt really make me feel comfortable so im glad it was quick one because i couldn't stand being this a room with someone who was so dry like them i probably will not go again the service was good but not the customer service

Dawn's (@inkydawn) creation was so good I was back at Human Kanvas 3 weeks later for tattoo number 2. In all, Dawn draws inspiration from the subject. Human Kanvas Sunridge has a great atmosphere and technicians. Highly recommend for not only the art but also the atmosphere.

Expérience fantastique: Came from Saskatchewan with my labrets done and stayed in Calgary, but a few days later, the back of my piercing (the flat piece inside my mouth) fell out randomly. I came to this place and the employees were very, very nice! Of course my piercing was a bit spicy, but she was very chill and professional, and talked my through it. If I ever lived in Calgary, I would definitely come here for future piercings!

Expérience négative: Went in to get some septum rings put in and she said “all done”, charged me, and I went home to realize I was being stabbed by 3 OPEN RINGS. So I had to take them all out myself, destroying them all in the process. Called them the next day and the chick who answered wouldn’t even let me finish my sentences, kept interrupting me to DENY it even happened (why would I lie? Seriously why) while saying she wasn’t even working yesterday. So how does she know?? she also wouldn’t rectify it in any way, blamed me for wrecking my jewelry with pliers (the piercer used pliers as well) and offered to “let me” come in to BUY ANOTHER 3 RINGS! Why would I support a couple of gaslighting, sloppy, unprofessional piercers a SECOND time? To waste more money? Or waste more time? No thanks there’s plenty of reputable piercers that aren’t totally rude and unprofessional. Worst of all, in denial about the whole thing.

Expérience fantastique: I just got 3 new piercings from Schantarra and I had the best experience! I've already been here multiple times and they've never let me down. Schantarra was so kind and welcoming, taking the time to look over my already existing piercings to plan out the 3 new additions. They helped me pick out multiple styles of jewlery and talked through which jewlery could work and different styles I could choose in order to make my whole ear look cohesive. When it came to placement they let me try out multiple spots to make sure I was happy. It was a great experience and I'm so happy with how my new additions turned out. Expérience fantastique: Tori did my “70’s retro” Sept of 23 and I need to share how many compliments I get, almost daily. People stop me on the street, customers mention it when they come through my till at work, one woman actually grabbed my arm (not suggested) at Pearl Harbour a few weeks ago and asked if it was a sticker. They always comment on the bright colours, the fact that it doesn’t have an outline in black - it’s just beautiful! I always tell people who the artist is and where the shop is hoping more business will come your way. I also want to mention that Chris did an amazing job on my daughter’s T1D medical tattoo. Chris knew the correct way to create a legit medical tattoo that would be noticed by a medical team if ever needed.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been going here for 3 years! I got a bad small tattoo at another shop and so we emailed and were paired with Tori. She not only covered my old tattoo but turned it into something I love! All 3 of the tattoos I have, have been from her now. She’s absolutely phenomenal and loves what she does. Expérience fantastique: About a month ago I went in for a impromptu piercing at a different place. My usual place is Human Canvas. However, my girlfriend and I were getting our nails done, and there was a piercing shop right across. We decided to go get one on in the spur of the moment. Needless to say my piercing never healed, and became very painful. I went back to the shop. They told me it wasn't infected and they wouldn't help me. After about three weeks of excruciating pain , I decided to put my tail between my legs and go to Human Canvas. I told Schantarra what had happened. She was beyond kind and welcoming to me and told me that she would fix me up. She took a look at it and said the piercing place pierced me with a way too small of a bar. Therefore when it swelled, the back of the earring grew into my ear and the back hole was closing around it. She was extremely gentle during the process. As soon as she got it out, I was instantly relieved. Also during this appointment I decided to get another conch piercing. She helped me with placement and also jewelry choice. She was very knowledgeable and helped me with the perfect fit for my ear. The piercing process itself was very smooth and relaxing. With all the grief from the other place , I honestly felt like Schantarra was an angel sent from above! I can not say enough good things about Schantarra and Human Canvas. This was a lesson, no impromptu piercing unless it is from Human Canvas. Thanks for taking care of me!

