Fantastic experience: Overall a very positive experience! I called last minute needing help removing a tricky helix piercing before a procedure, and they were able to take me in as soon as I arrived. They handled everything so quickly and kindly, and even offered to help put the earring back in the very next day. They also took the time to talk through options for procedure‑safe jewelry, which I really appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I had a great first professional tattoo experience at True Hart with owner and artist, Ed. He is a very talented artist with a great eye for color, and was able to read between the lines of what I was unable to express to give a product that truly made me happy. I am very picky, OCD, ADHD – by no means am I an easy customer as a giddy, nervous, naive first-timer who didn't understand the process and didn't know what to expect. He was super patient and didn't take things personal when I was trying to understand the process. I will tell you to rest easy and just communicate clearly what you want and Ed will make it happen. He also gives great customer service and takes interest in his customers sparking conversation making the entire experience even more worth it. If you're looking for a good tat in Kingston, give True Hart a try!

Negative experience: I got my belly button pierced here last summer and I’ve had constant issues with it ever since. When I got the piercing the tools that Ed had used weren’t cleaned and the package he used was not freshly opened. My piercing is crooked and got infected badly. I felt as if my piercing was getting infected and I went in to ask him if it was and he told me no. It kept getting worse and I used the cleaner provided and I ended up having to go to my doctor and it was infected badly that he had to stab it with silver nitrate to get rid of the keloid growing because of the piercing. I’ve talked to a few friends that went there and they had the same experience

The place was super clean, they opened everything fresh in front of me, and the piercer made sure the placement was perfect. I was a little nervous but they explained everything and made me feel really comfortable. She had an MRI appointment at 2 PM, and we struggled to remove her nose piercing, which needed to be taken out for the procedure. Ed's exceptional service truly saved the day. Negative experience: PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE FOR PIERCINGS!!! As lovely and charismatic the owner is, he has zero piercing knowledge and seems to be entirely self taught. You do not get a choice of jewellery, you get the default jewellery which is a sliver stud with a BUTTERFLY BACK. One google search and you will find out why you should never pierce cartilage with a butterfly back. I got a cartilage piercing and he pierced it with an 18 gauge, which again… one google search and you would find out why this is an issue. Worst of all however, is he pierced my friend’s HELIX with a HOOP and said there was no issue with it. A couple days later I went to a more reputable piercer and they told me to get the jewellery changed as soon as possible because the healing was going terribly. The prices here are also more expensive then a reputable piercer’s. So please just go anywhere else . The owner is definitely more known for tattoos and I am in no way saying not to come here for your tattoos. Just stay clear for piercings.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible place. Notorious in Kingston for being really bad quality tattoos and piercings and just generally unprofessional. My partner got his lip rings here and he went in through his lip and didn’t align them whatsoever and had to re do both of them, so 4 piercings in one sitting. Didn’t offer to refund or discount either even though he screwed them up so badly. Poor quality jewelry.

Fantastic experience: Recently went to TrueHart to get my left helix pierced and to cover up an old tattoo on my forearm, and when I tell you this is THE BEST experience I’ve had with a tattoo artist.. Ed asked all the right questions and always made sure I was 100% comfortable and confident with the placement of my piercing and new and improved tattoo, he even let me choose what music I wanted to listen to. The other guy that works at TrueHart, I think his name is Will, was also very friendly, and is also an amazing artist. I highly recommend going to TrueHart for any tattoo or piercing, I’m seriously never stepping foot into a different shop again.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! I went for a nose piercing a month ago, and Ed made me feel comfortable and calm during the whole process. He suggested aftercare and I visited him once or twice just for check ins, and he has been patient and helpful through it all.

Fantastic experience: got my first and second tattoos here, very highly recommend True Hart. both Will & Ed are extremely professional and they do everything they can to help make you comfortable throughout the entire process. they were more than happy to let us adjust the designs or placement of the stencil as much we liked before getting the tattoo & during the process are very attentive to how you’re doing (Will was even so kind as to let me play my favourite album over the shop speakers to help ease my nerves!!) the tattoos themselves were both beautifully done and i could not be happier with them, they are perfectly what i imagined in my head overall a very positive experience, highly highly recommend!!
