Expérience fantastique: I had four sessions in total for a lower back cover-up, and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was handled so professionally. I honestly felt little to no pain throughout the process — Dayo has such a light hand, which made a huge difference. Before every session, he would sit down with me, go over the updated sketch, explain the additions he made, and make sure I loved every detail. He always took the time to ensure everything was perfect and exactly how I envisioned it. With each session, I was more impressed than the last. The final result was absolutely phenomenal — better than I could have imagined. I can’t recommend Skull and Lotus enough. The whole team is incredibly talented and welcoming. My husband is also getting a full back piece done by Bodeen, and his experience has been just as amazing. Truly such a great shop all around!

He is professional and very down to earth, and has a passion for what he does. I enjoyed my session with him and loved the result of my Hannya mask! Don’t hesitate to go to him, I highly suggest it. I love the tattoo, the details are spot on!

Cant believe how stoked I am to look at his art on my arm forever. Also huge SO to Victoria who gave unreal customer service on the phone and via IG. For context I called about 4 places and Skull and Lotus was by far the friendlist and most welcoming/helpful. Not to mention the whole place and vibe was really cool and an overall great experience. My husband and I did the get what you get game it was so fun. Everyone is so friendly and talented here. My tattoos are healing SO easy and fast. Expérience négative: We went to the $100 tattoo Wednesday, and after taking my tattoo out of the second skin today I am very very disappointed. While getting the tattoos done we were told that our artist had only been tattooing for 10 months (we were never informed before the fact that she was an apprentice) and I feel that really shows in the crappy line work that I was able to notice without looking thru the second skin. Very upset that I will have to get many basic things like spots not being saturated and crooked lines fixed to have a decent tattoo. I would not recommend going here. I do not place a lot of the blame on the artist as she is new to tattooing but the shop should do better.

They healed perfectly and look wonderful. Personally, in tattoos I am picky and always looking for something small and dainty with fine lines. She nails it everything!! Superb experience , very friendly and made me feel comfortable as I haven’t been tattooed in almost 10 years and was about a bit nervous . Expérience fantastique: I had a great experience at Skull and Lotus with Rosi (@rositattos). The shop is clean and welcoming. Working with Rosi was easy and stress free and the tattoo came out exactly as I had hoped.

Expérience négative: I had to get 3/4 tattoos from Lisa redone by another artist, and effectively paid for the same tattoos twice. My 2 year old tattoos from Lisa, @jiggystackss healed pretty terribly, and my leg vine has honestly been a source of embarrassment. Thick, blown out, lumpy lines. I thought it was a fluke since she has such a social media presence, and went back to have the lines touched up and more added to the existing tattoos The "touched up" pieces were random and left the tattoo uneven after healing, the new pieces were either blown out, nearly invisible, or misshapen. Also had leaves added that don't match the existing piece in size or spacing. Her husband came over and mentioned a walk in appointment while she was working on my leg, and suddenly we were done. Very thankful I found someone to literally go over all of the tattoos from Lisa, sad that they had to be made so thick to correct the wonky and blown out edges. Probably will eventually black it out or have it removed. I'm sure Lisa does good work sometimes, but I feel she is someone who does not respect the fact she is permanently altering your body.

It was a special concept I had thought about getting for a while and her design was incredible and the finished tattoo is perfect, her lines are super clean and I love the shading. She put a lot of effort into making the tattoo fit in around my others and I appreciated all the time and effort she put into the entire process. Cannot recommend her more, I know I’ll be back! The studio itself is also great, comfortable waiting area and a great feel to it. Everyone was friendly, supportive and welcoming.

