We had a great chat throughout, and he made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. His apprentice Meg was also fantastic, really friendly, super helpful, and clearly passionate about the industry. The two of them make a top-notch team. One of the coolest parts was getting to see Jay’s collection of tattoo memorabilia. It's unreal, you can tell he lives and breathes tattoo culture, and that dedication shines through in his work. The tattoo he gave me is absolutely beautiful. The detail, the linework, everything, it’s exactly what I wanted and more. I couldn’t be happier with it. I’d recommend Dermagraffiti, and Jay in particular, to anyone looking for a high-quality tattoo from genuinely great people. 10/10 experience.

He was super friendly, entertaining with great stories, and really put me at ease throughout. 4.5 hours in the chair flew by! Jay was massively conscientious about hygiene, which made me feel completely comfortable and reassured. Worth every penny! I’ll definitely be going back, and would not go anywhere else (and I have been too a few artists previously) – cannot recommend highly enough!

Fantastic experience: Jay did a flash tattoo for myself and 5 of my friends. He stayed almost 2 hours after closing to fit us all in and spent a great deal of time and care between each one, to clean and prepare for the next, making sure we were all looking after and comfortable. Fantastic experience: I went today to get my first ever tattoo in memory of my grandpa who passed away in 2021. Jay was absolutely amazing and made sure I was settled and wasn’t as nervous as when I first sat down. Fantastic experience: Came for a walk-in with my friend and was seen to really quickly. Jay was absolutely fantastic and made me feel very comfortable, we chatted away for the whole time. He was extremely detail oriented and thorough in making sure everything was pigmented properly and that the line work was as clean as possible. The studio was perfectly clean and Jay was diligent with changing his gloves, needles, paper towels etc. It was a great experience, I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Really accommodating, especially given I was a walk-in. Really quickly got my design printed up and talked me through where I wanted it and what size. The artist was so friendly and chatty, and was clearly a real professional. Really appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail with the tattooing.

Fantastic experience: As soon as I came in I was welcomed by Jay and Meg who have been so lovely. Jay tattooed myself and my friend Broghan took good time in making sure that we are comfortable, letting us know when long parts of the tattoo were being done. It was never awkward or uncomfortable talking to either of them and at the end despite myself already knowing how to take care of tattoos he gave me a full service and reminded me. Overall 10 out of ten experience. Definitely coming again !!

I love my tattoo it's exactly how I wanted it and couldn't be happier. Fantastic lines and colour on the tattoo. The shop has a great look and vibe to it and the staff are very friendly. Jay immediately puts you at ease and was happy to answer any questions honestly. It's also worth going to get a tattoo just to sit and listen to Jay's wealth of knowledge on tattooing as well as numerous other subjects. He talk while he's tattooing and keeps you distracted, as well as checking your comfortable throughout, but absolutely no time wasting, non stop like a workhorse and great value for money. Fantastic experience: I got a tattoo from Jay yesterday and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results and as a person of colour I had no idea of the different techniques that are used to ensure my tattoos maintain their appearance & longevity. Jay was super friendly and knowledgable when advising me on the level of detail and sizing of the tattoo I wanted. When tattooing my rib cage area he was very respectful and I felt completely safe! Having only met Jay twice I still felt like I had been coming to dermagrafiti for years, the whole experience start to finish was a laugh and I couldn’t recommend them more. Don’t cheat on your tattoo artists ladies & gents you’ll regret going somewhere else !

