Fantastic experience: I had not had a tattoo before but was wanting something meaningful to mark a big life transition. Ciel listened to my ideas and incorporated my important elements into an inspirational and beautiful piece. I dozed off during the process and it has been quick to heal. Love it!

Fantastic experience: I got a tattoo at Tattoo 34 this past weekend and it was a wonderful experience! It was my fourth tattoo but my first time at Tattoo 34. My sister and I had coordinated a time with Ciel to come in for matching tattoos. He was so incredibly friendly and helpful with ensuring we got exactly what we were after - checking out different sizes and orientations. :) The shop is so gorgeous as well and I felt very comfortable the entire time I was there. Looking forward to going back!!

Fantastic experience: This place is great! I’m not a very experienced tattoo-getter, and I was made to feel really comfortable here from scheduling online to my experience in the studio. I got tattooed by Sham! I got one tattoo originally and ended up going back a month later for another one that complements the first one. Sham took tons of time to make sure I liked the design and placement and fully realized my vision. Update: I went back for my 3rd tattoo from Sham and I'm obsessed. I love it so much! She fully brought my vision to life.

Fantastic experience: I love my tattoo by Sierra Luna! She gave me exactly what I was hoping for and the experience was excellent. She was very responsive! She met with me for a consult a couple of months before the tattoo and drew a sketch of the tattoo design while we talked. On the day of the tattoo, she showed me the design and was totally open to a few small changes - only a small change was needed since she had done such a good job of listening to what I wanted. The tattooing itself went very well. She was very focused and has excellent technique. She was great about me taking short breaks during the process. The tattoo healed perfectly with no problems at all. I am planning to return to Sierra for my next tattoo!

Fantastic experience: The folks at tattoo 34 are incredible! Me and my 2 friends did a random walk in for matching tattoos and they accommodated us like we were family ❤️ We were visiting from Canada and on a time crunch to get these tattoos done. Toby, Sham and Ciel set up three tables and inked us all at the same time. The experience they gave us was amazing and truly an 10/10. Fantastic experience: Great experience with Hanam Mun. Works with you creatively, great time during the session, and responds well to questions. And of course, absolutely amazing artist.

Negative experience: Eyebrow tinting resulted in severe chemical burns. I booked a consultation for brow tinting with Zuri. During the consult, and on the intake paperwork I said MULTIPLE times that I have contact dermatitis, that I am allergic to dyes and chemicals. I asked about her products, she said that her products are "henna" and "eu compliant". Since she insisted that her product was henna, and I use henna exclusively to dye my hair, plus I've announced my severe allergy 6 times during 15 minutes, I felt she was applying a product that was only henna. It wasnt. After the chemical reaction started to Cook on my face, i asked her to list the ingredients in the product she used on me and it was ALL CHEMICALS, with the minor ingredient being henna. It's been 5 days, I have reached out to Zuri for assistance and her response has been "she's traveling," "her products are eu compliant," to try a "cold compress" which actually makes reactions more severe, and that she wanted me to have a positive experience. It's been 5 days, the chemical reaction will last 4-6 weeks, this morning my eyes are so swollen almost shut, all photos provided to Zuri, to which she has remained silent, that I have to make a trip to the ER. I doubt Zuri will magically find some integrity, she hasn't even offered to refund the $50 I paid for this nightmare this has the potential to blind me, in addition to burn the skin off of my face and ñegatively impact my life for at least the next 4-6 weeks. Instead she will just assure clients who have been quite clear in their communication, that her decade of experience and want for $50 is far superior to their legitimate health concerns.