They were fully booked, but they managed to squeeze me in between clients which I really appreciated! Schantarra was amazing from start to finish. Expérience fantastique: I just had my second lobe piercings done at human kanvas about a week ago and I can not stress enough about how the staff there were amazing. It was my first time ever getting more piercings than what my parents had given me as a child. I was nervous and a tad bit scared but once I got to meet the people there my worries just faded away. The chillest people I have ever met. Schantarra, my piercer that day was spectacular, she walked me through the whole process of getting my piercing and how to take care of it. She also made sure I was doing okay after getting them done. If I ever decide to get another piercing I would undoubtedly come back to human kanvas.

Made me feel super comfortable, answered all my questions in detail, clarified some misunderstandings (that I had, not anything between us), and in general made the experience fantastic. Tori did my tattoo and I couldn't be happier with how my memorial looks!! When you have a fur baby in your life for 19 years, you want to keep a part of them with you forever, and Tori helped me with that. Schantarra redid my nose piercing (I'd had to take it out for surgery, and never put it back in). It looks fantastic, and I'm super happy to have it again. Desk staff helped answer some questions and choose the right jewelry for my piercing. They were efficient, and helped allay the concerns I had. Edit - FYI, I was so happy with how everything looks, I went back for a second tattoo!! I now have some beautiful little rainbow hearts on my right forearm. I am an ally to the Alphabet Mafia and am so happy to be able to show I am a safe person for them.

Expérience négative: First of all, don’t expect basic respect unless your spending an absurd amount of money. I went in with a friend, my friend was getting 2 tattoos and I was getting one, long story short all three tattoos are god awful. We got a matching dagger and the lines are so uneven and crooked it genuinely looks like a kid did it. She went WAY to deep and when it was healing plasma came up to my skins surface and became yellow on top of the smeared black ink she covered half my thigh in. But the artist decided she would replicate the mistakes she made on one to the other, i kid you not she purposely did a tattoo sloppy cause thats their idea of customer service? Also none of these tattoos are bigger then 2 inches and the total was $470, didnt even take an hour. We got treated disrespectfully from the second we walked in, the shop was completely empty and that should have been the first give away. I wouldnt even recommend this place for trash tatts.

Expérience fantastique: Second time I've been here and both times I've had really good experiences. Have had a couple of piercings done at this location as well. Staff is always very friendly and helpful, and is willing to price things out for you in advance to make sure it fits within your budget. The cost of the jewelry here is expensive $70-80/piece but WORTH IT - its high quality and the shine on the gems lasts forever, they also come with a warranty for damage. The piercer today helped me put in the new jewels and was super sweet :)

Expérience fantastique: My fiance and I got septum piercings from Schantarra. It was a great experience for both myself, a novice to getting pierced, and my fiance who has more experience with it. She helped us both pick out some beautiful jewelry that would work with our metal sensitivities and the piercing itself was virtually painless. The studio itself was clean and tidy. She really took her time to make sure we were comfortable and that we had the proper education for aftercare and placement. Expérience fantastique: I was gifted a tattoo for my birthday and I must say it was the best tattoo experience I've had to date (already having 8 tattoos) and over 2 decades. Tori was my artist, and she pre planned the appointment with my wife to do a water color design fill-in for a tattoo I already have. (Lego Spider-Man) I was greeted nicely by the staff and Tori went over the design with me. I requested one small addition which she happy obliged on the spot. The space was incredibly clean and welcoming. There were a few others in the studio but it wasn't loud at all. Tori had her art work all over the walls and it doubled down on my confidence in having her as my artist. The tattoo was near painless, as it was on my forearm, but that would be different for everyone. Tori was excellent in checking in on my comfort and asking if I needed to stretch or adjust my arm. Conversation was easy and filled the entire appointment. I've never had that with another artist. It made the experience that much greater. I would highly recommend Tori as an artist and Human Kanvas as a hub for getting your tattoos. Especially Tori if you are a fan of water coloring! I will definitely be returning as a long term customer to continue my sleeves.

