I worked with Thomas Kenney, who was fantastic. He is personable, highly professional, and quoted a very fair price. I’m thrilled with the results—as you can see in the photos, the line work is incredibly crisp and the typewriter font is perfectly executed. Fantastic experience: Was in Pittsburgh for work and this place was 350 feet from my hotel so I thought "ah what the hell." I went in as a walk in and they were so excited to have me! I told them I had no ideas and was interested in a flash design, so they let me take my time combing through and their artists have GREAT designs so it was a difficult choice. Ultimately, I ended w a little fairy bunny and Tito was the one who tattooed my leg and he was GREAT! Super gentle, professional, and I really enjoyed hearing some of his life story bc he a VERY interesting tattooing story! I love my bunny so much that I named him Darling Tito, so thank you Tito for everything! My bunny is healing great and the lines are SO crisp and clean :) In case you couldn't tell, tattoo parlors are some of my favorite places ever bc the people that work in them are incredible and the team here is certainly no exception. Would ABSOLUTELY go back to get more flashes The tat is probs 4 x 3 inches, took about 40 minutes and cost $100 which I think is very fair

Fantastic experience: My friend and I were in town this past weekend for a concert and wanted to get tattoos. I found the Pittsburgh Tattoo Company on instagram and saw a tattoo from their Halloween flash I wanted. Our experience could not have been better! I actually ended up getting two tattoos because my first went so well! Laura gave me the cutest little skeleton guy, and was so friendly and professional. I then got a short quote from Thom, who was so personable and immediately made me feel at ease. Both constantly checked in during the tattooing to make sure I was doing okay, and everyone at the shop was just so lovely. Whether you live here or are just here for the weekend, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Fantastic experience: Laura has done two tattoos for me this year and I love them both so much! She was very honest about what to expect with the pain for both locations, which I appreciated even though I know all tattoos hurt to some extent. She also helped me decide on the location of the second tattoo and moved the stencil as many times as needed until we agreed on a good placement. She’s easy to talk to but also doesn’t seem to have an issue with a quieter session. Everyone that works there is friendly and the shop is super clean. I will be back to get more work done by Laura and always recommend her to others!

Fantastic experience: We came in wanting small tattoos, extremely last minute. Every person there was lovely and personable, but most of all extremely competent. They drew up a sketch that looked amazing and within an hour it was on our skin; both came out great. Shawn and Laura were the artists and I cannot recommend them enough. Fantastic experience: i have never rated any business on google, but my experience here was so outstanding that i felt compelled to comment. i got my eyebrow and conch pierced by Rev on tuesday. not only was he a relaxing presence, but he made jokes and built a comfortable environment during an otherwise stressful situation. he also knew what he was doing ! both piercings were smooth and relatively painless. i have had the piercings for three days now, and there has been no swelling, bruising, bleeding, etc etc. they look as though they’re already healed. 10/10 would go back, you can’t beat the two piercing tuesday deal ! thanks to everyone there for being kind and friendly !

Fantastic experience: I should've given this review so long ago but I'm ready to come back for a tattoo and piercing here. About 3 years ago I got My septum done and I was so scared it would hurt but this place got Me done quick in and out and 98% painless!! It healed well and I still love it today! I've never gone a day without My septum since I got it! Sorry I don't remember who did My piercing but I'm sure he had nice face tatts and a long beard. Thanks again Pittsburgh Tattoo Co. I'm planning to come back for a bday tatt and piercing

Negative experience: I came on January 21 when I came I showed two people in the front which one is the piercer the picture of what I want. I said I wanted to align with my tattoo when we got to the back he asked me again where I wanted it, I said I wanted to align with my tattoo And ask him for his expertise because he’s a piercer. I really didn’t know where it should go. I just wanted it to align with my tattoo when he did the markings. I asked my friend. She said it looks OK but still she is not the piercer he is said OK trusting him because I cannot fully turn around and see my lower back.Maybe it was my fault and I should’ve. Thoroughly explain But I felt he’s a professional, and it will come out like the picture I showed him and how explain to him and also asked for his help as a piercer. All day I was looking at how close they were and how it looked nothing like the picture nor aligned with my tattoo so today I called and talk to someone one the front desk into the Piercer after saying it might’ve been my fault but I wanted it to align with my tattoo and I showed a picture multiple times. all I was asking when I called today is if I had to wait to get it re-pierced because I knew they are messed up. He said I could’ve get the piercing anywhere it’s up to me and he can’t give out his expertise because it’s my piercing being very rude for no reason. After I took fault, even though I’m not the piercer and I’m not the one with experience. I wanted surface thermals, even if. I didn’t have a picture dermals are not this close together. I have not seen a picture on the Internet yet that has dermals this close together being rude after I’m being genuinely nice on the phone while I’m crying because I’m going to have to get it pierced again after I asked for a piercer’s expertise was uncalled for. He did say he would re-pierce it, but it was the fact he was being rude saying he asked me, even though I asked him because I didn’t know what would look right it’s like going to the mall and going to a store and asking the associate and them helping you it’s their expertise they would know better than me as someone who is not in that field

Fantastic experience: Hands down one of the best tattoo experiences I’ve ever had (and I have over 30 tattoos ) I’m visiting from Chicago and wanted a fun, small piece. Tom was available right away for the walk in. He was super friendly, obviously extremely experienced, and not to mention QUICK AS HELL! I was in and out in 30 minutes with the cutest rabbit tattoo on my arm. Every time I’m back in Pittsburgh and having the itch for a new piece, I won’t even think twice about where to go. Thank you Tom!!!

