Fantastic experience: I had my belly piercing done at Studio One and had a great experience. The lady was incredibly gentle and made me feel really comfortable throughout. She also explained the aftercare clearly. I’d definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had the lilly tattooed on my back around 20 years ago, but never really liked it. Been looking for someone to cover it for years but it was considered impossible so nobody would touch it, even the one’s claiming they can cover anything, plus laser wouldn’t remove it. Last year I was lucky enough to come across Jimi Southall from Studio One in Derby. After being told it couldn’t be fixed and was considered impossible he took it on and with courage, skill, and vision created this gem. Massive respect to him, insanely skilled, he absolutely nailed it. Legend and can’t thank him enough

Fantastic experience: One time, I made the mistake of going elsewhere as Karen wasn’t there! Worst mistake. I have never been treated so dearly and carefully in a piercing shop. Karen is absolutely amazing when it comes to informing you & the actual piercing process. She’s so generous and goes above and beyond! Fantastic experience: I came with a friend of mine to see Demi, she was incredibly patient and kind, my friend was struggling to decide and nervous, we were not rushed in the slightest. Since then I've come in to see Demi for 3 piercings myself and took another friend for her first piercings, we were all very nervous and Demi could not have done a better job! She was clear on after care instructions and all piercings have healed properly. I could not recommend Demi enough! I've already told anyone in need of a piercing to go to her.

Fantastic experience: Grace has been my go to artist for several years now as her work is simply stunning, I am often complimented on her work when people see it out and about. This visit was for a kelpie and from the initial conversation around design through to being tattooed Grace was incredibly professional and listened to what I wanted and provided me with a couple of designs to choose from. Grace always makes me feel at ease whilst in the chair and is happy to take breaks when needed. I will be returning to get more tattoos from Grace.

Spoke through what I was after and she was amazing, made sure everything was going to fit, explained the process and aftercare. Grace made me feel at ease the moment I arrived, and the atmosphere in the studio was welcoming, clean, and spacious. I had sent over a few ideas beforehand, and Grace took them and added her own unique style, transforming them into something truly personal. Her creativity and attention to detail were spot on—I couldn't be happier with the final piece. If you’re thinking of getting a tattoo, I can’t recommend Grace enough. Fantastic experience: I recently got a Japanese-style sleeve done by Joe Meakin at Studio One, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Joe's skill and attention to detail is incredible. He took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and brought my vision to life perfectly. The studio itself is clean, welcoming, and has a great atmosphere. Joe also did a couple of other smaller pieces for me, all of which are top-notch. I highly recommend Studio One and especially Joe Meakin for anyone looking for high-quality tattoo work!"

Fantastic experience: Had my new tat done on the 24th of may by Vince warm welcoming made me feel chilled and the tat is incredible couldn't recommend enough 100% my new tattoo artist from now on and already considering booking in again for more !

Fantastic experience: In my opinion studio one is an amazing piercing shop, ive been going to them a lot, ive had my tragus, my nose on both sides, my septum, my navel and my tongue piercing all done by Karen. I must say she is an amazing piercer, she talks you through whats going to happen, let's you ask questions before she does anything, always uses new and sterile needles, gloves, paper put down on the chair and binned once finished, (they are against guns, which is really good too), and they give you an after care sheet, and they even provide saline solution in the shop! They say to come and see them if there is any issues which is again a good thing.

Fantastic experience: A great day session with Grace in her new location at Studio One last week. Studio was easy to find right in the centre of Derby, with a chilled atmosphere in a light and airy space but still plenty of privacy. The other people in the studio were friendly and welcoming. Grace’s professional but friendly approach made the day so relaxed. Her care and attention to detail in the work will definitely have me returning for more later this year. With her advice my tattoo is well on its way to being fully healed. Recommended for all your niche geeky tattoo requirements!

Negative experience: I went here for a belly button piercing today with Karen. I had made the appointment a few days prior and she seemed lovely over messages so was very excited. Immediately she gave an extremely rude impression, where she just asked for my date of birth and phone number very abruptly. The piercing itself was done to a good standard from what I can tell, but no aftercare was explained. Just in general, she just seemed quite rude and unwelcoming which my friend who was with me also agrees with. I also did not sign any form of consent form which I didn’t really think about at the time but now seems a bit dodgy.

Fantastic experience: My 14 year old daughter got her helix and ears pierced here after having them pierced in another shop and them getting infected. She had them pierced at studio one with titanium studs as I thought they would not get infected with titanium. 2 months after the piercings they were already showing signs of infection. It turns out my daughter is allergic to titanium. She is also allergic to other metals. Months later we went to studio one to get the piercings taken out again and the lady who had originally pierced my daughters ears took the piercings out. She was very helpful and put my daughter at ease. Our doctor said some people are just allergic to metals being put in their ears. So I don't think its studio one causing people's ears to become infected sometimes I think its just the body rejecting the metal. Studio one have been fab for us. And very professional.

