Fantastic experience: I had my first tattoo done by Rachel before Christmas and I’ve been meaning to leave my review… honestly, she was incredible. From the prep and what to expect beforehand to the moment I walked in, she made me feel calm and comfortable - she has this lovely grounded energy that ousts you at ease. She took time to listen to my ideas then created something even more beautiful than I’d imagined. The lines are so fine and precise, and the detail is stunning. The whole experience felt calm, professional, and surprisingly peaceful - even the moments I was nervous about. I waked out not just with a beautiful piece of art, but with a real sense of doing something for myself. Thank you Rachel - you made it feel special from start to finish

Fantastic experience: The studio itself is very clean, sanitary and beautiful to look at, and all of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I had a white ink tattoo by Monami, who is a sweetheart, and walked me through every step and explained everything clearly, including aftercare. She was very understanding, and patient, and my tattoo couldn’t have gone any better! I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: This trip was a lot of firsts for me: It was my first trip to Liverpool, and my first time meeting Rachel. I’d seen her tattoos on insta and knew I wanted some of her designs for myself. The shop is easy to get to from the train station (Lime Street) and everyone I interacted with in the shop were really kind. I was really nervous as I was somewhere completely new and on my own. Rachel was so welcoming and patient with me. I would definitely recommend! Plus I love my new tattoos

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked into the studio, everything was perfect — a beautiful place, the light, the colors, the tattoo designs and prints on the walls, the layout of each artist’s space, the cleanliness, the sanitary preparation protocol before the tattoo, the music — as I said, everything was absolutely perfect for me. I 100% recommend (and even more!) visiting Bold as Brass for a tattoo in Liverpool. It’s been the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had! Now, the full story. I came to Liverpool on vacation from Chile, and the experience at Bold as Brass was the absolute highlight of the trip — it takes first place and wins all the awards. First, because Liverpool is everything I love, and second, because the studio owners, Nick and Rachel, are incredibly kind and friendly people (and no doubt the whole team is too). I had contacted Rachel to book an appointment during our trip, but unfortunately our schedules didn’t align. While exploring the city with my partner, we stopped by the studio to check it out, and we decided to ask if anyone had availability — that’s how we met Nick. We chose one of his flash tattoos and came back a couple of hours later as agreed. From that moment on, everything flowed — we got tattooed and created an unforgettable memory of our trip. Thank you, Nick!!!

Fantastic experience: we met Rachel (shop owner) on tour in the UK last year and instantly fell in love with her and her artwork! We were so excited to make it to the shop today to get some fun tour tattoos! It was such a great experience and we’ll be coming back every time we are back in town!!!! She is such a delight to hang out with while getting tattooed, and she has the best flash ever to choose from, and of course can do any custom work! Fantastic experience: I travelled from Southampton to get tattooed by Anrijs. I felt quite nervous going into a new studio, so far from home and also the pain level of the area I was getting tattooed. Even prior to the appointment, Anrijs was really helpful via email and the booking process was a breeze. As soon as I stepped into the studio, I was welcomed and felt at ease which was lovely. Anrijs took time with the stencil to ensure it was perfect and always made sure I was happy. During the session, I was walked through the steps that he was taking and was always checked up on which was really nice because it was a big tattoo. Even though it was an awkward placement to speak to my artist, Anrijs made the time to chat to me throughout the appointment which was really nice and again made me feel comfortable. Rachel was also in the studio this day and was super helpful and welcoming also and it was so lovely to speak to artists that I have followed for years. The tattoo speaks for itself, the talent, time and professionalism blew my mind. I am obsessed with the tattoo and it is truly a piece of art. I literally had the best experience, and as a customer this is also what makes it for me. The studio is super clean and spotless. I love all of the decor in the studio too, there is so much to look at and as an artist, it definitely inspires you too while being sat for a day session. I can’t thank Anrijs and Bold As Brass for having me in the studio and I can’t recommend it enough. If I lived closer I’m pretty sure I’d be here constantly! But I cannot wait to visit one day again.

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in, lovely friendly artists who make you feel relaxed. This was my first tattoo so a little apprehensive but Jess made sure I was happy with everything before I sat at the chair. She did superb line work, hardly felt a thing and really happy with the result. Cool building with lots of toys, models, dolls, prints etc to look at while getting your tattoo done. Great advice on aftercare as well. I will be back for my next one soon.

Beth works extremely quickly and efficiently without compromising on quality or comfort. Fantastic experience: I needed something covered up and when I saw Nicks work I knew that’s the sort of style I’d love, he worked with me on designs and it never felt like I was bothering him with questions I had and design ideas I’d send over on Instagram. I ended up booking a full day with him and left with some awesome pieces that are the start of a bigger project. Fantastic experience: My husband and I got tattooed by Rachel back in June 2024, while on our honeymoon from Canada. We initially saw her work on Tiktok and knew we had to get something to remind us of our trip and her work seemed a perfect fit. I reached out and booked our appointments. From start to finish of first contact to booking was flawless, even with the 5hr time difference. The actual tattoos were stunning (we gave ideas and she ran with them) and they healed BEAUTIFULLY. I got a Paramore design and my husband a blink-182 one. We told her which colours took best to our skin and she came up with the perfect combinations for each of us. The studio itself was gorgeously clean and had a great vibe. There was a bench to sit on for doing the online waiver and sweets available to those who needed them. Thank you again, Rachel. Fantastic experience: Me and my wife done the “you get what you get” tattoo challenge (Fleetwood Mac theme) it was such an amazing experience. Rachel was so kind to us right from the start and made us feel so comfortable. She talked us through everything and made sure we were happy with each step. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! I go to Jess and Have gotten 3 tattoos now. I get loads of compliments. She really adds so much detail. Great environment and chat. She works pretty fast so even for bigger pieces it doesn’t take too long. Always feel welcomed and accommodated.