(Difficult cover ups, may I add). The studio is relaxing, and Sean makes you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the session. I’ve returned to their shop twice now to get two more pieces done by him. Each time has been an amazing experience. He’s always good to chat with and makes the tattoo process more enjoyable. The shop has a very unique atmosphere and everyone there is always friendly. They have an amazing little chill spot for you or any guests you bring along. Shoutout to Sherry who offered to give my friend and I a small stick-and-poke tattoo which both of us have been absolutely obsessed with since we took her up on the offer! Overall, incredible shop to get tattoos, fantastic service and great location. P.S. The new location is amazing! The interior is so much bigger and spacious. Expérience fantastique: I recently went to Skull and Lotus Tattoo to get a tattoo from @Jiggystackss. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the back part of the shop was how clean it was! Lisa was very patient and wanted me to make sure I was absolutely happy with size and placement. She was quick and, the whole time I was there, I could have taken a nap because I felt no pain at all. I love my ornamental tattoo and stars and I was so satisfied with the entire process. I will definitely book back in whenever her books open again!

I live out of town but the quality of work, the friendliness and the professionalism make it worth the drive and worth every penny. From the first time I walked in I was immediately greeted and felt very welcome. My experiences and interactions with everyone here have been so positive it makes the process super easy. My artist has been Stephen (eyeseedraws) and MASSIVE shout out to Stephen for the incredible work and designs he creates. I am obsessed with every piece he has done on me and I can't wait to have more of his amazing creations tattooed. As for all of the other artists that work here they also offer incredible pieces ranging in all different styles. This shop is truly the place to be if you are wanting to get a tattoo done. If you live in Calgary and haven't been here yet you are sleeping on it and missing out. If you live out of town it is 100% worth the trip. Expérience fantastique: I found Stephen's work on Instagram and instantly knew that I wanted him to do my very first tattoo. He created a beautiful piece from my reference photos and was even able to get me in a bit earlier than originally planned. I was definitely nervous leading up to my appointment but as soon as I entered the shop I was greeted and made to feel welcome. His skills was absolutely amazing with what I wanted and I've been going to him ever since. Everything from the shop's atmosphere to the people working there really made me feel comfortable getting work done there. Harryl always open to any idea and will work with me to make it happen. I always have an amazing time with him, he always chill and easy to talk to. It's basically getting therapy and getting tattoo, best thing all in one sitting. Expérience négative: I sat down with Jonathan for a sweet little Pokemon piece last week and his enthusiasm was infectious. Jon is clearly one of those people that is incredibly passionate about his work and it was an absolute treat to be able to bring the piece of art to life. While he's still an apprentice, his lines are clean and his dedication is clear. I cannot wait to see what else he comes up with! Bonus points to the shop for being immaculate and everyone being so super friendly. Edit: this tattoo actually ended up getting infected and had really bad blowout (which I addressed with the shop, but I did not get it fixed by them/him). To be fair to Jonathan, he was an apprentice when he did this piece but it was a very big disappointment for me.

I gave him free reign to design and choose the colors for my left arm sleeve.....and MAN he DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Amazing colors, insane custom design. I'm two days into a three day project and am INCREDIBLY happy with the results so far. His choice of colors and artwork is second to none!! Shop is super cool to hang out in, everyone working there is so friendly and made my two days of tattoo work comfortable and fun!! Expérience fantastique: I got my first tattoo here by Sherry. She was really nice and made sure I was always comfortable. I got it about a year ago and it’s already pretty much healed up, the lines are still dark and clean too.

Expérience positive: I had a tattoo done a few months back and to be completely honest I wasn’t happy with the experience… Don’t get me wrong the tattoo is amazing I love it now here’s my concern. I got a matching tattoo they’re small 3 little butterflies. Our appointments were at 12 and 1 we show up only one person allowed oh well no biggy, we paid a $100 deposit and we were told that if we were to go over our time we’d have to pay extra. Perfect we understood. The first tattoo took maybe 15/20 minutes she came out we loved it gorgeous my turn I went in there she put the stencil on, she asked me if I liked it I said yes she proceeded, there was not ONE word of communication during it. This being my first tattoo I was nervous and that would have helped. But oh well I pushed it off. After the tattoo I was told I had to be another $140 dollars because I went over my time. MEANWHILE we were both out of there by 1pm I paid the extra and instead of giving me back my change so I could tip what was fair he kept the “25.00” in his hand and said I’ll give this to her (my tattoo artist) I would have been happy to give her even more of a tip because regardless of how there was no communication I loved the tattoo. I left and was happy about the tattoo but not happy about the experience. Please don’t take this as a complaint but a reason to see improvement in the way a tattoo experience should be and the way the communication could be better. Anyways it’s about 6 months later and the tattoo still looks great!