I absolutely love the 2 tattoos I got done she was also kind enough to touch up one of my other tattoos for me. my friends tattoo is so well done as well. Expérience fantastique: Thank you Brooke and Symone for being so lovely and helpful! Brooke removed two of my 14 year old dermals and I am so glad I went to see her. She was incredibly patient and gentle with my stubborn anchors. I feel this process would have been twice as painful anywhere else. The incisions she made are very small despite how large my old anchors were, I think scarring will be minimal!

My appointment was at 12:30, and I came in a little bit earlier and she was able to take me in right away, which I really appreciated. They have so much jewelry to choose from, the one I chose was a little bit on the pricier side, but it’s great quality!! The building was very welcoming and clean, and the staff were amazing and answered all my questions. I was a little nervous about getting pierced at human Kanvas just because I’ve never been there before, but I would definitely recommend going there if you are looking for a piercing place:)

Expérience fantastique: I’ve had three piercings done by Kaily, and one tattoo done by Dawn, and I’m hugely satisfied with all. I’ve become convinced that Kaily is the only one I’ll let pierce me anymore… she’s an absolute babe, and takes such good care of you. I’ve never had a single issue with my piercings from her, and they’re always done to perfection. Dawn did one of my tattoos and it’s one of my best ones to date. The lines are very defined and clear, it healed immaculately. I love the vibe of this shop and the convenience. It’s just the best, guys. If you need ink or piercings… this is the place to go!

Expérience négative: I got my 1 year old daughter's ears pierced at this place and I must say I am extremely disappointed with the outcome. I spent close to $400 and I don't feel like my business was appreciated (first visit back in April included cost of piercing + earrings and then went back in May to buy gold earrings and those alone costed $200!) The placement of the earrings are uneven and too far back on her ears. I expected the piercing to be a bit closer to her face. Also, the second pair that I bought (the gold earrings) fell out on three different occasions. The first time it happened I actually found the earring and backing so I was able to put it back in her ear. The second time the actual earring fell out and got lost so I went back to the store to complain and they were nice enough to offer me a single earring free of charge but the kicker is that I had to drive all the way to Airdrie to get it!!! Then the earring and backing fell out again today so I called them again to figure out why this keeps happening. The quality of the gold earrings is absolutely terrible and if I knew this I would have never spent $200 on the pair! So when I spoke to them today, they said there was nothing else they can do since they already offered me a complimentary single earring a couple weeks ago. Not once did I ask her to give me more free jewelry but it would have been nice if they even offered a discount off another pair. When I suggested that to her, it was not even an option. So I took my business elsewhere. So disappointed with the customer service!!!!!!

Expérience fantastique: I had my first tattoo done by Dawn during the Red Deer tattoo show, it was honestly a great experience from start to finish. I was super nervous at the beginning and Dawn made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I honestly couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Also, everyone I spoke to at the booth were absolute gems. Hands down my favourite studio at the entire show and it looks like I'll be making quite a few more trips to Calgary now Cheers to a great studio with some really top notch artists, truly a cut above the rest!

I did both and not received a response. I'm sad everyone was so friendly but now that I'm having this issue, nobody can help.

Expérience fantastique: Big shoutout to Chris Stout at Human Kanvas Sunridge location. It was my very first tattoo and right from the first moment I meet Chris it was an amazing experience. She made me feel very comfortable and asked all the right questions. I found her to be very personable and inspiring, she knew how to put my thoughts and ideas into a design. As we worked through the first concept design she listened to me and made changes without any pushback. Chris was dedicated to making sure the design was perfect. On the day of my appointment Chris worked with me making sure it was in the correct position and made changes to suit me. Her workmanship is amazing. Line work and detailing was perfect. My tattoo is Trash Polka and she is definitely amazing at this. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone that is thinking about this design. On another note my wife and I had the chance to meet Dawn and Daniel who are also artists at the Sunridge location and they are both very personable people and a joy to be around. Thanks Chris for an amazing experience and a tattoo that I absolutely love!!!
