2 months ago Fantastic experience: Mimi was my artist and did my best tattoo yet! My new favourite!!! It was a cover up and I knew I was in good hands right away. Mimi came highly recommended, so I drove 5 hours, and it was a great experience from start to finish. She was totally organized, listened deeply, and designed exactly what I’d hoped for right there on the spot! It was so professional and SO fast . She is also a junior artist so her prices do not reflect her talent- she charges way less and does epic work . Like honestly ! 3 months ago Negative experience: I went to this place about 4 years ago and they where very clean and really nice but for four years this piercing has still never healed I’ve had problems with it non stop and I have three piercings in my ears and the other two have never been a problem. Just these ones. Not sure how to add photos but it’s probably best I don’t because it’s gross. Just a heads up read reviews first.
Hi Ella, the piercer recommends a downsize in the bar length after 8-12 weeks. (This appointment cost minus the jewellery is included in your originally piercing cost and is available for everyone who gets a piercing within a year of the piercing date). This also means the piercer can look at your piercing and make sure everything is healing correctly & can help you trouble shoot any problems that could be happening. Unfortunately since we’re not sure this happened it’s hard to say what could be causing your issue. If you would like some help please contact us and we would be happy to get you in to see the piercer.
3 months ago Negative experience: Was thinking of getting pierced here but after realizing the owner who has a chin piercing instead of a vertical labret was the one promoting it I decided to look at reviews before booking. Only replying to the flood reviews and not trying to rectify or acknowledge any of the bad reviews tells me everything I need to know about this place. Would you let someone open your skin that cant even take accountability for their mistakes? I wouldnt! Also they offer a smiley piercing? Any reputable piercer would highly suggest against this. I’ve also heard she told someone to rub RAW GARLIC on their piercing. Dont come here.

5 months ago Fantastic experience: Just got my navel pierced and it went so smoothly ! Leela was very straight forward with me and everything was super sanitary and organized. I didn’t even shed a tear! Thank you very much Highly recommend!
6 months ago Negative experience: Environment and staff are welcoming and friendly. That is where my positive experience ended. The initial piercing was ok, I hated the corkscrew jewelry and was looking forward to get it downsized and replaced with a flat back. When I went to my downsizing appt. I was told that its recommenced to remain with the corkscrew, his is where it all went wrong. It was the most painful experience and Leela couldn't get the new jewelry in for a good while. The jewelry is super cheap and my nose has been constantly angry, itchy and red. I went to a different shop today to have my jewelry switched out with quality jewelry and was told that a corkscrew should never go in at a downsizing appt. I was also extremely disappointed to find out that the "downsized" jewelry was longer and thicker than the original one placed in my nose. That was clearly not a downsize!! My nose feels 100% better with only having my new quality stud in for a few hours.
7 months ago Fantastic experience: They were amazing with my industrial piercing we came late cuz I just had a horrible hair appointment she was late for dying my hair and they still did my piercing and i absolutely love it the people were super nice and my piercing is wonderful I’m coming back at Christmas for my septum super excited

8 months ago Negative experience: I went to get my second helix piercing along with my double lobes in June 2025. The service itself was good, clean and sterile. The issue occurred later when I got home as I noticed the second lobe piercings were way too close to my Original lobe piercings and that meant I could not wear any of my earrings without them rubbing. Leela was apologetic when I messaged her with my concerns. I ended up having to take them out within 48 hours. The second issue was with my helix piercing. It was placed under a preexisting helix piercing that was fully healed. After it was done the piercing felt a bit crooked compared to the pre existing one but I did not think much of it. The healing process for the helix piercing was not great as a big bump was growing causing the piercing to become very painful. Due to this I went to a piercer in Ottawa who informed me the piercing was so crooked it was causing scar tissue damage, hence the bump and I would never be able to wear a hoop in that hole like I envisioned. In the attached photos you can see how crooked the piercing is as it’s facing out sideways. Along with the scar tissue damage. Unfortunately I had to take that piercing out today too. So in the end I paid for 3 piercings that were all done improperly that I had to take out. Not very impressed.

9 months ago Fantastic experience: My son and I had a fantastic experience here for a jewelry removal (ear lobe). CJ was so very professional and the other two ladies were more than helpful and friendly, accommodating us as walk-in's. The decor and atmosphere was very welcoming and nicely done. Thanks again! 9 months ago Negative experience: Came in to check out some jewelry, definitely not the best first impression of this place. Lady who were working the front was very nice and helpful and told us we could touch the jewelry to see which we wanted to get. when we took the board up to the front what im assuming to be the owner, came up and began to get upset with the girl working the front saying customers shouldn't be walking around with it which i completely understand yet it became an issue and everyone was just getting upset, could've been approached a different way. just as we were about to leave they were talking about then again what im assuming is the boss that she needs help and to be put in a hospital. i dont doubt that the work they do is amazing, just something small like that shouldnt have gone into what we seen, just very unprofessional to talk about this infront of customers, if you have an issue with one of your workers you talk to them in private.
10 months ago Fantastic experience: The BEST piercing place I’ve ever been to! They are so knowledgeable and friendly. They make sure your anatomy works with the piercing you want. I’ve had to many piercings and have never been to a shop with such attentive people. Also, I truly recommend CJ! She is phenomenal, caring and so passionate.

