The studio is fantasic and has a great vibe and the team are all very professional with sensational art work. I enjoyed my visits with them and intend revisit should i return to the country. Fantastic experience: Paul Collier took the time to work through ideas for the tattoo design so as to capture the essence and reason for the ink. Care was taken to make the tattoo an experience and to demonstrate his ability to produce high quality art with minimal pain. 'Live Life' 'Take time to smell the roses' 'Time is limited'.

Negative experience: Says closes at 5 and got there at 4:30 pm and all locked up. Not good enough.

Negative experience: Just wanted to share an experience my daughter had with one of the tattoo artists. My daughter had booked a consult, met with the tattoo artist, went over the design, colors, length of time (2 hours approx.) it was going to take and the cost (approx. $300-$400) and also the maximum cost ($500). The design was simple and not overly complicated. On the day the tattoo was done, she was in the chair for 5 hours when it came time for payment the artist told her it was going to cost $600 and she had to pay him in cash even though the studio has eftpos? We had to leave and try and find an atm, unfortunately there were no ATM's close by and my daughter went back and was able to pay the artist by direct depositing and eftpos. I am not questioning the artist's work but the business practices that were employed here. I don't know if this normal in this type of work, but a consult beforehand with times and prices discussed should be adhered to. I felt like my daughter was hijacked and vulnerable because of her age and this artist took advantage. What do you think?

Fantastic experience: All the staff we met at Bohemian Tattoo Arts were very nice. Their establishment is very clean, tidy, and relaxing. Matias did our tattoos and he is a great guy! Very friendly and knowledgeable. He made my first tattoo experience an enjoyable one. Our family of 4 had matching tattoos. He drew up a design once we gave him a general idea of what we wanted. He come back after about 15 minutes of drawing up a sketch and oh my gosh all our mouths dropped. It was so cool! It was amazing! Just what we wanted. I highly recommend this place for your next tattoo. I am already thinking about by next tattoo next year when we come back to New Zealand. I will definitely have Matias draw it up it again. Fantastic experience: This was a fantastic experience. It was my 1st tattoo and I’m not a young lass. The people were very friendly and spent a lot of time to make sure that I get exactly what I want. I could’ve done with some numbing cream which they said they could apply but on the day they didn’t have any. Having said that, when you go for a tattoo you’re dealing with needles so either put up with it or decide that it may not be the right thing for you. There was a client who made a bit of noise but to be honest I didn’t think that was really warranted. You know what you sign up for when you go to a tattoo parlour. The space was very clean and tidy, the artists were very professional, kind and gentle. Especially Matius who did my tattoo. He had the patience of a saint and was great to talk to. I love what he did for me. When it’s healed I’ll see if I can post a picture.

Negative experience: This rating goes to one of the guys who works on a Saturday that couldn't even give me the time to listen to what I wanted. I told the receptionist who was lovely and then had the guy walking towards me with such a negative attitude over what I wanted which was an engagement ring. I understand they may have been a challenge for him but for someone who is about to get their first tattoo and a special one, the attitude was terrible.i watched and listened to him as he came near me and just as he got to me I thanked them for their time but declined meeting as there is no way in hell I would let someone like that touch me with a needle. My ratings for the ladies who look after piercings would be a 5 as I have been in there a number of times and they are so good at helping me fix anything I need and I give a 5 to reception

Fantastic experience: Julie worked on two tattoos for me. One on each forearm. Absolutely love her vibe. She did a fantastic job on both tattoos. Exactly how I wanted them with some additions of her own that I really loved. I will post photos once the tattoos have healed. I would definitely recommend going to Julie for your next tattoo, especially if it is based on nature or has spiritual elements.

Fantastic experience: Came here as a birthday gift/honeymoon/just to get tattooed! My wife looked up the artists in the area and I chose Paul! He had great concepts and used colour really well so it made the choice easy (all mine are colour). He sent us something that wasn’t totally what we wanted, sent him back some changes and he made them right away. Then he nailed the idea!! Wanted something fun, colourful and added NZ flavour! Once I got to the shop the staff at the front desk was super nice and welcoming. The shop smelt clean and all procedures you’d want to be taken, were. I left super happy and would look Paul up again whenever we make the trip to NZ again!! 10/10 would recommend!!

Negative experience: Do not go to big fish, he is useless. I had some work done about a year ago. he was supposed to design a sleeve and then I get the work done in stages as I could afford it, however I turned up on the day and he hadn’t designed ANYTHING. He then Spent the next 2 hours rushing to come up with something and his solution was to copy and paste/crop from the internet which is what I wanted to avoid + something he “hates other artists doing”. The design he ended up using wasn’t really suitable to a sleeve design so have since had another artist trying to Tie together what Jeff had done. No one I have talked to about it had been able to even recognise what my tattoo was and people commented that it didn’t look like a sleeve as it looked more like separate tattoos. 0/10 waste of my hard earned money and something that causes disappointment whenever I look at it.

By Thursday 18th I was booked in good to go! What a fantastic clean sterile studio & very welcoming lovely professional team of people who work there. I had some work done there around 7 years ago would definitely recommend Bohemian! Thank so much Jeff I really love my little piece of art!
