Fantastic experience: I have been to yellow rose twice. Once as a walk in and once with an appointment. I’m very pleased to say both times were fantastic! All the artists at yellow rose are very friendly and helpful. My first time I was tattooed by the owner Louise who was very professional and easy to talk to. He did a fantastic job with my tattoo. He made the process very easy and was really accommodating based on what I wanted done. On my second visit I was tattooed by McCoy. He is a fantastic artist and his work looks amazing. He finished my tattoo very quickly and included a large amount of detail. He was super easy to work with as well and was very open to any ideas or changes I requested. On top of this, their tattoos are priced incredibly fair for the amount of care and quality of service you get. They put lots of love and detail into their work. If you live in or are visiting the SLC area I absolutely recommend Yellow Rose.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Yellow Rose or Cam enough. This was my first time here and I get a little anxious before tattoos and was instantly put at ease. The person at the front desk was welcoming and the shop is clean, bright, has great music and fun stuff to look at on the walls while you're getting your tattoo done. Cam never made me feel rushed, he asked me throughout the appointment if I needed anything or was doing alright, and I knew he cared because he re-did the placement a few times til it was just right and it looks so good! I love my tattoo so much, and he's easy to chat with and very kind. Very reasonable pricing, especially for something permanently on my body. Also, thank you to whoever put feminine products in the bathroom for customers. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were walk-ins a few months back, and had matching delicate arches done. Staff was courteous and kind! Tattoos were done in a safe and sterile fashion (I’m a nurse, so I’m a huge stickler on this), and healed beautifully. Thanks so much! We will be back.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Maria and she was fabulous! She did exactly what i wanted, she was fun to talk to and made me very comfortable. The shop was cool..it was bright and airy and they played the best music! I would recommend Maria and this shop to anyone wanting a tattoo! I'm definitely going back for my next one!!

Fantastic experience: My first time getting a tattoo and it was a great place to do it. The atmosphere of the shop is very friendly and welcoming; also they play great music in my opinion. All of the art covering the walls was such a fun thing to look at before and while getting my tattoo. Sierra was the artist who worked on me and she was awesome! Really loved how my first tattoo turned it!

Fantastic experience: Amazing tattoo shop! I have been going to Megan Asay for years to complete my American Traditional sleeve. She is THE BEST. I always feel comfortable and safe when I am getting work done with Megan. She has my full trust and has provided me with beautiful tattoos.

Positive experience: The tattoo it self it would rate a 2/5 but the staff was so nice and welcoming and my artist was a great guy so I feel bad giving a low review. However, I have about 10 tattoos and never felt pain like this one. It hurt so bad, it felt like he was going much too deep and over the same spot a lot. The tattoo looks pretty bad, the lines are unconnected in the corners and it looks scarred/there’s no ink in some spots. I take excellent care of my tattoos, no sun, no swimming for 2 weeks, unscented lotion multiple times a day, and have never had a tattoo look like this. I’m pretty disappointed and have to go somewhere else to get it fixed.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten two tattoos from Megan, one design I came with and one of her custom pieces. She provided such a great experience and my tattoos have healed beautifully. Can’t recommend enough!

Positive experience: Walked in on a Saturday afternoon about 3:30 and was out by 4:30. They were very welcoming and friendly, got me in right away. My only disappointment was that I needed a very small tattoo but they still charged me $100 for it as they have an expensive shop minimum. It'd be nice to get fair prices for easy, tiny tattoos.

Fantastic experience: I came in for a walk-in from Denver and Cam gave me an amazing tattoo. He was conversational and was very genuine. At the end of my tattoo I ended up leaving my sunglasses and didn’t realize until I was half way back home to another state. I called the store and he gladly mailed them out, promptly. Would recommend this shop to anyone in and around SLC.

Fantastic experience: I just went here with my cousin recently, we were ‘those people’ that went to get walk in tattoos, and Nick absolutely crushed it! They were both rib tattoos and relatively small and fine line. They didn’t hurt hardly at all, he did an excellent job tattooing. It has healed perfectly - I have barely been able to feel it except for some mild itchiness, and it didn’t scab or anything. It’s such a cool take on the design idea that we brought him. We are both stoked on it and love our tattoos. He was also super nice about us being walk ins and was not like eye rolling about it, and was actually so welcoming and thankful for the business. I get why artists get annoyed by walk-ins, but I really appreciated the entire experience start to finish. Thanks so much, Nick! *photo still has tegaderm on it from the day after we got them

The shop is welcoming, clean, and comfortable. All of the artists/employees I interacted with were friendly and kind. They even have the sweetest shop dog that you can hang with if you want to! Fantastic experience: I had a walk in appt about 45 minutes before they closed to do simple line work hearts. Yanni stayed after closing for a few minutes to finish and give me advice on how to take care of my tattoos and Ladybug(the dog) is super cute and very friendly. Yanni replaced the stencil until it was straight and was a very quick and efficient process. The staff was super nice and the area was super clean

Negative experience: Yellow rose charged me $150 for two small tattoos like this. I got a full cover up, that was large, at Tiger Claw for the same amount. Beware folks, they will completely rip you off.

