Fantastic experience: I went in today to get my belly repierced because it fell out a year ago, Morgan was amazing she was sweet and confident she knew exactly what she was doing and I didn’t even have to get it repierced she was confident she could get it back in and SHE DID it was so easy and smooth!! Very happy customer! Highly recommend Morgan!!

Fantastic experience: I've gotten so many piercings here that the receptionists recognize me by face. Dan has done most of my piercings. I've never experienced any issues with my piercings. Everyone is always nice. They also definitely have better prices compared to other piercing shops.

Fantastic experience: Morgan was so great, quick, painless, professional, and friendly. Highly recommend if you need a piercing or need help with a piercing you have (she managed to poke through a forward helix piercing I thought was closed, fixed my boyfriend’s nose ring, and pierced his ear all in under and hour and for under $100) 10/10 experience.

Negative experience: I rave ab this shop normally, but tn I went in to get a new nose piercing and possibly my cheek pierced. I walked in and the woman w the terrible BBL literally groaned at me, I said I wanted to buy a piercing I went to ATM it wasn’t working I asked for help she said “ it’s worked for everybody else” w an attitude walked over and passive aggressively explained what I was doing wrong. I asked if there was a piercer there and she annoyingly stated “there’s always a piercer if we’re open” which is false as I’ve been twice and there was nobody there but okay I asked about the cheek piercing, which kind she recommended. She was very irritated I was asking questions obviously. Another woman in the back agreed w my statement about the error message on the ATM and while me and BBL bandit talked ab the piercing. Second woman was very sweet and came out to assure I was being taken care of. First negative experience here but can guarantee won’t be coming for any piercings.

Fantastic experience: got my vertical labret done here back in april guy who did it was super nice and quick with it, i even got in a car crash like three days after and it was still my best healing piercing

Negative experience: DO. NOT. GET. A. PIERCING. HERE. I got a nose piercing by one of the men, I got my nose pierced with parent consent and now I have a annoying ugly irritation bump on the right side of my nose that won’t go away no matter how much aspirin or antibacterial soap and ointment i use!!! GO TO SIX16 on ELLSWORTH AVE IF YOU WANT A BETTER EXPERIENCE.

Fantastic experience: Edit: It is now October 2025 and I kind of forgot about this review, but not the place or the piercings. I'd like to update this as I now know how effective the Daith Piercings are and have been for years... A few hours after the piercings, my migraines began to subside, after 3 days, they were completely gone! I am happy to say I've barely had a bad headache, let alone a migraine since having the piercings done years ago. I only wish I wouldn't have waited 8 months to get them! If you are having terrible migraines and thinking about these, don't walk, RUN and get them done...you won't be disappointed! Happier days await! I had both ears pierced with daith piercings to try and relieve migraine headaches here today...they were very friendly, the place is very clean, the equipment is all sterile and the pricing is great at $40 per side (including the stainless steel hoops)! I'm still waiting to see if they will work as I just left...

Fantastic experience: Had an issue removing my corkscrew nose piercing on two occasions due to slight trauma to the nose. Each piercer took a look at my nose to understand what happened. They explained what was going on and they removed the ring with little discomfort. Replacing the ring was a little difficult due to the swelling on the inside of my nose. However, each piercer was able to put a replacement ring in with some discomfort. I was told to return should there be any issues or if the ring needed adjustment.They have quality jewlery - I can onmy wear 14k. They are professional and above all they are clean and sterile, which is a huge plus for me. I would definitely go back.

Positive experience: Went there for a few piercings. Great southside feel, prices were on par. Piercings look good, and even as walk ins we were in an out in 45 minutes.

Fantastic experience: I have been here 2 times for ear piercings for me and my kids both times. It was clean and I felt comfortable bringing my elementary age kids in. Both people who pierced us were good with the kids.

Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE,, I had a highly unprofessional and deeply disappointing experience at this establishment while getting a dermal piercing. From the beginning, the procedure was handled in an uncomfortable and concerning manner. I was asked to lie on the piercing bed with an unnecessarily large portion of my lower body exposed, which felt completely inappropriate. The piercer proceeded to pierce my back without using proper tools—no clamp or forceps were used—which raised serious red flags regarding safety and professionalism. The next day, I experienced excruciating pain. Thinking it was just part of the healing process, I waited, but eventually called the shop to explain what was going on. I was told that this level of discomfort was "normal" and that I should give it a month for the swelling to go down. Two weeks later, the pain persisted, and I called again. At that point, I was advised to remove the piercing and return to have it re-done. When I came back for the re-piercing, I was not informed that my skin needed time to fully heal. They went ahead and re-pierced me even though the original site was still infected. As expected, the new piercing began to reject quickly because the area hadn’t properly healed. To make matters worse, I had already expressed concern after the first appointment that the piercing was done too deep—and the staff even acknowledged this—but no corrective action was taken. When I asked about a refund due to all the issues, I was told that no refund would be offered, but that I could come in for a few free piercings instead. When I called back to confirm this with the original piercer, I was told to come in the following week. However, when I showed up, she wasn’t there. I explained the situation to a different piercer, who reached out to her—only to be told that I had "lied" about everything. Shockingly, after being told I was lying, the shop still offered to re-pierce my back again—despite everything I had been through. They then told me to try calling her back when she was in. I attempted to do that, but when I finally reached her, she hung up on me—and then blocked my number entirely. This experience has been beyond unprofessional, from poor hygiene practices and lack of informed aftercare guidance to outright dishonesty and refusal to take accountability. I would strongly urge anyone considering a piercing here to reconsider. Your safety, comfort, and respectful treatment should be a priority—and that was absolutely not the case in my experience. Also they were crooked …..they didn’t even take their time with me ! Just playing with people body and skin ! Very unprofessional I had to get a tattoo to cover up the scaring !!!

Fantastic experience: My teen daughter has gotten all of her piercings here. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Despite having many customers, they get you in and out pretty quickly. We have always felt comfortable and confident with the person doing the procedures. Prices are very reasonable.

Fantastic experience: My favorite place to get pierced. I got my nose done and it wasn’t too painful. I stupidly took my nose ring out too soon, so I went back to the shop and turned out my hole closed in the middle. The one guy pierced it again and only charged me $15. I want to come again to get more piercings. Very friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for 14 years. That should say it all. Have gotten 2 from the owner Veronica. The rest from her son Brendon. Brandon is my number one guy! I love this place. Fantastic experience: Brandon did my cover-up yesterday. I wish I had a before pic, but I don't. I didn't even think what I received could have ever covered up what I had. I'm so pleased and happy with it. I was and still am beyond words. What I had was a black heart with a name in it, in all black! He did amazing and will be back for more work. Round 2- Went down for a touch-up yesterday, and it went great! Ended up getting my touch up and two new septum piercing jewelry.

Fantastic experience: Came here in 1998 to get my mother her first tattoo for her 50th birthday. I came back the next year for my first. It was all women owned then and we loved it. Went back in today for some piercing jewelry and I have to say the vibe is the same, Morgan was fantastic and Shayla swore she remembered me and my mother from 25 years ago ☺️. The prices are fair, and I would pay more just because I felt welcomed, heard and we got exactly what we needed. Great place...still!

Fantastic experience: Went in for a piercing, two lobe piercings with jewelry included for $55. The vibe of this place is awesome! Morgan did my piercings and she is a true gem along with the receptionist/in-take woman (I wish I had grabbed her name!). This place was clean and very modern but still had that old fashioned tattoo shop vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back here and recommending others as well!

Fantastic experience: Walked in for a helix piercing. The people were friendly. After a short wait for the artist to finish a tattoo, the piercing was quick and painless. Cost was $30 (cash only) and included a starter earring, but they had a bunch of other options to upgrade to. Will be back for the next! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I've first met Jewel and she gave me 1st and 2nd piercing (eyebrow and tongue), back in 2007 or so?? Can't recall exact year. She was so nice and than I met Dan (I call him Dan the Man) . He pierced my septum in beginning of 2021 and in 2023 had to re- pierced the previous hole from taking it out for surgery at the hospital (doctor's rules). And I thinking about getting more septum earrings ~barbells about 2-3 , so I can change them randomly . Think I'll go to Southside tattoo today Monday 9/23/2024.

Fantastic experience: Me and good friend went in today on a random occasion to get our nipples pierced. The lady when we walked in was so welcoming and friendly and made sure that she answered all of our questions while still assisting other customers. Soon after we were both greeted by a gentleman (I didn’t catch his name cause I was so nervous) that was also very friendly, informative and he also answered all of our questions before proceeding with our piercings. Needless to say me and my friend both left satisfied and we will surely be back for other piercings and tattoos!