Positive experience: Went for a buy one piercing, get one free! Took about an hour for my turn but was informed that beforehand. The waiting room has six or so seats and the artists who greet you are very kind and professional. The artist who pierced me, I believe their name is Lizzy or Melissa maybe, was kind and talked me through a breathing exercise while I got my right nostril double pierced. My only gripe would be that the stencil beforehand did not compare to the piercing placement when the piercing was done. It was higher up on my nose and did not match up to my left double nostril piercings. I did tell them that I wanted the new piercings to mirror my old and I know they tried their best. I still like the piercings and would give them my business again in the future.

Positive experience: Had a lot of great recommendations here. I was very excited! However we got my daughter a tattoo that seeemed quite easy to follow; I have about 44 tattoos myself… The handwriting wound up off. I will say my daughter mentioned it looked off in the stencil, but when she asked, the artist said I was likely just lack of shading. If you have someone without experience going… go with them. It costed more than I’ve ever been charged for a tatto of that size and lack of shading….

Fantastic experience: Most underrated piercer there. He’s great. Really knows what he’s doing. I’ve had piercings before that get keloids and don’t heal right but whenever I’ve gotten pierced here they heal without any issues! Very impressed.

Negative experience: Went here for a Friday the 13th flash deal, got an artist who didn't introduce themselves whatsoever, paid and tipped for a tattoo that doesn't have an even outline or shading (suppose that's my fault for not looking closer) . However, the front of desk people were very nice and it was clean.

Fantastic experience: Got my center labret and septum done here during a Tuesday two for one sale in January. It was very quick and easy! Rev was great, gentle, and made getting these done a breeze!

Fantastic experience: Rev took care of my nostril piercing today. Rev also ran the desk, taking care of other clients are they waited for their tattoo appointments. I was a walk in and he immediately greeted me and ask what he could do for me. I told him about wanting a nostril piercing and he quickly grabbed the paperwork for me to fill out, after he showed me the options of jewelry that came with the price as well as other options. Once I chose, he took about 5 minutes to set up his station and walked me through the process. He was very kind and genuine, even when I asked for another placement. He told me exactly what to expect and everything went smoothly and quickly. He went through all the aftercare instructions and provided paper instructions as well as his contact information for any further questions down the line. Overall I really liked the shop, station was very clean and organized and I felt very comfortable with Rev, he seems very detailed and genuine in his work. Since I didn’t need to wait to get my piercing, I was in and out of the shop in about 10 minutes! I definitely recommend coming here for a piercing from Rev. *NOTE* Bring cash. They do have an ATM if you need it, they don’t accept card.

Throughout getting the tattoos done they’ll ask you if you’re okay and offer you water or even tell you that it’s okay to take a break. Fantastic experience: After undergoing neck surgery about a year ago, I was starting to feel insecure about my scar. My spouse spotted Thomas from PGH Tattoo Company on Instagram and passed him along, knowing his traditional style was right up my alley. Upon reaching out to Thomas, I was immediately refreshed by his honesty over his concerns with tattooing over such a fresh scar. He explained that there could be risks in the art getting warped as the scar continues to heal over the next year or so. With a neck tattoo being so front-and-center, I knew I didn’t want to risk that but was still eager to come up with a solution to distract from the scar. Thomas listened to my objectives and worked to create something that makes me feel a million times better about myself - and the art itself is beautiful. Thomas is talented and fast (always a bonus when working over sensitive areas)! We have plans to add to the design he created to complete the look and I cannot wait to get back in his chair to knock that out, among other future projects!

Negative experience: everyone at the shop is kind, the prices and deals are great, but i have received 3 piercings from this company and all three of them have had incorrect placement, resulting in two of them having to be removed. i went to have my bellybutton pierced and left with a surface piercing on my stomach which i had to remove. i went in to have my rook pierced, and asked if my ear’s anatomy was good for it and the piercer said yes… it then rejected and when i went to another piercer to get my other rook done they said it was too small and couldn’t be pierced. my septum piercing is the only one that currently remains, i got it in nov 2021 and it was my first experience at this shop. it has been 2.5 years since then, even though it healed perfectly the placement is far too low and not at all in the “sweet spot” for septum piercings. my nose is also slightly disfigured from the scar tissue being so low on my actual nose, and the jewelry pushing down on my cartilage. i can’t recommend that anyone go to this shop for piercings.

Fantastic experience: Traveled from the Detroit area several times to get tattoos from the amazing people here. I’m on tattoo number three- have one each from Tom, Aaron and Diane. All of the artists are incredible, friendly, fast and professional. Can’t recommend them enough for an A+ tattoo experience!

