Fantastic experience: Had such a great experience at S13 for my first tattoo - right from the start I felt comfortable and completely looked after. Rowan absolutely nailed my (very vague!) brief and turned it into something better than I could have imagined. The whole process was relaxed and the finished piece is unreal. Can’t recommend highly enough if you’re after incredible blackwork with a thoughtful, personal, highly professional experience

Professional tattoo artist that is patient, clearly values their customers and most importantly hygiene in the workspace. Aftercare advice was greatly appreciated too. Negative experience: I got a small tattoo from Rowan in March while studying abroad in the UK. I'm a student from Canada, and this was meant to be a meaningful experience — but it ended up being incredibly disappointing. The tattoo was rushed — finished in well under an hour despite costing over £100 — and the lines were visibly uneven. It also doesn’t look like the reference image I gave which had gently blended colours and a different shape entirely. I reached out several times over the next three months for a touch-up. While I did miss one message where she offered to squeeze me in last-minute, the bigger issue was that she kept booking new clients instead of making time to fix work she’d already done. March to June should have been more than enough time to correct a small tattoo. But after months of chasing, she finally booked me in — four months after the original appointment. I planned this touch-up to align with my graduation trip back to the UK. Today, the day of the appointment, I had to message her just to find out she was sick and wouldn’t be coming. Apparently she posted about it on her Instagram story days ago — but I don’t know why clients are expected to check stories to learn their appointments are cancelled. I fly out of the country tomorrow. There’s no more time to fix it. I originally left a 5-star review when Rowan was cooperative about arranging a touch-up — but after months of delay, lack of communication, and a cancelled appointment with no notice, I felt it was important to update my review to reflect the full experience. If you're going to take on new clients, you should be making time for your existing ones — especially when something needs correcting. Own your mistakes. Finish what you start — and do it properly.

Fantastic experience: Just got my 1st tattoo here today and I couldn't be happier, the tattoo itself turned out amazing, exactly what I asked for and and so neat and precise. Rowan was awesome, was super friendly and accommodating making the whole experience super nice to go through. The studio itself was spotlessly clean and hygiene was perfect. Would absolutely recommend going here for tattoos.

Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo from Rowan! I wanted to immortalise my darling Luna who passed. Rowan was so accommodating, asked if I needed water, made sure I was okay, telling me if I needed a break to just let her know. My friend was able to sit right next to me too and calm any nerves that hadn't already been settled by Rowan! The tattoo its self is so beautiful, and I could of sat and just stared in awe at her work. Thank you so so much!! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love getting tattoos from Rowan!! I had 2 stunning tattoos already from her before getting one done at Society13. The location is nice and cosy, and has excellent vibes. Rowan's surrealism style is exactly what I look for in tattoos; I adore all 3 I've got from her and she gives easy to follow aftercare instructions every time. She is such a lovely person and is incredibly accommodating, it's always a great experience being tattooed by her! Any query or questions I had about a tattoo or an upcoming appointment she was able to help me with and we managed to find a solution. I would highly recommend Rowan if you want an awesome tattoo at a really nice studio! :)

Fantastic experience: I reached out to Society Thirteen due to being let down by my local tattoo shop and I'm so glad it worked out that way! I wanted birth flowers for me & my 2 children. I didn't know what I was expecting but this is so much more than that. The realism, the artwork, the effort that has gone into this tattoo by Ash is utterly amazing. I'm needle phobic as well so once we were at the shop both Ash & Kelsey calmed me so much, so friendly and professional I had a very enjoyable experience. Fantastic experience: was tattooed by ash to fill in my right leg sleeve and make corrections on tattoos from a different studio - after 6hrs he got a huge amount of quality work done, and was great to work with & figure out how my leg should look. i was comfortable, and felt like i was being listened to & taken seriously :) will be back in April to finish off my leg!

