Tribal Rites Tattoo and Piercing Westminster

Negative experience: If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD, but that’s not an option! My daughter scheduled an appt and made an honest mistake and thought it was for a Thursday instead of Friday. We did a $45 deposit for the appt but because my daughter made a mistake they wouldn’t honor the deposit. They used the excuse that it was because she wasn’t able to pierce anybody else during that time. However we’ve been here MULTIPLE TIMES and if they actually had people waiting for a piercing I guarantee you they didn’t just sit there and make them wait because her appointment (my daughter) didn’t show up. I should also mention that when we made the appointment her schedule was she completely open. Absolutely ridiculous!!!! Although we have been here multiple times, I will never spend another dime at a tribal rights again. There are way too many other good piercing places to spend my money here. It was an honest mistake but clearly customer service isn’t in their business model.

Fantastic experience: Went in for my nipple piercings with Nails back in June, then came back to downsize a few months later. Nails was always respectful, professional, and had a wonderful bedside manner. They really eased my nerves for such a scary piercing and were very lgbtq+/trans friendly. The receptionist (so sorry I didn’t get their name!) was very helpful with jewelry recommendation and pricing. Definitely recommend this studio for anyone in the area, I’d even go as far as to recommend traveling to this studio because it’s just that good.

Fantastic experience: I have been pierced by Nails and Jane has helped me switch out jewelry! My fiancé has also gotten pierced by Nails too. We love this place for piercings. They’re sooo professional, helpful, FUN, kind, and they make it easy. They have a wide selection of jewelry and it’s so fun to talk about different options and ideas. Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic for both kids' and adult piercings. I want to thank one of their piercers specifically- Nails did such an incredible job with a tricky 3rd lobe piercing. They were patient, so kind, and did such a wonderful job ensuring I had the piercings exactly where I wanted them and made sure I knew how to take care of them. I would recommend this shop for anyone needing a phenomenal piercer in Arvada.

Fantastic experience: Took my daughter here to get her ears pierced a couple weeks ago. She was a bit nervous about getting it done but had been asking for months. Nails and the person's whose name I forgot were fantastic. Not only were they patient with my daughter working through the courage but even stayed late so we could take the time that we needed to. I would totally recommend this shop to anyone looking to get their kids ears pierced, just make sure you bring an actual copy of the birth certificate.

Fantastic experience: I got my nostrils pierced here for an upcoming chain placement. I came here unsatisfied from a different shop, and they helped me find what I wanted as a walk-in. Nails and Q are great. The prices were great and given upfront, with a good selection of jewelry. It's a safe place for women and queer people. I plan to come back again

Fantastic experience: Stopped by the other day, to ask a question about a piercing, wasn't intending on getting pierced that day. Q at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable and kept me company until the piercer was ready to talk to me. Nails (the piercer)made me feel so comfortable I ended up getting my septum pierced on the spot. Easiest, most painless piercing ive ever had. Q and Nails you rock!!! Thank you for making my experience so easy and fun!

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a clean and friendly place to have your child get their ears pierced- THIS is the place! Nails was AMAZING with my almost 7yo daughter. My daughter was very excited but also nervous about her first piercing experience. Nails made her feel relaxed and comfortable through the entire experience. 10/10 recommend!! Fantastic experience: Kenny is by far one of the most personable, passionate, and attentive tattoo artists I’ve ever worked with. My best friend and I sent him an idea and what he created was truly stunning. It wasn’t what we expected but it was so much better. The man is truly an artist. He was interactive and really made for the best experience! We spent 5 hours with him and truly enjoyed every minute! We plan to seek him out for our next one and would not hesitate to recommend him!

Fantastic experience: Amazing service and nice quick piercing. However I got really embarrassed after being rightfully called silly freaking out ovef my peircing holes getting all puffy. It was my first peircing wand was told to not touch ever and i waited too long to go get me jewlery shortened. It's my fault, and if I was stronger, I would 100% go back. 10/10 experience. Nice vibes. Just can't handle being seen as uncool compared to what is one of the coolest staff I've encountered ever.

Negative experience: What kind of tattoo/piercing shop only carries push pin jewelry? Good way to continue scamming people out of money because you only sell jewelry that loses its push pin. Seems like the gig, because you dont sell secure jewelry (internally threaded/ externally threaded) do better y'all

Fantastic experience: I’ve used Kenny for a few tattoos and they’ve all been great! He’s very responsive to messages, and friendly to work with. He even added on to an existing tattoo I had from a different artist and you can’t tell that 2 artists worked on it. Highly recommend him!