Expérience positive: Really nice inside!! Lots of space, comfort lobby area. Small vendors to check out, with some pretty neat stuff. My tattoo artist was Sherry, listened to what I wanted, payed attention to detail. Needed a few touch ups really fine lines. Ended up being pretty expensive with touch ups .

Expérience fantastique: Me and my best friend impulsively decided to get matching tattoos! We called last minute and Pablo managed to squeeze us in! The tattoo shop itself is quirky and fun, lots of artists work and things for sale to look at whilst you wait. Pablo I’d not only an excellent artist but also super nice and a chill dude to talk to! He did an amazing job with our tattoos! Will Definitely be using him again in the future

Expérience fantastique: This was my first tattoo and I had a design in my mind and, Jonathan just perfectly knew what I had in mind and did a stellar job. The infrastructure itself is also amazing and it’s really cool that they appreciate local art and merchandise and choose to display it. My artist, Jon, was a master at his craft. There were some painful moments not going to lie but in the end when you have a maestro who knows what he’s doing, time goes by really quick. He’s an amazing person and artist and I will say this definitely won’t be my last tattoo at this place. 5/5

Expérience fantastique: I had a couple tattoos on my arm that were done by a different artist, previously, and wanted to get a sleeve done. Boeden messaged me and I had a consultation the next day. Fast forward a few weeks later and he finished it up for me in one day. It turned out better than I have envisioned. Quite happy with it. Boeden is very talented and extremely professional. I was impressed with the shop and would highly recommend going to see any of the artists.

Expérience fantastique: My tattoos were all done by Sherry Maa. She is the best! Not only an amazing tattoo artist, but also funny, polite, sweet and open to new ideas. Also I spent enough time in the studio to see the work of the other artists: top notch. On top of that the environment is amazing. When I go there, I honestly have a lot of fun. Expérience fantastique: I had my first anime tattoo done here by Jonathan. I was referred to him through a friend of mine who also had work done by him. The place is clean and welcoming. Jonathan is a cool dude, he was patient with my needs, and did not hesitate to show me his tools to confirm cleanliness. As being my first tattoo session, I appreciate the aftercare support he has given me, very attentive individual. My tattoo finished under the estimated time which is also a plus. I am about 5 weeks in the healing process and I can say with confidence my tattoo healed nicely. Jonathan is your man when it comes to anime tattoos. I'm actually scheduled to see him again on the first week of February to get another Bleach piece done :) February update: Great tattoo work once again. I'm pretty happy. Many thanks!

Getting tattooed by Jasper was a really wonderful time, they were very kind and easy to talk to. This was my 9th tattoo, and definitely one of the most comfortable experiences I had. Not only did I feel comfortable in the position they had me in, but comfortable in having my body permanently inked by them. Jasper was very careful with the design, and took their time to ensure a wonderful piece. As well, all staff members were friendly, and the studio was very clean!! 10/10 would recommend!!!

Expérience fantastique: Favourite place for my tattoos in Calgary! Everyone working here is awesome & super friendly. I see Lisa for all of my tattoos because I think her/her work is so so beautiful. The sweetest human in the world, she is a ray of sunshine. She has been the easiest to be tattooed by, I love how opened she is during the whole experience. Everyone at Skull and Lotus makes you feel super comfortable and they treat you with such kindness. I never have had a bad experience. Their shop is super clean, cozy & fun to be at. Expérience fantastique: Lisa is the absolute BEST!! She is such a sweetheart and always checked to see if I was okay! I'm a type one diabetic and I was a little worried about the healing since I was getting a bigger size tattoo. It healed in less than 2 weeks and turned out BEAUTIFULLY. I can not recommend her enough and will only be going to her!!