Negative experience: I went in with a piece of work my friend drew for me, that I wanted put on exactly as is. When I got there, the tattoo artist I had (I forget his name as this was about a year ago now) told me I couldn’t have it exactly as I wanted it due to it being too small, and took out many of the smaller details and line work in it. Fast forward a year later, I’ve learned a lot more about tattoos, and I know what I wanted was possible. It’s upsetting because I loved what my friend drew for me, and now I have a simpler, less-artistic version of it. I wish I would have known more going in, and I wish the tattoo artist I had would’ve given me what I wanted. I am now working with another artist to fix it up so that I will actually like it.

Fantastic experience: I had a really big piece on my chest I needed covered up but was convinced it would be too large to do. Jon took the project head on and created a masterpiece that I'm seriously so proud to wear. I can't say enough good things about this place, I'm never going anywhere else.

Negative experience: I was tattooed a year and a half ago here by Endijs but am only getting around to writing the review now. The staff I interacted with at the front desk felt very cold and unfriendly. I had to pay a deposit just to talk to the artist about feasibility (I contacted him over instagram DM initially and he encouraged me to come in and discuss the design more, at which point I was told I had to pay a deposit before the actual initial consultation). Endijs said he would work on the design, but said he didn't like it (purely aesthetically, mind you. Yeah, that's exactly what I want to hear from someone who I am paying to put something on my body). Since I had already paid the deposit and didn't want to eat that cost, I decided instead of that tattoo I would have him just do a simple lettering tattoo I wanted. I made it super easy for him; I found the right font and send him the exact text to print, scaled to size and everything. His only job was to ensure that it was completely level. When he first put the stencil on, he said it was totally straight and level, but I could see in the mirror that it was not. I told him it wasn't level and he argued with me. I asked if he could go get someone else and he ignored my request and continued to insist it was level. I asked him to please put it on again and he was annoyed but did it anyway. After putting it on the second time he again said it was absolutely level, no question. I asked again if we could get a second opinion and he assured me it was completely level. It was hard to tell, but from my angle in the mirror it looked like he was correct. Turns out he wasn't. For the rest of my life I will have crooked text on my back because this place doesn't foster a culture of customer service in their artists. Go somewhere else.

I had such a great experience with Yanni and will be coming back to Yellow Rose for all of my tattoos. The artists where so unique and creative and had no problem creating a tattoo for me based on my reference picture.

Fantastic experience: My aunt and I had a walk in appointment. They were super professional and fast in getting us in. With covid they were very safe and made sure that things were clean. Our artist were Jason and Rocky, we both would highly recommend you check them out as well as their shop. The only thing is the receptionist interrupted a lot and acted rude on the phone. The end product was beautiful and exactly what we wanted.

Fantastic experience: Wow. Luis Flores is a true artist. I came to him in 2017 for a significant leg piece. Took about six sessions at three hours each to complete. I knew the content I wanted but lack all artistry so it was up to him to put something together and it's absolutely beautiful. I returned to him a month ago to start my sleeve, and again, he blew me away with his skill, and his attention to detail. He will ensure his work is going to not only be what you want and envision but what will work on the placement you've chosen. He is funny and patient and works with you. He's worth the wait to book, believe me. I've now spent more than 24 hours under a needle with him and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I get stopped all the time and asked where my tattoos are from and I will shout from the rooftop - LUIS AT YELLOW ROSE GO TO HIM ASAP. Of note. They are operating at red for the duration of covid. They take temps, do symptom checks, wear masks religiously, etc.

Negative experience: Tried to figure out information on the phone and the girl was super short. Asks me for a deposit and then explain all of the rules that they have. I understand if you are busy, but that does not make up for rudeness. If you are trying to book a appointment on the phone don’t even go through the hassle. I would plan out just go somewhere else.

Positive experience: So my tattoo was great, but it took 6 minutes to do and was about the size of a quarter. Made me and two friends who got the same thin pay $100 each for it. We did, but in hind sight felt like we really got ripped off for it just bc we were new to tattoos. In hindsight it should’ve been at most $50-$60 for each of us. Won’t go to this place again for this reason, but it does have a nice vibe there

Fantastic experience: My experience was great!!! I was so impressed! It’s #COVIDlife now and they handled it so professionally. I showed up for my appointment, and called to let them know I had arrived as I was asked to. The gal working there asked me a series of questions about feeling sick, fever, being around anyone that’s sick, etc. Once I passed the test, and as long as I was wearing a mask, I was invited to come to the door. Before she let me in, I was given hand sanitizer, and my temperature was taken. Because the day was so hot, I seemed warm. So, I was led inside and my temp. was taken again. I passed! As I walked in, hardly anyone was there. And those that were there sat about 10+ feet apart. My tattoo artist, John, was doubled up with his face mask. Everything was SO tidy and felt immaculately clean! Great conversation, too! Wonderful experience. what tattoo should I get next?!