Fantastic experience: Nails did my vertical nip piercings today and she was a dream. Super professional and nice, and so informative. Ive had a ton of piercings in my life and this was definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had with it. Even though I'm super decorated, I always get nervous with new pieces, but Nails was so chill and encouraging, it made the nerves go away quickly and the piercings were fast.

Fantastic experience: I just got my belly button and other nostril pierced by Nails (Naels?) and they were AWESOME! They were very clean and their gloves, jewelry, and everything else that goes into piercing was very sterile. They made sure I had the right anatomy and knew what they were doing. They also were AMAZING at lining up the piercings.

Fantastic experience: Really great overall vibe - very clean: smelled nice, saw proof of cleaning, they were vocal about sterilization, glove changes, etc. The front counter gal (I didn't catch her name, Jess?) was so sweet and enthusiastic and made me feel at ease and welcome. My piercer Jane was extremely thorough, calm and accommodating. I felt comfortable with asking her for changes and she talked me through each step even though I clearly have tattoos and piercings, which is nice and she was not condescending about it at all. It was a breath of fresh air to experience a shop with a good balance of light (not a dungeon) with good music (not SOLELY hardcore screaming) and two excellent female staff members. I will definitely be coming back for any future jewelry and piercings desires! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough kind things about them. We came in to get my 10 year old daughter’s ears pierced. Everyone was so extremely kind, supportive, and built her up every step of the way. From picking her earrings to walking her through the process - they were fun and attentive. Not to mention, Jane, did so well at the actual piercing that my daughter didn’t even flinch. I 100% Will come back for any sort of piercing.

Fantastic experience: I got my nipples re-pierced here by a piercer who is no longer there but she did a great job in following my requests during my appointment. I also got a vch here last year from Liz and while it was painful, she did a great job in making sure my anatomy was correct for the piercing and explaining everything I needed to know about placement, healing, and jewelry selection. I would recommend going here for your piercing needs!

Negative experience: $47 for just a downsized bar is crazy not gonna second guess a business but honestly, a changeout cannot possibly be worth that…. Rethinking the vibes and trust built here forsure!

Fantastic experience: Dean was incredibly patient when I first came in out of the blue with an idea but not much else attached to it. He helped me kinda build it up alittle more, and was flexible when I had to reschedule it two days later. When it came down to getting the tattoo he was quick, friendly, and was letting me know what he was doing and when. A very good artist, will come back again. Amazing price too!

Fantastic experience: Good piercer dont remember her name she did mine and my gf at the time.. On top of that I bought a second beautiful lavender opal nose ring from them. They offered to put it in, but I handled it myself. Idk about the tattoo side but seems like a great shop overall.

Jane the piercer was super kind and really listened to me and provided options, and wanted to make sure i both felt safe and comfortable but also that i was taken care of. Fantastic experience: I had two lobe piercings done today (standard hole was done years ago) and I couldn't be happier. David at FOS was able to answer any questions I had over the phone the day prior, and he was just as helpful in-store today. He was friendly, helpful, patient, and just generally wonderful. Jane, who did my piercings, was just as fabulous. I hadn't had any piercings since I was a kid, and she explained the whole process and aftercare very thoroughly. The piercings themselves were so quick that I barely registered the pinch. I didn't have a preference on the piercer when making my appointment, but I'll definitely request her specifically if I get any more done. Overall, this experience was such a breeze. The jewelry selection was lovely with a good range of styles and prices. The shop was easy to get to, very clean, and welcoming. And obviously the people were great.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here from the first phone call to the checkup on my piercing weeks later. Nails was beyond wonderful and I’ve been to her for 4 piercings now. Negative experience: GREEDY! THIS PLACE HAS BECOME A RIP OFF! THIS SHOP IS GOING DOWN HILL! My daughter went here to have a earring removed (that they did mind you) removed and they wanted to charge her $25 to remove the earring so she could change it out. A friend of mine went here, and for a regular double ear piercing with jewelry (not even gold jewelry) was over $200! That is INSANE! Used to be my favorite shop. And I used to recommend ppl go here. NOT ANYMORE! BOO! HISS!

Negative experience: They refused to sell me jewelry for my tongue because they had to "evaluate" me before they would even talk to me about my options. They also said I would have to wait at least 30 minutes if I was going to get evaluated because the piercer was busy. I understand the wait, but I didn't need to be evaluated because I wasn't having them touch it! I was just buying the jewelry! I pushed my piercing out for a second as we were talking, trying to demonstrate I had too long of a bar, which is what I was trying to fix! She scolded me like I was a child, saying, "You really shouldn't play with my tongue piercing," as if I was sitting there spinning it. I was very disappointed because this place was recommended by my closest friend. I was telling her about the condescending lady I experienced today when she shared that there's really only one nice person she's ever had. Her favorite lady has a shaved head and is always great, so shout out to her for being nice! I, on the other hand, had a young lady with multiple face piercings and short hair but not buzzed. It took everything in me not to be rude right back. Condescending people don't belong in a CS position! I would give it 1 star if my friend didn't tell me about the one nice lady she goes and sees.