Fantastic experience: Sarah is an amazing artist. Her attention to detail is exceptional. I've got a few tattoos from her so far and all were exactly what I envisioned. Especially my dog Tootsie which is perfect. You can see how she translated the picture in amazing detail. I'm working on an arm and leg sleeve with her currently and they're both going to be amazing as well. The shop is great, very clean and professional. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: This place is an awesome spot to get work done. I’ve worked with two different artists here, and both were super professional, kind, knowledgeable, and really talented. I especially can’t recommend Sarah enough. I’m not new to tattoos, but Sarah was the first artist who really took the time to explain the pros and cons of using color and how it would work with my skin tone. She walked me through shading, gradients, and how time can affect how a tattoo ages—which really helped me feel confident in the design choices. During the session, she was super attentive to how I was feeling and checked in regularly to make sure I was doing okay. That kind of care is something I’ve only experienced at this shop. The final piece she created totally captured what I was going for, even though it ended up being different from the first image I brought in. I’m beyond happy with the result and would recommend this place to anyone.

She was kind and thoughtful, and let me have a silent appointment with my noise canceling headphones. My first session was smooth and I'm looking forward to my second! Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of having Micaeah Ramos as my tattoo artist! She was so welcoming and fun! I loved her energy! She is super communicative, she asked during the session if I was okay, and if I needed to to take a break. Not only that she checked to see if I liked the tattoo prior to it being finished and if I wanted anything different or added! This was a first and I loved it! She listened to everything I wanted and more! 10/10 will only be going to her from now on ☺️. We did a black widow!

Fantastic experience: This was my first tattoo and Hanam was my artist. He did an amazing job brining my concept to life beautifully and was open to making a couple of last minute changes to the design the day of. I also wanted to ensure I worked with an artist who had experience doing vibrant colors on brown/melenated skin and he delivered. The top picture was taken day of right after, the bottom picture (not the best lighting) is about 4 weeks after and mostly healed. I'm super happy with how it turned out and would definitely reccomend working with Hanam!

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo done here about a month ago with Sham and it was an amazing experience! Sham was so patient, considerate, and helpful as she worked with me. She explained everything she was doing and told me about every single needle change. Fantastic experience: I came in for their Walk in Sunday and was first up. Sham was absolutely amazing and has been the most considerate tattoo artist I have ever had. They let me know each time there was a needle change and that I would feel a difference. We went through a colored tattoo on the fly and Sham stopped each step of the way to let me check it out and give suggestions. I am 100% going to come back when I visit again.

I first met Nisha at an event I was hosting and knew her spouse would be the right fit. Fantastic experience: I recently got my second tattoo from Hanam at this location, and I only have good things to say. The location is very cozy, welcoming, and clean! Great spacious bathroom as well. Hanam is super considerate and will check in about both design and comfort through every step. He is very considerate with his clients, and he event made some last-minute design tweaks based on my other current pieces without my having to ask. Highly recommend!

The shop is great, and felt very homey. Hanam was happy to make a minor revision on the day of our session, and he was also very patient with us as we figured out the perfect placement. His work is beautiful, and it healed perfectly. Would definitely come back again!

Fantastic experience: Today was the first time I got to visit Tattoo 34. I’ve been a client of Hanam’s for a handful of years now — I’ve had all my tattoos done by him so far and fully committed to grow my collection of work. As someone who can be almost overly sensitive to their surroundings, I felt a little shy walking in for the first time, but was put to ease immediately as the shop had a very comfortable home-y feel to it. There were healthy plants in just about every corner of every room, and the aesthetic design was well thought out. It really felt like a cozy, upscale artist space that specifically catered to the guests’ comfortability. During my appointment, there was light energetic banter everywhere around us, and I even got to make friends with the neighboring artist and their client as well. It truly felt like everyone was friends, and I can definitely sense that the artists’ supported each other as well. The owners floated in and out of the store but was warm and welcoming, always making an effort to compliment the artists’ work and becoming familiar with the guests. All in all, my experience here has been nothing short of amazing and I’m happy that Hanam has chosen to make this place his new home for his artistry — it truly felt like I had spent the day hanging out with chill, kind friends and I got to walk out with yet another amazing piece of art. I can’t wait to come back, not for just another tattoo but to say hi to everyone again!

Fantastic experience: I had my very first tattoo with Toby and I'm glad it was with him! He was attentive and detail oriented and absolutely professional. He answered all my questions and was receptive to feedback as we worked out the final design. In particular, I really liked how he made suggestions regarding certain details that really helped bring the final piece to life. It's like he sees more than just the visual design of the piece, he can glimpse the soul of it, and that comes out as he's working. I'm immensely satisfied with the results and I'm so happy that my first tattoo experience was with him!