Fantastic experience: Went here to get my nose re-pierced and my one ear lobe re-opened. Morgan was super sweet and comforting throughout my process. Fantastic experience: I have been looking around to get a few ear piercings (double helix, daith, and some lobes) and my cousin recommended this shop for me. Very fair pricing and excellent service. Everyone was very kind, and my experience (especially that of getting 8 piercings at once) was very calm and well done. I will be coming back to get a few more in a couple of months, and I highly recommend Dan as your piercer. Nice guy and great at making sure you are well informed. Could not be more happy with the outcome!

I had a review up about my first tattoo I don’t know if I accidentally deleted my review but I wanted to share my tattoo experience with Veronica. I really like her a lot she did a good job with my first tattoo and she is very nice and funny. When I get a tattoo for now on I will always have Veronica do my tattoos. Just today I came for my cartilage piercing and Dan did my piercing. He is very nice guy and he gives very good information about the aftercare about your piercing. He also makes sure you are comfortable and asks if you have any other questions about your piercing before you leave. I do highly recommend for your piercing or tattoo needs to come here. I had a review before about my experience but I must have deleted by mistake I don’t see it anywhere but I wanted to give a good review about this place. Also the receptionists that work here are very nice as well and very helpful. This place makes me feel welcome and I do appreciate Veronica and her staff. Thank you

Negative experience: DANGEROUS AND ILLEGAL! IF YOU HAVE KIDS WATCH OUT. ATTACHED IS THE LAW FOR PENNSYLVANIA FOR PIERCINGS WITH MINORS. THIS BUSINESS LET ANOTHER ADULT SIGN THE CONSENT FORM FOR MY DAUGHTER TO GET FOUR DIFFERENT PIERCINGS ON FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BETWEEN THE AGES OF ONLY 11 AND 15 AND PRETENDED TO BE MY DAUGHTER'S GUARDIAN AND SIGN THE FORMS. THE WORKERS THERE NEVER ASKED FOR MY DAUGHTER'S ID OR BIRTH CERTIFICATE WHICH IS THE LAW. I CALLED THE BUSINESS AND THEY HUNG UP ON ME AND THEN REFUSE TO ANSWER THE PHONE. Fantastic experience: My twin daughters aged 6, got ear lobes pierced here. I was not sure what to expect and was apprehensive but it was a pleasant experience. Just some details that may help anxious parents that may have custom to do ear piercings. When we walked in, we were greeted by a lady at reception desk, who was nice and showed us the studs and hoops in 14k gold. We chose studs. She then gave paper work that we signed. We were given "post piercing care" instructions paper and asked to wait for the piercing artist. The artist came in just few minutes, he made the setup ready, marked the ears with a dot where the piercing would be done and proceeded with disinfecting the ear lobes and used a NEEDLE to pierce(yay needle and not a gun), and set the studs. Numbing gel was used during piercing and that must have helped the kids not feel pain. The piercing artist seemed a man of few words but he helped with all of our questions. It's been 3 days post piercing and my kids are doing good. You may call them ahead and ask if you have any questions. Good luck!

Positive experience: I got my snake bites done here because it was one of the only shops that would pierce my lip at 14. I got them done at separate times, the first side by a woman, the other side by a man. The woman was excellent, she pierced my lip on the correct spot and it was almost painless. The man wasn’t as good but he was chill I guess, but bro pierced it unevenly Well I mean I guess part of it was on me because he showed me a recommendation for the placement and I agreed. That was no excuse to pierce it so low on the inside. I ain’t even tryna hate or anything I’m just saying. I wouldn’t recommend getting snakebites or anything in pairs at separate times.

Negative experience: I asked for a body piercing both advertised on Southside's website and front door. The person at the front told me that they don't offer that service. After showing them their website, they then claimed that only one of their piercers do those kinds of piercings, and that they'd be on vacation for a long time. I got the vibe that they didn't want my business. The dishonesty was disconcerting. UPDATE: Well, looks like Southside Tattoo and Body Piercing has decided to make my personal interests public, as they were upset about my review above. The lack of professionalism, should give others second thought. I have compassion for the issues the owner is going through, as my mom died of cancer, and I also know that grief does not help people show up well. I do hope the best for the owner and their family. However, I don't think lashing out at others is the right thing to do. For the future, when a service is not available, it's not hard to put a piece of tape on a sign or to update the text on a webpage with "temporarily unavailable". After placing this review, here is the response from the owner in case it is edited or removed: "Hi Brian, It's a shame you feel we were dishonest. Apparently you either have a lack of compassion or you were just in a bad mood because we told you we couldn't pierce your genitals yesterday. Our body piercer that does male genitals recently finish chemo for her cancer and is not yet ready to return to work. I find your review shameful! Perhaps as you grow in life you will be able to deal with some disappointment and not try to bash a business due to a serious illness of an employee. Thank you" I also got a message on facebook that I didn't notice until now, mostly because I forgot my password. I assume the owner planned out their response after I failed to respond over there, likely after assuming I ignored them: "I own Southside tattoo and body piercing. I would respectfully like you to take your negative review down. Obviously you do not know about our shop. We are family owned and employed. I am the owner and my mother is the head body piercer that was diagnosed with cancer last year. She went through so much and ended up with neuropathy that she is currently being treated for. She is working hard to get back to us so we are all still hopeful so we don't take the service down. I am positive she will return but not sure when so sometimes our front counter people don't know how to answer because the actual answer is private. Since your negative review she asked us to take it off the door and website which makes her loose hope and really makes me angry that people in this world today act like this." :/