Positive experience: Came here in Dec 21' for my mum to get a tattoo. Conveniently located on Bold St in Liverpool City Centre with nearby parking and bus access nearby. Good customer service as we only wanted a letter to add to an existing tattoo and they offered a range of fonts and styles. We were really grateful as this was just before xmas and not many tattoo places were still open as we'd looked around everywhere. The process was quite quick and the friendly tattoo artist helped ease our worries. Accessibility isn't great however with a set of stairs leading to the studio and so may not be suited for elderly people but was well worth it. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Tattoo done 6.01.24 Went in with my sister as a walk in and everyone is super friendly and the studio has a relaxed atmosphere so it's easy to feel comfortable. It was also really cool to see pieces of artwork and tattoo history !! Our artist was Jay and he was so easy to chat too whilst getting tattooed and also his work is amazing too !! Negative experience: 2019 my partner got a medium sized lion tattooed on her upper arm. This piece was charged by the hour. The piece that could have been easily been completed within two hours (and two hours is definitely an over generous amount of time) as it was a pretty basic design, took much longer than this. Therefore she was majorly overcharged in price. This piece cost £300. I have never ever ever known a tattoo of this size and detail to cost that much. I myself have had a much more detailed bigger tattoo done by an experienced artist for £60. During her piece, the tattooist (who is also the owner) was talking, stopping tattooing to talk, talking with a friend in the shop ect. The guy was nice enough (and she loves the tattoo) but it was very clear that this was a classic tactic to drag out the length of time she was in the shop to overcharge her. Also the pupils on the tattoo are odd. Definitely better quality cheaper tattoo shops in the area that I've look into before coming here.

Fantastic experience: Such an amazing experience with these guys. Down Liverpool for the weekend and these guys made getting tattooed so easy and comfortable. If I was a local this place would be my regular!

Negative experience: I had previously given this place 5 stars. I really liked the friendly staff and Jack did a good job although my tattoo was basic. J was also very friendly. This was my first tattoo and I agree I must have done something wrong during the care but when I went for the touch up the counter staff suddenly became rude and when I told them I didn’t do it intentionally, suddenly I was the one who was rude. Well they refused to do the touch up and offer any more services because I was rude to the counter staff. But I guess that’s subjective because I wasn’t, I was just telling them I didn’t do it intentionally. My experience unfortunately didn’t turn out to be good but other reviews for this place are good so maybe worth going there specially if you have more experience with tattoos because clearly they’re very experienced.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! Jay is a meticulous in his preparation and execution. He filled the time with many stories but still kept checking in to ensure I was comfortable. I will definitely return for more work!

Negative experience: Fine if you're looking for a very basic tat. They weren't very flexible on the design. I was running late to my appointment, so I called in advance to let them know. The receptionist said that was fine, but when I arrived I heard Pete (who's since retired) screaming his head off in the next room about my punctuality. When I sat down with him I apologised again & he was fine with it lol odd bloke. Regarding the tattoo, the surface is raised, meaning he scarred the skin. This is an experienced tattoo artist, so can't help but think this could've been some weird form of punishment for arriving late? Anyway we had a nice chat & he told me about how he used to live in Germany. P.S. I had to get my tattoo covered up. Wouldn't recommend.

Jack is so knowledgeable, I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to him whilst he tattooed me and I absolutely love my tattoo - the artefacts around the premises are incredible!! Highly recommend and I’ll certainly return for any other work I want to have done.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful experience from start to finish, Jay was so calming and professional, took 6.5 hours to cover up my old tattoo but it felt only like a couple of hours. Jay chatted all the way through putting me at my ease. My tattoo looks amazing and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Meg was also very comforting throughout telling me how good it was coming on. Fantastic experience: First went to this shop as a walk in back in December for a little piece, loved it . Was back today for a tattoo designed by Jack , who is amazing . The place is so clean and they just make you feel comfortable. Love them and will be going back .. highly recommend

Fantastic experience: We went in today for a walk in. Amazing customer service start to finish. The owner clearly loves his shop & actually cares about his clients. They lovely friendly lady on front desk was very helpful with our questions sorry I didn’t catch her name. Our tattoos was done by Jack again very friendly & did a great job. Fantastic experience: Excellent service! I had a tattoo yesterday .I met Jack twice before the tattoo to discuss the design. He was very helpful through the whole process. I'm a bit of an older lady but was made to feel really relaxed. I have to say its a true work of art and I could not be happier. The girl on the desk was very helpful and efficient too. Thoroughly recommend this place and Jack, he's a great tattoo artist.