Fantastic experience: TOBY and TATTOO 34 are FABULOUS- 5 STARS!…. It was my first tattoo, so I had no idea what to expect. I showed up with a vague concept, and Toby had a great way of drawing out my ideas, and then adding to them. It was a very collaborative process that honored Toby’s masterful artistic instincts with my ideas. He has a ton of resources to draw inspiration from, which kept the creative process flowing. Most of all Toby is an extremely kind genuine person, a good listener, and clearly respected by all- as evidenced by all the other artists that asked to come in and take a look, hoping to glean some wisdom from his art, and his process.

Fantastic experience: Just got a small piece done on a walk-in Wednesday with Sham, and it was a surprisingly fantastic experience for how much pain I was in. Sham worked with me to get the design and layout just right and completely nailed the execution. Obviously tattoos hurt, and this one was no different, but the environment at Tattoo 34—from the aesthetics to the artists to the music to the other clients—made the whole process much easier to bear. I felt very welcome to experience my pain wholeheartedly and without judgment. And Sham's personality was a beacon from start to finish. Highly recommend this team and this shop to anyone in the Portland area looking to get a tattoo!

Fantastic experience: My best friend and I went to get tattooed together, we went during one of the walk-in Sundays - both of us are extremely satisfied with our tattoos and both our artists were so personable and sweet. If you live in Seattle, the drive to Portland is worth it since their walk-in prices are so reasonable when compared to Seattle studios.

Fantastic experience: Was out in the neighborhood with friends and saw the Walk-In Event sign. I am so happy that we decided to give this shop a try. Not only was everyone personable and knowledgeable, but the pricing was great. Aftercare instructions and follow up has been wonderful. Fantastic experience: Me, my brother, and my dad wanted a tattoo while vacationing in Portland. Tattoo 34 treated us so well with a last minute appointment on walk in day. The culture and atmosphere were amazing. I appreciate the after care emails and texts from Ciel. Will definitely come again when we come to visit!

Negative experience: Awful place to get a tattoo. I paid to have a tattoo done. Started out fine, but when I went in for my next session they informed me that the artist no longer works there. So am I just left with an unfinished tattoo? Ceil was very rude regarding my situation. He showed no sympathy or care about the incident. He told me that he would finish it but would treat it as a new tattoo, charging me all over again. I guess expecting me to pay twice for the same tattoo. He then stated that another option would be is to relay the original artists information to me so that I could get it finished by her. He never did so, instead canceling my appointment without warning and then dodging my calls. I've both called and texted many times and have received no response.. To share a bit of my experience and to show the differences in character between myself and the company, I was never charged initially and my first session was done prior to any payment. Upon finishing she made her way to the computer to charge me only to find out that the systems were down and could not accept payments. I could have very well walked out without paying a dime and never went back, but I am a man of my word and not a thief. I'm not that type of person. I went back the next day to pay. The tattoo is pretty much complete and only needs some color touch ups due to leakage from using second skin.. I was promised 2 free touch ups by the artist in a contract.. However, as I stated before she no longer works there. So instead of charging me a reasonable price to add some color that came out, (1 color, very simple. Just center no line definitions) Yes, Ceil wanted to charge me for a whole new tattoo and was rude about it. The company has been dodging me since. Way to treat people who show you loyalty!

Fantastic experience: Very clean and comfortable place to get tattooed. Hanam did both mine and my husband's ink, and we were both so pleased. He worked quite fast and he was very sanitary and considerate. I could tell he was listening carefully to what we wanted, even though we just popped in on a whim during their Sunday walk-in event. I got one of his flash pieces and my partner got a simple custom; Hanam went away for a little while to draw up the design, and when he came back, I could tell my partner was so excited about how it looked. They had various snacks for customers as well as a wated dispenser. I will definitely be coming back to this parlor again.