Had a consult about a piercing I had gotten somewhere else, and they changed the jewelry to the proper bar, and recovered my seconds all with a walk in appointment! 1 year ago Fantastic experience: I went in last week to get a Tattoo for my older brother. Mimi was beyond amazing at what she did, I could not be happier with the finished tattoo and her knowledge (she knew more about the design then I originally did). I ended up have to bring my son with me and they were beyond amazing with him. They made him feel welcomed and comfortable as well as myself. 1 year ago Fantastic experience: Leela and CJ were absolutely amazing! They know how to calm your nerves and put your mind at ease. Juice and fidget toys were offered as soon as I stepped in the door! Every step of the peircing was thoroughly explained before any needles came out haha. The staff are super friendly, and well educated. An after care-care package was given to me as well as instructions, and contact information in case anything concerns me at all. 10/10 would recommend. And will definetly come back in the future!

1 year ago Fantastic experience: I was so happy to finally get my nose pierced and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to go. Tiffany the lady in the front was so welcoming the second I walked in the doors, she offered me and my friends a drink and led us to the comfy waiting room. Leela my piercer was so friendly which helped my nerves go right away, I’m obsessed with my piercing and these girls where truly such welcoming people. The shop was so comfortable and there’s was nothing but good vibes I recommend them 100%

1 year ago Fantastic experience: My first time visiting Just Poke It. Was looking for a touch up on a 20yr old tattoo. Instantly felt comfortable with Tiffany, which certainly relieved some nerves! I booked with Jessie, an apprentice, and couldn't be happier with the work she did. She was 6 when I originally had the work done elsewhere and brought it back to life. Great experience, great work, great shop. So good, I'm coming back Monday!

1 year ago Negative experience: (Not my first time at the studio) I recently came in for a tattoo appointment I booked weeks in advance and ended up leaving with nothing. Losing my deposit. I explained everything I had wanted in my messages to the studio, and sent pictures….the message details of what I wanted were not communicated to the artist and the drawn up tattoo was not at all what I had asked for. I also had to check in a week after asking about a tattoo appointment because they forgot to message back. The artists at this studio are amazing and it’s SO UNFORTUNATE that the reception is not passing messages forward to the artists and costing them clients. I was offered (by the artist) to have it redrawn, which I declined, as I’ve had many tattoos done and this experience was awful. I was also offered (again by the artist) a discount which I also refused as I don’t want to return to the studio. If the artist was tattooing anywhere else I would return. I feel as though the artist shouldn’t be apologizing and offering me anything as it is not their fault. The studio should have been apologizing Please work on your communication with the artists for future clients as I will never return to your studio again.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: Noah got his ears re-pierced today! He had them pierced a couple years ago, but had to take them out during a 35 day hospital admission, and they grew over. Today, Noah finally got to get his ears re-pierced. Leela at Just Poke It (Kingston), originally pierced his ears. She was absolutely wonderful with him then, and so accepting and accommodating of his special needs. Noah asked to have his ears re-pierced by Leela, again and we were so happy to book with her. She was just as incredible this time around. It was amazing to see the studio and its growth over the last couple years. It is such a zen and welcoming environment. There is even a fidget basket for those that need a distraction while the piercing is happening! They offered Noah juice, snacks - anything he might need to feel as comfortable as possible. To our surprise, he just hopped right up on the chair, ready to go; this speaks volumes about the business and staff. Thank you for making our little man feel extra special on this very exciting day. I highly recommend Just Poke It, for anyone interested in piercings or tattoos. You won’t just feel like another customer, you’ll feel like part of the team. ❤️

Luna tattooed me and she did such an amazing job. She was gentle and let me take breaks (I don’t like needles) leela was also super helpful finding a perfect jewelry piece for my face that was also super affordable. Leela has also pierced me and my family before. She’s such a great person and does such an amazing job. She educates you on everything you need. Thank you just poke it for everything. 1 year ago Fantastic experience: I walked into Just Poke It last year on a random Friday the 13th to get my first tattoo. The environment was super welcoming and organized. From explaining what to expect as a first timer, to the after care instructions, everything was top notch. That same day I saw Ceces designs and was bummed out she was fully booked. Fast forward 2 months, we lost our baby girl. I reached out to Cece for a memorial piece, she was responsive, very kind, and did an amazing customer service piece. I’ll never forget what she said to me when I left that day, “Make sure that you and your wife take care of each other.” I came back again for a statement piece on my left arm by Cece, once again top notch care on the design, the workmanship and making sure I was happy with everything. Safe to say that Cece is my go to artist for any piece that carries meaning in my life (Father’s Day tattoo, family tattoo, etc). Combining the pride that Cece takes in her work and her customer service with all the staff at Just Poke It, makes this one of, if not the best tattoo shop in Kingston. I’m happy that I walked in on a whim and met Cece as an apprentice and now as lead artist!