Fantastic experience: Went to Southside piercing & tatoo with some coworkers. We called ahead to a few places to see if they could accommodate a group 5-7. This is the only shop that returned out phone call. Though intimidating for some on a busy street, parking was easier than expected with plenty of open electronic meter spots. All of the staff members were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend for a group! 4 of us got 1 or more piercings, one got a tattoo, and another spectated for moral support. We had a lot of fun. I had an issue a few days after where my daith ring fell out. I was super nervous about it closing, not being able to get the earring back in, and I had spent a little more for the gold upgraded package. Southside P&T had excellent customer service!! They took me right in, looked at it and said the clasp was broken and apologized. She put a new one in for me free of charge and it was super quick no waiting! Loved it & definitely recommend!!

Negative experience: In the area in January for a visit. Went to Southside Tattoo back in January. Everyone was friendly. My husband got a ring tattoo and was told by the tattoo artist that we can come in anytime for free touch ups. Immediately after it healed you can see that it was not actually even filled in on the sides. Heading to the area this coming weekend and called to make sure we can get a touch up done and they only accept touch ups on weekdays. That was a nice perk but not being from the area, a weekday will not work. We were NEVER told they only do touch ups on weekdays. Just wanted to make others aware of this. UPDATE (per shops comment): we were told that the artist who originally did it, doesn't even do tattoos anymore there...then if we wanted to get in with the owner/shop manager, we'd have to come in on a weekday because that's the only time they do touch ups. Just disappointed in the fact that no exception was made for this in order to keep a customer

Negative experience: Lady at the front desk has had an attitude problem for years. Clearly this business can’t take criticism as they only reply to their negative reviews, and never taking the time to thank their 5 stars reviews. Just read some of their replies. The tattoo artists were pretty nice the two times I’ve been tattooed, but the lady at the front desk has made me not want to return for another. Talked to a few friends & they said the same thing about her attitude. Future customers you’ll see it too! & instead of replying with some snarky remark about how you’ve been in business for so many years, why don’t you take your paying customer’s criticism into consideration like ACTUAL business owners do. Maybe you’ll get more service.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed. My daughter came here for her first tattoo and this is what she was left with. The hand is the worst tattoo I have ever seen in my life. The butterflie’s line work is so sloppy. I don’t understand. If you’re not great with doing a certain tattoo then get someone else to do it. She’s stuck for the rest of her life with this hand tattoo. I will never send anyone to you guys ever!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I walked in to get my helix piercing and my appointment went as well as anyone would hope. everyone was super nice especially because i was so nervous and hate needles. my piercer didn't seem to care at all. he tried to talk me down, made me comfortable, gave me a lollipop so i didn't pass out. he even let me sit in his area for a little bit to make sure i was okay. it was also $30 for a helix which is an awesome price. overall 10/10 some of the reviews are scary. don't listen to them

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE this shop. I came here for my first ever piercings (snake bites) and the friendly staff here made sure I felt comfortable. I had a-lot of anxiety and I’m happy to say I took it like a champ! All thanks to Morgan who was very friendly and happy to answer any questions I had! The piercings are healing nicely, I was provided with bullet point instructions on how to care for them as they heal. Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here for my daughter's 8th Birthday ear piercing! The girl who answered the phone was very knowledgeable and helpful in the process on what we needed. She also greated us as we came in and was so very sweet. Dan was our piercer and I was excited about that, because I read tons of good reviews about him. He was awesome and did a great job. He also helped my daughter in staying calm. Very happy about my experience. Thanks South Side Tattoo!!! We will be back I'm sure of it!! ❤️

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing job done, Morgan did my dimples and it didnt even hurt. She is so good at what she does.