Fantastic experience: I've trusted Tribal Rites with piercings since 2014! Over the years I've had a variety of piercers, but Liz and Mo have each done several of my piercings! I never hesitate to recommend Tribal Rites if someone is asking about a piercing shop. The front desk people are always welcoming and helpful! (I usually see David in there). Mo has even re-pierced a couple that were done a little funky before I came to Tribal Rites. I just got these opal beauties on my lobe over the past few weeks and I am IN LOVE with my jewelry that Mo helped me pick!! I usually pick the standard jewelry but invested in the pretty pieces right away. Pictures for reference - all piercings except first two lobes, rook, and one nostril have been done at Tribal Rites! (Price for piercings can vary pretty greatly depending on your jewelry choice.)

Fantastic experience: Working with Kat was a dream! From concept to performance, she made it all happen. Chatting went from best Peruvian chicken in town to aliens. Fantastic experience: I chose Tribal Rites Westminster because that's the stomping ground of an artist whose style really caught my eye. Her name is Kat, and I knew she could help bring a vision I had been having for years to life. I told her my idea, and she immediately had things she wanted to try with the design. Once the day came, she revealed what she had and I loved it. I requested a minor change and she turned it around super quick. We did the tattoo in 2 sessions. The first one was 2 hours and the second was 10 hours. Both of us were excited to get this project done, and it speaks volumes to Kat's level of tattooing ability and general focus that she pulled through. She's super easy to talk with, which is a gift in itself, but it's an absolute asset when doing a long session. The tattoo healed lickity-split. I'm super stoked about it and I hope I can get a few more from Kat moving forward.

Negative experience: $95 for an earring that has come apart and fallen out twice now.. just insane. I find this place to be extraordinarily overpriced and clearly the jewelry is inferior. How does an earring just come apart in your ear?? The technician even had to put the earring on for me and charged me $10 + tip to do so and two weeks later it’s gone. I’m going to Claire’s next time.

Fantastic experience: I have had all my piercings done here, this place is amazing. They get you in quick, even on busy days, the quality of the jewelry is great, the piecer is knowledgeable and explained everything. Everyone including the people are up front are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: I’m a male and did a piercing I’ve always wanted to do (iykyk) and I had an amazing experience. I actually had to cancel my first appointment because I just got too nervous and Liz was WAY more that comforting and understanding about it. Came back today and got it done. Liz is extremely professional, quick and very communicative. Avery was very quick to get me everything I needed when I had an adrenaline dump. They all kept it comedic and talkative the whole time to ease the nerves. I cannot thank every single one of them there enough for the professionalism. I feel so bad about this but I already forgot the receptionist’s name but he was awesome and kept the vibes cool long before I went back to get the piercing done. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: Tribal Rites is an incredible place to get your work done at. I’ve gotten 3 different pieces done by Kenny Haskins and he has killed it every single time. He always makes the time to plan your design out and really goes above and beyond with everything relating the tattoo process. For all 3 of my tattoos Kenny has seen my idea of what i want and came up with a design that is even better. All my appointments have been extremely cleanly and enjoyable. Negative experience: Charged me $230 (not including tip) for ONE nose piercing. Rip off I noticed upon leaving they offered everyone a text or email receipt. I wasn’t offered one and I felt so awkward and bamboozled that I just left.

Fantastic experience: I got a small tattoo from Kenny, amazing artist and guy!! I just turned 18 and was so excited to get it, and he was beyond amazing! It was a great atmosphere everyone there is so nice, and the tattoo turned out great!

Negative experience: The individual with the blond/multi colored bob cut at the front desk was extremely entitled and was rude to us the moment we walked in, smirking and making rude comments that made us feel unwelcome. Our actual piercer was very nice. However, the rudeness of the individual was not worth the money. I have heard other things about this persons rudeness before and I’m not happy I experienced it myself. I was happy to go elsewhere for my piercing the next day.

