Fantastic experience: Just finished a session with Carrie at Family Business Tattoo. She completed my full back piece after five sessions, and it’s unbelievable. From the very first consultation to the final touches, she was professional, patient, and incredibly detail-oriented. The amount of care and precision she puts into her work really shows — every session built perfectly on the last, and the finished piece is insane. Carrie also did my chest piece a few years ago, and it’s still one of my favorite tattoos. Her work heals well and I continue to get compliments all the time. She has an incredible eye for design and placement, and she really takes the time to make sure everything flows with your body. The shop itself is awesome — clean, welcoming, and run by great people. The whole process, from booking to the final session, was smooth and enjoyable. If you’re looking for high-quality work and an artist who genuinely cares about her craft and her clients, Carrie is it. If you’re in San Diego and you need work done look no further family business is top 2 not 2.

Fantastic experience: Mariana has done the reconstructive tattooing of my aerola post surgery to make them match in size and color. Beautiful work! She’s so careful about privacy, preparation to minimize pain, and puts such care into such a sensitive/delicate area.

Fantastic experience: I had my first back tattoo session with Marianna. I only gave her loose design requests including "an American traditional back piece with a bulldog, a sacred heart, daggers, and roses" and her design actually blew me away. It's better than anything I could have hoped for. She was also very friendly and accommodating when it came to the tattoo session. She works very fast (while not sacrificing attention to detail). I sat for about 4.5 hours of actually tattooing which was about all I could handle and she managed to make a ton of progress in that time. I can't wait to go back to keep adding to the piece and filling it out! Update session 2: I got the bottom 3rd of my back colored/shaded in for session 2. I love the shading, it’s a big bold saturated sticker like traditional tattoo. This spot was an especially painful area for me and Marianna worked with me using numbing spray that really worked and helped me sit for ~5 hours (I don’t know if I would have made it 1 hour without it). She gave detailed after care instructions and an healthy supply of second skin for healing. Incredibly excited to keep filling it in and seeing the final piece.

Two birds killed with one stone today, Acupuncture Treatment & a Tattoo...a rare combination. There truly is a familial embrace that envelops you as you enter & remains as you stay. I'm ever so grateful for this beautiful experience, it was a true blessing in disguise. Definitely will be returning when the time comes again... OBRIGADO!!

I couldn’t be more pleased with her design, the experience, and the results! Not gonna lie— I struggled during the appointment because this was my first time larger tattoo in a tough area (over the collar bone). Carrie was very professional and understanding. She was patient with me and took her time to give me an amazing tattoo. The shop offered snacks during my visit and the vibes were awesome. The shop is clean, professional, and available for follow up questions after your appointment. It’s been almost a month and I have had no issues, redness, or irritation. Thank you for everything! Fantastic experience: Bobbi was absolutely incredible! I just lost my greyhound, Mila, she passed away a couple days ago and I’ve been in so much pain. I knew I needed to have her on me forever. When I walked into this tattoo shop I was pretty emotional and Bobbi was the perfect person for the job. Not just her but everyone in the shop felt like family. They were so supportive and kind. Fantastic experience: This shop is well rated for a reason, I showed up on the summer solstice around the time they opened with my wife, my 2 oldest children and my grandson, and they re-arranged there schedule (and shop) to accommodate. We all recieved tattoos (including a temporary tattoo for my grandson) from Bobbi and Mariana, who were both very wonderful, calming, assuring, and professional. The price was right on point and being the last day of our family vacation before heading back to Las Vegas they made it memorable and special. I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know. Even prior to choosing an artist I had trouble because while everyone has their own style, they all have incredible skill. However, I was looking for an ornamental tattoo and from what I saw. It seems that Mariana and Carrie are very skilled in that. No matter what you’re looking for, this is the place. Family Business Tattoo has very attentive, approachable, and professional artists that will ensure you are happy with the final results and that you are comfortable throughout the entire process. Pricing is fair. What you get is what you pay for and I would never dare cheap out on a tattoo. These guys are quality so in turn you pay for just that and it was worth every penny for me. Ive been to a few shops in SD already and these guys are definitely on the top of my list. I can’t wait to go back and finish up my sleeve ☺️

Negative experience: Yasser did a great job of designing my tattoo and applying it to my skin. It wasn’t until the tattoo was done that he charged me $100 more than he quoted me. He leaned in and lowered his voice and I should’ve made him write the total down. My mistake cost me $100 and him a tip

Her expertise got me to exactly where I want with my sleeve and her consistent and absolutely crispy clean line work will keep me coming back and referring everyone I know to this shop! There are several artists who I saw complete tattoos while I was there, you cannot miss with any of the artists they are all so incredibly talented with different styles so you can almost guarantee you will find your artist match. WE LOVE FBT!

Fantastic experience: Came on a whim to get Friday the 13 tattoos and was not disappointed! Not only were the designs (and prices) incredible but ALL of the staff was terrific. They were very friendly and helpful, had snacks, water and chairs out for people to wait. Best of all was Mariana, who put an amazing peony on my leg. She made sure I was comfortable, liked the placement, even got on the floor TO DO the placement. I couldn't be an happier with my experience

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of meeting Mariana to have her add to an existing tattoo on my forearm. I wanted her to add some color and feminize it a little bit, to make it some thing that brought me joy and is a reminder of my journey in life. She also added a small tattoo of a lotus on my wrist. I absolutely love my lotus and the existing forearm tattoo is now so pretty and brings me a smile every time I look down at my forearm. Mariana took her time and explained everything to me, drew up some artwork for me to approve prior to beginning the tattoo and made sure I was satisfied with the placement. After the stencil was applied for the lotus we moved it around and she made sure I was going to be happy with the placement. Mariana communicated with me every step of the way, from the time I initially reached out, to the consultation, and then to confirm our appointment. Fantastic experience: Want your first tattoo or just to add to your collection? This is definitely the place to go!! I am amazed how easy and painless this was for me to receive my FIRST tattoo. I am from Oregon and was only visiting briefly, but Mariana was able to get me in right away and was also very quick to respond to my initial inquiry. I most definitely recommend this place! All the artists seem amazing and passionate in what they do, you will not be disappointed no matter what.. however, Mariana will especially not let you down! She was attentive and made me feel extremely comfortable! I love this place and definitely plan to continue coming here for future ink.