1 year ago Fantastic experience: The studio managed to be both very clean and very welcoming and cozy. It was clear that a lot of love and work went into creating this environment. Things like all of the employees being welcoming and kind to a mini fridge with water bottles and juice for customers added so much to the experience. I was also given an aftercare bag with all sorts of things to help with recovery which felt just very very kind. The prices are simply amazing for the services rendered and I will be coming here for all of my tattoo/piercing needs from now on. However my stylist Mimi Irving was without a doubt the highlight of the experience. She designed a tattoo that looked exactly how I specified with fantastic artistic input on the design. Despite being an apprentice Mimi's skill, service, and speed are well beyond her years and I would have to recommend anyone looking for a tattoo to her. I have never felt this taken care of at a tattoo/piercing place and I am grateful for all of the work put into JustPokeIt Studio to have made it this way.

I needed jewelry removed and then reinserted for a medical procedure, and the team was so kind, professional, and accommodating. They made the whole process smooth and easy, all while being genuinely funny and friendly. The studio itself is clean, welcoming, and has a great atmosphere. 1 year ago Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here, i got my earlobes pierced about 9 weeks ago, leela and tiffany are such kind and down to earth people it was awesome. Just today I got my free jewelry change(small silver hoops) and they look really nice! And again, had a great experience with tiffany and leela. Prices are relatively cheap especially when you have service like this, 100% worth it + you pay no taxes if you bring cash, who doesnt love not paying taxes lol

1 year ago Fantastic experience: Today was my second time ever at Just Poke It Studio but, just like the first time I stepped foot inside, I was immediately laughing and joking with the ladies. I had a Helix piercing done by Leela. She was incredibly professional, showed me all the tools and jewelry, explained the process and what to expect, and made sure I understood all the aftercare directions afterwards. The piercing itself went off without a hitch and she made sure I was comfortable before starting. The environment is warm, welcoming, clean, and just full of good vibes. I will absolutely be going back for all my piercing needs and for some of my tattoo needs as well. Thank you ladies for a wonderful experience! I will, hopefully, be seeing you soon!

1 year ago Fantastic experience: Clean calm environment, staff are both accommodating and professional. Wide selection of jewelry for various piercings at a reasonable price. Had my old jewelry removed and new jewelry put in and was impressed with the ease of the whole experience. Thank you for doing it on the spur of the moment it is greatly appreciated and I will recommend you if anyone I know is considering getting a tattoo and or piercing. Thanks a lot guys.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: Have been there twice, once for a triple helix piercing and once for a jewelry change. I can’t say enough good things about Leela. Leela talked me through every step of the process, explaining exactly what she was doing and why and showing me all the tools she was using. She made me very comfortable and confident in my choice to go to Just Poke It. She had the highest standards of cleanliness and explained why she does everything she does. Not only was Leela very professional and knowledgeable, she was also super kind and made me extremely comfortable throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend Leela for all your piercing needs!

1 year ago Fantastic experience: Was on the hunt for a new piercer after mine had moved away. Came across these guys, and I was just blown away with the experience. From the very beginning they have been great with communicating and accommodating. The actual experience was amazing! Leela was so amazing! She took her time to throughly explain the process and even went above and beyond showing me that all her tools were sterilized before using them. She was super gentle and kind. Tiffany at the front desk was amazing as well, she made sure I was all settled and explained the waiver to me and everything. Both were super sweet, and made the experience well worth it. The studio was super clean and looked amazing. I will definitely be coming back to get my future piercings and other services with them. Thank you so much Tiffany and Leela!!

1 year ago Fantastic experience: Absolutely outstanding service. Extremely kind, considerate, professionals. A very comfortable, accepting vibe and atmosphere. These are all things I experienced at Just Poke It Studio, from the first call, to me leaving an extremely satisfied customer just a short time later. I gave the studio a call, thinking just my question would be answered. Instead, not only were they able to slip me in for a consultation on the same day, they were able to help me at only a fraction of the cost. Leela was very patient and accommodating. After explaining my situation, she offered another solution, which she had time to do right then and there. She was able to make me feel comfortable even if what I was getting done, wasnt the most comfortable thing to experience. Absolutely 10/10 would recommend going and personally, for any and all future body mods, I will be going to Just Poke It Studio.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: The ladies at this establishment are amazing! Leela and team took great care of me for my surface tragus and Medusa piercings. They are thorough with describing the process as well as aftercare and maintain a warm welcoming environment. I won’t go anywhere else for a piercing.

2 years ago Negative experience: Can’t really rate their work because after sending a deposit, they cancelled my session not once but twice in a row last minute, only 30 mins. Beforehand. I guess they don’t want to make $? It was super disappointing. Not reliable, I wouldn’t recommend them as a result.
