Fantastic experience: Had full day sessions with Aleah and can honestly say the work is phenomenal, everyone is super friendly and the owner is very accommodating with Netflix on Tv's to watch whilst you have your session and free tea/coffee lovely experience every time. Highly reccomend such skilled artists

Fantastic experience: Went in for replacement jewellery and fitting service after the jewellery fell out of my fresh helix (pierced elsewhere). I was seen almost immediately and the service was so quick! The piercer was so sweet and helpful. I'll be going here for my piercings from now on!

Negative experience: Booked Wednesday was told for a 10 letter tattoo across two people that the artist doing it would be £35 an hour per person for minimum so £70 total the tattoos lasted a grand total of 18 minutes for both tattoos and then we had to wait for the artist to eat her lunch making the overall sit an hour and a half to then go and be told that it’s actually £50 an hour per person and so a ten letter tattoo cost £100 or £5 per letter or £2.30 each per minute of sitting in the chair very unclear very misleading wouldn’t of agreed or paid a deposit if it was going to be that much very disappointing has gone down hill since paddy left won’t be coming back

The rest of the staff are brilliant too, such as the receptionist who was very kind and had earlier on made booking easy and quick to do. Really do recommend Vivid Ink. Fantastic experience: Had a full day session with Greg, was amazing to work with walked me through every step and stayed longer to finish the tattoo, bought me and my partner a coffee which was a nice touch. Reception staff have been really helpful with the whole booking and arrangement process going back in January to finish the full thing!

Fantastic experience: Vivid Ink Derby and Paddy - where’s the option for 10 stars ?! WOW! Initial contact over WhatsApp was very informative and during my first visit to studio (as a potential client) I was made to feel so welcome and Paddy went out of his way to talk to me. The follow up with both Rachel and Charlotte was speedy and so helpful - thank you both for your time in making the booking process a breeze. On the day Paddy was absolutely amazing, very understanding and put me at complete ease (first tattoo!). The level of detail / care he dedicated to my session was on another planet! Even after a long day of what must have been crazy levels of concentration, he gave me so much advice on aftercare. I’ve already had so many positive comments , especially on the incredibly high detailing that went into the tattoo. I’m very grateful Paddy , I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Fantastic experience: I had my tattoo done with Kate. She is currently a trainee, but you would never know! She nailed the brief for the design and was very professional throughout. Although it wasn't the most difficult tattoo she will ever do, she never made me feel patronised as I have done at other studios. Friends who are much more into their tattooing have all commented on the very high quality of the work. Will definitely use Vivid and Kate again if/when I'm brave enough for another!!

Fantastic experience: I had a half sleeve full day with Greg. It was my first tattoo and he quickly settled my nerves. Not only patient as we went through the design but was very knowledgeable and offered great ideas and insight to the way it would look not only as a design but how that reflects in the layout of your arm etc. Very professional and great to chat to as the day progressed. Fantastic experience: What a brilliant studio in the heart of Derby. Friendly staff and artists, funky building and a really sound vibe. I'm a Brit who lives abroad, and while over in Derby visiting family, I called in at 10am on a Tuesday on the off chance that they might have an opening for a drop in - just a small gap filler, a delicate moth motif. I showed the piece I wanted, and was asked if I minded siting with a junior artist (Kate - her work on Instagram absolutely popped, so yeah, why not?). I was in the chair 2 hours later, and what a beautiful piece of work I left with. Because I was due to fly longhaul a couple of days later (tomorrow, as I write this) I asked if I could have a second skin aftercare product that i could leave for a few days... Sure. No problem! The only issue I had was that the second skin didn't adhere properly. I called in the next morning, and within 5 minutes my new tattoo was cleaned, sterilised, and a new skin attached - and 2 days later it's still perfect (but they gave me another piece, just in case). I'm visiting 'home' again next summer, and I'll definitely be booking ahead for a bigger piece. I genuinely cannot recommend this place enough - if I could award 7 stars, I would

He has an excellent eye for detail and made the day a very enjoyable experience. The studio also has a great atmosphere and all of the artists are extremely talented.

My tattoo meant a lot more than just artwork to me, and Greg was absolutely fantastic! His talent is unreal. He is a real genuine bloke and tried to make me feel as comfortable as he could. Loved the place and would never go anywhere else. Highly recommended and to really top it off they played the most amazing music all day long (80’s rock). I had breaks when I needed them, my tattooist John was very polite and friendly and very talented and it is very reasonable priced. 5 stars from me

Negative experience: The tattooists do great work, but the reception team and customer service is absolutely dire. Avoid unless you want them to deny all responsibility for their Incompetence and disorganisation and argue and raise their voices instead. Awful, avoid unless you can deal direct with the tattooist.