Negative experience: Called before hand and was told the minimum for small tattoos was $60. Went in and they charged me $120 for a circle and charged my friend $84 for a quarter of a moon not even the full thing. Also totally ruined my 21st birthday :( :(

Fantastic experience: Absolutely awesome service. I stopped at Screaming Crow first and I will never go back there again. Southside tattoo is an amazing place. They were really nice and I got my piercings done quickly and it barely hurt. Will recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Fantastic experience: Brandon did a fantastic job on my 412 map of the city tattoo. Great attention to detail, easy to work with, and entertaining to talk to for several hours. The tattoo is also healing beautifully with very little scabing or shedding and minimal itch. It's definitely my best tattoo healing wise. I will have him finish the rest of my Pittsburgh sleeve for sure.

Fantastic experience: I went here for a tattoo piece that was very personal for me. It was for my late mother who passed when I was 16. I went to Garrick previously for a few small pieces on my arms. I then scheduled with him for my most important piece. I got 2 birds plus words the image was in color and it was absolutely amazing. Garrick was so gentle and I’ve been to many tattoo artists before who just dig into your skin but not Garrick. He was absolutely amazing and made this piece so special for me! Absolutely amazing studio with an amazing artist for a good price. Will 100% get more tattoos from southside tattoo.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! Dan pierced my daith and Morgan pierced my conch. They were both so personable and both piercings were almost completely painless. They clearly know what they’re doing. The whole process was so quick, I was in and out of there in 10 minutes both times. The place is also very clean and the vibes are great. 10/10 experience, definitely going back to get more piercings!

Fantastic experience: Loved the experience I had with Southside. I had my ears pierced five times, and I am so happy with them. Would definitely go back again!! Even thinking about a tattoo. Also had Morgan pierce my 2 granddaughter's ears, and my sister in law got a dermal. Everyone was so happy with them. Morgan was very professional, clean, and caring. Would highly recommend Morgan!!

Fantastic experience: Morgan pierced my conch in August 2022. She was professional and knowledgeable. The shop was clean and well-stocked. I’ve had several piercings over the years and the conch piercing Morgan gave me was nearly painless! I was provided detailed cleaning instructions and solution - the piercing healed well and very quickly. I would definitely trust Morgan for any of my future piercing needs!

Negative experience: Came her for all my facial piercings at least 2 I had done here and I would have come for way more work but they will take advantage. Stopped coming after I realized I was overcharged by about double after I saw the sign posted for cost on my way out. For 1 eyebrow piercing plus 1 jewelry piece $120 I was charged. I would seriously strongly suggest going elsewhere I know I won't be back.

Negative experience: if i could give negative stars, i would!!! my gf went here to get he nips pierced. the piercer was rude and unprofessional, and put it in the wrong spot. called the next day to get a refund and they told us there’s no way he put it in the wrong spot even though we have picture proof. she told us to come back in and get it redone free of charge. hell no. do not go here.

Negative experience: Took my child year old there for her first ear piercing. The man was cold and seemed annoyed that she was afraid. Rather than comfort her or take time, he was gruff and hurried. He then charged us 20$ just for he set-up when she backed out. I heard good things about the lady here, but don't go on a Saturday when he works.

Negative experience: Got a flat back earring put in my helix piercing that had a very small gauge piercing. I didn’t know enough about the type of earring I wanted. Unfortunately I got a much larger gauge earring jammed into the existing piercing. It was stuck and very painful. After two days I went to another place who removed the earring and put a proper earring in my very sore ear. Not a good experience for me at all. Should not have happened.

Fantastic experience: Garrick did an amazing job. The whole process from the appointment to getting the tattoo was easy. Quick responses too, and answered all my questions. The place had an old school vibes and the employees fit the bill. Would recommend getting a tattoo/piercing here.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for the last 8 or 9 years. Most recently last night. I LOVE Veronica, I have not had anything done since 2017 and yesterday we picked up like we never parted. The work she does is amazing, and flawless. She even touched up a tattoo someone else did. She is a HUMAN and relates to life. I can't say enough about her and her staff.

Negative experience: Went here for helix and navel piercing didn’t have a problem with my navel . My helix piercings however they didn’t give me a long enough ear stud they Were put on to tight so that they couldn’t start healing . Went somewhere to get them looked at and they made the backs less tight and gave me longer posts . The lady who pierced me was Very rushed and seemed bothered by my questions. Good place clean but not great for first time people getting pierced !