My initial session was AMAZING and completed most of the open space on my Sleeve. The follow-up session (free) was just as impressive, completing the previous project and lasting longer than I expected (the artist even suggested/was willing to do additional touch-ups on work she hadn't done!) My artist was Micaeah Ramos and she was The other artists I interacted with, too, were competitive in quality, each in their own specialties. The atmosphere was so relaxed and open that it opened it up for myself and the other customers to talk freely about our lives and tattoos (some quality therapy ). A little surprise when trying to find the place, as it's not yet boldly branded like most shops, but it seems to be the right of passage. ♥️

Fantastic experience: I love this shop. The environment is comfortable, clean, and laid back. The artists are extremely talented and are also just cool people. And I really appreciate that their values drive everything they do. My first tattoo here was a cover-up by Toby Linwood when the shop was still relatively new. He was able to pinpoint my style and then created a beautiful piece of work that strangers on the street are still constantly complimenting. A couple years later I was ready to come back in for a new design and wanted to work with Toby again. It did take a little while to get on his schedule (he's very in demand), but it was worth the wait to work with someone who's talented, who gets my style, and who cares deeply about their work. Nisha, who runs the business-y part of the shop, is warm and super communicative. From the time I first reached out until my tattoos were touched up and healed, I always knew exactly what to expect and what I needed to do. Just such an easy and enjoyable experience.

Fantastic experience: I'd been waiting to get tattooed by Toby for 2 years when I found him during a search for BIPOC tattooers/shops. So worth the wait! 10.5 hrs under Toby's needle was a breeze. It barely hurt, and the results are STUNNING. I'm so happy.

Fantastic experience: To say this experience exceeded my expectations is such an understatement. The shop is clean (rivals the cleanliness of a doctors office), has great natural lightening, and the staff I interacted with were warm and friendly. My appointment with Micaeah was terrific. She took the rough sketch of my tattoo and truly made it a work of art. Micaeah is incredibly talented and a great to work with. Fantastic experience: This gem of a shop is hidden in plain view on Hawthorne. I never knew it was even there. It's spacious and clean and everyone is very friendly. They have a great system for scheduling, checking-in, and even follow-up after your appointment which is a great touch. The most important thing is one of the most talented artists in the biz, Hanam inks there. His work is next level! Oh and their minority-owned too!

Fantastic experience: After looking in depth for a tattoo artist I wanted to work on me and I found Toby Linwood of Tattoo 34. It took a while to get in to see him (because he's brilliant) but I sensed it would be worth the wait. My experience was incredible. Toby listened to what I wanted and then I completely trusted him to work his magic. We went through some photos so he could get the feel of my design and then it was all him. And so impressive as he draws straight on the skin and then free styled a lot of it. I felt like I got to witness his creative process in action. The atmosphere was super relaxed. He followed my lead with regard to breaks and pauses, but honestly it wasn't nearly as painful as I imagined. We went over time, but he was focused and all in to finish it in one session if that's what I wanted. I met Nisha his lovely wife and his son, and other tattoo artists. The whole studio felt like it was a family affair. So chilled and inviting. We had some great conversations and I learned about Toby's indigenous roots and some of his traditions and love of tribal art. My experience couldn't have been better. AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my tattoo and love having the Oregon coast on my body. I'm already thinking about my next one! I can't recommend Toby and Tattoo 34 highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I went in on a Sunday right when they opened, and I was greeted and helped by Sarah. She did a fantastic job on creating my vision and executing it so quickly and easily. I started as a walk in customer and came out a future regular customer. I’ll def be coming back for my next one (with an appointment I’m sure). Fantastic experience: I discovered Tattoo 34 on a Wednesday morning and that afternoon I came in for Walk-In Wednesdays with an idea of what I wanted and a few inspiration pictures. Ciel helped me hone in on an exact image/style I was looking for, then designed a custom tattoo for me on the spot in about 20 minutes. It is absolutely perfect, better than I could have ever imagined. The tattooing experience itself was basically just an hour long meditation. Super good vibes from him and the space in general. I'll be back for sure.
