Fantastic experience: Best shop I've been to in a while.

Fantastic experience: This is the best place to come to for a tattoo. I’ve not had a bad tattoo from them yet. Glenn Archer did this one. He was very light handed and did a wonderful job. (I was flexing my leg to get the pic)

Fantastic experience: My first tattoos! I did a lot of research and Imperial Tattoos is the shop I chose. And I chose Glenn Archer for my artist. He did an amazing job. Very patient helping me choose a font and the sizes. He is very helpful and easy to talk with. And the aftercare I received was also top notch! I am extremely pleased with my experience. Thanks Glenn and Imperial Tattoos. I give y’all FIVE STARS!

Fantastic experience: Tim Gill is amazing! I highly recommend him, but you'll have to travel to Indiana now to get work done because he's opening his own shop. The staff is down to earth and has a great sense of humor. They are all highly talented.

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo here and I can’t express enough how happy I am with it. I HIGHLY recommend John. I was very nervous and he was awesome at making me feel comfortable. I will definitely be going to him for my next tattoo. He broke down everything he was doing, before he did it and as he did it to make me feel more at ease. He was so funny and kept good conversation which also made me feel a lot less anxious and distracted me from the pain. I will be recommending anyone I know who wants a tattoo to John. You can easily tell he is passionate about what he does and he loves doing it, not to mention he’s amazing at it! There is no doubt he cares about his clients and does everything possible to make them feel safe and comfortable. I didn’t know if I’d make it through cause of my anxiety but John helped me so much and encouraged me and made me feel like I could actually do it and because of him I did! Thank you so much again John :)

Fantastic experience: Glenn is the man! I got my first tattoo 14 years ago and have been wanting to add a second for quite a while now. I have zero artistic vision personally, so I gave him a couple of designs that I wanted him to mesh together with not a whole lot of space to work with. He meshed everything perfectly and what he was able to do with the design/outline/shading completely exceeded any expectations I had. Everyone is super nice in this shop also, Sean the owner was running out to get some snacks and even asked if he could get me anything. Zero complaints about my experience here.

Fantastic experience: Imperial means top knotch, quality, royalty, the BEST of The Best, and pretty much perfection. I walked in a Plain Jane and strolled out An Enchantress plus Empress for real. John Paul Faughender and Sean Smallwood stole the whole show, took the whole cake, and showed up and showed out! I literally was going to buy $50, 000 dollars worth of jewelry and get a tummy tuck until Mr Faughender tatted me up. I'm killing iit and DEFINITELY showing what a True Red, White, and Blue Female Pretty Boo can do with my new tattoos! Tip them REAL TATTOO ARTISTS and pay them them their dues. Go down to Barrett Avenue in Louisville KY and shop with them boys at Imperial Tattoos!

They offered to do the tattoos my boyfriend and I wanted after they finished with their event they had going on, but we opted to come back. Well worth the drive! Will for sure be back!

Fantastic experience: Great experience with John & the Imperial Tattoo crew. Shop vibes & location are chef’s kiss - love all the natural light inside. No more getting tattooed in a lawn chair from the utility closet, ladies! We’re lounging on leather & basking in the sun.

Negative experience: This is my second time here and I had to pay $85 for THREE LINES. the last time I was here I got my ENTIRE calf done for $100…. I understand shop minimum, (which he didn’t tell me was $85 until AFTER the ink was on me, btw…..) but it would’ve been REALLY cool for the guy to just say, hey, this is 3 lines , I’ll do you an huge favor and only charge you $20. Or the least he could’ve done was say, “hey you’re only getting 3 lines, are you sure you wanna pay $85 for this?” But he didn’t. So I went in blissfully unaware. Most tattoo shops have decent people who like to work with the customer and not against. But because I was charged so much for such a small tattoo, and the artist was so beyond shady about it, I will NEVER come back. Again, not trying to be a Karen, i understand you’ve gotta make your money, but idk. I would’ve for sure kept coming back for more ink , but im sure any other piece I try to get done here will also cost me way, way more than it should, this place isn’t what it used to be a few years ago.. Sorry to be a Karen but my experience left such a bad taste in my mouth I just had to say something. If anyone ever asks me about this place, they’re getting a “STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HERE “ from me.

Walked in yesterday no appointment Tim drew up an awesome piece of art and gave me the sickest tattoo I’ve ever gotten. Great staff, professional, friendly, sanitary, fair pricing, stellar work. Checks all my boxes. Couldn’t be happier.

Fantastic experience: Every experience I’ve had with Matt at Imperial has been awesome. He’s incredibly talented and knowledgeable. For any major pieces I wouldn’t go to anyone else. The staff is super friendly and the shop is super cool in a great part of town.

Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience today with John. Not only was everyone in the shop very welcoming, but I felt so relaxed and comfortable. John was quick with a light hand and designed on the fly. I was charged for work that I would have easily paid double. The shop was unbelievably clean, and I was sent home with extra bandages and precut to change out for the next two weeks because of my work. Wish I had found them so many tattoos ago!

Fantastic experience: Such an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! Took a picture of the tattoo that I wanted to Matt: he made it 1000 times better!! He was fun and for 80% of the tattoo I didn’t really feel anything! Master skills! Love it! I’ve been to other shops, but by far this was a superior experience! Going back for more ink and a coverup/ tattoo tweak!!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Imperial Tattoos! We were traveling for work and 4 of us wanted to book appointments. They worked with our chaos of trying to schedule all 4. From the moment we walked into the shop, we were treated with openness and respect. Tim, John, and Glenn were all very nice and helpful. Glenn worked with me to plan out the best idea and placement. He took his time and it definitely shows in the quality! The line work is impressive and the realism mixed with my touches is even better than I envisioned! Even down to the clear saniderm put over the tattoo at the end. It has yet to peel or show any signs of being ready to come off. The best part was watching a couple movies, which was a first for me during a tattoo! The atmosphere was fun yet relaxing. I wish we lived closer so we could book another!!

Fantastic experience: I made a last minute appointment today to get a tattoo as an impulse. I called around to a few different places, but the shop minimums were too much for a tiny tattoo. Jon was the only person who answered my call and offered an alternative. Two small pieces for the same price. He recommended that I arrive around 5:30 and he was able to get started by 6. I am quite pleased with his light touch and friendliness. The tattoos are exactly what I envisioned. I’ll definitely consider returning for bigger pieces. I also liked the vibes of the shop and it’s location.
