Fantastic experience: Leo is a true professional and a gifted artist. My brother and I got coordinated tattoos for which we had a tall order: similar concept but totally different styles. Leo created two incredible and unique designs and executed them perfectly. Our tattoos healed flawlessly and it was a pleasant experience all around. Can’t recommend this guy enough! Couldn’t ask for a better first tattoo experience

Fantastic experience: We had such an amazing time with Anna. We flew into San Diego for the Susan G Komen walk for the weekend and wanted to get matching tattoos. Not only did Anna’s reviews make our decision to come to funhouse tattoo shop our first choice but she was so responsive, she was great at communicating, she was patient and flexible with our schedule as we were constantly changing due to weather and other factors. We would highly recommend funhouse tattoo and Anna to anyone. Her talent, skills and personality made the whole time enjoyable. Fantastic experience: I booked artists “Leo Cadenazzi” for an appointment on August 2nd, 2025 for a 5 inch wide by 7” negative space cross enshrouded by skulls and roses. Leo specializes in this, and is one of the senior, highly desirable artists at this studio so it took me over a month to even get through the door. His pricing was more than fair, borderline a bargain given his massive talent and renown. The stencil he created was spot on with the references I sent him, and when I arrived at the shop he was smiling and ready to go. His easygoing demeanor was affable, and his expert consultation on placement, especially after telling him the other pieces I would be getting in the same area was excellent and probably saved me a huge headache in the future. The shop was clean, calm, and not totally covered in gore and nudity as is the norm for most tattoo parlors, which I appreciated. Leo powered through close to 4 hours from start to finish and completed the piece with blazing speed and efficacy. Any novice or intermediate artist might have taken double the time. The payment and waiver process was a breeze, and other artists there were professional and cordial. I drove 45 minutes one way to get to Funhouse Tattoo in Pacific Beach, and waited a month to secure Leo’s services. Worth every penny and every second, couldn’t be happier.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience at this shop! Anna was my artist and I honestly can’t say enough good things about her. She took a half-baked reference idea I brought in and turned it into a one-of-a-kind piece of art on my forearm. Super talented, easy to talk to, and just really made the whole process enjoyable from start to finish. The price was more than fair, and the vibe was super chill the whole time. If you’re thinking about getting work done, I can’t recommend Anna enough—she’s phenomenal.

I am also planning on getting my back and left arm sleeve eventually and I know I want Leo to continue working on my future tattoos! Great guy great artist!. Just beautiful. They were ecstatic to see, incredibly happy. They can't "wait to draw more." Slaine was my artist. He was kind and welcoming. The banter was great! Slaine was VERY patient with me. Friendly staff and collection pieces on display that gives artistic ambience throughout each tattoo artists’ station. Slaine is my tattoo artist. He’s definitely one of the best artists I’ve had that delivers beyond expectations. Overall, this place is perfect for first time tattoo buyers, and to meet incredible tattoo artists.

Fantastic experience: My friend and I walked into Funhouse Tattoo as walk-ins, and I’m so glad we did. I had an amazing experience with Slaine as my tattoo artist! He did a phenomenal job on my tiger tattoo, as well as the 224 numbers, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. He was incredibly sweet and understanding throughout the whole process and even stayed past closing time to make sure my friend and I were finished. Fantastic experience: This was and is to be my first and last tattoo. I wasn’t necessarily nervous, but Leo went out of his way to explain the whole process and what to expect. His easy going and professional demeanor makes you feel comfortable right off the bat. The work is beautiful and, if I were to get another tattoo (which I’m definitely not!), I would go to Funhouse again and ask for Leo.

Fantastic experience: Hunter gave me mY Y (xyz) tattoo I’ll never forget the moment, I was a little nervous so I had a drink and some sushi on the other side of the street. Some weird girl was starring at me like a hawk so I actually asked her out and asked if she’d be interested in seeing my tattoo after it was finished, she basically called me crazy and said chill out; I walked away and low and behold hunter was sitting on the bench smoking a cig probably saw the whole altercation. We shared a smoke and awesomely listened to each others problems and he tatted me up; about 2 years later I came back looking for him while he was on vacation and luckily some other awesome guy tatted me up. He has a great eye for incorporating black and white realism work and emphasizes the details through everything. His work is wonderful, even though what I wanted wasn’t in his usual style he still took the time to give me a beautiful tattoo and he was very nice and light handed. Negative experience: I want to start of by saying I actually loved this place for my previous work (done by Leo), but my most recent visit was pretty bad. I recommended a friend to this place because I wanted to show my appreciation. He walked in, met Anna and she was willing to take on the tattoo. Over back and forth texts with my friend, she pass the work to another artist named Brandon because she wouldn't have time. Brandon did great work on the first part of the chest tattoo but after this, continuously postponed on my friend for about two weeks. My friend even mentioned that he was aggressive through texts because he wanted small touch ups for being postponed constantly. I won't be going to Funhouse anymore. Too much postponing, and I wouldn't want my work done by someone who got aggressive with me over text. My friend will be finishing his chest work elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I did lots of research and decided on Funhouse Tattoo. The place is really top notch. I picked Brandon to do some really cool lettering work. He is very talented & a cool guy, He even touched up some old tattoos and I couldn’t be more stoked. Highly recommend! -Mike

The prices vary based on artist but are very reasonable. I am 19 and this shop was my first tattoo expirience, yet I never felt intimidated! They’re not like other places that charge you a band for a small portion of your forearm that was unfinished and didn’t heal properly because the artist is heavy handed *cough* (SD Tattoo). Don’t go there go to Funhouse. Already got a full half sleeve that was under $1k and I love it. Definitely my permanent to go tattoo place for as long as I’m in San Diego.

Fantastic experience: I got a tattoo here about a year or two ago and I feel so bad that i dont remember the guy who tattooed me but he was very nice. Especially because i think I was a walk in. I got a fine lined lotus flower on my back and he was very patient with all my twitching. The tattoo is also holding up very well. Now that I'm back in the area I'll definitely be going back!