Negative experience: the lady peirced my belly button wrong, too high up and it got infected now i have a permanent scar in my stomach

Fantastic experience: Had front helix piercing with Karen at Studio One and was so impressed I just had to come and give my 5 stars!! Karen was so welcoming, friendly, polite and helpful. She reassured me and answered all my queries. Not only that but the icing on the cake was that I was really expecting this to hurt a lot (based on my previous front helix done elsewhere) but I had barely noticed she'd finished! When she handed me the mirror I thought she was still preparing to actually do the piercing but it was done! Mind blown! It's now the evening and honestly it still isn't hurting. Thrilled with the positioning, finish, and jewellery too. Thanks Karen!! Will definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Went to Studio One after reading many positive reviews here on Google. I was not disappointed. Demi did an amazing job piercing my right nostril, lining it up to match my left (done years ago elsewhere). She was patient, friendly and professional, getting it as close to perfect as my anatomy would allow. Would definitely go here again, and recommend. Thankyou so much Demi.

Negative experience: Got 3rd love piercings done there which got infected even after followed after care leaflet and also bought 2 belly bars from there 6 months after my piercing had healed (done at another piercing studio) very well but got them changed at the piercing studio to ensure i got it done right and caused my belly to get infected and so went to another studio to get it checked and they said i was wearing cheap jewellery

Fantastic experience: Walked in with 90 mins before my train and was seen quickly and efficiently despite no booking. The place is beautifully clean and well managed. The staff were helpful and friendly and the process smooth. Jimmy took on the speed challenge and for my first tat was really chill while creating then inking my design. Whole thing took about 45 mins and I'm already planning to go back with a friend who wants one. Fantastic off the cuff visit, brilliant service and great price. Thanks guys!

Negative experience: I picked this place based on reviews about the cleanliness etc. I had my helix done which became infected early on (I followed the advised aftercare). My hunch is that it's because the piercer used the same gloves to get a labret from the main cabinet in reception and then did the piercing without changing them. The lobe piercings I had done here are also unevenly spaced from the ones they are next to.

Fantastic experience: I've known the owner Joe for more than 20 years so this may seem a little biased, but Joe introduced me to an apprentice artist named Ania who's now completed more than 15hrs of Viking artwork on my Chest and upper arms and I can Hand on Heart say, it was the best decision I've ever made in trusting his recommendation in letting Ania work on me. I'm blown away by not only the Tattoos I've so far had done, but the warm welcome everytime I've been has been an amazing experience all in all. In addition, the actual parlour itself is stunning.! Raw brickwork, Japanese armchairs in the foyer and better toilets that I reckon you'll see in Harrods ! Excellent work Studio One ! And thanks Joe & Ania. I'm now an ink addict :)

Fantastic experience: I went to have my septum repierced. Both Demi and Karen were absolutely lovely and very professional. They made sure I had the best experience possible. The prices here are very good as well. Highly recommend this studio, I will probably make it my regular studio to go to for piercings from now on!

Fantastic experience: It's been a couple months since I got my septum done and I couldn't recommend anywhere better (from my experience). I have a very strong phobia of needles and let the lady who was doing the piercing (unfortunately I can't remember her name) know and she comforted me and made me feel a lot more comfortable with the situation. The piercing it's self took no more than 5 minutes and the healing process was a breeze, I know this wouldn't be the case for everyone but I would highly recommend studio one for piercings. I haven't had any tattoos there (yet) but I'm sure it will be a brilliant experience.

Negative experience: Walked in and immediately got unfriendly stares! But put that aside and booked to get work done. Booked in for a Saturday but due to Mt baby being ill I had to reschedule. They was sound about it. Now because I have covid and I have sent proof they can't change the date nor give a refund. I have been to many tattoo shops where I have reschedule as many times and that's fine as I paid my deposit. Wouldn't go nor recommend

Fantastic experience: Went in for a nose piercing and received great service. There with a few complications with my nose (I was allergic to the metal unbeknownst to us). Demi was so helpful and understanding and help put my mind at rest and get me sorted. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Got my daith re peirced here after I had to take it out for a previous job. The lady who did it was professional, talked through every step she was doing. All jewellery used for piercing came in a sterile packaging as well as being sterilised again. Really good. I also had my septum jewellery changed, lots of choice and really good quality.

Fantastic experience: Had my septum done here. They only use titanium which is fantastic for me as I'm allergic to most other metals. They were really accomodating as I did ask last minute if I could walk in or had to book. They had me in in no time so thank you so so much! All the kit was clearly cleaned regularly and all the health checks are spot on. If my boss allows it, I'll be back to put some more metal in my ears!

I didn’t really know what I wanted when I first went into the studio but after looking at several pictures and lots of discussion, Joe has given me a spectacular tattoo, thanks Joe, I may be back for more

Positive experience: They were very professional in how they handled the preliminary details, i.e Age consent and took a picture for ID purposes. The woman that we dealt with, for piercings was professional but quite abrupt and quite stand off ish so didn't come across very friendly. When I looked around though all the people having tattoos all seemed to be happy. All in all ok. Isn't any parking but you can park across the road on a little street in front of the shop, as it's on an extremely busy road.