He has also given me great ideas for other pieces I want to get in the future, all of which I want to get done by him due to his skill, art style, and his ability to minimize pain to a great degree. Fantastic experience: Kenny is an amazing artist/tattoo expert!! Not only is his working amazing but how he is able to work with someone that has multiple illnesses including diabetic 1, heart disease, and coronary artery disease. Kenny will work with anyone that has illnesses and knows how to manage each session beyond anyone I have ever worked with. I have worked with 6 tattoo artists in the past and I will tell you Kenny is five stars compared to 2 star artists that I worked with before. Fantastic experience: Kenny (mwk.tattoos) was fantastic to work with! It was easy to plan appointments with him, and his line work, attention to detail, and stunning realism techniques were perfect for bringing my art dream to life. He was very collaborative and it was easy to tell he really cares about the work he does as well as being kind and considerate to his clients. My tattoo was a multi-session piece which was very reasonably priced, and Kenny always checked in with me regarding what I thought about how the piece was progressing as well as if I needed breaks during the sessions. Fantastic experience: Shop is super clean and everyone there is great to work with! Sent several friends in for piercings and have gotten a couple of tattoos from Kenny. He's a great artist that has amazing talent and is super professional! Is always willing to tweak something if need be and has very good attention to detail. Fantastic experience: I have had the pleasure of working with a few extremely professional people at Tribal Rights. One I would like to highlight. Kenny, has made my experience in a tattoo shop comfortable, affordable, and very professional. Got me and a friend in, did the exact design we wanted, and at a completely reasonable price. I would have no other Tattoo (and also piercing) Shop I would recommend to anyone. Honestly, I have no complaints, and have been completely won over for any further tattoos or piercings. Fantastic experience: I went to get a piece by Kenny at Tribal Rites of a skeleton praying. I went to do this on my birthday. After meeting Kenny for the first time, he was very careful with creating my vision, and worked so diligently to create the best experience, the best product, and to make it very affordable. He was so interesting to talk to, and it really showed that he is a passionate artist. I have vowed to never go anywhere else but Kenny, however there are plenty of extremely talented artists here. Fantastic experience: This location was amazing! I got my first tattoo done for my 18th birthday by Kenny and it was great. I was able to express and receive exactly what I wanted for my first one. I felt comfortable the whole time and just had an overall amazing experience!

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing, it’s a little on the expensive side but it’s well worth it. Kenny my tattoo artist did an amazing piece on me. He really cares about how the client feels throughout the whole process and is super understanding. Most definitely coming back to this place and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: I've had 2 experiences here and both were great. Liz did ear piercing for my daughter and she was so patient, kind and professional with her and really put her at ease. Kenny did some fine line tattoos for me and 2 friends and was so easy to work with. He helped us finalize designs and did a great job with the whole process. Super professional and easy to work with. We were all super happy with our results!

Fantastic experience: Kenny did a sternum piece for me, designed it all based off random ideas I threw at him. The design and final piece came out absolutely amazing. Definitely will be going back for my future tattoos.

Positive experience: Update: I was able to get in contact with Liz and we were able to make this situation right. Original review: I went here to get two earlobe piercings and was told that the total for a set was $45. I was fine with the price. When I went to pay, I was shocked to find out that two sets of earrings and an individual stud was $300. I only got jewelry so I wasn’t charged a piercing fee for the earlobes. Apparently there is a fee for the post of $15 per earring, which they don’t tell you until the piercings are done and you’re about to walk out. To top the experience off, two weeks later, one of my lobes is infected and has a giant bump on it. Update got my abscess removed just over two weeks after getting my earlobe piercings reopened. $300 for the trauma of having to get a procedure done on my earlobes on a random Tuesday. Save yourself the money and headache and take your business elsewhere. Went back and there piercer was clearly high and just said everything was fine with my conch. Oh and for the consumers out there, the piercer sat right behind the front desk staff during check out as they asked how much you wanted to tip. It was super uncomfortable. Mo was an awesome piercer and this review should not be taken as a reflection of their work in anyway.

Fantastic experience: Spectacular place, guys. I applaud you all for a wonderful experience from start to finish. We came in a few days prior to our tattoo date, to inquire about pricing, as well as discuss our design for matching tattoos. The front office staff were extremely friendly, and helpful/knowledgeable. I wish I thought to get your names ladies because you were all delightful to work with. They had us speak with a couple artists and provided contact information on all of the artists that we spoke to. We spoke with Kenny, and Dean. Both were very helpful and receptive to designing and providing much needed feedback for tattoo design! Solely due to availability we went with Kenny since I was visiting from out of town. Both of these artists were fabulous. We felt very comfortable and excited with what we discussed and decided with the artists. The day of the tattoo we finalized our design thoughts with the artist. We decided to change a couple things for the final design. The artist was great to chat with and he was very professional. After care was explained thoroughly, and the tattoo is healing well! Very clean technique was used. Very very happy with this shop, and will be back again!