Fantastic experience: Just had a tattoo done at Society 13 today and i was hurrying home to write this review! I was with Ashton and Kelsey today and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Lovely staff, wonderful conversation, and very reasonable pricing. The tattoo itself was stunning and was finished with the greatest attention to detail and care :) (it’s still a bit fresh, otherwise i would post a photo). They were very thorough in explaining the tattoo process and aftercare procedures and they soothed my nerves very quickly as soon as the conversation started flowing. Couldn’t recommend this spot enough! Will be going back as soon as my wallet allows lol :)

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service from start to finish. When I arrived outside Society Thirteen, I was warmly greeted by Kelsey into the studio. Ash and Kelsey both took the time to build a rapport with me which helped to settle my nerves about getting my first tattoo. Ash went over the design for my tattoo, a lotus flower on my wrist, clarifying the size and placement, and the process. I was anxious about getting a tattoo due to scarring on my arm, and queried this with Ash prior to going through with my tattoo. I was not only reassured, but really impressed by his knowledge. I could tell straightaway that Ash was a highly passionate and credible tattoo artist who takes great pride in his work. Ash conversed with me whilst I was having my tattoo done and made what seemed like a daunting process feel surprisingly easy and comfortable. Afterwards, he talked me through the after care and provided me with an after care package which included a special balm, instructions, stickers and a lollipop Ash and Kelsey are without a doubt both personable and down to earth people, and they really care about providing an exceptional customer experience. I am really glad I made the decision to get a tattoo, and to have it done by Society Thirteen. Thank you, Ash, for your incredible work, I sincerely love my tattoo. Fantastic experience: Had the perfect first experience of a tattoo today at Society 13 with the amazing artists Kelsey and Ash. They were extremely friendly and made me feel very comfortable first, to settle any nerves I had and to also make sure the tattoo came out exactly how I wanted it in terms of size and style. Fantastic experience: Had an absolutely delightful first experience with Society Thirteen Tattoo Studio. My partner and I had an idea of the fine line style tattoos we wanted and Ash interpreted it beautifully and instilled his evident knowledge and experience into the designs he created for us. He advised us on certain aspects of the designs to get the best out of what we wanted to achieve, and the final pieces were so much better than what we'd originally imagined. The tattoo studio itself was very clean and tidy. Both Ash and Kelsey were very welcoming and accommodating; my partner and I both hadn't had tattoos for a long time and Ash and Kelsey were very easy to talk to and provided helpful information and advice throughout. We had a great time and absolutely adore the end results - we will certainly be back for more!

Fantastic experience: Ive been going here for years now and refuse to go anywhere else. After getting another beautiful tattoo the other day I will never stop raving about this place. Fantastic experience: I reached out to Society Thirteen for my first professional tattoo, and it is without a doubt that I had the best first experience I could have asked for. The studio was clean, well looked after and the artists - Ashton and Kelsey - were amazing. Both of them were professional, friendly, polite, honest and selfless in their approach. Above all, it’s evident that they’re very knowledgeable and experienced and from the moment I walked in, I was confident that I was in safe hands. I started by signing some papers to make the artists aware of any possible conditions I might have that might complicate the process - they’re very thorough with regards to this, placing your safety first. We then discussed the design of the tattoo, where to place it and how we’ll approach everything. Ashton - who did my tattoo - pays a lot of attention to detail and is very careful to ensure that everything is right and that you’re happy. Again, this filled me with confidence. The results were fantastic, and I’ve not been able to stop smiling since leaving the studio. Moreover, I was informed of everything I might need to know about the aftercare process - the explanation was very thorough which I really did appreciate. I was looked after very well, I was comfortable and I enjoyed the conversations we had. I highly recommend Society Thirteen, and I’m certain that I’ll be returning in the near future. Fantastic experience: I spent 7 years deciding on my tattoo and I spoke with a multitude of tattooists before choosing Ash to do my tat He was friendly, professional and enthusiastic about doing my tat. I have mobility issues and he reassured me that it wasn't an issue. My tattoo is exactly what I wanted, I am so happy with it!!! It was nice to be in a space that was warm and welcoming, rather than intimidating as some places I visited. As a richly melanted women, I was concerned about having colour in my tat, but Ash was not concerned and explained what would give me the best outcome. Tattoo design and execution were absolutely flawless, he was awesome and really interesting to chat with and made us feel really at ease. Fantastic experience: Decided to get my first ever tattoo the other day and it was a very big piece. I was so anxious but from the moment I stepped in to the moment I left with the tattoo I had never felt more at home. The shop welcomes you very warmly, very accommodating, and does not discriminate in the slightest (was very worried as I am a person of colour) and is overall the loveliest environment. The result of my tattoo is gorgeous, so in love with it. I keep getting compliments from everyone!

