Fantastic experience: really good experience, roy made everything better and provided an amazing service

Fantastic experience: Got my septum pierced here by Roy after another piercing shop had messed it up the first time. He was very nice, funny and explained the piercing process and aftercare very well. Would 100% recommend and I’ll be back for future piercings. Shop was also very clean and hygienic.

Fantastic experience: I haven’t had any piercings since the standard lobes at age 12 so getting a helix piercing felt quite “out there” for me! I was quite anxious going in today but Zahra instantly made me feel at ease and helped pick out a gorgeous earring from their display. Roy was so kind and funny, made it go really quickly and his attention to detail was amazing. I am absolutely buzzing with my piercing and honestly couldn’t recommend the Metalurgey team highly enough! ❤️ thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: This was my first tattoo and I cannot praise the team enough. Roy and Sam explained the process in advance, and were happy to work with my idea. Sam then brought my vision to life with great care and safety. The aftercare advice from Zahra, and the touch up treatment were excellent. The whole experience was so much easier than I anticipated, and my tattoo looks great. Bravo!

Fantastic experience: I had my both of my ears pierced for the first time today. I was very nervous and anticipated it being a gruelling process. Roy was a joy to talk to though and helped put me at ease. I didn't feel rushed or pressured into starting the piercing. He told me he'd pierce one ear, and there was no pressure to get the other one done if the pain was too much. I ended up powering through both, and then I just sat and chatted away for at least a half hour. It was just a really good experience overall.

I like that they emailed the aftercare instructions, too. I was super shy and nervous and he made me so comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: A gem of Dundee. Amazing place to go for a tattoo. Her approach with the needle is gently and the dot-work is amazing. Booking in again for more work. You want a tattoo with the the best look no further - Sam’s a Monet with the tattoo machine - Super delicate and paints the skin with her own style.

Fantastic experience: Sam, Roy & Zahra are three of the nicest people that you could ever hope to meet. The studio is very clean, professional and beautiful looking, with lots of cool things on display to marvel at. There is a very good reason that this studio has stood the test of time, and remains a gem of Dundee to this day. You won't be disappointed if you get a tattoo or piercing at Metalurgey! 10/10 :)

Fantastic experience: Have come here for all of my cartilage piercings, both my conch and double helix were done perfectly, and Roy was kind enough to pierce my septum at a slightly larger gauge at my request free of charge, unbelievably great service, Roy and other staff are so lovely and I have been pierced perfectly every time, wouldn’t go anywhere else xx

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here. Zara was brilliant - super friendly, patient and really knew her stuff! I went in to purchase some new jewelry (there's a great selection to suit all budgets) but was a bit worried about my piercings. Zara offered helpful advice, cleaned out the piercings, fitted the new jewelry and I left feeling much happier about them. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I bought piercing jewellery from here and got my lip pierced here. I had absolutely no issues with either, my septum jewellery has caused no discomfort or anything like that and my lip was pierced very professionally. The only issue I had was with my lip stud falling out while my piercing was healing which is my fault not the shop's, and I was able to get it repierced the same day for £5 without an appointment. Excellent service from everyone, very clean and professional shop, never had a negative experience here!

Fantastic experience: I can say hand on heart that Roy is the best piercer out there. I've had quite a number of piercings over the years from various piercers but Roy is by far the best and here's just a few reasons why: 1. Roy keeps a clean piercing studio. 2. Very professional - you can ask him literally anything about piercings without fear of judgement. 3. Very knowledgeable about all types of piercings. 4. Honest - will not pierce something just because you want it done I.e- if you don't have the anatomy for it and he can suggest other similar piercings. 5. Makes you feel comfortable and explains everything brilliantly. And these are just my top 5 reasons, there are so many more. I highly recommend and I'll be back there for more! Fantastic experience: Really friendly and helpful, decent pricing. Both Roy and the trainee ( sorry, I'm awful with names), were professions, whilst remaining friendly and chatty. Piercing was a painless as it could be, went smoothly, and given the issues ( old asymmetrical dermals) managed to ' straighten " me up as much as possible. Very happy, highly recommend :)

Fantastic experience: Recently got pierced here and can't recommend it enough. Roy was more knowledgeable about trans bodies, hormones and the kinds of things we tend to find affirming than any healthcare professional I've ever encountered. They explained everything in depth and were immediately easy to trust, and as a result I was able to go bigger and leave even happier with my new piercings than I'd expected. Super friendly and chill. Can't imagine going anywhere else now.

Fantastic experience: Always great service and advice from here. I’ve had two piercings and continual tattoo removal which have all been reasonably priced. I haven’t felt rushed, daft for asking questions or just like another number which is great to find.

Fantastic experience: I had a piercing done by a friend but stopped in to the studio for some advice because I was worried about the position of the jewelry. The staff were super friendly and helpful, offering some insightful knowledge on the outcome of leaving the piercing alone or replacing it. If I do opt to take the jewelry out and re- pierce I'll definitely be coming back here. Top folks

Fantastic experience: Amazing and FIERCELY knowledgeable (not to mention dashing) folks with bangin' tunes and their work speaks for itself! It's also BRILLIANT to walk into a place that's as queer, cool and safe a place as this! Partner got a piercing from Roy and both they and the person on the desk (was having too much fun to ask their name, whoops and sorry!) were beyond friendly. Hope to be seeing them again soon with any luck! When looking for a piercing in Dundee/ Fife I'm not sure why you'd go anywhere else!

He was very experienced and the piercing was practically painless, which was a pleasant surprise! I was given detailed aftercare instructions and booked my downsize appointment for 8 weeks. Fantastic experience: Okay so I haven’t had a piercing from these absolutely incredible people yet! But I went in today all frazzled because my nose piercing fell out and I needed a replacement. The staff are golden. It’s such a warm and welcome environment! Everyone was so helpful and kind, they make you feel at home. They even put in my new piercing for me! Like the thoughtfulness alone is 100/100. I’ll be back for any future piercings, I have a couple in mind, because I just know I’ll be in safe hands here and have an incredible experience. Fantastic experience: Went to have my septum pierced and jewellery in another piercing changed. Guys in the shop were very helpful. Everything is very clean and organised, and I even got a new carrier bag for my shopping as mine was broken (Thanks!). The piercer was very knowledgeable and friendly and actually managed to reopen my 10 year old septum piercing so I didn’t have to have a new piercing! They also made some beautiful custom jewellery for my labret piercing. There is a vibe in the shop that they are all very passionate and dedicated to their trade and taking the time to get things right for their customers.

Positive experience: I got two tongue piercings here (already had one) and the middle one was nowhere near the middle and was really squint in my tongue, I was a little disappointed because the another one was good and healed perfectly and everyone one here was so lovely