Fantastic experience: I took my six year old for an ear piercing after she had an ear infection the first attempt. The team is welcoming and professional. They set my daughter up for success!

Negative experience: We went here to get a piercing ring changed out. They told us a price of $40-$45, then after the new ring was put in and we were ready to pay, they said they quoted us a wrong price and it was actually $97! I asked if they could honor the original price they quoted us. The best they could do was $70! We had them take the ring out. The good ol' bait and switch.

Fantastic experience: Favorite piercing studio, all staff I've interacted with are excellent, and Liz Murphy is my by far favorite piercer, really skilled piercer in all regards, wild depth and breadth of knowledge. Been going to her for 3? years. She's done both of my tongue piercings, navel, industrial, and nipples. My friends have had multiple eyebrows, PA, various weird ones, and my longtime area resident friends full of even more holes often reccomend her, too. All healed very well, no complications, excellent placement, jewellery selection and recs, and aftercare advice. I expect her peers at the studio have a high level of skill as well, although I have not had work done. From professionalism, to comfort in the process, to skill in executing the piercing, to working with all bodies as being unique and varied ( I ALWAYS suggest her to my queer, trans, disabled, and fat friends, because she is perfect for them especially). I simply will not go to another studio or piercer if she is available to book. Strong chance I'd travel or time my piercings with other travel if she moved, and I would pay more (which can be done w tipping :)), it is really and truly worth it in my mind to visit someone of this caliber for anything more complex than a lobe or easy helix or navel or septum piercing. Again, it is easier, you get better advice, you get general knowledge of the piercing process that other piercers are not able to provide mid-process. She makes it look crazy easy. I cannot speak to her proficiency with piercing children, because I am not a children, but from all accounts it is nicer than a lot of other experiences. If I was a child I think I would also suggest her if I wanted my ears etc pierced, deeply courteous and informative and skilled at making the process feel natural and smooth and nice. I had mid or even kind of bad piercing experiences at other locations, or just uncertainty on skill level, and Liz has always surpassed expectations. I feel very lucky I found her.

Positive experience: went in for a septum. took 30 minutes to clean the jewelry, then 5 minutes to do the piercing itself. Jane was so nice and comfortable during the entire thing an it looks so good!. healing has been easy, I follow the instructions she sent me home with and I'm so happy.

Fantastic experience: Great tattoo and piercing shop! The piercer (I'm sorry I forget their name) was super professional and friendly. It was my first times getting my ear lobes pierced, so I was a little nervous. But it barely hurt lol.

Fantastic experience: I've been to around 6 different shops in the last couple years, trying to find a place that did quality work and were also personable. My first interaction with this shop was a phone call I made to them. They had time to take me as a walk-in for piercings, so I arrived maybe 30 minutes later. My piercing artist was Ben, and I don't have enough good things to say about him! Not only was he knowledgeable about his craft, but he followed strict guidelines to ensure my safety. I tried to convince him to do an industrial on top of two daiths, but he reasonably put his foot down, and I acknowledge his wisdom now. The daiths are placed damn near perfectly. I did spring for one additional piercing, a new navel one to replace my old one which stretched way out over the years. All three piercings were professionally done, and that's really only HALF of why I'm going back. Speaking with Ben was beyond easy, I think he might be able to calm the most freaked out modification virgin in under 10 minutes. He recommended other artists for various modifications I've been considering, and wrote down contact info for those who's cards he didn't have available. He also recommended a tattoo artist who works in the same shop, based on my descriptions of rework, coverup, and new ideas. That guy is named Dean, and gotta shout him out now too! Dean set me up for a consult about a neck piece coverup very quickly. A day or two after my first visit. Dean took my rambling ideas and fired off 5ish ideas the night he was answering my questions via email. He seems modest about his abilities, but I need to shout this: HE'S HUNGRY TO CREATE. The way he articulated his understanding of my anxiety rambling was very professional. His hour rate was more than I expected, but just based on his online portfolio and the sketches he made I'm very willing to pay it. His art seems super complimentary to my ideas, and I'm beyond hopeful the coverup succeeds, cuz I have a lot of ink to fix. Overall: I'm overwhelmingly happy to have found this shop. I've spoken to 4 people who work there, and all 4 are polite, responsive, and friendly. If the shop owner sees this review: your hiring process is superb! I'll add more after my first tattoo session (dean was booked out a few weeks, but he has me near the first)

Fantastic experience: All of the front workers were so nice and helpful! Made my husband and I feel comfortable and truly expressed how sorry they were when they found out they didn't have the jewelry to pierce what I wanted pierced. AMAZING customer service!