Fantastic experience: 3 generations of our family visited Society Thirteen today , and had an amazing day under the care of Ash & Celsea (sorry if I’ve misspelt your name). Such a professional & friendly tattoo studio. We were made to feel so welcome , incredible hospitality (thank you for all the tea & coffee), so many nice touches such as aftercare provided in a take home tin. And to top it all off , what we actually went for , FANTASTIC tattoos! Such great value for money , highly recommend this place to anyone , I will certainly be booking again and again.

Fantastic experience: The outside of the studio looks a bit sketchy but as soon as I went in the environment was really welcoming and professional. Ash is super experienced, very candid, and really easy to talk to. I sent him a half formed idea and a Pinterest board and I loved the result. He was more than happy to tweak the design for me, both when he was drawing it out and when he'd finished the tat. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready for a lower sleeve. I've had loads of compliments on the piece already. I'd definitely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Came to get a cover up of a bad tattoo from a different studio. Ash was incredible in designing me the perfect amendment to my tattoo that was consistent with my desired style. All of the staff were incredible in making me feel welcome, relaxed and at home. Tattoo looks incredible and is healing well so far. Can't recommend Society 13 enough. Fantastic experience: This was my first tattoo and honestly, I couldn't have had a better experience. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and had sent photos but Ash's artwork was genuinely amazing. He'd weaved together all the different elements of the tattoo in a way that worked really well. Ash was really friendly and chatted throughout the tattoo, making me feel completely at ease. He explained everything that would happen, what everything was for and how he was going to achieve the effect in the tattoo that I wanted. I was really impressed by his knowledge and skill in creating the tattoo. He gave clear aftercare instructions, including what was normal and what wasn't and I feel like I have a thorough understanding of the healing process. I'm already thinking about my next tattoo and will definitely coming back to the studio in future!

Fantastic experience: It’s been just over 2 weeks since I had my first tattoo at this studio and it’s healed really nicely, the oil I was given did a good job. This was my first tattoo here and the people were really welcoming and made me feel comfortable, very professional and experienced tattoo artist who slightly altered the design when I asked and readjusted the tattoo position until it was perfect. Would definitely recommend and I will go again if I have another tattoo :)

Fantastic experience: I had such a fab day having my tattoo done! Ash was very thorough & precise with his work (as well as it didn’t take ages). I felt reassured & the communication was excellent around making sure I was happy with the design, position, & size of my tattoo. The design was fantastic, I sent in 3 pictures for ideas & the best parts were all combined together for my one design. I was so shocked of how amazing it turned out & was blown away after it was completed with the end result. Not only was it a professional service, it was also a friendly and comfortable experience. I also appreciated Ash making conversations to take my mind off the pain of the tattoo. Would definitely recommend this place! They definitely don’t disappoint!

My mum came with me and got her first ever tattoo (and it wasn't a small one!) and Ash was so calm and reassuring and really helped her make decisions on little changes to her design. Fantastic experience: Firstly I cannot speak highly enough of this studio and my review will not do them justice! Had an arm piece done by Ash and he was incredible! Not only was he calming and helpful when having a consultation, he was honest and told me my initial idea wouldn't work but he had a plan and to trust me. That I did! And if I didn't this absolutely wonderful piece would never have been born and like I said words can't describe how good it is! During the tattoo he was so kind and caring and the whole place was very clean and respectable! So if you want an amazing tattoo from a clean and respectable place look no further!

Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo done here and I could not be happier with the service I received. I was unbelievably nervous but both members of staff really calmed my nerves and answered any questions I had. I really liked how throughout the entire duration of mine and my friends tattoo's that we were the only ones in the studio, this made the whole experience way more personal and I felt so much more at ease. Fantastic experience: Amazing experience here for my first tattoo. Booking process was really easy and my tattoo was designed exactly how I described it. A few tweaks had been made which definitely looked better than what I had described and these were talked through with me before the stencil was printed and applied. Even though I was only having a small tattoo I felt very valued as a customer. Tattoo has healed well and after care instructions were gone through thoroughly. I liked that it was only me in there for an appointment, makes you feel really valued. Will definitely be returning for my next tattoo ! Highly recommend.