Fantastic experience: Incredible place to get tattooed, the entire staff is great, they’ve got phenomenal and friendly artists in a very clean and inviting space. I’ve been working on two half sleeves with Laura “Bearclaw” Bennington for the past few months and couldn’t be happier with her, or the results. She listens to my ideas (even the crazy ones) and creates custom designs that really fit me. If you’re looking for some kickass tattoos I HIGHLY recommend Laura!

I went to Pittsburgh Tattoo Company and I’m so glad I did. I got the pleasure of meeting Thomas Kennedy who tattooed me. He was so kind and attentive. I also got some jewelry changed as well but I did not get the piercers name unfortunately (sorry) but he was also very kind. It was a dope shop and the artists and staff made it even more dope! TLDR: Dershaw moved to Black Horizon Tatttoo, so if you want a similar experience to mine go there instead of here and ask for Liss. ***************************************************************

Positive experience: THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY (you will be charged $3 at their atm. I was charged $3 3 times because I had to keep starting over so keep that in mind.. pretty freaking annoying) I did the buy one get one piercing deal last week, that they have on Tuesdays, which is an awesome deal! Thank you guys for that. The piercer was cool.. however I didn’t get to even pick my jewelry lol. he put in a horseshoe shaped jewelry in my tongue web which I knew would cause problems and I told him that before I left but he said it had to be done with that and wouldn’t change it?? I’ve only even known people to put in curved barbells but whatever. Long story short I ended up needing to order a curved barbell because the horse was constantly rubbing my gums behind my lower teeth causing so much pain. I also got my Tragus done and it started hurting a few days ago… why, you ask? Because the jewelry he put in was way too shot not allowing room for swelling . Sigh

Fantastic experience: I had my first tattoo done this past weekend by Mikey at Pittsburgh Tattoo Shop. I'm a little older, 41, and had always thought about getting a tattoo but had never really had anything I wanted to get tattooed on me. My mother passed in January and I decided to get her favorite flower, lilacs, tattooed on my shoulder. Mikey took my inspiration photos and designed something for me and we decided on something bigger than I originally thought I wanted since it's was first. I sat for 5 hours for a colored lilac peace in my right shoulder. I can't tell you happy I am with the shading, the color and the final product. Even from a healing standpoint when I took my bandage off I had minimal pain and bleeding. It turned out beautifully. Ihighly recommend him and my husband is going back in a few weeks to have work done on a sleeve he started a long time ago.

Fantastic experience: I went into the shop today in hopes of getting a floating navel piercing and left SO happy with the results! Liss gave me one of the best piercing experiences I’ve had and my floating navel turned out even better than I had imagined! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Pittsburgh Tattoo Company is so awesome!! I just got my very first tattoo there. Thomas Kenney is the man! He was so nice and attentive to me as a first timer. He was very sensitive to me considering that I didn’t entirely know the whole process. I can’t say enough good things about the place! Relaxed, professional, clean, and friendly. I’ll be back soon! Also, this place is cash only. They do have a ATM on site though.

Negative experience: I got my bellybutton, conch and nipples pierced here. Overtime the belly piercing and nipple piercings started to migrate out of my body and had large irritation bumps. I followed recommended piercing care but the problems continued. I visited two different APP certified piercers about my issues and both told me I had to take out these piercings as the initial placement was incorrect and the jewelry used was cheap (externally threaded). My conch is fine and I have had friends that got tattoos here they are happy with but if you are looking to get a piercing I would not go here. I have permanent nipple and bellybutton scarring and I wish I went to places with properly educated piercers and quality jewelry originally.

Fantastic experience: Shawn did amazing work, reasonably priced, and very quickly/efficiently. We talked the whole time and it was a great experience for my first tattoo. I will be back!

Fantastic experience: Went there for a flash event, all the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Shawn was the one who ended up doing our tattoo, he was truly the nicest person I’ve ever met and he banged out a really high quality tattoo super fast. Would highly highly highly recommend going here.

Fantastic experience: Let me start with this!!!!!! My friends and I were having a girls night and making last minute plans. Thomas was kind enough to squeeze us in (3 of us). The work he did was AMAZING and quick. It was one of our friends first tattoo and Thomas was very attentive and made sure she knew what would or was happening every step of the way. Every person we encountered was so nice. They all made us feel so welcomed. The vibe is so chill yet upbeat at the same time. Pittsburgh Tattoo has 3 more forever clients;) I highly, highly recommend Thomas and the other artist at this shop!!!

Fantastic experience: i’ve gotten a few tattoos here and also my ears pierced. aaron is a very skilled tattoo artist and did my tats perfectly, also gave me useful pointers and advice on placement. would def recommend coming here.

Fantastic experience: My experience was great! I went to get new jewelry and Melissa was very helpful in telling me what gauges and styles they had. There was a wide range of jewelry at a great price and she even put them in for me! She was very patient and made sure I was comfortable, the whole process was great! I will definitely be back!
